"A hundred questions is...kind of a lot to get through all at once," said Chance with a smile. "I'm also not sure what the Kings Game is, but it does sound interesting!"
He listened with rapt attention, eyebrows drawing together. Chance idly twisted one of the rings on his finger and tried to figure out if what she was saying was actually applicable to anything he felt in his situation.
...nope. Well. Kind of. The heart fluttery thing happened, certainly, but the dream haunting and the bowling over weren't quite in the range of his feelings towards Otto. Thinking of him ninety percent...well, he certainly did think of him often, but there was no need to be together every second of every day.
Chance tilted his head a little.
"Do you feel that way around your prince?" he asked curiously.

"Variety is the spice of life, Chance. 100 questions is not something to go through all at once. Honestly, you are terribly simple!" As expected of a simple peasant, really. She could ask for no more than that. "Kings Game is for parties. You need a fair amount of people. At least 5 or 6 as a minimum. You draw straws. If you get the King's straw, you are King. As King, you demand certain numbers to do things. As an example, they could tell #3 to perform a waltz by themselves. Or command #5 and #2 to confess to one another. That kind of thing, without knowing who the numbers belong to until it happens." She smirked smugly. "I have dreamed of playing it, but sadly, the chances of being King are slim, and the odds of being made a fool of even higher. I dare not chance it." Heh. Chance. What a dumb name. "But of course I feel that way of Edgar!" She said with triumph. "I often daydream of smothering him in his sleep should he ever stray from me! And I was thinking of embalming his corpse so that his beauty will remain for centuries!" She snapped her fingers. "Better yet! Putting his soul into a beautiful ball jointed doll! Even better! I have clothes picked out for his doll self already. I am in the process of crafting his doll throne."

He let the first comment slide and focused on the second - namely the explanation of the Kings Game. Which, actually, sounded particularly interesting. Chance made a mental note of the rules, wondering if he could sucker some of his friends into playing the next time they got together.
"Maybe one day you'll be able to play and be the king," he said grandly, and then smiled, tugging on one of his curls.
Embalming his corpse. Chance was just going to...skate right over that. Maybe. Yes.
He opened his mouth, closed it, opened it again, and then said carefully, "And...Edgar will do the same for you...?"

"Edgar has no authority over my body. Dead or alive." She said darkly, with an ominous aura cascading over her head and shoulders.

Chance stared at her.
"....why not?"

"Because it's mine." She said matter of fact, her brows raised high. "Obviously."

A pause.
"And Edgar's is...?" Chance prompted.

Another pause.
"Ah," said Chance. "I see."
(He didn't.)

"Well it should have been obvious from the start." Kiki insisted, idly tucking some hair behind her ear. "Do you have any other questions? My time is precious, so do not waste such an opportunity to hear my wise words."

He debated for a few seconds, contemplating if he had another question.
"Okay," said Chance decisively. "Last one. On a scale of one to ten, how important is it to have a prince for oneself?"

"About a six." She said flatly. "To be honest, a Princess is just as well on her own too. A Prince isn't entirely necessary."

He leaned back with a satisfied smile.
"I always did like the notion that people are whole and complete on their own," said Chance lightly. "And that it's not a need to have a significant other, it's just...really very nice to have one anyway. You complement each other, not complete each other."

Kiki shrugged. "As far as I am concerned, the less contact I have with others, the better." Again, it was said so plainly and serious it was almost alarming. "To be honest, a life Online is much more suited for me."

He wasn't entirely sure he agreed with that, but to each their own, Chance supposed He squinted at Kiki contemplatively and then relaxed, hands folded against his stomach.
"If that's what makes you happy, then by all means," he said with a smile. "A princess need not stoop to mingling with the peasants, after all."
