"I should have just have ******** turned around and left." But then Lucky would be here on his own, and that didn't sit well with him either.
He hardly registered the weak spout of flame through the seizing hands and slung makeshift weapons. He had no ******** idea if they were going to make it out at all.

That was an insult. Gale glowered at Caelius, because trying to send him off to go find Mark was low; but it was short lived, because a second later his head snapped back around to Charlotte, sitting demurely a seat away.
Sword?
His breathing grew a little faster, Gale curling his fingers together in his lap.
"Sword?" he repeated, as calmly as he could. "Is it here?"

There was a long moment of silence as both stared at Gale incredulously.
And then Charlotte simply burst out laughing and did not stop for quite a while.

The crowd pushed him back until he was back-to-back with the much taller but equally bled-out Rep.
"If we make it," he wheezed, "I think I owe you a drink. Actually... I'll owe you however many drinks it takes to get us both to... forget any of this even happened..."
"Kurwa. There's nothing else I can do..." He kicked at another oncoming attacker, and pressed a hand against the sticky red spot forming on the front of his jacket. "Tell Mark he's got to do it now."

He was getting impatient. And annoyed. And embarrassed that he was apparently failing at the job he'd held for approximately four and a half years now.
"Stop this," Gale snapped, rising to his feet, which was a struggle, because he ached all over. "Stop this and let them go, this is ridiculous. What the hell are you trying to accomplish?"

Immediately, the cage doors clicked open, and the violence spilled all directions.
"Elevator-" Mark's voice was breaking, and not intentionally. There was something interfering with the communications - "to the elevator. - Upstairs."
Static. And then Rep's headset screeched, and stopped working entirely. Baneful only one of them needs to post going to elevator if they are propping each other! astaraeI only one of them needs to post going to elevator if they are propping each other!

"Honey," Charlotte replied, patronizingly, stabbing into the rest of her dessert with a small, dainty spoon, "I tried. I'm only doing what I can to minimize damage."

Gale's hands pressed flat against the table as he glared over at Charlotte from where he stood.
"Minimize damage from what exactly? How is having a room full of people murder each other minimizing damage?"

"Deal." Rep said and things turned truly ******** hopeless. "I even own a bar." A bar he might never actually see again. It all rested on Mark's shoulders and once again, against all odds, the guy came through.
The bars were open and Rep helped both of them through the now freed crowds to the elevator, trying the whole while to ignore the fact that his shoulder was at the point where he almost couldn't feel the pain at all any longer, it was just a cold numb spot and that fact distressed him more than when it was steadily bleeding.
"Got to take the lift." he said, as if voicing his entire focus out loud." he said grimly. "It's going to take a LOT of booze."

The elevator played a very soothing jazz tune as it hummed speedily up to the fiftieth floor. Upon arriving, the two of them would be created to a luxurious penthouse suite, floors and tiling made of pure white marble. That alone would have been quite a sight, but what was an even stranger sight was a table, full of food.
At the end of the table was Charlotte, helping herself to some creme brulee. On the left was Caelius, who had slowly evolved into an arms crossed sort of expression. On the right was Gale, who for some reason, had a whole cup of tea and a bunch of sugarcubes next to him.
Charlotte was the first to acknowledge them. "Oh yes, the last ones. Come sit down. Glad you got the invite." She conveniently omitted the last part.

Lucky had mentally prepared himself to find Charlotte up here, and even Gale wasn't a huge surprise (though the fact that he was sitting there having tea while they were bleeding all over the lobby was going to cost him... eventually). But there was always at least one unexpected element.
He waved meekly at Caelius, still leaning heavily against Rep to remain upright. A few drops of blood were already speckling the pristine white marble tiling. Surpriiiiiiiise.
"Hah. Was that the... best you could do?" he tried to laugh in Charlotte's direction, but ended up clutching at his sides and groaning.

Rep wasn't sure what he expected to see beyond the elevator doors, but it definitely was not a ******** fancyass marble ******** CUSHY penthouse with everyone sitting around like some kind of intervention. He had been hoping for some kind of legitimate peril that might actually explain why Gale hadn't come back immediately. This peril appeared to have been missing out on a good old fashioned cuppa, typical ******** English b*****d forgetting about his Scottish allies for some sugar lumps and high tea.
Even through the exhaustion and pain, the anger sparked in the redhead and spread like the usual wildfire of righteous indignation. He stood up taller and clenched his fists BOTH of his fists - despite the staggering flash of pain that caused - and spoke, his voice at first low and dangerous.
"Oh aye, the last ones. Here for ******** tea, here for a ******** wee SIT DOWN." As he went his voice got louder and more shrill, on the verge of cracking.
"Oh don't ******** MIND US or anything." Rep snarled, teeth bared. "We'll just ******** BLEED on your ******** FANCY MARBLE ******** FLOOR WHOEVER THE ******** YOU EVEN ******** ARE." It was always women. Always women talking down to him, telling him to calm down, behave, to be reasonable. Well he didn't feel reasonable, his heart was still pumping mostly adrenaline and a lot less blood than it had earlier and he was absolutely livid.
For once he was blind to Cael and the respect he afforded the Death leader, all he could see was this woman patronizing him and Gale chilling out up here while he'd come a hair's breadth from death.
He staggered forward and seized the end of the table with his good arm. "******** THIS ******** SOIREE" And then with a twist, he made every single attempt with every bit of his strength to flip the damn thing and scatter the ******** insult to everything he'd just been through.

"I AM NOT SITTING DOWN TO HAVE TEA," Gale snarled, but he supposed the concept of arguing was pointless, because Rep seemed to be on the verge of a nervous breakdown, and Rep on the verge of a nervous breakdown usually meant more chaos.
Gale carefully and neatly stepped out of the direction of the table.

"It looks like you were having tea to me, too," Lucky added unhelpfully, still marvelling at Rep's beautiful handiwork.
