As the trainer went to heal his team up Simon received a beep stating that Mudkip was evolving. Sending him out Simon witnessed the evolution into "Marshtomp the mud fish Pokemon. The surface of Marshtomp's body is enveloped by a thin, sticky film that enables it to live on land. This Pokemon plays in mud on beaches when the ocean tide is low." Congratulating Marshtomp he returned the newly evolved Pokemon.

Avonlea had kind of moved away from the growing crowd. She didn't go too far, as she could still be seen and see herself, but she was pretty much off to the side of everything. People on this island seemed more prone to stare at her, and she was growing uncomfortable. Sighing, she took a seat on the grass with Mikhail and....What had she named the baby Kangaskhan again? God, she was embarrassed for forgetting."Char~! Char char~!"Avonlea laughed a bit as Mikhail did a silly little dance to make Kangaskhan laugh.
Arezu touched down outside the Gorgeous Resort, curious to see what Pokemon Lady Selphy wished to see today. She was, in fact, surprised to find out that she desired to see none other than a Shellos. "But... I could have gotten one yesterday!" She literally fought a shellos to get to the pachirisu! Was Selphy seriously this dense? "How nice it must be to be rich," Arezu grumbled, setting off to catch what the rich lady wanted.
Arezu leapt from Tanjoubi's arms and ran inside. Relief washed over her when she found out she was, in fact, the first to bring a Shellos today. Lady Selphy was beside herself, having nearly given up hope on seeing the pokemon she longed for, and was happy to give Arezu another gs ball for her troubles. Arezu pocketed the gs ball excitedly, mind already racing as she started doing the math and trying to figure out who to give them too. Kouvu was an obvious choice, given his need to train more. But she'd definitely need to think more on it...

As Avonlea watched Mikhail dance hilariously for Kangaskhan - she still couldn't recall the name she gave her! - Avonlea heard a sort of hissing growl before she was pounced on by a Liepard. Jumping up and out of the way of the Pokemon's claws, Avonlea watched as Liepard circled Mikhail and the baby Pokémon."Don't you dare--!""Not another step, or my Liepard will tear them apart!"Avonlea moved back when the assassin from before walked out of seemingly nowhere, her sword drawn."You again? Why are you so hellbent on taking me out?""Like I said before, I have a contract for your death. I don't need to go into details. Stay still and let's get this over with, or your Charmander and Kangaskhan will suffer for your resistance."Damn this woman straight to Hell. She would kill two young Pokémon just to kill her?"Ch-Char...?""It'll be fine, Mikhail. We're going to be fine."Mikhail looked at Avonlea fearfully before looking at Kangaskhan. What was he doing? As Avonlea fought to keep Zero distracted, not wanting to risk her going after Mikhail and Kangaskhan, she was only partly aware of the battle between Mikhail (150) and Liepard (360).
"You're pretty tough for an unevolved Pokémon. Challenging me to a battle like this. Unfortunately for you, this is your last fight!"Liepard leapt at Mikhail, hitting him with Assurance (60). Mikhail sort squealed from the pain, but he didn't waver from his determination. Knowing none of his normal moves would work very well, Mikhail risked it and drained energy from Avonlea's flower to use Light of Ruin; Fairy moves were great against Darks like Liepard, weren't they? Gathering the fairy energy, Mikhail struck Liepard with the powerful beam (280). Unfortunately, Mikhail took some of the damage, as the attack recoiled and struck him, too (93). This ended up knocking the Charmander right out, making Liepard laugh a bit. As powerful and painful as that move was, Charmander was useless of his own move knocked him out."Ugh!""Quick, Kangaskhan, give this to Mikhail for me!"It would have been simpler in theory to just call out Decadus, but she didn't have time to call him out. It was faster to give Mikhail the Max Revive. After Kangaskhan picked the revival candy up and fed it to Mikhail, his eyes snapped open and there was an unusual flame in his eyes. Standing, he snarled at Liepard, who struck at him with another Assurance (60), only to be brought down with another Light of Ruin (280 // 93).
Mikhail then turned his attention to Zero and ran at her as his body glowed a brilliant white. By the time he reached Zero, who was ready to cut a pained Avonlea down, he had evolved into a Charmeleon. Wanting to protect Avonlea, Mikhail bit the assassin's leg, making her move away. Kangaskhan rushed over to stand behind Mikhail, but Zero picked her up, making her cry out."I'm not afraid to resort to hostages. Drop your sword, or the baby Kangaskhan will die.""Khan...! Kanga kanga!!"Having recovered from the pain of Mikhail leeching from the flower, Avonlea stood with her sword held tighter."There are only three things in this world I absolutely detest. Of all of them, the thing I can't stand above all else are people who threaten the lives of children. This battle is between us. Let her go, or I will make sure not even your soul survives my wrath."Thankfully, the sound of a siren caught their attention and Zero left with a very injured and tired Liepard. Dropping her sword only after she was sure Zero was gone, Avonlea fell to her knees and picked Kangaskhan up, holding her close."I'm so happy you're safe, little one. I'm sorry you went through that. As for you, Mikhail....You did very well. I'm proud of you."She patted his head gently before hugging him, glad he was safe, too. Hurt, but be was safe. And, he had even evolved. It was amazing seeing him evolve and then attack Zero like that. Even if him using Light of Ruin twice had drained her energy, too.

The next battle Simon was drawn into was a bit further up the beach. The trainer had surprised him since he didn't think that the older woman would have been a trainer. However now they stood across from each other. The woman's first Pokemon was a "Rhyhorn the spikes Pokemon. Rhyhorn runs in a straight line, smashing everything in its path. It is not bothered even if it rushes headlong into a clock of steel. This Pokemon may feel some pain from the collision the next day, however." Simon had actually started with Oshawott before trading him out for Greninja.

Seeing Rhyhorn stampede at Greninja was a hard thing to watch as the powerful Pokemon smashed into him with chip away. Of course making the ground roll like it had with bulldozer was also a good move. Didn't matter though as the super charged hydro pump, the one turn move, blew Rhyhorn away. As if feeling nothing though the Rhyhorn was switched out with his evolved form. "Rhydon the drill Pokemon. Rhydon has a horn that serves as a drill. It is used for destroying rocks and boulders. This Pokemon occasionally rams into streams of magma, but the armor-like hide prevents it from feeling the heat."

The Pokemon had reared up and slammed on his front feet in order to roll the ground under his feet. Greninja seemed to be able to keep balance as it took damage then blasted out another beam of cool water. Even with the lowered speed Greninja was still faster and knocked the Pokemon to the ground. The woman returned her Rhydon and sent out the final evolution "Rhyperior the drill Pokemon. It puts rocks in holes in its palms and uses its muscles to shoot them. Geodude are shot at rare times."

Honestly Rhyperior was scary to face off against especially when it charge and slammed Greninja back. Flipping in the air Greninja landed before standing up and blasting another hydro pump at the creature. Part of Simon wondered if Rhyperior would be too much however two blasts were enough as the Pokemon fainted. The last Pokemon came out in a burst of light however it was a lot smaller, and flatter than the last one but Simon had seen it before, Stunfisk.

When Stunfisk fainted the woman returned the Pokemon. Oshawott leveled up several times but still remained at the normal first stage. Simon healed up Greninja and returned him and after shaking the woman's hand on a good battle Simon sent Marshtomp out who teased his smaller friend a little. Simon chuckled seeing the pair play fight together.

"Come here," he said picking both up onto the counter as he showed them how he tried to catch Wailmer with the net. They watched in rapt attention as he dipped his net in however it broke in the water. Both Pokemon patted Simon's hand as he collected the single ticket. Marshtomp jumped down and walked in front while Simon carried Oshawott to the next game.

Arriving at the ring toss station Simon started to return the pair of Pokemon. Returning Oshawott Simon started to return Marshtomp when he noticed that one of the rings was missing. Laughing he saw it on Marshtomp's arm as he was trying to figure out what it was. Gently taking it back Simon returned him and tried his luck, only the one Marshtomp was playing with landed true earning Simon two tickets.
