Keionx was back at Etsalis booth. It was as if she couldn't keep away. Beastdad followed her, hopeful that eventually she would turn around talk to him, but so far... nothing.
Keionx took the next list and set out to find the items, shooting the orangeblood a glare - as well as something choice and unreadable for the rude redblood.
Beastdad followed her out into the crowd, not sure what was going on. It was clear he would have to approach her about this. Keionx? Can we talk?
Another 'not now' stuck on her tongue and stayed there, even as she saw the yellowblood with the staff reveal themselves in the crowd.
What was more important, showing up Etsali or her dad? The choice was hard.
But she felt that she made the right one as she turned to her lusus. "Dad... I'm sorry." she began, "It's just been... rough."
Rough how? She knows she can home home at any time, right? He will always love her. He's there if she needs her. Always.
"Except you weren't. That was my fault..." she felt her tears start, "But you weren't. And trolls got hurt because of that."
But Keionx... Zariah...
"TOLD ME, THOU SHOULDST!" she nearly shouted. She looked around warily and stepped closer to the muscular beast, "Thou... should have told me, Dad. About Zariah. About where you were going." she touched his wiry fur gently, feeling the defined muscles where his humanoid body met his hoofbeast body, "You should have told me. Then I would have been there... too..."
No! Beastdad gripped her shoulder. He wanted her there, where she had wanted to go. If she didn't believe in the rebel cause, she shouldn't go! Just because he felt strongly and Zariah felt strongly... That didn't mean she had to believe it too. And certainly not go to the punishment pits for it... The musclebeast shuddered. Not there. Not for his baby. Would that it had been neither of his babies...
Keionx bit her lip. "I..." she choked on her words, "I don't know what I want to do."
Beastdad pulled her into a hug. That was good. A hero needed to do this sometimes - to really think about what they were doing. She would find where she needed to go. He wanted her to follow her heart, he wanted her to be passionate about something, he wanted her to be happy, and to...
"Always do the right thing." she hugged him back. She was surprised that she didn't cry at the contact, but in reality, she just felt... odd.
Yes. Thats right. That was his girl. He snuggled her, and then drew back. So, what was this list that she was doing? His curiousity was piqued and now he had to know. It may have seemed abrupt, pulling away, but he and she both knew that something between them had been returned - the heart that was broken had been reforged.
"Oh! Yes." right, showing up Etsali. Keionx looked down the list. "Ah! Over there!" and before Beastdad could process what she was doing, Keonx went up to the distracted blueblood, crept up behind her (out of her friends sight), and undid the clasp of her locket. Quickly, she swiped it and stalked away.
Beastdad stared at his troll in horror. What had she done?
"Played the game." said Keionx, heading back towards the booth.
Beastdad trotted next to her. Was Keionx STEALING?! How could she do that?! After all he had taught her? Aver all this?
"I'm not stealing." she said. She didn't really entirely know what she was doing, but it wasn't stealing. She placed the item on the booth and moved on to the puzzle boxes.
Beastdad fidgeted nearby, very unhappy. His baby... stealing... what did he do? What could he do? He wanted his baby to stop this nonsense. Come home, he would put her right. He'd feed her and train her and she'd be back. She'd be his hero in no time flat.
Keionx ignored him as she worked the box open. "There." she said to Etsali, "Art thou so smug now?!" her tone was triumphant, "What was that about not keeping it up?!"
Beastdad looked away. His baby... His baby was different...

Name: Voscil Torgny Week Total: Vos: 12+3 (box opening)=15 Ryk: 2 Day Total: 2+3(box opening)=5
The Staff was first on tonights list of sweet digs to bring back to her buddies. This scavenger hunt sure was a lot of fun! studying the list a few times over, she went on the prowl for the goods. When she found the plumply pleasant yet indecisive older yellowblood and the red crystalline staff, she knew right away it was the troll she needed. Snatching the item before bolting away into the night Voscil felt an adrenaline rush coursing through her veins.
The silver heart shaped locket came neck, still in a full forced run Voscil snagged it as the blueblood argued with her friend leaving no time for the troll to argue. Somewhere in the back of her mind it occurred to her this might not be just a game. Sometimes when trolls would scream at her angrily she wondered, but decided quickly she trusted her buddies more than some strangers. The strangers could just shove it.
After she was done with her two item gathering, and making sure to not lead any potentially angry trolls right back to the orangeblood and redblood she bounced over to the booth slipping them the goods.
The last thing on the list was the challenge that had been issued to her. Challenge eh? Quickly Voscil sorted through the piles of keys and boxes and began hurriedly trying to open some. After a bit of work, and eventually growing impatient and frustrated she handed in three open boxes to her friends and beamed at them. She'd done well right? Hopefully.

Name: Hazmas Pochim Week Total: 2+1+1+(1+1)=6 Day Total: 1+1=2
Hazmas massaged the bump on his head where the yellow blood had thumped him. Despite his earlier antics, the young troll come to realize that he was a scrounger by nature and that directly taking things was a bit of a stretch for him. This had proven itself time and time again, with this latest altercation with an older yellow blood hitting the nail in the coffin.
'Never again,' he thought and was about to return to the booth when he spotted the blue blood with the target necklace. She and her friend seemed to have been arguing about something or other and looked like they were on the verge of fisticuffs. As Hazmas approached, the friend dived at the blue blood, snapping the chain to the necklace and knocking her to the ground. The young troll watched as the two wrestled each other, pulling hair, biting limbs, all of the good stuff!
He would've stayed entranced by the cat fight had Machim not prodded him and pointed to the tiny object. Carefully, the greenblood skirted around the fight, grabbing the necklace before dashing away and back to the booth.
'That was close!' he thought with a grin, 'But I got it!'
He brought the necklace back and furrowed his brow when he heard about the booths "challenge". Taking the box offered to him, Hazmas examined it and scratched his head. He'd done a lot of looking, finding and scavenging, but he'd never done lock picking before. Giving a little shrug, the young troll tried his hand at it.
It didn't amount to much. Unlike some of the other trolls at the booth, Hazmas only found one item in his box and it probably wasn't even worth much. He sighed and slid the open box to the owner, giving the neat black scavenger mask a forlorn look.
'Oh well,' he thought dismally, 'better luck next time.'

leon_a_darkangel You won a raffle ticket, bottle, and mask! After some figuring, scribbling at her score paper, and conferring with Zindel when he would listen, Etsali had finally come to a conclusion on who the top scavenger of the week really was. Really, she supposed she should have never had a doubt. Voscil was just too good and speedy for any troll to get away from for long. Proud of yellowblooded friend for her properly thiefy skills, Etsali turned to gather up a few things before lifting a free hand to wave Voscil over closer.
"Alright Vos! First things first, you've won one of our very rare and powerful water bottles! This stuff was twice blessed in super secret rituals just for the sake of bringing whoever drunk it luck, you know? But you've shown so much skill, I guess you don't need luck as much, huh?" Winking, she brought out the next prize, holding out the black mask as if it was a sacred object rather than a booth prize. "In fact, you've shown so much skill that you've more than earned one of these. Wear it proudly!"
As she watched eagerly to see if Vos would put it on then and there, she suddenly remembered one more thing. "Oh, you get this too! For winning!" She offered up a slightly crumpled raffle ticket, grinning.DraconicFeline You won a raffle ticket, bottle, and mask! As Keionx stood triumphantly at the booth counter, newly opened box still setting right there alongside the rest of her haul, Etsali raised an eyebrow. For someone who had threatened to kill her more than once for stealing, the knight was awfully good at it herself. The thief pulled on a grin with just the right amount of smugness and took a quick glance to the side as she decided how she wanted to answer to this determination of Kei's to prove herself to her.
She considered the lusus fretting not far off instead, knowing that keeping Kei waiting would irritate her and forever willing to do that just for the fun of it. Was the musclebeast Kei's? She'd never seen him around before and had just sorta assumed that the knight didn't have one. So this was the kind of lusus that would raise a troll to have that kind of ridiculous honor. Hmm...
"Well," she drawled out finally, turning to retrieve the prizes her rival had earned, "I guess you're not half bad at this after all." She set the faygo bottle down first, without going into the usual spiel, and then slid a raffle ticket onto the counter beside it. Then she grabbed a mask off the wall and stood. "Congratulations, Keionx." She reached out to personally hand out this highest prize, and her carefully held grin twisted into a self-satisfied smirk. "You're even more like me than I thought."thyPOPE You won a raffle ticket, bottle, and mask! As Dictys moved through the Bloodfest crowds, Etsali seemed to appear out of nowhere to walk alongside em, her arms wrapped around one of the water-filled Faygo bottles her booth had been offering as prizes. "Hey there, you were.." She tilted her head to squint down at a paper clutched in one hand. "Dictys Glauci, right? I never realized seadwellers were so good at scavenging, you really surprised me!" She laughed cheerfully and then began transferring everything she was carrying into Dictys's arms.
"So! That said, you've won yourself some super lucky water, drink responsibly, that much luck's a lot to handle! Annd, you get this nifty little raffle ticket, I think you know what to do with that. Last but most certainly not least!" She held out the mask with both hands. "Only the most impressive scavengers get a hold of these, you know. I hope you'll wear it proudly!" Giving a mock salute that tapped at the edge of her own mask, the thief slipped back into the crowd and disappeared.Ancient_Guardian You won a bottle and a mask! Before Hazmas could get far from the booth after his last attempt at lockpicking, Etsali's voice rang out to stop him. "Hey! Hey, Hazmas!" The thief was already jogging over, having scurried out of her usual seat to catch up to him in time. "You forgot to pick up your prize!" As with the others, the bottle of Faygo bottle was dropped unceremoniously into his arms. "I know you read the info, but in case you forgot, that's super rare and special lucky twice-blessed by secret rituals water." It was clear she'd practiced the description.
"Now, technically that's all you qualified for, based on points, buuut...Well, just between you and me, I heard a lot about how well you'd been doing from a friend of mine, and I got to tell you, I am impressed. That smoke bomb of yours was really something, you've got to let me know where you get those!" She paused, as if to get a hold of where she was going with what she was saying, and then nodded. "So, I think you've done enough after all to wear one of these!"
Etsali handed him a mask, beaming happily. "I saw you eying it before, so I know you'll wear it well. Really though, good job out there!"

No one could've had a broader smile than the grin on Hazmas's face. Stowing the bottle safely in his satchel, the young troll wasted no time in trying on his new mask. It was a little big, but being a youngster, he was sure he'd grow into it.
"Thanks Estali," he said, beaming up at her. "And I don't get them from anywhere other than my own hive. I make them, see? But I ran out of stuff the first day and didn't have time to go back and get more. I can make you some when I get back if you want, though. It doesn't take long, but it can get a bit messy when you don't it right."
He scratched his head bashfully, clearly pleased by her compliments. "Hehe, well, to be honest, I thought the booth owner was gonna cull my nine ways from yesterday. Her being a purpleblood and all. But I guess either she didn't see me when I bombed her booth or didn't recognize me when I played. Either way, I think was pretty lucky."

Squealing with delight hearing she'd scored well, the little speedy troll leapt up and down a few times bouncing around Etsali. She admired the older girl, and looked up to her. Her eyes shimmered with wonder and delight as she took her prizes, snickering at the bit about the water. "A little extra good luck is always awesome. I don't mind!" She replied, winking herself.
When the mask was presented to her, there was a moment of silence from Vos as she stared at it, hands tremoring momentarily with delight. Gasping, she looked between it and Etsali before grinning ear to ear nearly. "Hee! Thank youuuu. I love it!" She quickly donned the mask, tying it on and placing a hand on her hip as if showing off she arched up on her tip toes to hug the other troll, and in turn Zindel when he had a moment for her.
Little sparks of energy buzzed off her as she could barely contain herself, almost like she'd bolt at a moments notice. "I hope us four can all hang out together soon, I really missed you guys." She sighed happily, looking between the two trolls gathered, her thoughts going out to Ephias as well.
"I should get going soon, but I just wanted to let you know all that ya know?" Her cheeks flushed as she looked away rubbing her nose momentarily shy as she confessed her feelings about the lot of them.

Etsali's smile turned just a bit puzzled, her head tilting as she tried to sort out where her friend was going with all those thirds. She laughed quietly anyway, and then blinked in surprise at what he said next. He'd tried the booth's game just to try and see what it was like for her? Of course she'd known scavenging-- no, stealing, she could say it for real in her head-- wasn't Ephias's style, but he'd gone and done it anyway. And it wasn't just to prove a point or because he'd thought it was really a game either.
The thief reached up to rub idly at her cheek and glanced away in a bit of embarrassment. It was such a nice feeling, knowing someone thought enough of her to want to understand. She wanted to ask what he'd decided, if he got it now, why she needed the things as much as she did, but she wasn't sure...He probably didn't, but that was okay. He'd tried.
"I'm glad! And ah, yeah. He lives in New Hemisect." The thief sidestepped the memory of the parade and considered instead the fact that Ephias hadn't been with them down in the caves when they'd all shared this information. "Vos does too. And me, you know. Guess you're the odd one out!" She giggled a moment and then sobered a little, leaning against the counter.
"I'm doing alright though. No more, uh, big events since then." She lifted a hand to poke at her arm and shoulder demonstratively. "And look, all healed up. I really owe you one." It occurred to her to wonder, suddenly, if Ephias understood Keionx already, but she shook off that bitter thought and smiled widely again. "But hey, have you been checking out the other booths too? Vos's got this one with cards that's pretty fun, and there's supposed to be the gerbils later...!"

Zindel had initially felt glad Etsali drove Stryke off with those remarks— He was trying to hard to get close to him, and that wasn't, well, something he wanted. So when Etsali commented on those things toward Stryke, he couldn't help but feel slight admiration of her ability to play innocent. How did she do it? Drive trolls away so easily... He only wished he could.
Then she went and made him close up. Okay, whatever, he was supposed to have let go of that, but he coulda actually won something there! With another grumbly sigh, he managed to cooperate with Etsali for a bit more before listening to her conversations with the other trolls. Ephias had come at some point, that much he knew— Zindel was probably at another booth... Or... Something. Voscil had come again, and had expressed her want to hang out with all of them, together. Guh, he was beginning to get too close to these guys... Throwing a hesitant glance toward Etsali, at least he had a reason to break away from the group now, even if they were... Pretty nice to him. Compared to other trolls he'd met.
AGRGH, no no no! They just wanted to use him in some way, just like Etsali did, he was sure! He didn't know what, but it was better he stayed alone with Wrenmom. Yeah, that sounded like a better alternative. With another huffy sigh, he looked away from her chair, playing with one of the gerbils he'd kept from the gerbowling. He had absolutely no clue as to where he'd keep him or anything, but he just... Really liked Joaquin. ********, he should've left it over there... But it was so adorable! He rubbed it's nose slightly, a little adoringly— It was just an animal, too stupid to take advantage of him.
Maybe that was why he liked it so much.

Curious, Beastdad took the prizes from the table and inspected them. Water? Water was good. He tried not to stare as his troll flushed warmly, and an expression of deep, dark, anger twisted across her face.
Keionx growled, low and threatening. ”I was excellent.” she said, ”I beat you at your own game, Etsali. And now you know it.” she snatched the mask out of Etsali's hands, making a show of putting it away. ”But I am nothing like thee, thief.” she snarled, before – with a theatrical turn on her heel – she left the stall, a confused Lusus in tow.
She had no intention of losing that mask to fate as she did the watch.

“It's okay. You don't, really,” Ephias replied. “We're friends after all, right?” And friends did not owe each other anything. It was a mutual relationship of giving, not trading. He would prove that to her over and over again if he had to. Ephias nodded. “I saw Voscil's booth. I d-didn't stay long though because she seemed like she was pretty busy.” He still had the cards in his pocket. He had meant to drop by again but kept getting distracted. Once he put his thinkpan back together later he would have to try visiting. “Gerbils again... Bowling, right?” he said, a ghost of a smile flickering aross his features. He had first met Etsali during the gerbil races in Chittentown. Things had changed a lot since then. He wondered briefly if NummCorp was behind the event. “Did you sign up for it?”

Yep, that was definitely another sigh. Etsali glanced furtively over towards Zindel's chair, keeping her hands busy with tidying up to keep the action from being too noticeable. As he was happily playing with the little gerbil now, it was hard to tell if it had been a bored or annoyed sigh. Annoyed, she figured, because there was no way he wasn't still mad at her, even if they'd gone back to business as usual. It had been awkward, and she hadn't ever felt like it was the right time to try apologizing again, so she just...hadn't yet. But now he kept sighing.
With Bloodfest starting to wind down, the thief knew she had to get it over with soon, or they'd go their separate ways without ever clearing things up, but it was hard. She half-wished she could do it through a radio, like back when she'd been a kid and Luxara had been mad at her, because somehow the thought of bringing it up in person was just excruciating. Still, not doing it would be its own brand of excruciating, wouldn't it?
Etsali let out her own huff of a sigh and tilted her head more towards Zindel, giving up on being secretive about it. "Hey," she started, and then paused for a second of panic at the realization that deciding how she was going to start miiight have been a better idea than just jumping on in. She resisted the very big urge to paste on a smile, because she wasn't sure how he'd take that, and with no where else to go now that she'd spoken up, kept going.
"I, uh, never really did get a chance to really explain, did I? About the capture the flag thing, I mean....But if you don't want to talk about it right now either, it can probably wait, or-" She winced, shaking her head. "Okay, it probably shouldn't though, since we won't be here much longer, but um." Finally she steeled herself, because it was obviously way better to just get through it. "I really didn't mean to make you late, you know, if I'd thought about it I would have never made you close up alone. It was just, when I signed up, I saw...I saw someone's name, and I absolutely couldn't let them get a head start on me, you know?""Ah...well, yeah, that's right!" Sometimes Etsali wondered if she would ever entirely figure this friend stuff out, but this at least was a pleasant case of the feeling. She really didn't owe him anything, huh? Well! That didn't mean she couldn't still do something for him anyway! She'd have to try to think of something, make sure she didn't say it had anything to do with owing. Hmm, what could she get for him?
Her fingers tapped idly against the counter as she tried to think, then stilled as she began to nod enthusiastically. "Next time you get a chance you should try challenging her to a battle! It's not as hard as it seems like it might be, you know! And if you win, she brings out the shiny stuff!" Soon enough she was nodding again with a grin as Ephias picked up on the gerbils topic, she'd known that would get him!
"You bet I did! I've got my gerbils all named and everything. You should play too! Or at least come root for me. Team Stealthy's gonna take the game by storm!" She leaned forward a little, tone turning teasing. "Unless you think you need more information before you can pick who'll win?"

Sliding another finger through Joaquin's soft fur, he rubbed his nose slightly, his skin getting irritated again. Agh, what was it this time...? Ever since he started hanging out the gerbils he was sneezing and his nose was constantly irritated and stuffy. He couldn't help but wonder that the hell was causing this— he should've been fine...
Hearing Etsali's voice address him pulled him out of his thoughts. Looking to her expression and sniffling a little— not crying but feeling his nose clog up. Zindel placed Joaquin in his lap and listened to her, not wanting to but it was the only option. Glancing at her as she spoke, he noticed she wasn't even wearing the "innocent" smile he was so used to seeing. Swallowing hard, he listened to the entire plea, raising an eye in realization. That orangeblood from before— the one who came recently, ohhh. That explained it. Pursing his lips, he sneezed twice and rubbed his nose before coming up with an answer.
"That explains it." But he still didn't know if he could trust her. Before his trust was slowly growing, but he didn't know if she'd drop him for her kismesis again. Or well, whatever the other girl was. But really, what other reason would she make him late for? To win, of course— though she didn't seem so excited because she won. Rolling his eyes, he rubbed his neck and exhaled. Again he pursed his lips, eyes darting away from Etsali's unsmiling face and grabbing Joaquin, placing him on his shoulder and pulling his own legs up, wrapping his arms around them. He bit his lip a little, thinking it over.
Etsali is a really good liar.
His teeth sunk deeper into his lip.
Then again, so was he, and they were partners. Allies. Not friends, but mutual... Companions? Zindel didn't know what to call this. It was an alliance, of course... Wasn't it? When Bloodfest ended, they'd take all the stuff and pawn it... Zindel curled into himself more before letting his eyes slide over to the teen.
"I get it. It was that orangeblood, from before. With the weird accent, uh, Keionx? Right?" He pursed his lips, but his eyes stayed the same— hesitant, unsure. He still didn't know if he could trust her... "Well uh..." He looked away from her and slid his hand to his neck, lips still pressed hard. "Next time, don't let your relationships interfere with booth stuff. We gotta be careful, and stuff." Pouting a little, Zindel looks straight ahead, feeling Joaquin stumble off his shoulder and slide unceremoniously into his lap. Again, he slid a hand to pet the adorable creature, rubbing his stuffy, leaking nose and sneezing again. Ugh, why...?!
