The way Alejandro talked, all start and stop--and the volume!--or at least she thought it was the volume... The changes, anyway, threw Bree closer into the conversation. She found herself starting to speak and waiting for Alejandro to explain something he was saying with his shifting expression, which he might not have been able to put to words. It sort of had a rhythm, though, and Breanna found that the more she was jarred into listening to him the more she couldn't pull herself away, or at least not as quickly.
"Ye-yeah..." She said to his last comment, which, if we're being honest, seemed a bit philosophical for a just-met chat. Still, it made her think in her own way of how much she liked the paranormal, and how she felt when she it occurred to her she didn't much care for it anymore; this boy being so normal, and Dimitri as well, and coincidentally being her most pleasant talks so far? Don't bet. She smiled through it.
"That's how you learn, after all," said the ghost hunter patently. "You, uh, like philosophy?" She said now letting that smile settle back in.

Alejandro Venneta
He waited for her to finish. Alejandro seemed quite a bit lost. You could tell he probably had no idea what he was saying, and his confused expression was clear. You could tell, that he was confusing himself. He then looked up at her. In his eyes, the message was, Wait a minute! What did I even say?! and then he realized he was confused.
"Umm...a little bit. I like to look at all possibilities to everything." He stammered. His thoughts and voice seemed a little more synchronized due to the look in his eyes. You could tell, that he acted younger than his age. Always curious, a little lost, and sometimes...well, in this case, a little puzzling. Well, okay, more than puzzling. You could tell he had a hard time focusing on one precise thing. The light in his green eyes always flickered to another place to another. He then shared a nervous smile with her. To be truthful, he was having a hard time keeping up with himself. He then looked like he was going to say something, but he didn't, well not out loud at least. His eyes then looked into her's, and another message flashed in his eyes.
Trust me. I'm just as confused as you are right now.
As Alejandro went on Bree continued to grow more and more nervous. At some point she was genuinely worried about the boy in front of her, that she might be witnessing a real live breakdown--of course thinking of Kira a little bit, and the curious twinkling disillusionment everyone here seemed to carry in one way or another, not unlike an interactive soap opera--and in that moment she found her instinct to help, to nurture, to protect kicked in to produce a tearless cry for the newbie... It went on like this until the pathos itself drowned in those invisible tears, and suddenly Breanna started laughing again, shedding tears entirely opposite in every way.
"Oh~ my gosh~!" She cooed as she came down from her giggly heights. She wiped a tear as she faced the boy again. "Thank you so much for that... You really are a goober, you know?"
"I don't know if I've laughed like that in the whole time I've been here." True story.

Alejandro Venneta
Alejandro cocked his head to the right in curiosity of her reactions and her laughter. He then smiled a little bit at her last few comments. Tears then began to stream down his face but his smile widened.
"I'm...I'm so happy...I...I've never made someone laugh before..." He said as tears of joy quickly dripped down his face.
"But I've also never felt like this? What...are these tears and the emotions? And...and why are they all coming at once? I just...I don't understand..." His entire body started to shake from joy. He held one of his shakey hands up to his face. Water droplets were springing out of his fingertips.
Why had he come here? He didn't have any money. Nico sighed and picked up a quarter he found randomly. "Let's see... Snack or game..." Anya shook her head. "You idiot..." "What? I ate today." Nico shrugged. he remembered his lunch. It was kind of sad, really. He had spilled more food than he had eaten. It was nice that people helped him out yet he lost his wallet again.

Alejandro Venneta He half froze. He put his hands into his pockets noticing that another person entered. His focus shattered quickly. He then practically bended backwards slightly as in to look at the new person.
And I thought I understood people who I see...apparently I don't. Alejandro thought.
A kjneejerk "whoa!" reaction sprung from Breanna as her new friend seemed to take empathy to new, perhaps unwarranted, levels.
"Hey-hey! ... Are you crying, uh--out of your hand?" The reflex had carried into the young Sorceress holding Alejandro's wrist like some wilty thing--a carnation, an Asiatic Lily, something--to feel the strange rain trickle down to hers; that didn't burn as it left its slug trail down until it stopped, looking a little like a vein which, tired of the outside, had withdrawn to the old-new doldrums of vascular life; and in this way, if only this way, she internalised Alejandro's strong condition.
"... You're ok." She told him straightly as more people came in. With a cough she let the hand-stem go and brushed her hair over her ear.absently.
"Hello~.... " was all she would offer them for the moment.
He jumped higher than usual, taken by surprise. "Wha~!"
He hadn't noticed them. Nico looked up, then to the people who had come in. He made a weird face as his stomach growled uncontrollably. "Eh.... Eheheheh..." A timer went off and Nico's eyes rolled up into his head. "Crap..." he fell to the floor clutching his stomach. Maybe he should have found dinner.

Alejandro Venneta He got up straight and couldn't help but to nod to Breanna in appreciation then he took a deep breath and managed a polite, "H-" that was supposed to be a hello, but when the other student collapsed he kinda bursted into a short dash to the student. His "hello", was replaced with a rushed and a half slurred,
Nico's stomach made an unsettling growl as he stuck up his thumb. "I-I'm just peachy...." Anya rolled her eyes and stayed visible only to Nico. Nico gave a weak grin.

Yet another reason, or proof, of/for Breanna's momma bear instinct carried over from before the cataclysm. She rushed over to the hungry boy with snack cakes and wasabi peas in hand.
"Here, dude!" The kindest hand was sunshine and the food its warm kiss as the intrepid knelt in front of the newcomer. A smile, coupled with her silhouette, made her appear somewhat angelic with her aureole of noble gases.
Nico sat up and frowned. He stared at the snack cakes. "Y-you gotta be kidding me...." He sighed and reluctantly. Sure, he was hungry but it wasn't like he had wanted help. Nico stared blankly at the ground. Anya floated right through him. "Well, don't be mean. Eat it." He looked at the cake, then at the girl. He opened the package and ripped a piece off of it. Nico looked at it before putting it to his lips and into his mouth. It had been an extremely long time since he had had a snack cake. Anya smiled and became visible for a second before disappearing. Nico looked to the girl and nodded. "Thank you...."

"Please, be more careful...." He said (asked?) with a sigh.
"Are you sure you're okay?" He asked concerned yet still confused. His adrenaline began to wane down as he talked.

Bree was able to take a load off as well now that the boy had started nomming on her goodies. From her char, which was the coffee table in the center of the room, she watched as things started to settle down; the questions came in on the cooling air like dust.
"So, what's up?" She said giving a slightly demanding shrug. "You get locked out of your house? ... Oh! Maybe your broke! ... Are you broke? Because either of those are sad, honestly." Poor empathetic Bree was sorrow for a phantom.
He frowned and shrugged. Anya grimaced at him and set her hands to her hips. "Use your words, Nico." He gave Anya an uninterested look and returned his attention to the two who had worried about him. "To be honest, I didn't really eat much earlier today." "More like earlier this week." Anya grumbled. "You shut up." He snapped to Anya, which might have looked a little weird since Anya couldn't be seen.
