Pheonix landed with an impact which, if not shattered the earth, definitely made it wobble a little. He was no light-weight- heavy as a rule of his species and larger than many trainer-raised Charizards, he also had the added weight of a trainer on his back.

Emalthya shook her feet loose from Pheonix's harness and leapt to the soft grass. Anyone might think the black harness slung across his belly and down his back stretched up to his face, at a far glance, but no, he simply had recessive rare markings.

"Would you like me to hang onto the harness or you?" asked Emalthya while she untied her scarf and took off her goggles and, wrapping the scarf around the goggles, put both in the pocket of her hooded jacket, which she then shrugged off and shoved gracelessly into her backpack along with her riding gloves. It was cold when you flew at the speeds Pheonix was capable of and she had to grip the harness to stop falling off.

Pheonix grumbled evenly and shrugged, meaning he didn't mind carrying the harness.

"That's fine," replied Emalthya, unlatching an umbrella, the last thing attached to the harness, and popping it open to use as a sun shade while settling the backpack across her own shoulders again. "Are my bows on straight?"

Pheonix cast a critical eye over his trainer's decorative bow hair-clips. He wasn't a very fashion-forward pokemon- no-one could have said that about him- but he was very against making a fool of himself, or allowing Em to make a fool of herself. Saphire, of course, as a pokemon of grace, beauty, and wisdom, would never, ever make a fool of herself and so she didn't require concern. As a previously very small pokemon, Pheonix remembered being a little clumsy and not big enough to do things and Emalthya was prone to what she called 'wardrobe malfunctions', a term he understood to encompass a whole variety of things from cosmetics to accessories, as well as just clashing with something or having someone else wear the same thing.

So, with due diligence, he measured with his eyes the distance of each bow and frowned, shaking his head.

Emalthya sighed, took both bows out, and put them back in, both a hand's breadth above her ears, a feat accomplished with the umbrella up and in the crook of one elbow.

Pheonix made an encouraging, approving sound and they both of them took in their surroundings.

"Lots of people here," Emalthya observed.

Pheonix looked around at the pokemon he could see, wondering if there were any to contend with his size and ability.

"I wonder what we'll see," said Emalthya with some excitement, grinning at Pheonix, who, caught glaring at the other pokemon, suddenly showed all his rather frightening teeth and nodded, in what he intended to be a cheerful and equally excited way.

Jorge mentally praised herself for keeping a straight face when organizations were mentioned. If it was a failed experiment, it certainly wasn't from her organization. Did that mean that there was possibly a rival organization involved? She was smiling so hard, her jaw was starting to hurt.

"Well it's so nice to meet you Gormlaith," she said.

Jorge cleared her throat and nudged at her grumpy Vaporeon with her foot when Gormlaith picked up the Eevee. Layla grumbled to herself.

"As for the rumors... an experiment sounds so scary! I can't imagine that criminals would let it go that easily though..." Jorge hummed thoughtfully. "I've heard whispers that it's a psychic pokemon playing tricks on those wandering through the grasslands. I think it's more believable than a pokemon that can grant immortality... but I still think it'd be so cool if it turned out to truly be a new pokemon!"

Rhei tried to hold back the look of surprise on her face as the younger of the girls curtsied to her. Her immediate impulse was to curtsy back, silly as she felt, but she wasn't wearing a skirt. Instead, she dipped her head to each in turn. "It's nice to meet you, both of you," said Rhei. She held out a hand for the psychic pokemon to examine if they chose - if palm reading was something they were interested in, anyway. Rhei didn't know if psychic pokemon had an interest in such a thing, or if it was just an interest held by a select few psychic people. Her mother had become an amateur/fraud after she'd gotten her Ralts, but eventually the poor thing rolled its eyes at her enough that she stopped. Rhei had only been a young girl then, barely old enough to recall soft fingers tracing tickles over the lines of her palm. "And you, Asphodel and Kumiko, as well." The Ralts's enthusiastic greeting was enough to make her grin, even if she couldn't understand what it was saying.

Turning her eyes back to Ai, Rhei raised an eyebrow. "Yes - Bennet," she said, "but with one T and two N's, if yours is different? My full name is Rheiannon Bennet-Fairchild, but it's kind of a mouthful to say, so I just stick to Rhei Bennet. My family is from Hoenn. Is the Bennett Company based here?" Was she actually related to someone from Zatao, or was this young woman from Hoenn, too? Rhei knew little about her mother's family; her mother and father had abandoned the busy city life and traded it for the serene lushness of Fortree, and she had only rarely seen her grandparents. She had never met her mother's brothers and sister, if they were still alive. Every one of them had set out on a pokemon journey and been heard from only seldom since their teens. Maybe one of them had wandered off to Zatao when it had begun to be colonized... Of course, if this young woman's last name wasn't spelled the same, it was probably a different story altogether, but it still would be a funny coincidence.

Shaun hadn't noticed the other trainer approaching until a voice spoke up near him. He turned to look at the speaker with a smile. "Hi, Jamie! I'm Shaun, and thank you." Then he noticed the pokemon sitting next to her. "Oh, I see you have a Houndoom!" Immediately he pulled a digital camera out of one of his vest pockets and held it up. "Would you mind if I got a few pictures of it? I'm a Watcher, trying to collect pictures of different pokemon, and I don't have any of a Houndoo yet."

Salvo had stopped walking once Shaun began talking. He'd been with Shaun long enough to know that if Shaun was talking to someone who was standing still, he wanted to be still as well so they could keep talking without Shaun having to yet or the other person having to follow after. So he waited patiently, turning his head to look at the trainer and her pokemon.

Jaime grinned, thankful she had found someone else that was equally as nice and outgoing as she was. "You sure can!" Doom was visibly apprehensive about the foreign object, but she placed her hand on the flat of his head and moved to the side regardless. This communicated to him that he should remain where he was and not follow her, which she knew was very difficult for him to do, given his personality.

It was still strange to her that she ended up with a Pokemon that was so unlike herself. Typically she saw that Pokemon and their trainers meshed together, somehow seeming to have the same kind of personalities. But with Doom it was altogether the opposite. Not that she minded. While she waited for Shaun to snap the picture, she bounced around a bit, eager to find information. "Do you happen to know what's going on? Like, I know the rumors circulating, but everyone's here, that has to mean something, right?" She tilted her head a bit in question awaited an answer, hoping he had more insight than she did.

"Thanks," Shaun said. He slid off Salvo, adjusted the setting son his camera, and started taking pictures. "I haven't heard much myself, just that there's an unusual pokemon here. Legends say it can grant immortality, but I haven't heard of any pokemon who can do that. It would probably be pretty powerful, if it were true." He shifted around as he spoke, looking for better angles for his pictures. The pokemon seemed wary of his camera, so he stayed a respectful distance away and used the zoom lens to get clearer shots.

"Whether or not there's such a pokemon around, I figure it couldn't hurt to look," Shaun continued."At best, I'd get a chance to take pictures at such an unusual pokemon. At worst, I haven't been to the Grasslands yet, so there'd probably be pokemon here I hadn't photographed before. And that would be true even if so many people hadn't shown up to investigate." He gave an unconcerned shrug.

Nodding eagerly, Jaime realized sadly that Shaun knew no more about the situation than she did. She glanced around, looking for someone else who seemed a bit more knowledgable. Although Shaun did seem like a pretty likable character, and she rarely got to interact with others of her own age. She leaned over and patted Doom on the head reassuringly, glad her Pokemon was finally acting good in public.

Glancing around, she looked back at Shaun. "I wonder if we could find someone who knows something about the Pokemon! That would certainly help in getting pictures of it, wouldn't it?" Appealing to the Watcher side of him, she smiled warmly. She hadn't thought about the fact that she hadn't traveled the Grasslands yet either; strange how she had kind of abandoned the Trainer side of her within the last few years. She really did need to get on that, and exposing Doom to more, civil, battles again. Shrugging that off, Jaime realized this was neither the time nor place - she had better things to be wondering.

The Houndoom was quite well-behaved. It may not have been entirely happy with being photographed, but it was staying still and not making any trouble. While it was there (and not making other poses that he'd want to capture), he paused to fiddle with the filters on his camera, seeing how they looked in the lighting of this landscape.

At the question, he smiled up at Jamie over the camera. "Yeah, it would be nice to know more." He glanced around, wondering if anyone looked more authoritative on the subject. It was hard to tell what people were talking about though, with so many people all talking at once. Not to mention all the various pokemon calls. "But how to find someone? I guess just ask around?"

Cécile was thankful for the new chair his foster parents had given him. In grass as tall as this, his old one would have been tangled and trapped, his movement even more restricted than it normally was. The day was warm and bright, he looked up at the clear sky. Not a cloud in sight and such a beautiful blue. Cercie's joyful cries drew him back to the grassy plains to which they had arrived. The spry little thing had grown and her energy along with her. She loved this place, so much space to run and play. Cécile smiled softly, watching her with a fond expression. His fear and doubt from the earlier weeks had just about completely melted away. He was still learning, of course, but his journal was growing heavier with new knowledge every day.

Which brought him here, of course. He had heard the rumors about this mysterious Pokémon. The Immortality Granter. Now, Cécile did not want to live forever. Why sit around and watch all of those you love and care for die? He wouldn't. However, if a Pokémon could do such a thing, maybe, perhaps he could learn a thing or two about healing from them.

Worst case scenario he would find some new plants along the way.

As they approached the field where the rumor pointed to, a noise that he had heard from before grew ever louder. There were so many people and Pokémon, the brunette was stunned. It was to be expected, of course, anything involving immortality was sure to bring out a crowd. Confused, he called Cersie over and asked her to stay close to him. The tiny deer nodded reluctantly. She wanted to go play, especially now that there were more friends to play with.

Curious, Cécile rolled himself forward, hoping to gather some useful information.

"Oh... Another Bennet, then," Ai said, somewhat disappointed. "The Company is based here, so there must be no relation. My mistake." She shot a glare at Kumiko; if it weren't for the mew, then she could have been on her way back home by then.

Kumiko enthusiastically investigated Rhei's hand, but he lost interest upon discovering that the hand held no treats. He drifted back toward Asphodel and attempted to paw at her sensitive horns again, giggling all the while.

Jaime was watching Shaun with a sort of quiet wonder at this point. It was really rather fascinating to watch someone do something they really loved like that, like Shaun seemed to be with photography. He was obviously knowledgable, displayed by the way he fiddled with his camera, and he clearly enjoyed it. And the way that his Tropius sat by patiently as if he was beyond used to this sort of behavior? Jaime was rather jealous that she'd never picked up a hobby that she fell in love with like that before.

At his Shaun's suggestion of asking around, Jaime once again glanced around her. Immediately she spotted a boy in a wheelchair with the most darling little Deerling striding by his side. Putting on her friendliest face, Jaime waved the other boy over, shouting a quick "Hi!" before realizing other conversation should probably wait until he was closer. She wanted to approach him to ensure she snagged a conversation, but she knew how bad of an idea that was with the current interaction between Shaun and Doom occurring. She wasn't sure how Doom would react and didn't really feel like testing the boundaries with the crowd of people around.

User Image Zephar watched from a distance as more and more people arrived in the grasslands. Another caught his attention the one riding a Charizard. Though seeing a female dismount from it, his spirits dropped. Well he wouldn't be seeing his brother here. Though the Charizard did remind him what his younger brother did say to him once. Something about finding a rare charmander and raising it into a Charizard. Memories of the past always seemed to catch him to him from time to him. Shaking his head he tried to focus at the task at hand.

Another arrived after the one upon the Charizard, this one was in a wheel chair. Deciding it was time to interact with others he approached this one. Coming off unsocial would be quite the give away in his aspect. He needed to blend in. "Beautiful day isn't it?" he questioned.

User ImageMagnolia froze up at the glare shot Kumiko's way, accidentally taking it as something directed at her. Glancing over her shoulder, she blinked and calmed a tad, but didn't fully bring down her defenses around the redhead. She seemed to have a bit of a problem with her chosen Pokemon and, while Magnolia too had qualms with the Psychic-type perched happily upon her head, she didn't make it as evident and open as Ai never seldom to make known. She hummed in thought, partly from this thought and also from the small exchange between Bennet to Bennett. It didn't register at first that Ai also came from money, but when Magnolia realized this, her walls were strengthened again with block and mortar.

She had escaped the life of the rich and, while their mannerisms and livelihood were still seared into her from her mother dearest, she willing sacrificed money in exchange for a more comfortable life. The fourteen year old looked on to the past she had with disdain and stigma, though she knew that, if she were to ever return to it, it would swallow her up again. James was her only anchor to a seemingly comfortable life and, when she realized this, she flushed a bit at her own thoughts. I really wish he was here right now... she mentally sighed. He makes talking to others so much easier.

"S-so, Ai, have you and Kumiko been together long?" Magnolia said, trying to force conversation. "And Rhei, was it? Do you have a Pokemon as well?"

Asphodel narrowed eyes at the Mew and stretched tiny hands up onto the top of her head, hunkering down from him for fear he may lay a nose or paw on her horns again.

Shaun watched Jamie head off towards someone else, and followed her gaze. Huh, he hadn't expected to see a wheelchair so far out in the wilderness. He hoped the boy would be alright in the grasslands. He left talking to him to Jamie for now and turned back to his photography. He found that if he knelt and angled the camera right, he could get a striking silhouette of the Houndoom's head and shoulders against the blue sky. He shuffled backwards on his knees to get a wider view and ended up with a nice shot of the pokemon sitting among the grass.

Salvo had, by this point, started nosing around the grasses and plants to see if they were tasty. He chomped a mouthful and chewed on it while he waited for Shaun.

Becka had been hanging back, she'd been drawn, like the others, to the idea of an immortality granter, being a Healer, anything to do with prolonging a healthy life was interesting to her but Raven, her Shinx, was very cautious around so many people and other Pokemon, having been abused by a bad trainer in the past. His confidence was better but he was still nervous around just so many people when usually he and Becka travelled alone, accompanied only by a young Blitzle lately, whom Becka had left at the last Pokemon Center to be cared for until she returned, she adored the Blitzle but Raven had been with her for a long time and, she figured the crowds would maybe help with his confidence issues, show him that he could be around larger numbers and still be safe.

Raven, never inside a Pokeball, was huddled against Becka's legs at the outskirts of the throng of people, Becka occasionally bending to give him a reassuring scritch behind his ears. "It's ok Raven, no one is going to hurt you, i promise" she murmured to him softly, looking around to see if there was anyone gentle looking to talk to, to see if there was more news. However no one seemed to want to pick up conversation with her so she just hovered around.

She did spot a young man in a wheelchair towards the front and made her mind up to talk to him later on if she could. Raven just stayed next to her legs, though beginning to relax when no one was really paying him any attention.
