Merlia looked down. "It was not a problem. It's my duty as a mermaid and as a Guardian." She blushed ever so slightly and smiled. "I....I'm Merlia." She pushed some hair behind her ear and all the while not knowing that someone had swam up behind her. "Ah Merlia dear it has been a long time." Instantly Merlia cringed and her smile was gone. The women had dark blue hair and looked a lot like Merlia but much older. "Mother." She turned to face her mother her trident ready just in case she was jumped again. "What do you want?" Her mother and had hatred written in her eyes for her daughter. "Can a mother not congratulate her daughter on becoming pregnant and with twins at that." Merlia was hearing screams in her head from the day that Teri had been taken. "No not after what you and the Iron Roses did to me. It's even a miracle that I am pregnant. The doctors said the chances of me becoming pregnant after my injures the day you took Teri were really slim to nothing. I never gave up hope that I would so I could be a better mother than you would ever be." Her voice had risen pretty high now she was mad and she wanted her mother to know that too. Her mother raised her hand and slapped her across the face. "You dare speak to me like that you ungrateful child. If I......" Before she even finished she noticed Teri and the collar he did not even have to tell her that she was needed at the camp. She transformed in to her human form. "Slave I expect that you return to the main camp in about two hours. If you don't I will see to it personally that you are severely punished." She walked back over to Merlia and grabbed her hair. "I do not want to see you around got it if I do I will make sure your guardian friends find her dead body on the shoreline next time the are on patrol." Lucky for Merlia it was all talk and no action. With that Shellen left leaving Merlia and Teri alone once more.

(Wow, that's a bit to keep in comparison for post lengths.) Teri bowed and smiled back at the mermaid that rescued him. "Nice to know your name now, Merlia. It's a nice one too." So that's what she was. A guardian, the name alone sounds way more positive and pleasant than the Iron Roses if they were the ones that had captured him. The living conditions would probably be way better. Speaking of, it appeared the one he was looking for showed her self. No wonder she knew who this was. The woman practically looked like her! The human had soon learned that they were mother and daughter! One had to wonder where Merlia got her sweetness from. What was going on that Merlia had to magically arm herself as Shellen approached? They had a bit of an exchange which Teri smartly kept out of. He had enough problems as a slave. That slapped she gave her daughter looked like it hurt. Least he was given a free two hours. When she was gone, he returned his attention to Merlia. "You alright, Merlia? She didn't hurt you too bad this time, did she?" He says in a concerned tone for the pregnant mermaid. His hands reached for her face to look at her injuries. "I should had done something, I was too weak. I thought she would kill me. Congratulations on being pregnant. I had not noticed, but I'm sure I will in time."

"No, I'm fine." Merlia sighed. "I'm use to it. Her bark is worse than her bite. I live in the water there is nothing she can do about it. To tell you the truth she says the same thing all the time and yet she has yet to do anything. I really don't worry about it." She smiled reassuringly she did not want to worry Teri. She looked down though she was not use to this kind of thing she bit her bottom lip. She did not know what else to say. (sorry I got kind of busy for a while but I am back.)

He states back to Merlia. Teri felt for her the pregnant mermaid. She had such the pretty smile and would hate to see it go away forever. Even if Shellen said that all the time, that was no way to treat your daughter. Nevertheless he sighed and lets go of her cheek. Merlia was right, the bruising only looked bad. "She gave me two hours. That was, generous of her to do. I didn't think they would ever let me out of that place. I don't suppose you know how to get this collar off, do you? I would like to spend time with you and show my thanks. That is, if you would let me." He began to turn red at the thought. Teri felt forever in the debt of the mermaid.

"Let me see what I can do." Merlia pulled something out of her hair and started to fiddle with the collar. "Hold still I don't know how well this will work. After maybe five minutes she heard a snap and the collar came right off. "There." She smiled it was too easy, way too easy. When Teri mentioned being able to spend time with her to show his thanks she blushed as well. "I would really like that. I don't do well around others but you seem different then the others."

Teri was reluctant for her to try but nodded his head and tried to stay still. The young man was nervous, both by what she was doing and how close he was to her. Merlia was beautiful. He tried not to show it, but whenever she touched the collar he was struck with a pain in his chest. If it wasn't for the fact he trusted her with his life again, he would had stopped her right there. His hands instantly went to his neck. He felt so relieve to have it off. "As am I. I, don't often speak to others myself." He replies softly as his eyes look up and down her body. Mostly her barely rounding middle. "How, far along are you with your twins? This place is in some sort of baby boom? The guards were pregnant too."

"I am about a month along. Yeah and more become pregnant everyday. The thing is that we don't have men to impregnate us. It's magic." Merlia looked away and put her hand on her stomach. "At first I was afraid when to even go through with it. I don't even remember how it happened. A week after everything happened I started to feel sick. When I was taken in for my first check up that was when I found out that I was pregnant. The shocker was that I was pregnant with twins most of my kind only have one." She looked down at her tail as it hit the water's surface and made a splash. "At first when I found out I was afraid, afraid that I would be just like my mother but I now know that I am not, and when they are born, for the first time I will not feel alone." She took Teri's collar and threw it into the water.
