[ Song : File City : Asura's House ]

"Awesome?" Song muttered hesitantly, mostly to herself, "I hope it's just that..." The only precedent Song could recall for the sort of ordeal the group was going through was fiction, and most of that fiction made a strong point of how fantasy world is more dangerous than fun.

Despite her uncertainties, though, Song knew she wasn't going to be going anywhere just sitting in the house. Curiosity overcame her fear in this case, encouraged by the thought, "I-I'll come along, too," Song replied, raising her hand again as she stood up, "Just give me a bit to pack everything." She dropped to a knee to accomplish just that. Once everything was acceptably stuffed into her bag, Song slung it over both shoulders and stepped up to Marineangemon, as she didn't know anything about this house. "A-anyone else?" she asked once ready, feeling a lot like when she was trying to get a full team of five for a league game.

{Bobbi .:. File City .:. Asura's House}

Things were happening all at once, so many people talking, shouting, laughing, and carrying on. A couple left, either through the front door or off to one side. The scene was devolving into "everyone showed up to the party at once" chaos, and Bobbi reverted into her wallflower mode. She made sure she had a firm grip on her Handbag of Holding and backed into one of the corners of the room where she could see everyone, watch their movements. Of course she giggled when someone said something amusing, but for the most part she held her peace, spending more energy on observance than participation.

And, of course, spending more energy than she ever wanted to on squashing the anxiety that always, always threatened and sometimes overwhelmed when she found herself in a larger crowd than expected. It wasn’t that bad this time, thanks entirely to so many people she knew being present, but it was still rising a little and she felt safer backing out just a little bit.

{James : File City : Asura's House}

"Nice to see you again too Mizu," James replied with a smirk to his friend's statement, and it was true. The young man always looked forward to the opportunity to see and spend time with any of his friends from either their roleplaying guild, or from Omaha. This definitely wasn't the setting he had anticipated for their next meeting though.

Despite this whole thing being in the digital world it was great to have friends who he had known for years. It was a wonderful opportunity to get to know them better and actually interact with them face to face. However, this world was hardly a safe place and the reality of the situation was very quickly setting in that it felt like their Heartfelt Adventure roleplay, only real.

'This could be really exciting... or really dangerous. Only one way to find out,' He thought as he stood up and stretched before he picked up his camo hat and slung his backpack over his shoulders.

"Guess we had better get this show on the road whenever everyone is ready. I don't know who that girl was but she had better not be left wandering on her own."

[ Luke, Asura, Karina : File City : Asura's House ---> Residential Area ]

"Alright then," Luke said hesitantly, suddenly having second thoughts on whether he wanted to risk facing whatever happened to be out there. But if it really was dangerous, he couldn't just sit by and let someone else rush into that danger, could he...? "Let's go, I guess.

"Weeee!" Asura cheered as she flew through the air, following Luke as he pushed against the already-opened door, widening their exit, and took his first steps outside.

He rose up a hand to shield his eyes from the morning light, but once they were adjusted, he gazed around in wonder at the small village before him. Houses which bore the appearance of multicolored boxes stood in a semicircular formation. There was no road, only grass growing between the homes, with small, neatly tended-to gardens in some of the lawns. Most of these gardens were growing not only vegetables, but also meat. No one was coming out of their homes or walking around the town yet, so he assumed it was still a bit too early for most people... No, not people - Digimon! Karina had said that she hadn't seen any other humans in a very long time, so these homes were obviously the homes of Digimon! Digimon houses! He still couldn't quite believe it.

The beginnings of dirt paths could be seen to the south, east, and west, leading to what he presumed were other districts of the town. And among all of this were trees - hundreds and hundreds of trees! They even acted as walls between the different sections of the city. And not the trees he was used to - Digital World trees! His mind was racing at what all of this meant, what even the simplest things he would find here could mean. But he couldn't let himself get carried away - they had come outside for a reason, after all.

"Hey!" he called out to the person who had left the house in a rush - one of the few that he hadn't recognized. He was trying to be assertive, not mean, and he immediately began to panic in his mind over whether or not he had made her upset or made her think he was angry. "You shouldn't have done that. I'm sorry if I came across too loud, but you have to understand that it could be dangerous out here. There are insects in this world that are bigger than a small house, you know."

"Oh, leave the poor girl alone," Asura said, waving one of her pink feathery wings. "Come on, Luke, I want to show you all something!" She tugged on Luke's plaid shirt before flying off toward the eastern road, which led to a more colorful side of File City.

"Okay, MarineAngemon," the man said with a smile. He waved his hand in a gesture for the others to follow the Digimon too, and took off at a jog toward the eastern road.

"Hey, just call me Asura, kid," she called back to him, laughing. Meanwhile, Karina continued to drink her tea in the kitchen and pretend none of the "kids" existed.

((Sorry it took so long! Anyway, hopefully we can get this thing moving again soon. I'll give everyone another chance to post for a while before making another post and moving us to the Primary Village. Any questions or suggestions you have between now and then? I would appreciate you posting them in EW's new OoC thread. Thanks! ^w^))

[Kyla: File City: (Dressing room?) Asuras house]

When Kyla finished her sketch based on what they found Aira gave it her seal of approval, with a few other touches. They quickly set to work and between them, the two girls were able to reconstruct what Kyla had on, and combine it with the scraps and old articles of clothing they found at their deposal. The result?

A patchwork that was pleasing to the eye and much better for outer excursions. Her night gown was altered and given an under layer to fortify it. Aira was a wizard with detailing, and using an old hoodie, she created new sleeves from some discarded shirts, and tore pieces of detailing from other things to breathe new life into it. She made sure the hoodie had some extra weight to it to protect Kyla’s head, since she insisted – NO HATS.
They hurt.
Finally something to run around in on Kyla’s legs; Leggings recut and given an interfaced top with buttons, to attach themselves to some slip on shorts underneath. After all-had to protect from any accidental fluttering right?
When the room opened again Kyla felt much better.

“Thanks Aira, it looks great. I didn’t think we were able to recycle these worn sandals- but well go figure...” A worn down pair of sandals was remade with the straps removed and relaced with strips of heavier cloth and sealed with a buckle taken from a broken belt.

She looked around for Karina, seeing James had waited behind, “Sorry we took so long. " she turned in the directoin she figured Karina would be in the house-" we don’t mean to impose on you any longer miss. You’ve been more than generous. We made sure to waste nothing, thank you.” She checked her satchel before slinging it over her shoulders again.

“I hope it we didn’t lose the others. What do you say we go catch up then?”

(( Aira- File City - Asura's House)

If this was the really weird basketball anime with the super human dudes, then Aira would be totally in the "Zone" as they called it. Hands fluttered through the fabrics faster than most people, due to the fact she was made for speed sewing in the first place. Using a cross overlaying stitch for fastening and speed, the outfit whipped itself together in a good amount of time. Having full pieces to work with helps a lot though,

All the scrap bits from the cut up remains were used to stuff an extra small t-shirt to form a quick pillow. Hey, camping is probably be a thing so something for their heads is good enough. There is probably not that many digimon hotels, and those are usually haunted and nope not going into one of those.

When Kyla was dressed, Aira took one spin around the girl and nodded with approval. "It works, it fits, and I'm a boss." Self praising herself, and looking rather smug as usual, the girl walked out and noticed only a few remaining. Aira stared at James with a raised eyebrow. Why did he wait behind? He did look ready to go though.

"Everyone left? Well aren't they in a hurry. Yes this must be totally exciting and all, but haste makes waste and I prefer to keep my limbs intact thank you." She muttered to herself as she waited for Kyla to get completely ready and follow along with the group.

[ Song : File City : Asura's House ]

Only one other person responded to the summons before Luke and Marineangemon, or Asura as he/she/it preferred to be called, got the show on the road almost literally. When Song took her first step into the digital world, the lack of pathways connecting the various houses caught her off-guard. A city girl, this sort of picturesque gathering of living spaces was something the small Korean only saw in pictures. Her guard quickly dropping in this quaint environment, she casually commented, "It's quite pretty," to no one in particular.

When Song realized with a start that Luke and Asura had jogged quite a distance away from Katrina's home and, consequently, herself, she yelled out, "HEY! Wait up!" and started dashing towards the eastern road, one hand gripping her backpack so it didn't flop all over her back.

[ Luke, Asura : File City : Residential Area ---> Primary Village ]

"Oh!" Luke said, halting his steps for a moment and turning around to wait for his fellow volunteer. "Awesome, Song, I'm glad you're coming with us. The more the merrier!" Once she had caught up enough, he turned back around and continued to follow Asura, who had flown quite a bit farther ahead.

The rural appearance of the Residential Area was quite different from this new location. While the area was still grassy, its main difference was that there was actually a road here, stretching from the colorful gateway they were passing through and curving to run southward. The strange thing about this road was that, once one would step on it, they would find that its multicolored material was soft and squishy, making them bounce slightly when attempting to walk.

In the middle of this area they were entering was a very tall tree which seemed to be decorated with tiny ornaments of all colors. Surrounding this tree were many tiny things which could easily be mistaken for stuffed animals - if it weren't for the fact that these "stuffed animals" were crawling around on the ground! Upon closer inspection, one would find that they were, in fact, Fresh-level and In-Training-level Digimon.

Before noticing much of this, as they were crossing into this area, Luke craned his head up to examine the archway on the top of the open gate. In many different colors were painted the characters:

User Image*

It took a while for him to piece them together, but once he remembered most of the letters present on the sign, it was easy enough to guess what it said. Folding his left arm around his back and using the hand to grab his right wrist, he continued along, enjoying the slight sensation of defying gravity that came from the inescapable bounciness of the road. It was similar to the moon shoes his cousin had when he was a tiny child, and many blurry, vague memories entered his mind as he bounced along, steadily following their guide.

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

[ Calumon : File City : Primary Village ]

"Oh!" a tiny white Digimon exclaimed as it saw Asura flying toward its tiny shack. It had been lying down in a hammock strewn out between two trees on the edge of the Primary Village, singing songs to the young Digimon who were roaming around the grassy field, when it heard voices coming from the direction of File City's houses. It turned out that it was right! There was the familiar MarineAngemon, and following behind her...

"Ha!" it cheered, its face lighting up with a smile. It jumped out of its hammock and plodded across the wide-open lawn, covering the distance between itself and Asura as quickly as possible. "Ha! Are those what I think they are?" it asked excitedly, pointing to the humans before jumping up and down and spinning in circles, forming a rambunctious dance. "I haven't seen a day like this since... since... Well, never, actually! Whoopee!" It continued to dance, laughing all the way.

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

[ Karina : File City : Asura's House ---> Residential Area ]

Once the older woman finished her cup of tea, she set it down on the counter a bit more forcefully than was necessary, and finally turned around, listening for voices in the house.

"Asura?" she called out, though no answer came. Without hesitation, she returned to the living room, finding it still full of younger humans, but minus one MarineAngemon. "Well, wouldn't you know it? That noisy old hag went and left without me! You'd think she could wait for her best friend!" Some might find these statements confusing, as Karina had previously been adamant about staying in the house regardless of what anyone else did. After taking in a deep breath and letting it out in a loud "huff", she shook her head and headed for the door.

"All right, you moochers, time to get off your asses!" Karina shouted, turning to gaze around the room. "I don't want you in our house anymore, so you might as well stop being pains in the a** here and start being pains in the a** over at the village with the rest of your friends! I need to talk to that stubborn crone Asura anyway, so follow me if you're lost - but no touching anything, especially me!" And with that, she stepped outside, though once she got out of the doorway, she turned around and peeked inside, waiting to make sure all of her unwanted guests would exit.

((Important note: As soon as your character passes through the gate, s/he will feel the same tug that s/he felt when s/he was transported to the Digital World! It will be much stronger, however, and will feel as if there is a mighty force pulling at your heart (figurative one, not your literal one. That would get real messy real fast lol). The force is pulling you toward the tree in the center of Primary Village, where there are many, many Digi-Eggs resting at its foot, in its hollow, and in its branches.))
((*The Digicode characters read "PRIMARY" on the first line, then "Village of Beginnings". If you don't know how to read Digicode IRL, you wouldn't be able to read any of it, though that's not the purpose of it in the first place. I just thought I'd add little things like that to add a little immersion factor. What do y'all think? Cool idea? Or am I just being too much of a cheese ball here? Always willing to listen to everyone's opinion.))

{Bobbi .:. File City .:. Asura's House >> Residential Area}

Bobbi decided to stay behind as Luke followed the other person who's name she had either missed or already forgotten. And the floating pink thing... MarineAngemon? She could barely remember if she'd seen that particular Digimon when she was marathoning every season she could get her hands on last year. Then again, she could also barely remember breakfast.

Bobbi's decision mostly stemmed from the fact that while the others were chattering, she had started rummaging in her bag to make sure she still had everything. Luckily, she'd just restocked her "First Aid" kit the other day, complete with a bottle of aspirin. Her ex, who had some experience with medicines and whatnot, had told her before that aspirin wasn't a good thing to keep in a first aid kit, considering if it wasn't stored in a cool, dry place, that could cause the medicine to expire or loose potency much faster. She frowned at it, wondering if she should keep it. She also wondered why she'd decided to buy a bottle of the stuff in the first place. She never took aspirin for anything, it was either ibuprofen or Tylenol, with the occasional dose of Midol for the monthly Infernal Incantation of Cramps.

She shrugged and put the kit back together neatly, then stuffed it back into its compartment. Everything else was intact, nothing was broken or missing... All in all, if she had been hit by a car like she thought she'd been, she got off lightly. Again.

One of these days I'll learn how to cross a street, she thought, wryly, just as the lady of the house started barking orders and insults. Bobbi slung her bag over her shoulder into its comfortable carrying position and followed the old woman out.

Looking around at the village, Bobbi smiled faintly. Bright colors, nothing looking even remotely house-like, soft green grass with barely any roads... It was just about what she remembered from watching the show. However, that didn't mean she knew her way around. She'd been much more interested in the plot than the geography, after all. So she stuck around by the cranky lady--whose name Bobbi had also forgotten if she'd ever learned it--and waited for the rest of the group to pile out.

"Thank you for your hospitality, miss," the brunette said, bowing her head slightly and giving her best cashier's smile to the woman. "We greatly appreciate it."

[ Song : File City : Asura's House ]

The road was bouncy. The. Road. Was. Bouncy. As much as she enjoyed going "flump," "whump," and even "wheee," over the the bouncy road, it just did not compute in Song's mind. Song wondered as she raised her hands in silent exasperation. She was trying to logic the digiworld, which was clearly the first thing she was doing wrong. She sort of recognized this, but didn't care. She needed to do something to distract her from the fact that she was stuck in some weird place. Yes, she still had not quite completely gotten over the whole world travel thing. It was her way of doing things. She'd seem to adapt quickly one moment and then regress the next. Part of it was just part of the coping process. Although, a decent chunk was also because it was kind of... fun? Song didn't really know how to explain it, but as she looked at her reactions objectively, she found herself funny? Something weird like that. Song was just weird, but then again, everyone else here probably was, too.

"Oh. Weird fantasy language," came the inevitable comment on the Digital World sign. Song confirmed, as she stuck a tongue out of the side of her mouth in a... sort of... I-don't-know-what-to-do motion. It was only because of her bad vision, even with glasses on, that the sign was the first thing Song noticed. She had been keeping her eyes trained on the wooden board since she first saw it had words on it. Now she was standing below it, in the hopes that maybe there was English in very small text on it. Then again, Japanese was probably the most likely translation to be present if there were to be any seeing that Digimon originated from Japan. With a sigh of defeat, Song's eyes lowered to look at the field. From afar, it had just seemed like the usual field with some colorful spots and a large tree. If Song wasn't expecting weird stuff to begin with, the colorful spots may have attracted her attention, but she had just initially waved them off as mini bouncy blocks stuck in the grass or something like that. She didn't know. She was standing on a bouncy road for crying out loud.

Now that she was literally standing in front of the meadow, though, Song realized with a gasp what the colorful spots had been. Filling the clearing were what she figured was baby Digimon. Some, she recognized. Many, she didn't, but almost all of them shared that spherical baby evolution, or whatever it was called, design that Song could recognize. Then, immediately around, in, and even on the tree were innumerable eggs. This, like most things, Song did not remember, but it seemed to fit.

Shocked, surprised, and even... entranced? Song, as was usual when she was excited, tunnel-visioned on the cute baby Digimon and the colorful Digieggs just hanging around, in some cases literally, the tree. She did not notice Calumon and Marineangemon getting friendly. "So cute!" Song exclaimed as she looked down at the baby Digimon all around the meadow. Normally, she would have knelt to try and touch some of them. However, there was something, some kind of pull on her heart that she fully didn't realize. She was too excited to completely analyze the force, and didn't realize that she was walking to the tree in the center little by little all while staring at the small Digimon around her.

[[Saeran : File City : Asura's House >> Residential District]]

Sei, while certainly not intending to be rude to Karina, had apparently overstayed his welcome when he waited in the house for the others to get ready, besides, he'd hoped to snag a chance to talk with Karina further when the others were off exploring and getting the grand tour outside. Sure, he was pretty excited himself, he couldn't deny that, but he had to be responsible and have priorities.

As he left the building after the woman along with Bobbi, Sei echoed her sentiment, repeating the same, "Yes, thank you. Sorry to have... barged in on you like this," he paused and added sheepishly under his breath, "Not that we had a choice in the matter, but whatever."

Around this point, he started taking in the scenery, not entirely what he expected. It was so nature-y, part of him thought being as advanced as the... real- could he really refer to where they came from as that, seeing things as they were now... this was real too wasn't it? His thoughts came to an abrupt halt and changed direction as he shook his head, looking at the road overrun with grass and small weeds, brushing a blade beneath his shoe, taking moment to appreciate something that simple, yet, digital. This was all programming right? How could someone manage to create this... or maybe someone didn't. If he remembered correctly, wasn't the digital world originally supposed to be a really simple program... like a primitive AI? Is this what it did once it built up momentum? He couldn't help but think of dot.Hack// and the entity named Aura.

After letting his mind jump from one tangent to the next in a matter of a few seconds, he looked to Bobbi bumping into her shoulder with his while throwing her a smile and leaning over as he walked in a playful manner, "Did you forget anything?"

[ Karina : File City : Residential Area ---> Primary Village ]

"Well, everybody ready? Let's move it!" After barking that order, Karina made her way slowly to the East, through the gate to the village, without checking to see that the others were behind her.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

[ Asura, Calumon, Luke : File City : Primary Village ]

"Yep, they're humans!" Asura replied with a wide grin as she flew closer to the cute little critter running toward her. "You're really excited, aren't you, Calumon?"

"Yeees!" Calumon cheered, continuing its dance. "Does this mean what I think it means, Asura? That everything's going to change? What do you think is going to happen?"

"I'm not sure. I don't even know what they're supposed to do. All I know is that they must have been called here by Digimon."

"Ohh..." Calumon ceased its dance and stared at the humans who were already headed toward the tree in the middle of the village. "I think you're right, Asura!"

Luke had wanted to hear the conversation between the Digimon, but found himself walking toward a huge tree without willing himself to do so. He could swear that something was calling to him, but he couldn't hear anything. Before long, he found himself kneeling down in front of one of the eggs lying on the hill under the tree's shade. He picked it up and held it in his hands, turning it around and examining it closely as if he had never seen an egg before in his life. Eventually he held it close to his chest before getting up and turning back around to Asura and her Calumon friend.

"Is this... what I think it is?" The two Digimon nodded vigorously, and a huge, dorky smile appeared on the young man's face as he returned his attention to the Digi-egg. "Okay... Whenever you're ready to be born. I'm ready." Not worried about being judged for speaking to an egg, he flopped down on his rear end and waited to see what would happen.

((You can roleplay your egg hatching whenever you want. For those who are following Karina, the same tugging effect described in my previous post will happen to all of you once you enter Primary Village. If anyone has any questions/comments, post them in the EW OoC and I will get to them ASAP!))

{Bobbi .:. File City .:. Residential Area >> Primary Village}

"Egad!" Bobbi cried, playfully and dramatically flinging a hand to her forehead and pretending to faint mid-stride, "recovering" quickly so she could keep pace. "I left my toothbrush! And deodorant! And my underwear! Seriously, though, it’s gonna get rank if we still have bodily functions here." She pulled the Handbag of Holding around to her front and began rummaging through again, pulling out various items as she listed them, and putting them back in place as she moved on to the next.

"I’m pretty well stocked, though. Got bandaids and neosporin and aspirin—no idea why I have aspirin, I don’t use it—and ibuprofen and pads and … why the ******** do I have a fork in here?"

As they walked and Bobbi enjoyed the springy surface of the road, she felt a pulling sensation not unlike what she felt whenever she was coming close to people. There was always a pulling and a pushing on her heart when she wasn’t alone, but this time the pull was considerably stronger. It wasn’t strong enough to startle her—rather, it was about the strength of the pull she felt around people she was emotionally close to, such as her parents or her best-friend-slash-ex-boyfriend. As such, she didn’t think much about it, but it let her know subconsciously which way to go. Not that there were many distractions to lure her from the path Karina was leading them on. She could simply glance up—and did so often so as not to run into anyone or anything—to see where they were going. It was getting stronger, though, and as they passed through a gate with odd writing she couldn't read, the pull became much sharper, stronger, and Bobbi experienced that same flash she had before coming to the Digital world, only not as overwhelming. More like a memory of the experience than anything.

The brunette slowed and eventually stopped, despite the insistent tugging on her heart beckoning her on towards the enormous tree. She stared at it, frowning, not sure what to make of the tug. Even though she had a good idea of what it was from the Digimon anime, she couldn't be sure. She immediately distrusted the feeling. It was definitely strong, and she knew if she listened to it she'd get wrapped up in some awesome adventure. Normally, she'd be all over that. And if it was just herself at risk, she'd have jumped all over the opportunity just like she could see Banshee doing. But "adventure" meant danger, and she couldn't justify leaping headfirst into an anime plot when there were others here that she should be keeping out of harm's way. She had no idea who or how many, but at least some of the people here had to be mere children, right?

But at the same time, so many of them were adults, at least two of them older than she was, not counting Karina. She had to take that into consideration as well. Normally, from what she understood of the anime, it was children called to the Digital World because of their boundless imaginations and pure hearts. And she was honest enough to admit that her imagination was anything but "boundless," and though she knew her heart was strong, if slightly cracked, she wouldn't call it "pure" by any definition. Which begged the question:

"Why are we here?" she asked, a little more sharply and loudly than she intended. She sounded angry, even to her own ears, but that was the farthest emotion from her heart at the moment. Really, what she was was scared. Not so much for herself, but for everyone else.

What did the Digital World have in store for them?

(( Aira - File City - House to Primary Village))

"We are off to see the wizard! The wonderful wizard of oz!" Aira cheerfully sung with a very off-tone beat as she skipped out of the house, door swung open as the rest of the people along with herself was escorted to wherever they are suppose to be going. She of course waited for Kyla to hurry along in her new get-up, and once they are ready they press forward.

"Come on Kyla! Death awaits us!" The fun and time she will have with the wonderfulness of DEATH. Oh of course, getting eaten by some digimon, or even death from falling from a cliff, all the wonderful things to be had! "It will be fun~ The cycle of life and death continues, we will live, they will die." This was chirped out in a fashion that is too much joy to be normal.

After travelling down the roads and towards the location everyone is going to, Aira could be heard happily chanting weird mantras and terms like "Don't get ganked!" or "Don't face-check!" and the occassional weird one like "Ready to set the world on fire?" Of course, most of these were meant to be taken not very seriously, except the one about being ganked. That is very important and one should always keep a check on their rear.

The feeling of needing to get to a place, especially somewhere in the digiworld, now that's already sent off enough trope radars.
Once caught to everyone else, Aira took a quick glance around to spot the multiple eggs around. Ah. Bingo. "Hmmm, if I was a digi egg, that would correspond to my personality, opposite or similar or supporting, it would be the one either hiding out of sight so it doesn't get trampled, or the one being an a*****e." Well first...

Taking a quick start to the sprint, the girl rushed to the top where there was the large tree, and promptly tripped on a particular egg. "That one!" She called out muffled, her face planted straight into the ground. That's the one that her partner is, the one who is just there at the right time.

[ Song : File City : Residential Area ---> Primary Village ]

Several voices broke Song out of her daze, and she stopped in her tracks to watch everyone else. Banshee, as she was accustomed to thinking of him, seemed to have the best idea out of everyone about what was expected as he had promptly picked up an egg and sat down patiently with it, all ready and expectant for it to hatch. Mizu did the same, and her question resonated with Song, even though she had thrown her caution to the wind just a little bit ago. Shortly after Bobbi, Song piped in, "Actually, I would like to know why, too." The "Why?" that Bobbi asked reminded Song that she was in a strange world and these things, at least in fiction, rarely happened for a reason. Then again, was she supposed to apply the rules of fiction to her current situation? Was that really a safe thing to do? This wasn't some constructed plot created by an author, so what happened didn't necessarily need a reason. At least, Song had no evidence for or against that theory.

What she did know, was that thanks to a fellow LoL player, who had arrived right behind Mizu but with Kyla trailing after her was that she suddenly had the itch for wards. Song shivered as the other player tripped over an egg and fell flat on her face, Back when Song would constantly die while overextending for wards were dark days, indeed. Granted, her current days in league were still dark. She'd never been able to improve up to the level of her friends no matter how hard she tried.

After warily staring at the bushes surrounding the clearing--she had sort of stopped looking at Karina when a certain someone fell flat on her face--and wondering if wards or something like wards had become a thing in later seasons of Digimon, Song's mind returned to the question of "why" and if "why" was even a thing. Judging from how Luke had near instantly picked out one egg from all the rest, Song had to wonder if the pull she had been feeling was leading her to her own egg. The girl that had come in shortly after Bobbi, it appeared, had a similar opinion, as she picked up an egg and claimed it as her own promptly after tripping over it. A part of Song wished she could be that sure. She wished but,
All that for just some monsters in a game. Now, that same feeling was filling Song, but it was for real life instead. She had to be absolutely sure that she picked right. Perhaps it was a blessing in disguise that she knew practically nothing about Digimon outside of vague memories of the first season, or else she would be fussing over not just which egg was "destined" for her but also which one was statistically the best, and even the one guilty of such thoughts had to admit that it was immensely rude and unfair for the Digimon to think like that. Song's thoughts returned to the question about the existence of the "why" question, <'Digi-destined' was a thing in the show but this isn't the show and… and… and… and I'm just going around in circles.> Her head had become jammed between her hands at this point as Song directed all of her thinking power to the futile question. It was becoming too much. She didn't want to think about it anymore. She forced herself to let go of both the question and her head and found other things to think about. she asked herself with a sigh,

The pull that was begging for Song's attention was still there, but she wanted answers first. Giving up on trying to remember if the third season of tamers started with eggs, she turned to face Karina and Marineangemon once more, hoping that she hadn't missed the answer while distracted with other things.
