Aurora was picturing Merlin and Snowball all dolled up and handsome. A soft look of whistful amusement on her face when she was drawn from the thought by Azzo's suggestion. "That sounds wonderful... Does he know?" If so he'd done a good job keeping the secret in their occasional skype sessions.
Aurora laughed a little as he spoke about which brothers he thought would be trouble stopping only when he voiced his concern. But it was her turn for reassurance, nuzzling him gently. "Well now you have 5 brother in laws to run interference. I'm sure I could wrangle them into keeping your Dad busy and away from you if that would make your day better." There would likely be a lot of attention paid in the next couple months to making sure everything aligned to be the perfect day for Aurora. But for her that perfection and happiness relied on him being happy too. Not miserable because of his father, or her brothers, or any other stress and worry.
When he told her where the ring came from it almost set the waterworks off again, but she somehow managed to keep the tears at bay. Her mother was gone and now her father too... but the thought of familial connection, that she was gaining his family, and of the gift from the woman Aurora thought so highly of. She'd cherish it forever. It was a ring that already had so many years of love entrusted in it and Aurora intended to put as much love into it as she could, even long after she had an actual wedding ring.
As if to answer his question she held her hand out to him, waiting for him to slip it on her finger. "I couldn't think of anything more perfect."

Azzo paused and whistled, "No not yet. I didn't want him to tell you, if you two talked. He almost somehow always lets the cat out of the bag."
Azzo sighed lightly, "Well thankfully one of them is bound to gain his approval. Since there's five he can take his pick." Azzo started laughing and shaking his head, "Maybe he'd actually behave on such an important day though."
He was trying not to look startled as Aurora looked like she was almost about to cry again, "Gosh you're brothers are going to kill me for making you cry again." He joked a little as he gave her cheek a soft kiss.
When she was ready for the ring he placed it on her finger. It wasn't really flashy or fancy. A nice sterling silver with a small diamond that was lightly tinted blue. He smiled and hugged her, "You'll have to tell her when we get back and you're settled back in."

"Well you might want to tell him before you start offering out his services." She teased. Not that the Guardian was likely to say no or anything.
Aurora wished she could fix Azzo's family problems for him. Especially with the pain of losing her father recently it made her heart ache to think that his relations with his family were so strained. She wasn't going to try and push for anything though. And atleast he had Gram.
"Hopefully he will be happy for you behave himself. But worst case scenario I can certainly threaten and guilt my brothers into behaving and helping for a day."
Her hand opened and closed a couple of times, as if testing the fit of the ring and the weight and feel. But then her fingers stretched out again, admiring the simple, but lovely, ring against her caramel colored skin. Engaged. It was surreal.
Turning her attention back to him she smiled a little apologetically, snuggling against him. "I'm sorry... I'll try not to.. but I have a feeling I might cry a lot for a little while." Probably over stupid stuff like wedding invitations. And almost definately at their wedding. And probably even on their wedding night, so one could only hope that Azzo would understand and not take a shot to his confidence.
"They're all happy tears though, so my brothers can't be too mad."

"That cat owes me." He said matter of factly, "Wait till you see the junk he's amassed. I don't even know where to put it all. And he doesn't even pay rent." He was joking by this point and laughing a little bit. "No seriously you're going to have to help me make him stop."
He shrugged, "It'll be what it'll be. If he behaves good. If not I'll just go hide behind Mato. Since he's even taller than I am." He chuckled, "Though I don't know, I'll deal with it, when I have to. If they can help it'd be a bit of a relief if not I'll have to bite the bullet."
He chuckled as she opened and closed her hand and tested the ring, "If it doesn't fit right we can get it adjusted back home. Gram's has a jeweler she uses I'm sure. That ring didn't say so pretty just by her wearing it." Surely there'd be a family friend or someone that could help with the ring cleanings, adjustments and what not.
He started laughing a little bit and hugged her, "As long as they're not going to be mad at me. I'm good." He gazed up towards Polaris' star. "She shines so bright tonight." He whispered, "Do you think the homeworlds and wonders know too?" It was a weird thought but, what if they were sort of in a magical way, alive?

"Or we could just get a bigger house. For Snowball's stuff now, but eventually for all the babies." She was teasing and it was dreadfully apparent from her expression. Really she loved their house and it'd be weird. Well unless one day they DID have a huge brood and desperate needed a big house in the country.
"It's fine now, but we can definately find someone for when it needs cleaning and TLC."
Shivering a little, she tried to pull one of the blankets up around them a bit more, looking up to the sky and joining in his whistful thoughts. "They always seem to know when you need them the most, down to the very moment. So they have to be watching. That's probably why it's so bright tonight."

Azzo looked at her, he knew she was joking he was trying not to laugh actually while he replied, ". . . . now, you've already told me I should've kept a tighter leash on him. We shouldn't encourage him. We won't have any room for us if we did. He'd need a whole house to himself."
"Oh I know, she had it cleaned again before she even gave it to me." He said with a chuckle, "'Now you can't be giving this to Aurora without being properly cleaned that's just not right. I raised you better than that. You come back tomorrow afternoon It'll be waiting on you.'" He mimicked in his best gram's voice. "Really she slapped my hand away like I was taking a cookie from the jar."
He grabbed the blanket and tossed it around them and wrapped her into it. "I know, it's like our own guardian angel. He was resting his head so it leaned on hers and was supported by her shoulder as he looked up. After a little bit he placed a soft kiss on her neck. "What time will they send out the search party?" He asked jokingly. He knew they had to been there longer than intended but he didn't care too much unless they actually showed up.

"Okay" Aurora sighed dramatically. "I'll play the bad guy for you." She joked. Only a few more days and they'd be back home so she could assess the 'damage' what with both Azzo AND Snowball warning her about clutter and messes.
She laughed again as Azzo gave his best Gram impression, before teasing him a little bit too, not wanting to give up the perfect opportunity. "Maybe you shouldn't have given her so much practice by taking all those cookies over the years."
"They actually don't know where we are, so the worst that will happen is that they'll start calling a lot." It was cozy and comfortable snuggled with him under the blanket.
"Are you ready to head back? I like it here... but the sooner we go to bed, the sooner tomorrow will come and the sooner we can go home."

He laughed when she sighed dramatically, "It's not thhhattt bad. It's just, a little bad - hopefully it hasn't gotten worse." He added, "Though it looks like he might've found a knight from his letter that showed up sometime last night." Maybe Azzo should've mentioned that sooner, he whistled a little. The star watching having reminded him.
He paused, "Hey I didn't take that many cookiesss.... where she could see." He added as an after thought. "Always did get caught. I swear she could hear it open."
He looked at her when she said they didn't know where they were. "I'll give them another ten minutes before calling then." He was joking a little but he snuggled up to her.
"Hmmm, not really but I know we need to rest a little before tomorrow. . . " He sounded reluctant. With a small sigh he looked back up towards the stars. "At least, we have things to look forward too?"

Her gaze was slightly suspicious as he backtracked, musing playfully. "I guess we'll see in a couple days."
"Oh.. how'd he send you a letter...?" Had she missed something? Cats couldn't send letters last she checked...
It was true, they probably didn't have too much longer before they got a call.. they had been gone for over 6 hours without so much as a check in..
"I look forward to sleeping with you." She responded matter of factly, with a soft smile. Until she realize exactly what she said, and her eyes widened, backtracking as quickly as she could. "I mean in the same bed. N.. no funny business or anything." It seemed a very strange thing to say to one's fiancee. And as such she began to backtrack again, getting slightly flustered. "Which isn't to say I'm not looking forward to that too, I can't wait to until we're together as one but.. umm.. maybe I should just stop."

He chuckled, "Yeahhhhhh.... we'll see. I blame it all on the cat." He added just to make sure she knew who he blamed.
He pulled it out, in signature purple, "Totally looks like he found a knight to do it. Mainly because of how it showed up." Thankfully they didn't have to be powered up to get notes.
Azzo looked at her curiously as she stumbled over herself, cheeks flushing. "Ahahaha, we'll uh... start easy eh? We have plenty of time to do whatever else later." He stretched, "I just can't wait to be back home without having to worry of intrus-- well no we've a cat and dog. So we'll still get hell."

"I'm glad he's making friends and having so much success." Snowball was trying hard, it was very apparent and Polaris was infinitely grateful that her Guardian had stayed on task even as she'd strayed.
She was pouting slightly, still embarrassed by her gauf. But she couldn't help but laugh at a little at his mention of intruders. "I think those two can suffer through seeing some kisses here and there. They're big boys."

Azzo nodded when she said she was glad Snowball was having so much success. "Yeah, lets hope most of those friends aren't people that'll want to kill him hm?" He chuckled slightly as he sighed and continued to sit there.
She was still embarrassed and while his cheeks were still flushed he actually paused, "Actually, I think the kissing isn't that part I was worried about." He was looking at her in this awkward seriousness level but he couldn't keep from laughing a little. "Wonder how often that happened in the past . . . ."
Of course, he then threw in a change of subject, "I might stay up and finish packing, or something. I'll sleep when we get home." He stretched a little, "Do you have everything you need packed?"

Her look was not amused when she mentioned the potential of Snowball befriending the wrong people. Why would he even mention that to her now! As if she hadn't worried herself to death over her knight and Guardian during the long winter nights. Well she'd be back soon enough. And she'd pull double duty to make up for everything she'd missed, to keep her two boys and all of her knights safe.
Her flush wasn't going anywhere either, especially with him making comments like that! "Just because there is a ring on my finger doesn't mean I'm doing anything until we're official married." She joked, hints of her nagging tone poking in. But when he mentioned the past her eyes averted. "Yeah.. I've run into.. that... a few times while on Polaris..."
"I guess we really liked each other even then." She tried to laugh. On her star she'd seen varying scenes of the two, and various scenes of herself pouring over notes from him, she'd even found a couple notes though she couldn't exactly make out what was written on them other than Niflhel's signel. But she was oblivious to some of the finer details that Niflhel was clued into.
"My clothing is all packed and ready to go." She answered thoughtfully. "I'll need to make one last round of the house though to see what I still have laying around."

Azzo looked at her he knew that look, "Whattt... I can't help he got himself smacked unconscious probably a concussion. I've been telling him he needs to be careful. We've been through worse but still." Of course Azzo couldn't really talk he had a couple of people hew knew in the negaverse. "For all we know he's finding people that need help."
He stopped looking at her eyes widened a little bit, "Whooo said anything about rushing that? I was just saying when we were married...."
Azzo nodded, "Yeah from the few times I've seen, it looks like we did." He gave a slight nervous chuckle. He didn't want to mention the fact in the past he'd seen them part ways.
He nodded, "Well then, sounds like we're ready. Five bucks says Lallo tries to steal away with us." He was joking a little bit but the younger one seemed interested in seeing at least somewhere besides here. He sighed, "We should probably get back to the ranch huh?" He asked.

Aurora nodded to his sentiments. Even if it was just what she wanted to hear or believe she was going to believe that Snowball was being good. Helping those in need and staying far away from those that could hurt him. She could worry about the truth when they finally got home.
"Well once we're married we can invest in door locks if you're that worried about it.."
"Yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if Lallo tried to stow away." She laughed. "You know he's going to want to keep visiting thanks to you."
When he asked if she was ready to leave, she glanced back up to the sky thoughtfully. It was well after midnight and they should go.. But not quite yet.
Shifting until she was on her knees in front of him she leaned in, cradling his face between her hands, pressing another long lingering kiss against his lips.
"Okay I'm ready." She whispered softly when their lips finally parted.LP Fin after your next post?
