Jelanii laughed. "I'll try, but that the thing about adventures. They're unpredictable. But..." He hesitated then just went with his thought. "When I get back you'll definitely have to show me just how great a dancer you've become."

He found himself surprisingly relaxed around the girl. When had that happened exactly, he wasn't sure. He was pretty sure Kalli had some magic talent that she wasn't even aware she was using. The thought made him smile and they continued walking together hand-in-hand until they finally reached the outskirts of the forest. Jelanii's eyes widened at the sight of the house and suddenly he was pulling back.

A rush of emotions went through him, but he tapped them down, instead focusing on Kalli. He crouched down by the girl. "We're here it seems." He reached out and ruffled his hair. "Now get back and this and apologize for making your parents worry." He paused. "It was good...meeting you, Kalli."

Jelanii hugged Kalli back, but he didn't expect the kiss on his cheek. He blinked in surprise and then smiled. He felt a tightness in his chest which he ignored. Instead he smiled at the girl and nodded, afraid of what might happen if he opened his mouth. He watched her back away and gave one last wave, before sinking back into the jungle. He stood there for a while, watching to make sure she actually did make it inside, before turning away and heading deeper into the jungle.

Today had turned out to be a day full of surprises. Who would have thought he would have befriended an Oban child and that he might even, one day, see her again. He shook his head and adjusted his path.

He needed to focus. Azure had been left behind with Kalli. It was time to return back to being Jelanii. He pulled out his map and continued his trek to Oba.
