Flicking his tail in frustration, he let out another snort. This was ridiculous. Perhaps he should take a closer look at the rock with the runes.
He took his time, circling the rock. He looked it up and down and examined the runes more closely. The runes, when he examined them closer, yielded no further information. The rocks themselves, so far as he could tell, were of no importance at all.
With another sigh he set off once more.

It took some time, but eventually he made his way back to the clearing. He stopped and examined the stones here as well. Perhaps they would provide a clue as to which way he was supposed to go, but despite being laid out in a particular pattern, there was no hint as to the direction of his objective. He was simply going to have to find it on his own.

After staring at the stones in the clearing for some time, Gazer finally tried the one path he hadn't tried, the one with the increased amount of mist. It was very dense and hard to see anything, but eventually it began to clear some. When he was finally able to see clearly again he was in awe at what he found. Before him was a large tree. Stepping through the stone pillars surrounding the marble tree, Gazer felt the tug release him. This was what had called out to him through this mists. The marble tree was a beautiful sight to behold.
Coming to the base of the tree he examined the area around it. He was not the first to come here. At the base were markings in the ground, and they were fresh. He wondered who could have been here before. Perhaps it had been another curious soul who had felt the tug of the tree, or it could be something else entirely. He would never know, but the possibilities were endless.
With a grin, and a new pep in his step, Gazer took one last look at the magnificent marble tree surrounded by its pillars and turned to head back to the gala. This had been an exciting, and worthwhile adventure.
