"A passing acquaintance once told me vipers were misunderstood creatures and posed no harm so long as they were not disturbed," Vyrikyr countered. "And if they truth hurts you may want to reconsider your priorities."
Chrysoar blinked processing what the water bound soquili (and hey - when did he get to the party anyways?) had said. "Oh man....Wait- Lori and...and..." he realized he hadn't been listening close enough to get her name. "And her? Really? I mean, I know Lori must have great taste with everything he knows about hooking guys up and all....so I guess I kinda get it..."
"Uping that bet by 10..." he muttered to his co-conspirator.
"I don't know who I'm worried about more, them or you guys," Rio muttered frowning, mostly to himself.
"Is clearly!" Gregor declared slapping the water with front hoof.
Amaranth offered a shy smile, "You...really are a good listener. Thank you for that. It helped a bit, honestly, to get some of that off my chest. It's been a very long...journey."

Lori continued to smile at Vyrikyr. "Would it make you happy to see me suffer?"
Rynga nodded a bit to Silver, watching the interaction intently.
"Things are starting to get kinky," Juan cackled.
Pinzin offered the blue mare a smile, realizing only after he had started that it was perhaps not a good idea. Many found his stitched smiles... disturbing. He wiped the smile away before it could upset her.

"I would see one more ounce of truth in the world," she said sighing. "That is what I strive for."
"Well truth is important, so is love, so is adventure!" he bounced with excitement. "Well it looks like we're all in agreement here, let's have a drink."
"Oh, and side bet - tree boy takes at least one accidental swing for being too close," he whispered to Ringa.
Rio blinked, again trying to figure out the best way out of this situation.
Gregor had to agree. There certainly were few kinks to relationship. But those could be smoothed over in time.
Amaranth frowned misunderstanding his expression, "Of course I can understand that it might be a little...tedious to listen to someone drone on about their problems. Sorry about that..." She thought for a few moments and offered, "It would only be fair for you to tell me a little about yourself, if you were so inclined."

"One more truth," Lori mused. "Very well... You are a lovely, brave, courageous, self centered lady."
"Huh.... the rabbit bites... sorta... does that really count as an insult?" Rynga asked, curiously. "I think the golden airhead will get matching black eyes."
"Gotta love a lover's spat. Insults are lacking, though..."
Pinzin blinked at her and shook his head slightly. Did she not see the stitches? Or did she think they were decoration?

"Self centered?" she scoffed. "I live for my family - to protect them, to see to their happiness, to exceed their expectations...how can you call me self centered?"
"Well, I for one certainly agree on 3 out of the 4 points," Chrysoar cut in again with a hopeful grin.
"I hear black and gold are quite fashionable right now," Silverwing commented dryly.
"Add a bloody nose to the list after that last comment," Rio muttered unbelievable still of this situation.
"No, no - is most clear," Gregor explained to his new little friend. "She has clearly wounded him in the past but he still holds her in great regard. Unfortunate she can not see that nor does she see the hurt she cause him so she goes on about her truth and justice while he just wants to be restored to what was. Is most sad story really, almost bring tear to Gregor eye."
"Or...not," she said softly. "Sorry, I'm not very good talking to...well..men. That's a long story thought." She sighed, "Very long so um never mind. Sorry to have bothered you."

"I call you self centered, my dear, because you are willfully blind to anything but your own truth," Lori said simply, his tone still casual and friendly. He ignored Chrysor, focused on the mare in front of him. "You inflict pain and call it truth, patting yourself on the back while you float on your high cloud. The view, I'm certain, is quite lovely up there. However, us mere mortals must muddle through as best we can, down here on the ground."
"Oh, very fashionable," Rynga agreed. "Baldness, too."
"Very tragic," Juan agreed solemnly, hiding his grin.
Pinzin shook his head, wishing he could reassure the mare that she was fine. He didn't mind listening. What else was he going to do?

"So this is the next step," she said solemnly. "When you can no longer bluff your way through on some fantasy perfumed cloud of love you strike out. Suit yourself," she sighed. "You are right about once thing, I do live for the clouds and soaring above the world, but not to look down upon it - but to see more of it, to learn from it, foreign concepts to you - to be sure. Cower, strike out, pretend - whatever it takes - suit yourself. It's too bad, at one point I thought you had a great deal of potential, but I suppose like many things I was wrong about that as well."
Chrysoar stood there speechless, perhaps for the first time in his life. He could not believe what his friend had said, or what was said back to him in return.
"Dang, I think he's getting torn up more than you ever have been," Silverwing glanced at his friend then back to the prancy pink one. "It's almost an insult to us..."
"I'm starting to think you guys are the types of stallions my family warned me about," Rio muttered in the chatty pair's direction.
"Yes, is great tragedy," Gregor agreed.
She blinked and glanced at him curiously, noting he'd said not one word the entire time they'd stood together, "Um..." she started slowly not wanting to be rude. "Do you talk?"

Lori's smile finally fell and his expression went flat. "Paint me how you like, Vyrikyr. It's clear that nothing I say or do will change your opinion of me. If a villain will make you happy, so be it," he said, turning away from her. Never before had he dismissed anyone, but he also believed in not exposing himself to poisonous influences. He had fought too hard for what happiness he had managed to glean. He didn't need another to take it away.
Rynga frowned a bit, watching the pink stallion turn away. "I dunno, Silver.... that looks a bit too close to the heart for me." Rynga may have been an incorrigible flirt, but he still took matters of the heart seriously.
Juan cocked his head slightly. This was turning out to be too serious for his liking. He contemplated how to lighten things.
Pinzin, oblivious to the drama, shook his head.

Vyrikyr sighed and repeated once more, "Suit yourself."
Chrysoar blinked slowly and followed along after his friend, "Hey - hey - you okay buddy?"
"Yeah, yeah, I know," Silverwing said quickly. "But that's just it. You and I have both had spats with girls - but nothing so...serious. Think we're doing something wrong?"
"I think this entire night has pretty much been a wrong choice," Rio muttered, mostly to himself at this point. But at this point he was just pleased to not have the mini trying to cling to him still.
"Alas, it seems this play was more tragedy than comedy - if it were comedy, we would see happy lovers unit," Gregor commented quietly. "Is too bad, Gregor always prefer comedy."
Amaranth closed her eyes tight feeling completely mortified, "I am so sorry, and such a fool."

Lori flashed Chrysoar a smile. "Nothing time won't cure."
Rynga frowned a bit. "I don't think we're evoking the same level of passion.... maybe this pink fellow IS a master of some sort..."
"Me, too, buddy," Juan sighed. "Tragedies are so tragic."
Pinzin shrugged a bit. It was a common mistake, really.

"Man...we need to find a new watering hole," Chrysoar let out a low whistle before glancing over at Pinzin. "Oh you have GOT to be KIDDING ME. He got a girl!"
"s**t..." he muttered under his breath. "We need to up our game."
Rio glanced between the red and blue stallions, "I...I think you guys might need to work on your priorities as well."
"Indeed," the stallion agreed. "I much prefer clowns that do not cry."
"You are handling this...quite well," she commented when she dared to sneak a peak at him. "But I am sorry again, it was foolish of me to prattle on so."

Lori followed Chrysoar's gaze. "At least someone is happy."
Rynga nodded solemnly. "This cannot be allowed to continue!"
"Sad clowns are the worse," Juan agreed.
Pinzin snorted dismissively.

"I just...don't even understand. How did that happen?" Chrysoar tilted his head trying to force his brain into understanding. It failed.
"First we need to find some lovely ladies of more than strong temperaments," Silverwing stated. "Though," he continued in a quiet voice. "Perhaps not that one." He nodded to the still fuming Vyrikyr.
"How do you guys watch an exchange like this and think abut girls?" Rio demanded in shock.
"Indeed, we should think about way to make clowns laugh once more. Is most sad right here."
Amaranth blinked and regarded her conversational partner with a bit more shrewdness, "Then perhaps you mean to indicate listening to me going on wasn't too tedious?"

"I'm afraid I wasn't watching... I was somewhat preoccupied."
Rynga stared at Rio incredulously. "How can you watch an exchange such as that and NOT think of ladies?"
"Pie?" Juan suggested, though where he would get pie he didn't know.
Pinzin nodded a confirmation.

"Right, right!" Chrysoar said quickly before adding, "Sorry..sorry..."
"And our comparably lack luster effort," Silverwing added.
"You two are something else..." the stallion said slowly.
"No thanks, Gregor already have many fish," he replied. "Makes most delicious meal."
"Oh," she said blushing slightly. "Well, thank you for that." She paused for a moment to consider how she could further draw him into conversation if that was his inclination. "I have already told you that I am something of a stranger to these lands what about you? Are you from around here?"
