Another foreign object on the floor, and again he stopped to investigate. This one looked sort of round but in the dim lighting he couldn't quite make out what it was, even while kneeling. It didn't look like a fossil, but then again he'd never seen a real fossil in person before, so maybe it was? Sync frowned and gave the thing an experimental poke, only to find it stick stubbornly to his glove. A corner of his lip curled up a little in mild disgust as he retracted his finger, only to find the object going with it. He gave his arm a sharp flail to dislodge the thing, and it did - then sailed through the air and bounced off a wall a bit before it flopped back down to the ground.

He straightened back up again and frowned deeper. Maybe he was going about it the wrong way, staring at the floor the whole time. Perhaps there were fossils in the walls instead? Yes, that sounded more likely. With that thought in mind, the trainee moved closer to the wall to inspect it, the tips of his gloved fingers brushing across the surface as he took a few slow steps to one side to survey this particular section of wall as thoroughly as he was able to in such poor lighting.

...well, that couldn't be mistaken for a fossil even a little. He took just a moment or two to read it before ignoring it - he didn't know what it was about, given how little he knew about pokemon - and continued to study the wall, albeit a bit further down this time. Maybe there'd be something...

Well that was no good. He put the torch in his pocket and continued to explore.

Adam looked at the half used tube of hot pink lipstick and contemplated it. If not for the dubious origins, he might have been tempted to use it on himself for the heck of it. WAIT. Taking out his pebble son, he smeared a tiny bit on the top. "You're gorgeous." Replacing the pebble to his pocket, he continued to search.

[Outside Scree]

Michiko nearly screamed until she saw how dirty the bone was.It was just someone's leftover lunch.

Sighing she moved on to another random bolder, one closer to the entrance and she and Snap moved it together.

[The Right Chamber]

After a little internal debate Aulus headed into the cave, followed by his team. "Left or right?" he asked. Two hands pointed left, three hands and a paw pointed right; he nodded. "Right then."

It was reasonably well lit in here and once again Aulus and his pokemon spread out to comb the cave. Tortie snuffled around on the floor, Thanatos hopped up on top of boulders to peer at higher sections of wall, Rose peered into odd crevices that might admit his slender frame, Juno took to the air and buzzed up to check around the ceiling, while Aulus, Char, and Foxtrot made a more general search.

Outside Scree

After the fiasco… major fiasco, Lex had cut his hair close to his head and dyed it black into a soft fuzz. He had went sort of Goth, paled his already soft complexion with rice powder and colored his lips blue and went Smokey for his lids and liner. Black sleeveless button up shirt with studs and black jeans. He had chosen a pair of fingerless black gloves and slipped off his Crobat’s back, why walk when you could fly and they both needed some practice and pushed his goggles up, taking in the cave from the light woods. Welp, that certainly was a lot of rubble. Lex idly pat his Crobat, looking over the area and recalled her into her pokeball.

Maps? Okay then. He took one, looked about and decided to travel up the Outside Scree. He released his Flareon and started up, looking for shinny things… or odd looking things. Fossils were odd looking weren’t they? They certainly were exciting! Rock, rock, rock. "Lots of Rocks, ain't that right?"

Sideways grinned running up and down the rubble cheerfully, fluffy tail fluttering.

"But then there would have to be a lot of rocks, since fossils need the sediment so they kept some thing instead of decaying and I wonder if this was a sea bed?"

"Humm?" Aulus' fingers brushed over an irregularity in a boulder which, on closer inspection, turned out to be another Helix fossil or at least he thought it was. After a little bit of effort on Juno's part they had it free and then packaged up next to the one already in Aulus' bag, he didn't need a second one himself but he was sure the Team would be glad to have it.

"Shall we try the other chamber?" Aulus suggested once the bag was back on his back. They'd not searched in here all that thoroughly yet but there was a limited time before they'd have to leave, did it make sense to cover all the areas?

Undecided for the moment Aulus wandered back towards the cave's entrance and stood observing the other hopeful amateur palaeontologists. Some of them he knew he knew - Adam got a nod of acknowledgement - while some he thought he recognised from base but wasn't quite sure about. How many Rockets were here today in total he wondered? Anyone not taking advantage of this - provided they had the time off - was a complete twerp in his opinion.
