Sycamore still couldn't quite decide what gender the youth was. To avoid any possible hurt feelings, he continued to not address them as either gender in particular. "Ah, I see." Sycamore commented, crossing his arms loosely across his chest. Then, the youth continued with an explanation. The older man doubted their tale, but he could tell that they at least seemed honest about being involved with fairy type pokemon. He studied the youth, then smiled a bit. "Ah~ Birch is a good fellow. I presume he forgot to send you along with a pokedex, then? Pas de soucis. If you aren't interested in the starter, at least take some pokeballs and potions with the pokedex, ma chérie. They'll help you with your research." he told the youth, motioning over to an assistant to bring over the little care package. Once the pokeballs, potions and pokedex were gathered, Sycamore handed them to the youth.

Paws de… what?” Dumuzi replied with a lost look on his face. Good grief, he was going to have to learn the language wasn’t he? He was sure that he was missing something rather important in what was being said by the Professor and he wasn’t sure if he should be worried about that or not. Dumuzi looked up at the Professor with a bit of look before his eyes rolled down and to the right, a nervous smile graced his features as he once more brought his finger up to scratch the side of his cheek. ”Y-yeah, he is a rather scattered man. I’m sure that he was so wrapped up in other things that it just totally skipped his mind, or perhaps he forgot that he didn’t give me on earlier. I’m sure you know what kind of a guy he can be like.” The best part about having such an infamous professor running about your neighbourhood was that you could pick up some of his quirks to understand his character a lot more. To say that Professor Birch was a bit scatterbrained could be viewed as a bit of an understatement, though perhaps the term ‘eccentric’ was a better way in which to fit his persona. At least Professor Sycamore seemed to buy his story about being a researcher in training and he wasn’t forcing a new pokemon on him, which he was grateful for.
He took up the rather fancy pokedex that was given to him and gave it a good, though quick once over. It looked simple enough to use so he wasn’t going to ask about how it worked. He was sure that an ‘aspiring professor’ such as himself would be able to figure it out with little worry or too much tinkering. ”Thank you.” Dumuzi replied as he slipped the pokedex into his back pocket. Dumuzi was then surprised with a gathering of pokeballs and potions to start him on his way. He swiftly took off his pack and let the items fall inside. ”Are you sure that I can have these? There sure do seem to be a lot of them. Won’t that… set you back some?” Dumuzi would have offered him some money, but he didn’t know when the next time he would get some access to it would be, so he was planning to ration it the best that he could until need be.
Dumuzi placed the pack back over his shoulder, he kinda felt bad for duping the Professor like this, he seemed like a rather nice guy and he kind of reminded him of Erika in a few ways. He would make a note to return the rest of the pokeballs back to the professor once his team had been collected. Maybe then this whole fugitive thing would blow over and he could come clean with the Professor or something. But for the moment, he would play along and keep up his masquerade until the end.

"Ah, sorry~ Sometimes i forget not all would be familiar with my tongue. It means No Worries." Sycamore smiled apologetically when the youth expressed confusion at his french. He merely nodded as the youth continued to mention Birch. Sycamore was well aware that the man was... well, eccentric would be a nice way to put it. Some of his methods were... strange. But they worked for him, and that's what matters most. "Ah, don't worry, darling. We don't ever run out of pokeballs and potions here; we are well supplied. It's better to make sure that you are prepared for your studies, yes? Flabebe might be the first fairy type you'll run into on your way to Santalune City. Perhaps you should see if where you find them changes the color of flower they hold." Sycamore smiled, trying to reassure the youth, though he had a feeling they had something to hide. At the very least, they did seem concerned about others, and that was lovely enough to just give them the benefit of the doubt.

”Ah! Well… Paws de Sauce, then.” Dumuzi mused having just butchered poor Professor Sycamore’s native language. Yeah, it was going to be pretty safe to say that he was going to have to pick up a language book to try and figure out what everyone around here was saying… that and the decreased chance of him offending people and being chased out of Kalos after a few days of arriving here. Dumuzi’s stoic expression cracked a bit with an amused twitch of the right corner of his lips. Darling? The title brought with it a strange sense of nervous excitement for some reason but he supposed that the Professor finally decided on a gender for the youth that was in front of him. Or was it a unisex term here? He didn’t know really but he always associated it with the more female gender. Darling endearments aside, Dumuzi was at least a little relieved that he wasn’t going to run the poor professor out of pokeballs and potions on his first visit here and it looked as though he was going to be able to take care of his pokemon for some time. He did find it a bit of a relief that if he needed to lay low for a while he was going to be able to keep his team healthy and happy. And yet, despite all that the Professor had already done for him, he passed on more advice and wisdoms to the fleeing fugitive about where he could get some fairy pokemon. Finally, Dumuzi’s expression softened and a ghost of a smile crossed his lips. ”Thank you for the advice, I will head in that direction right now. “ The youth started towards the exit when he paused and looked behind him, this professor might be the last bit of friendliness that he might get for a while. ”Thanks for everything, Professor. I’ll do what I can to repay the favours.” Coming back and being at least fluent enough to not butcher the professors own language would probably be a great place to start on that one. Dumuzi took his leave silent and started to head back into the sleepy Vaniville town so that he could make his way towards Santalune city where he planned to get a start on his team, the city would probably be a great place to get a few other necessities as well. As soon as he seemed comfortable with the distance between him and the Professors place, he picked up speed to get away as quickly as possible. He had spent far too long there in the Professor’s company and he needed to get going as swiftly as possible.

Peeking into the lab from outside the doors, Theo observed the place carefully. He didn't know how, but his knight had a way to do everything quickly. Had he arrived before him and waiting to take Theo back home, or had he gotten here safely? The doors opened and Jesamine came back out, shaking her head. Theo had sent her in to check for the man, but it seemed he wasn't here. Great! Returning Jesamine to her ball and tucking it way in his bag, the blonde-haired Tyvian entered the lab. Hopefully he'd be able to get the first gym done, possibly even the second, before Aston caught up with him. If he could just show he was fine on his own, maybe Aston would let him continue traveling."Chespin, Fennekin, Froakie....I think those are the three this lab offers. Hm...."He walked passed a group of starters and beamed."Ah! So, this is what they look like!"So cool! Now how was he supposed to choose? He hadn't decided before arriving, and now that he had seen them, he couldn't possibly choose just one!

Much to his disappointment, the darling woman in the maid get up had left while he was busy taking care of the young ... boy? It might have been a boy. Well, anyways, After seeing the youth off, Sycamore had returned to his studies for the meantime, accompanied by three of the starters that the lab offered. The three noticed the new comer, all giving him hopeful looks, wondering which of them might be chosen. The Fennekin yipped before approaching the blonde boy, catching Sycamore's attention. The fox sniffed at the boy's feet, tail swaying a bit.
When Sycamore first saw the boy that entered, he had to look closer. He looked... familiar. Oh! "Theo? Could it really be you? My, You've grown up quite a lot since the last time I've seen you!" he exclaimed, pulling the kid into a friendly hug before backing off to smile at him. "So, what brings you here today? Are you finally going to start your journey as a trainer?" he questioned. There was something about the Tyvia that he could have sworn he heard about recently, but he just couldn't put his thumb on it for the moment. He was rather glad to see the boy here. Sycamore had always wondered how the prince would get along as a trainer. The times he had visited before, the starters had always all shared some interest in him.
Theo had been so focused on the starters that he hadn't noticed Sycamore. So, when he was hugged, he was startled for a moment before smiling up at him."Hello, Professor. Yes....I want to try my hand at being a trainer~."Looking down at the three, Theo couldn't help by be pulled towards Fennekin. She had approached him on her own, thoughthe others were hopeful, too. Wasn't there a way to get all three? Theo would have to look into it."I was hoping I could get my starter here. And....I'm thinking Fennekin. She seems excited~."

"Magnifique~ Ah, I'm sure you'll shape up to be an excellent trainer!" Sycamore commented. He looked down to the Fennekin that certainly seemed especially excited to meet Theo. Perhaps it was destiny that brought her to him. The other two didn't look too disappointed, knowing that they'd get their turn some day, and the Froakie even croaked out a congrats to the fire type. "Splendid choice, Theo~ She really seems to have taken an immediate liking to you. I look forward to hearing about your ventures with her. Un moment-" Sycamore exclaimed, then motioned for the boy to stay put as he went about to gather supplies for the prince. He got the ball for the fennekin, and the little bundle of pokeballs, potions and a pokedex before returning to the young blond. "Here you are, Theo. This is Fennekin's ball, and this is a little care package to help you on your journey. It's got some pokeballs, potions, and your very own pokedex." he smiled, handing the boy the items. The fire fox was nearly jumping for joy, and was very much excited to get going on a journey with her new trainer.

But, he understood it all now, so he simply stayed where he was swaying excitedly from side to side. He felt awful that he couldn't take the other two, but they seemed okay with it. It sounded like Froakie even congratulated Fennekin, which was sweet. Sycamore soon returned with Theo's starter package of Pokéballs, potions, and his PokéDex, as well as Fennekin's Pokéball."Thank you, Professor! I'll take great care of her."After storing the items in his bag and clipping Fennekin's ball next to Jesamine's, Theo knelt and pet Fennekin's head before picking her up and holding her; which she seemed to enjoy greatly."I'll keep in touch. Bye, Professor~! And, uh....I was never here."Theo bolted from the lab in both joy and panic, hoping he would have time before Aston came after him.

It had been quite a while. Several people had entered and exited the lab, most taking their starters and a rare few refusing them. The man hidden outside watched and waited during that time, confident that he did not need to worry about when he should strike. And so he was content, at least until he received a call on his Pokegear. That call changed his situation. It seemed his contact was under pressure and needed to get the required items within the next two weeks. Preferably within the week. Gritting his teeth behind the bandanna he wore to hide the lower half of his face, the man pulled out his old Pokedex and looked over the data. He shook his head and growled."Not good enough... But it will have to do,"he muttered, then held the device a bit closer."Bring them back, Glitch, and have Talon's ball on standby."The man knew it would take some time for the Pokemon to be returned to him from the daycare center, so he took that time to cautiously approach the window of the lab.
Looking inside, the man could see that it really was going to be now or never. There hadn't been any trainers for the past several hours, and with darkness having approached that meant there were few aides around as well. That just left the professor himself as a potential threat, and that was something the man could handle. Probably. The man certainly didn't seem threatening, judging from the appearance of the person working on some paperwork further into the building. Felix knew better than to linger, though, and quickly ducked out of sight and back to his original hiding area before the other man could spot him with an inconveniently-timed glance. Being found out prematurely would wreck everything, so he had to be cautious as he waited for the two Pokemon he needed to be returned to him.
Eventually the two balls materialized and the mysterious man took hold of both of them. One of the two he simply kept at the ready for later but the other he pointed at the ground in front of him so as to let out the Pokemon within. What materialized was his Houndoom, who looked a bit disappointed but ready for work."I know, Daemon, but there seems to have been a change in schedule somewhere up the line,"he said, then pulled out a purple plate with a harness on it and slid it on the Houndoom. He then looked at his dex so he could speak to the Porygon hiding within."Need you to fix some things about Ooze. Replace Mud Slap with number sixty-four and give him the King's Rock."He waited a while and watched as a few animations on the screen showed that the Porygon was doing as he requested. Eventually, he chuckled as a cheery little animation of a Porygon hopping around while waving its arms popped up and signaled that the item transfer and the move replacing were done.
Preparations as complete as they would be under the circumstances presented to the trainer, the man adjusted his sunglasses slightly before approaching the window once more. This time, he had his Houndoom with him, and he pulled out a large envelope from his bag."You know what to do,"the man said, causing the hellhound Pokemon to huff quietly before blowing out a light stream of flame, working carefully at melting the glass of the window without simply punching through and setting something within the building on fire. The canine worked until there was a hole in the glass large enough for his trainer to fit through if the man wasn't too concerned about risking some nasty burns or cuts. It was at that point the Houndoom stopped spouting fire and stepped back. The trainer quickly showed that he did not care about getting burnt or cut as he quickly climbed into the room through the new opening, bag and envelope held close to keep them from getting damaged while the ball containing his Muk was gripped tightly.
As soon as the man's feet touched the floor, he tossed the ball and sent out the large, goopy poison type. Unlike how a normal trainer would, though, he made sure the Muk was let out while in mid-air so that it would fall onto an unsuspecting target. Preferably, that would be the professor, although it wasn't like the trainer was unprepared for a miss. His Houndoom quickly offered support to the poison Pokemon by jumping in through the window and breathing out a Smog attack, acting as an improvised smokescreen."Keep him busy!"the man called out as his vision of the room was cut off, a thinly-veiled command to the Muk for it to pursue and immobilize the professor to the best of its ability should the initial strike have failed. He only hesitated slightly as he made his way over towards the desk the professor had been at, though, having had a good enough view of the room that he was pretty sure of what direction he needed to head in order to reach his real target.

After having taken care of some trainers, Sycamore had returned to his desk. There was an awful lot of paperwork on fairy types on his desk, though there were a few mega stone findings scattered in the mess. It was quite an embarrassing state of affairs, his desk. He tried to make a neat, unsorted pile to start, picking up a stone from his desk. It seemed to be a raw mega stone, and didn't have any effect on any pokemon known to mega evolve. It was quite a curious thing. Now, where was that paper that came with it... Maybe he should call it a night soon. It was getting pretty late. The professor shuffled through the papers on his desk, unaware of the plot going on outside his lab.
Suddenly, there was an odd smell about the lab, the sound of feet on the floor, quickly followed by a burst of smog. "Quoi dans le monde?" Sycamore quickly pulled the collar over his face. Was someone really trying to break in and steal from the lab? Well, they may have been prepared for breaking in, but it's going to be more difficult to get away, especially unscathed. He quickly grabbed two balls from his belt, releasing a mega blastoise and a mega charizard x. "Clear this smog, ma cherie." he said to the charizard, it gave a roar and a mighty flap of it's wings, clearing the smoke. And scattering quite a few papers. He spotted a man with his face covered, a muk and a houndoom.

The mysterious man had covered a fair distance during his little sneak attack, but it seemed that the plan had already gone wrong. Two more balls popped open and Felix knew they couldn't be either of his. By the time he was a handful of feet away from the desk, Professor Sycamore was already telling one of his Pokemon to blow away what cover the thief had. Felix stopped and braced himself as a powerful wingbeat almost blew him off his feet, although he still ended up staggering somewhat. The gust created also sent some of the papers flying, a few of them being the exact sheets the thief needed to grab. The man looked at the two mega Pokemon and gritted his teeth before turning to the papers flying around. That made things harder, as he'd have needed time later to sift through them and make sure he turned over what he needed to. With them scattered, there was little option but to collect as many as he can.
The Houndoom and Muk needed no orders and quickly began their own assault. For the moment the two Pokemon ignored the powerful megas as best as they could and instead targeted the professor himself with their attempted attacks. Ooze had the daunting task of maneuvering around the large mega evolutions while trying to grab a hold of Sycamore while Daemon had a bit of an easier time by firing off an Inferno. Although, the Houndoom doubted that either the Charizard or the Blastoise would actually allow the attacks to hit the man. But it gave time for the third team member, Glitch, to also lend his assistance. He had already done some shifting around for his trainer's team so that the ball could be called whenever, which meant he aught to help with the gathering. So, the Porygon transported itself out of the Pokedex and quickly floated over to the table before scooping up the remaining papers and the stone to the best of his ability.
"Gogogot it!"The normal type called out in pokespeak, his voice freezing up temporarily, before hurriedly floating away from the chaos and to the window. Felix had finished gathering up some of the fallen papers and took that as his cue to quickly follow behind. He hesitated, though, as he passed by a small table where a few balls containing starter Pokemon were kept. Even though he knew better, his impulsiveness got the better of him and he hurriedly swept all three balls into his bag before continuing towards the window. How badly those seconds cost him remained to be seen, though, as neither Daemon nor Ooze were likely to last for long against the Professor's Pokemon.

There's the research and the Pokemon, and feel free to pretty much one-shot poor Daemon and Ooze. XD Felix will flee for his life next post. And... Hopefully my brain will cooperate enough for me to figure a way out of this mess next post, because I couldn't really justify doing more before the Pokemon start tearing apart his team.
Sycamore grit his teeth. What did he even say in a situation like this. This guy just busted into his lap using his pokemon. It was crazy. Was this guy even aware that he was certainly not some push over scientist? The professor moved to stop the porygon from taking his research and the raw megastone, but the other two pokemon approaching him caught his attention. "Blastoise, get that Houndoom out of her with an Aura Sphere! Charizard, give that muck a taste of your Iron Tail!" Sycamore commanded his companions. The mega blastoise lowered it's head, aiming it's cannons for the houndoom before it sent a powerful blast of energy at the dark dog. Mega Charizard x gave a roar, swinging his tail hard against the poisonous blob, sending it flying back out from whence it came. The Houndoom was reunited with the Muk just outside of the hole they had apparently made to break in through. Ugh, there was no need to worry more about he state of the lab - it was already going to need repairs. Sycamore pulled out his Holocaster, dialing the police to tell them about the thief.

Daemon's eyes went wide as the Blastoise's cannons were leveled at him and the hellhound only had time to let out a quiet whimper before being blasted with an Aura Sphere. The impact was enough to not only knock him out on contact but also blast him across the room and through the wall. Ooze, in contrast, never saw the hit coming and ended up splattering against and through the wall as he was swatted away by the Charizard. Glitch was unharmed as he flew through the window, although he panicked when he realized his trainer was no longer in view. The man had seemingly disappeared.
Well, not exactly. As Felix had made his way towards the window, he ended up passing in front of Ooze's path as the Muk was swatted away. Neither the trainer nor the poison sludge Pokemon saw it coming and Felix ended up getting caught up in his own Muk and slammed against the wall. A few groans came out from underneath the pile of sludge which caused Glitch to hover over worriedly."...Master...?"the Porygon inquired worriedly as he approached, then became rather animated when he saw the lump that was Ooze's body move due to a certain someone trying to get out from underneath him."Getupgetupgetupgetupgetupgetupgetu-"
The normal type's hectic cries were suddenly cut off as a hand reached out from under the sludge and grabbed its pixelated beak."Hush, Porygon,"the man said as he pulled himself out from under the Muk. His clothing was filthy due to the sludge and the man was in quite a bit of pain from the impact, but he was able to stand and able to look around. What he was not able to do was run, but a loud squawk with a metallic tone to it told him he probably didn't need to. So, the man took a couple of steps back as he recalled his fallen Pokemon, then clipped the balls onto his belt before taking the papers and stone from the Porygon. Glitch took that as his cue and transported himself back inside his master's Pokedex.
The man took another few steps back while tucking the research and stone in his bag, then gave the professor a snarky smirk from beneath the bandanna covering the lower half of his face."Adieu, connard,"the man said with a more cocky tone than he aught to, then moved just as a Skarmory with blackened metal swooped down so that he could grab hold and hang on for dear life as the metal bird rose back into the sky. It was rather difficult with all the pain he was feeling from being slammed through a wall, but with much struggling on his part and a few helpful maneuvers from the bird, Felix was able to adequately mount the bird as it flew off for a much better escape than limping through the woods would have made for.

Yeah, and Felix's bad luck is probably going to continue on if what I have planned for when he (eventually) encounters his Klefki is any indication. And yeah, all they could do was delay the inevitable. XD Fly, you fool! D8 No worries, though, since you gave me a great excuse for an exit route. XD

Professor Sycamore
The professor cursed under his breath in French as he noticed the thief had escaped. Though he had the police on the phone, describing the man that had just robbed him, Sycamore stepped outside his lab with his mega pokemon to inspect the damage. Damn, and it was getting late. How was he supposed to explain this to his assistants and new trainers? The professor let out his other Mega Charizard, and looked to the two. "Follow that thief, and at least slow him down so the police have a chance at catching him. S'il vous plaît." he told the fire starters, after having ended his call to the police. They both growled, then took off after the thief and his skarmory.
Sycamore was still rather shocked by the whole ordeal. He wasn't quite sure what was so valuable about the research that might have been stolen, though it did concern him that the mysterious raw megastone had been stolen, too. It also seemed that an entire set of starters were gone, as well. With a heavy sigh, the professor brought a hand to his face. He felt terrible for those starters. If the break in was any indication, that guy was quite likely not a good person. Hopefully, they won't be mistreated, though he couldn't help but feel doubts that they were in good hands. "Alright, ma cherie. Let's get this patched up for now." he told his mega blastoise.
It wasn't long before his charizards returned. He supposed they must have done all they could within the law. Sycamore returned them after thanking them for their hard work, including the blastoise. Looks like this was going to be another late night as the police arrived to investigate, and the professor had to tell the whole story all over.
