{Salvos : Traverse Town : 1st District}

Salvos watched as the large bird freaked out, clearly not happy about having fire shot in it's general direction. Before the blacksmith could say anything to the bird to try and console it it dashed off again. With a sigh, the dwarf dunked the blade he was working on into the nearby tank of water to cool it and shut off the forge. He then walked outside and followed after the chocobo, not a difficult task considering it’s massive size, until it decided to stop for a bite... of a traveler's head? The dwarf picked up his pace as much as he could and made his way over to the group of newcomers.

As the dwarf approached the group, he looked somewhat impressed by the massive size of the bird, he had only gotten a view of it’s head within his shop, in the plaza he got a much better look at the winged-beast. He had seen many a creature in his days, even hunted ones larger than this bird with this brothers. He never thought he would see such a large animal in this town though. The dwarf looked around at the group of people gathered. All of the humanoids were, as expected, taller than the blacksmith. With a sigh, the smithy slowly approached the chocobo as to hopefully not startle it anymore, which was when the person’s who’s head it was biting decided to punch at it. Not that the dwarf could blame the man, the bird was trying to eat his hair afterall. It was at that point that the bird started throwing a tantrum. It stomped about and was likely giving everyone a headache with it’s loud gawks and kwehs, which no one seemed able to understand.

”’Ey there big guy it’s alright. I apologize, I didn’t mean to startle ya. Calm down now and maybe we can actually help ya,” Salvos stated trying to get the Chocobo to relax. While the dwarf didn’t know what the problem was, it was fairly obvious that the bird was distressed. The bird wasn’t being a nuisance intentionally. At least the Blacksmith was fairly certain that wasn't the case.

[Doresk: Traverse Town: 1st District]

Doresk was quite pleased when the bird released him...though he couldn't help but wince as the bird squawked right in his face. And then have a tantrum? What kind of animal was this bird? It definitely wasn't something he'd seen before on his travels...but he wasn't going to be the one to deal with it. It wasn't attacking him, but he didn't want to get 'eaten' again.

Of course, and then a dwarf came along and seemed to attempt calming the creature. But now Doresk was a little...wary. Quite a few dwarfs he had come across weren't exactly the most friendly. Especially towards him, considering he was half orc, after all. But...at least if the dwarf had noticed him, he had decided not to acknowledge him.

Kauze was too distracted to notice the new sound coming from behind him; a moment later something slammed into him; unable to stop himself from falling forward his muzzle connected painfully with the street,
The Fennec lay there for a moment before raising himself with a groan and looking over his shoulder at the strange white creature behind him; it reminded him of a Corsac Fox though it’s color was certainly not the same, Kauze continued staring for a moment before speaking “W-what? What...are you? And what is this place anyway?”

(.:.Snowstorm.:.Alleyway.:.Traverse Town.:.)

Snow placed a paw to her head and rubbed it. She stared at the creature for a second. It sort of reminded her of a vulpix but the ears were too big and it only had one small tail.
She sighed after he spoke. "To be honest, I don't know what I am anymore. I am a human, but I can be a ninetails too. Our species looks similar, except for the fact that I have nine tails."
Snow looked around the area. "I have no clue where we are. I just escaped to this world through a portal that the awful Team Rocket had created. I just kept running until I bumped into you."

[Chibi : Traverse Town : First District]

While not particularly special or anything, the tone Salvos used to speak to Chibi was not lost on the chocobo. Bred and raised in a domestic environment, Chibi was well attuned to the ways people spoke and what to expect when different intonations were used. While Salvos's voice was much rougher than the voice of his usual caretakers, Chibi could still pick out the calm vibe the short man meant to give out. Latching onto the familiar kindness from an unfamiliar source, Chibi calmed.

He halted his stomping and turned to face the dwarf rather dejectedly, taking a few steps back as he turned so that he had some space between himself and the friendly neighborhood blacksmith. "Kweeeeeeeh," the giant bird complained in a tone softer and quieter than before, his head lowered as far as it could go and eyes wide like a puppy's. Because of how short Salvos was, Chibi was forced to sit down, folding his legs underneath him, to achieve the desired effect of looking up at Salvos with the largest, roundest eyes Chibi could muster. The chocobo's sizable neck bridged the distance he had created between himself and the blacksmith, so that his head rested almost at Salvos's feet. It appeared that Chibi had completely forgotten about the small scare Salvos had given him not too long ago. To be fair, he mostly had forgotten about it. After all, the scare Salvos gave the chocobo was only a small part of the bigger problem of unfamiliar surroundings.

No longer on a tantrum, remorse started to fill Chibi. He came to realize that he probably shouldn't have left Elmina in the dust back in who knows what part of Traverse Town. With or without Ciel, Elmina was still someone he knew would take care of him and give him food. The genuine regret Chibi now felt filled his choco-puppy eyes, which were even now created for an artificial and deliberate attempt on his part to get something he wanted.

Kauze continued to stare at the creature for a moment before raising himself to a standing position, turning to face the...white thing he put one hand to his head as he tried to make sense of what it had just said "Human? Ninetails? what are those?" so many questions were whirling through the Fennec's mind he could barely decide what to ask first

[ Thalassa : Aseavan : Wizard's Isle ]

Treasure. It was all around her tiny little wooden shack. Most of it wasn't exactly what people usually thought of when the word cropped up in conversation - ancient and fragile leftovers from aeons long gone by, strangely shaped stones, and the random piece of semi-useful junk thrown out by someone who didn't know what they were missing, were some of her favorite things to collect. But there were also plenty of the shiner variety. Regardless of what kind, all it did was make her want to get back out there and have another adventure, instead of keeping her feet in one place - well, her feet couldn't sit still if someone nailed them down, as she tapped them on the coconut wood strips that made up her floor to the tune of whatever song played in her head, but ah, technicalities.

The foot-tapping came to a momentary halt as a pungent scent reached her nose, and she jumped up from her armchair and hastily stepped into the kitchen, which is to say she turned around and took a few steps toward the Northern wall, where there rested a large pot on a grate above a fire pit. The foot-tapping resumed while she dunked a wooden spoon into the bulky creation within and pulled it out to carefully test the waters, so to speak.

"Mmm!" she exclaimed before she put down the spoon and, shielding her hands with two thick pads, pulled the pot off of the grate and placed it on a cement block next to the pit. "Better than the last one, she chuckled as she now picked up the fire pit and hauled it outside. Just as she set it down on the sand, two heads bobbed up to the surface of the water and smiled at her, one surrounded by dark green hair, and the other with light blue.

"Having a party tonight, Lass?" the green-haired newcomer asked with a glance at the fire pit, still keeping herself mostly submerged.

"I might," the treasure hunter grinned. "I don't know if the Big Guy will like it too much, though."

"Oh, you're having a lesson today?" the blue-haired girl asked nervously, darting her eyes around the Southern area of the island.

"No, not right now, Sapphire," Thalassa laughed, bending over and slapping her knee. "But you know how it is. If I do, by chance, decide to throw a party for the first time in - what - a month...?" The two girls nodded in confirmation, smiling. "Yeah, I just KNOW he'll decide to pop up in the middle of it. Or before it. He's always like that." "Big Guy" was Thalassa's name for her current teacher, who, as far as she knew, had no name. Of course, she hardly called him that to his face, as she was usually respectable enough to call him "Master".

"Don't worry about it until it happens, I say," the green-haired maiden said with a shrug.

"I know, it's better that way," the brown-haired young woman said in a tone that indicated otherwise as she began to pace back and forth on the sandy shore, kicking up a slight amount of sand with every nervous step. "But our training lately has been seeming different, like he's trying to drop hints at me. Hints that maybe we're almost done with this. And that's good, right? Of course it is! But I've been training all my life! Once I'm done with this, what am I going to train at? I don't know what to do with my life except hunt treasure, and believe me, I love doing that, but I feel like there's supposed to be something else, and if this key I have isn't it, then WHAT IS IT? Let alone the fact that this is the third person I've gotten attached to like a parent-figure-thing - and believe me, I don't know HOW that happened, this guy has zero personality and he probably thinks I'm the worst student he's EVER had, and..."

She continued to ramble on, pacing all the while, until the kicking about of her burgundy-colored sandals had traced a very long and very thin track into the sand. Her two friends watched her for a moment, listening intently to every word, until Sapphire jabbed at her companion's ribs with her elbow, and the green-haired girl nodded and smiled.

"Thalassa! Thalassa? Thalassa, stop pacing!" Eventually, the girl took in a deep breath and shouted "LASS!" This grabbed up the attention of the treasure hunter, who stopped her pacing and sent an annoyed look their way, before the green-haired girl reached into a bag hidden underwater and handed her a half-sphere shaped object, to which Thalassa's face lit up immediately. She took the item right before jumping into the water and squeezing the girl in a tight hug.

"My kalimba!" she shouted jubilantly. "You got it back! Oh, thank you so, so much, Emerald!"

"For you, my dear?" the mermaid laughed, wriggling her green tail fin to get out of the human woman's grasp. "Anything! Just let me breathe, will you?"

"How did you convince him to sell it to you?" Thalassa asked as she let go of Emerald and assaulted Sapphire with her own hug.

"Oh, I have my ways," the green-haired mermaid said proudly, sticking out her chin.

"I'm sure," the human girl laughed, swimming back to the paced-upon shore. "Anyway, thank you again, really. I've missed this thing. And I'll play you girls some songs on it once I dish out dinner. Don't you go anywhere, alright?"

"Wouldn't miss it," Sapphire said with a grin. Thalassa met it with her own soft smile before turning around and marching merrily back into the hut to fetch the stew.

[.:.Snow.:.First District Alley.:.Traverse Town.:.]

Snow realized that this creature must be from this world and have no idea what a Pokemon is. She thought for a moment. "Well I have nine tails so I am called a ninetails, though not the most creative name, it is what the humans choose to call me and my race. Now please don't freak out..." she warned.
Snow focused. A bright glow appeared around her and consumed her form. The white shape of her form grew taller and skinnier. When the white glow faded, she was in her human form. "Now I am a human, though not a normal one. The humans look like I do now, only without the furry ears and tails. She changed back to her ninetail form.

{Cupcake .:. Traverse Town .:. Second District - Hotel}

Princess Amanita looked around at the tiny, red room she had rented for the nonce, and sighed. She couldn't wait to get in that bed, small though it was compared to what she was used to back home. As much as she loved her Gummi ship, she longed for something comfortable. Though, she wasn't sure if such a small and most likely lumpy bed would be comfortable, but it had to be better than the decidedly cramped quarters of her ship.

"Well," she said to herself, her musical voice ringing back to her from the walls, "I suppose it will just have to do. Not quite fit for a princess, I'm afraid, but what do you expect from a backwater town? I do so hope they have proper bathing facilities..."

Fortunately, Princess Amanita had no need to unpack. She traveled lightly, and her pristine white clothing was enchanted to be self-cleaning. Quite handy to one who was used to servants waiting on her hand and foot. She spent several moments investigating her room, and frowned in curiosity when she realized she could hear the voices of the other occupants. Were the walls that thin? How intriguing! She might not even need to explore much of the town to learn what she'd come here to learn.

{Wing .:. Between Worlds to Somewhere .:. Personal Gummi}

Having left the ship on autopilot, Wing was sitting on her bed and checking her gun. It hadn't been used recently, so she had no real reason to clean it, but she liked having the weapon in her hands. It was the first bit of what she would call "magitek" that her world had ever seen—or at least, the first that functioned. And her father had given it to her, rather than the military. Then again, Zan had been a bioengineer and wasn't technically supposed to be creating weapons. He had insisted the gun was more of a hobby craft than anything, but Wing knew her father better than that. She wondered how long he would keep this secret under wraps, and if he would work to sabotage other researchers trying to merge magic with technology. The last thing their world needed was technological advances that merged weapons with spells… Enough people died in the war as it was.

An alert sounded throughout the ship, and Wing holstered her gun as she went to investigate. The readings on the Gummi ship's navigational panels said they were approaching an inhabitable world, and it looked like this one was fairly well populated. A small smile crossed Wing's lips; just think of all the history this world had! She could hardly wait.

{Azuria [Pet: Ted].:. Agrabah .:. Bazaar}

Mal was doing the sensible bargaining thing again. Not that Azuria had a problem with sensibility or bargaining, but it was so boring. Now if the bargaining was for something interesting, like a toy for one of her pets or some fancy armor, she'd be a lot more engaged. But provisions? Laaaaaame. Zuri ignored her brother and stared around the bazaar, craning her neck to see what she could from the vegetable stall. It looked like there were merchants selling fabric across the way, and near them was something shiny, maybe gold. Maybe jewelry?

Yes, yes it was! An eddy in the crowd had cleared a spot in front of a near jewelry stall, and Azuria could see the bright yellow metal gleaming in the harsh desert sunlight. A snatch of one of the hawkers crying his wares made it through clearly, confirming that he was selling jewelry. Azuria almost ignored the words until they sank in.

"—the finest of turquoise, madam, perfect with your eyes—"

Azuria felt her breath catch in her throat, and she started winding her way through the crowd towards the jewelry-seller's booth. Ted shifted a little where he was draping across her shoulders, staring around at the pressing crowds, making sure nothing was about to attack his master.

[Malach: Agrabah: Bazaar]

Malach was frowning. Well, this was fairly normal for him, but he actually had a reason this time. The owner of the vegetable stall was being difficult. Not that Mal was any less difficult with his haggling. Still, he was making progress...at least until his sister started to walk away.

"Azuria." He called after her, a bark of her name to get her attention...but it didn't seem to reach her as she kept moving. He then tried a different call.

His core sparkled with the 'Jumi call', reaching out to her core for a similar response. Whether or not she stopped he was still cursing under his breath as he quickly paid the vegetable merchant (what he felt was still too much). He picked up his spear and the sacks of other supplies he had already managed to purchase from other vendors, and made his way after his sister.

What in the name of the Clarius had gotten her attention now?

[ Narration : First District Alley ]

It was subtle at first. Hardly noticeable, what with the transformation going on. But over the next few moments, it became... stronger.

The two anthropomorphs would have felt as if they were being watched.

Beady, golden lights began appearing in pairs in the dark corners of the alleyway, moving slowly side-to-side, tilting every so often as if they were fireflies in a slow, hazy flight. They were almost enchanting at first, though they might have also sent an odd, instinctive chill down their spines.

Then there was a sudden movement, as one of the golden pairs lunged forward from the darkness to strike at Kauze with black, nondescript claws. As the lights leapt forward, their actual form became clear: a Heartless.

After the first attack, others began to swarm in from the shadows, leaping and pouncing at them. There seemed to be dozens of them, completely blocking off one side of the alley. The other side turned around a corner and would lead into the square--if they could make it.

In a busy side of the square a dark haired girl wearing a dark red bandana on her hair and wearing a long brown skirt and white shirt showing her shoulders. She played on a harp while humming a peaceful tune. On the ground in front of her she had a basket in hopes of collecting coin.

When Kay'la got to this strange world, which at first glance caused her to panic with its similarity to Ul'dah. In this disguise she soon found out wasn't for her gil was as useless as dirt here. In order to stay afloat in this strange place she has now started doing odd jobs and singing in this square for currency.

Snow sighed as she realized the poor creature was still confused. She chuckled at his comment. "Haha, yeah. I rather enjoy this form more too. I can do a lot more than my human form can."
Snow's ears twitched as an eerie crawl crept up her spine. She'd been too busy talking to notice the shadows began moving. She didn't understand though. The other fox and herself weren't moving at all.
That's when she noticed the beady yellow eyes burning into them. She squinted for a closer look. As she did so, the shadow took form and pounced at her. She yelped as she just barely missed its razor sharp claws. Snow looked around frantically and noticed a route to escape. "Come on! This way!" she yelled to the fox as she ran towards the other side of the alley and around the corner.

"Then...why don't you just stay like that?" Kauze asked curiously; however the ninetails was staring at something behind him and didn't seem to be listening; Kauze frowned as she squinted "What?" he said as he turned to see a black claw-like shape dart past where his head had been an instant before, the Fox growled as he eyed the twitchy shadowy being before him before reaching for the large fan on his back, the Fennec let out a yowl of anger as he swung it towards the creature's bulbous head "I AM NOT HAVING A GOOD EVENING!"
