Faustus Necromonium
Fire was bad. Ice was bad. Both of the elements working together to positively slam into them with a force the likes of which he'd never felt before? TERRIBLE. It was hard enough to withstand normal attacks without any kind of protective clothing...So, a combination of Fire and Ice that slammed into them twice......It was enough to both heat up, and freeze the bones. He was badly injured, his regeneration being overcome by the raw might of spells....And yet, his body tried to patch itself up as best he could, as she listed off the next topic.
"The Eagles. Sex Pistols."
He wasn't sure if he had to play the Shiratori game twice, but it was better to be safe than sorry. Rednal had been supposedly stumped on the topic, and Gin understandably had done it flawlessly.
It had been rather...trying seeing what happened if they failed the game. Their energy, drained to the point the life was fading from their faces...And, as much as he wanted to attack the queen...
"Why am I always stuck with the healing jobs.." he grumbled under his breath, before a wave of revitalizing energy would flow over the newest investigation team member....and the loser that had fallen at Gin's command. They all needed to get out of this together, after all...

Soji Seta's Shadow, The Black Messiah
"...The realm of gods and devils, where no man dares; above it all I sit as King..."

"Enough of this farce...your type has defiled my tower for long enough."

All the air in the room seemed suddenly stolen away...their lungs constricted and their very essence crushed beneath the weight of a presence that was, they knew instinctively, above and beyond any of them. From the shadows behind the spring the voice stirred, and all around him the 'Springs' began to shake and rumble...as if the foundation of this world created by the shadows was apt to collapse into nothing. Rocks began to crack and the water slowly began to drain through the cracks in the floor...steam filling the air and then parting, revealing the light footsteps of the heavy presence that loomed before all of them. And from the darkness his golden eyes shimmered like sickly spotlights, his pale skin illuminated now by the light revealed him to be almost ethereal in aura. His expression, however, betrayed none of the commanding amusement that had been ever-present upon his lips when last the members of the Investigation Team had seen him...but for the downward curve of his lips and the narrowed displeasure in his gaze, he was no less commanding. And as the world rumbled and the ground shook beneath the feet of the members of the team, the very walls of the Springs seemed as if they wanted to cave in around them...his gaze pinned them all to the spot, as if daring any one of them to raise their hand against him and reap the consequences of what they had sown. He had the look of both man and God, but the feel of the dark...and they all knew him when they saw him. They would know him by the fear he instilled deep inside of their hearts...

"It's been a long time...my friends," he twisted the corner of his lips up into a condescending smirk that would have looked ugly on another face...but on his looked twisted, handsome...but altogether wrong given that he was the shadow of that person they all relied on so much, "I'd say I'm sorry to interrupt, but I'm not. For you all to struggle like this should make me all the more ashamed that my other self calls you friends. But unlike him, I have no expectations of you...but to struggle and die."

And so the shadow of Soji Seta entered into the duet to make it a fearful triumvirate in this struggle, poised between the Empress and the team who stood against it. His eyes remained fixed on the team, however, and his predatory glare made it clear what the consequences of a false move would be for any one of them. So confident and strong they believed themselves to me...oh, but by simply stepping out of the shadows here he had reminded them of just how weak they were...he could see that in their faces. But he hadn't come here just to remind them...he had come here with a purpose...

He had come to kill.

"You wretch...pretending to be what you could never dream to become. A pale imitation of what I am...begone!" and with that terrifying command his hand raised up before the team and pulsated with a tremendous power...blue, black, almost bubbling with pent-up strength...his hand lashed out before them and a stream of energy erupted with enough force that the very Hot Springs was torn up around them...dissipating into nothingness that left only the bare, recognizable Floor of Babel beneath...and then it tore through her...red-black blood splattering upon the ground and the wall behind. There was nothing any of them could have done to stop it. Nothing at all. "Did any of you insignificant fools actually think that this nothing was of my doing? You insult me...and I ought to finish you here, now. However...not one of the rest of you is worth my time."

...

There was a hole in the body where the stomach should have been...and all around the human body that had been within the shadows of the Empress were fading swiftly. That was a mortal wound...and it wasn't merely a shadow that was dying, but the person within. The Dark Messiah had taken another life...or would have taken in a few moments, all that was left was the time for some parting words...a few final breaths. No magic in any of their arsenals would save a life this far gone. The terror before them did not bat an eye as she took her first bloody gasp free of the monster she had been trapped within for so long. And the world of the Hot Springs began to fade around them.

"Know that the same fate awaits the other pest, as well. My Shadow Lord will make certain of that," he scoffed at the team as he watched the monster crumble into a person and then, at last, towards the floor of the level in a slowly-dying heap, "Whatever game that snake believes he is playing at with his cheap copies, I will suffer this insulting charade no longer. He will die, and all of his creations will die. Just as all of you...in time...will die. Though if any of you are in a hurry...you can try to avenge your playmate." He watched them for a few moments, as if daring them to rise to the challenge that he knew they would not accept...and when no one jumped to answer him, he merely let his lips curl in amused distaste and turned his back. "I didn't think so. Hold onto your lives for as long as you can, Investigation Team...because soon, they will be at an end. It is only a matter of time, now..."

He left his words to fill the area as the last of the 'world' around them returned to the state of a simple level of Babel...and their foe, once so intimidating before them, bled out slowly onto the cold, hard floor.

...

And then, as he had come from the shadows, so did he return to them for the time being...ascending once more to challenge the heavens from his seat upon the Heretic's Throne.

"...Can I have my clothes back now?" This twice-cursed, ridiculous, self-centered, absurd night... in other words, just as expected/i]. Sigh. Still, it seemed all of them had survived, and that was the most important thing for now, even if he was starting to develop a pounding headache. A quick hug from Yidhra before she vanished helped, but only to a point.

"Tch...looks like I've run out of time." As Shadow Soji appeared, the Shadow seemed to understand what was coming and made a short aside. Even as he ignored it in favor of the gathering of people before them, the Shadow didn't strike at his back...as if that were possible. "I suppose that lord Orochi-Hetero was aware this would happen, as well. And yet he withheld that information. So you are the Black Messi-" And then it came, a blow straight through the Shadow's chest as if it had never been there, an attack that the Shadow couldn't block in it's weakened condition...and with this much power, it's likely that even if it had, another attack only would have followed, and eventually it would have been reduced to nothing regardless. Inside of Babel, there was only one Shadow with the potential to draw upon the strength of other Shadows, imitating the power that humans commanded in the outside world. To other Shadows, opposing Shadow Soji was as likely as stopping the spinning wheel of fate. Moreover, the Shadow had never even tried to...as if it were willingly subjecting itself to the fate that Shadow Soji had in store. This was what awaited those who gave in to the darker sides of their hearts, and the undeniable reality of a world composed of no living beings but the Shadows that had once resided within them.

The paradise within Babel that had been created began to vanish soon after that, having started the moment that Shadow Soji entered. The tower itself was created by the darkness in people's hearts, and responded to the Shadows, but one who was unequivocally stronger than the rest could erase any creation of it's lesser brethren with so much as a whim. The Empress had attempted to created an oasis, but Shadow Soji wished to never see such a thing...and when he presented himself, the Shadows had relented to him without such much as a struggle, abandoning their Queen. Now that she lay there amidst the dead, there was no reason to return the floor to it's former shape, no will strong enough to bring back what they'd experienced. Where Shadow Soji went, his desire for desolation was too strong, and the results could be seen and felt by everyone who remained standing.

User ImageA silence followed, as the body that had been within the Shadow crumpled to the ground. But not the one they had seen before; the black haired girl with a ponytail had vanished. As the dark ooze melted away around her, the girl that lay before them looked entirely different, physical features melting and running away like water as the figure that remained lay covered in wounds that enhanced her misery.

Then a cough filled the room, a rasping breath of one trying to stay alive. "I...knew I couldn't trust...that Snake b*****d..." The girl began to move, turning onto her back as she tried to sit up...failing as her strength waned. "Even though...he promised us...that we could have a second chance." The girl looked at her hand as she raised it before her, eyes widening, and tears pricked at the sides regardless of her bravado. "It...looks like I'm me again. The person I...really use to be. This is it." Suddenly any sense of decorum was out the window, and a muffled cry followed, her cheeks wet with salty tears. It was a far cry from the mocking creature they'd seen before, and something told them there was more to this story than they'd expected...a sentiment echoed by Shadow Soji's previous words.

Quote:
The shadows dissipate and the floor begins to lose it's shape! The Empress has been defeated, but the team is lost inside Babel, and Shadow Soji's words echo in their minds! What is brewing beneath the surface, what disorder grows between Shadows? And will the team unravel the truth, or merely be satisfied to emerge alive once again?

Rednal Ak'Thias

A moment after the girl raised her hand into the air, Rednal grabbed it and held fast - the warmth of a human, not a Shadow. ...Who was still lacking in clothing but that was her fault so she had no right to complain, okay? "You should have listened to your feelings." he said sadly, genuine sympathy clear in his voice. "What could possibly make you so desperate that you'd listen to a liar like him, knowing it wasn't going to turn out well?" ...Really starting to wish for some pants, though. That was, uh, kind of ruining the moment.

Tezuka Rembrii, Forgetful Junior
Sal....Shoot!
The boy who'd slumped and fallen towards the temptation of the Empress tried to mend the wounds of the fallen girl...But, his energy had been drained in it's near entirety. The being that emerged..
The silver haired figure with enough power to completely LEVEL the shadow they'd been fighting... The way he dispelled the threat so easily...and looked at them with such disdain......
It was all Tezuka could do to stay upright, even as the figure left. Rednal had moved over to the woman's side, but Tezuka moved to the other side, kneeling down to look her in the eyes.
"No...Don't go!" he called quickly, offering to grip her hand. "Who you were in the past doesn't matter! It's who you become in the future that does! You can't quit before you know what can be done!"
Tezuka may have had a bit of the queen's charm running through him still, but the way she worried about the past...Even at what could..
No...it can't end here. he thought...before shaking his head.
"We're here for you..all of us. You can get that chance! I'm sure of it!"

Faustus Necromonium
Faust had been bracing for the Empress's next attack...When instead, they were confronted with the overwhelming, oppressive aura of the darkest parts of their leader's self. The cool, confident smirk...with a dark and twisted touch to it. The same carefree, yet commanding aura filled the room...and, In a display of a mere part of his power.....
He annihilated the foe before them, leaving behind not the mass of shadow, but just a scared girl. Without the same commanding, queenly aura...she looked like she just went to their school. And, despite her commanding air about her prior...The way she sobbed openly, and lamented...It made his stomach turn. Faust didn't say anything, merely giving Rednal and the other boy enough space to help comfort the girl. He folded his arms quietly and closed his eyes, trying to clear his head.
'If he can do that so easily...' he thought, more concerned with how easily Shadow Soji felled the being. 'Then.....are we going to be okay?'
He merely stood a small ways away, looking around the room for an exit. If it was fading..and losing it's luster...then a path to the exit would likely appear soon.

Yasumoto KENSU
Bloods in the Rising Sun
User Image
Having fallen from the tempting aura from the Empress by his refusal to participate, Kensu was quickly fallen by her draining of his energy, leaving him almost to a husk. But then, someone that had looked somewhat familiar appeared.
Leveling the Empress with complete ease, was completely unsettling. The disregard he held to them all. And all that was left was a girl, crying in sorrow. A grand far cry from what the Empress was like, with her oppressive aura that she had. And quickly, the others that were fighting the Empress went to her side, helping her and offing her assistance. Kensu, however, stood back. He knew that he could try to help, seeming that she was in a similar situation that he also once was in. Lead on my lies, as well as tormented by people with grander power then their own. However, any great meaningful words of advice would also seem to be words of hypocrisy in his current state of mind. But if anything, he walked up to the girl and also held out a hand. "If you can stand, we can help you keep standing." He knew that the others were already there and willing to help her up, but even then, another helping hand couldn't help. Even if his current arms were less human than the others.

::Orochi Empress::

"You...don't know anything. *hic* What it's like...not to...have a choice..." The girl was still alive, but the wound from Shadow Soji remained and blood slowly dripped away as she lay there. Any strength to stand as Kensu had implied was gone, and it was clear that she was only growing weaker by the second. "There was never a reason for me to betray him. Because even if Hetero lied to us, we're already..." The girl's words began to drift off, but as they did her skin began to glimmer, peeling off into flecks of light that rose and disappeared like dust amidst the dark tower. With each passing moment the power in her body, that held the girl together, was now disappearing into nothing and leaving only a warm sensation behind...one which quickly began to transform into a vision, like a dream, which slipped into their minds with memories that were not their own.

User Image'Hey, there you are. The name's Aoki, right?' The moment the sound of her voice escaped, the kid lifted his head, nearly jumping out of his seat. The two had never spoken before, but she could tell he was shy...he always avoided the teacher's eye when possible, and unlike the rest of the class he rarely went to karaoke or other get-togethers. They said that his father was quite the savvy businessman, and a few people had tried to approach him due to his family's new-money background, but he'd always seen through their intentions pretty quickly...and instead of gaining friends, he ended up a pariah, considered a simple spoiled rich brat. But she'd taken an interest, and after two weeks of their first semester in High School, it was clear...she'd have to make the first move, or they'd never start speak to each other. "H-hi. I'm sorry, did I...?" She let out a small laugh as he instantly started looking for a reason she'd spoken to him. Any reason other than simply because she wanted too, of course. It hardly seemed necessary to tell him more, but the truth was that she was...infatuated with him? She didn't know if that was the right word, and a lot of people would have dismissed it as the whims of a teenager and her fleeting interest. They were just entering the springtime of youth after all, and yet, it felt like something special was beginning...at least to her..."I am..."

The two were sitting on a riverside, and the sun was setting. Thinking back on it, the last few days had been like a dream. He'd stubbornly refused to spend time with her at first, but she'd drug him out regardless. And the two both discovered they had a common interest in a quiet spot by the river, as well as the nearby bookstore. And then, one evening after shopping, he'd even been bold enough to ask her...how she truly felt. Even though the two had been a couple for a few days, the fuzzy sensation of a dream still tickled when she thought about her life. 'You know, I've never...really been able to spend time with others like this before. I can't...approach g-girls very well. And a lot of guys just think I act like a spoiled brat. What's wrong with ditching karaoke to get check out some books, huh? It's nothiiiing!" The girl watched as the guy stood up and started shouting at the river, and as comical a scene as it was, she could tell he meant it. He was trying to fight his own weakness, and in the same way, she felt inspired as well. "Nothiiiiiiing!" She couldn't contain herself when the guy cringed at the sudden join-in by her. He looked over, but she'd already stood up and cupped her hands around her mouth as well, though partly to hide the giggle that followed. 'I don't...know how strong I can be. But if you stay nearby, I don't care what the rest think of me. I'd take on the whole world for you, Juliet!' He raised his arm and flexed jokingly, causing another snrk. "My name's not Juliet, you baka. And don't go boasting when you still flinch every time the teacher calls on you in class. But...I feel the same." The girl turned to spot the usual blush on his cheeks, but her eyes snapped wide as she felt something soft against her lips and her vision was filled with scruffy black hair instead. W-what was he...?

'Hey look, isn't that Aoki? Pfft, looks like he finally snagged himself a girl.' As the memory faded, a pair of voices slipped in between the warm thoughts. 'No way. What, ? Everyone knows how easy going she is. She probably just heard about how loaded his dad is. I'd put up with a weirdo who holes up in his room all day like that too if it got me a fat wad of cash. Of course, she'd still have to be sexy~' 'No way, really? I knew there was something up with her...man, I almost asked her out. What a gold digger though...tsk.' The voices stopped, but the laughter continued for several moments. Even in the pitch black of the memories, across the time that flowed heedless of days without sight nor sound, those laughs still echoed...

'What's wrong? Why did you hang up on me earlier!?' Just hearing his voice seething with agitation was too much. She'd slowly begun to give him the cold shoulder for a month, but he had barely stopped asking her to talk to him, to explain what was going on. Now that they were in class, it was too much...even though he hated making a scene, she'd forced him to confront her in front of all these people. The thought caused her to look away in guilt. 'Aw, what? Are they fighting now? Pfft, serves her right. I saw him buying roses for her the other day...what a cliche, huh?' The girls nearby tried to muffle their gossip, but the sound only aggravated her. No matter how much he tried to show his sincerity, they continued to insult him...once he'd even been attacked by some punk who thought "kicking that damn hikkikimori's a**" was the way to show her his love. And when someone put gum all over her shoes, Aoki'd bought her an entirely new pair...but the next day they'd only repeated the offense, and guys were starting to openly say that she refused to date anyone unless they had so much money. At least the girls were calling her a slut. It was disorienting, how something that started out so amazing, could be twisted into something so awfully bizarre. 'Who needs roses? I hear if you just throw money at her she'll take you to a hotel on Shirakawa Boulevard...ha ha, what a loser. Girls like us are way better, right?'

"You don't get it..." Ears perked up as she finely spoke. She wanted to shout at them, to turn and spit venom at the people hiding in the corners of the room, who made this school feel like a prison. But when she looked up, it was Aoki's wounded eyes that looked back instead. "I said you don't get it! I'm done babysitting you all the time! I'm not having fun with you anymore...that's all it ever was!" She felt like slapping herself as soon as she'd spoken, but what she saw in his eyes was even more painful. But she didn't speak again, didn't refute the statement...it was the only way to make them leave him alone. It was the only way. But just when she expected him to storm off, he turned instead. "It was you, wasn't it Naoya? I told you to shut up, but you've been egging her on!" His fist shot out, clocking the nearest student easily. She knew instantly that calling him immature had backfired, but things were already spiraling far beyond what she had the means to control. "Stop it! What would a shut-in like you even know? I liked having fun with you, but you don't like to karaoke, or visit the beach, or do anything exciting! So of course I...of course I..."

'Don't you get it? I'm just done with you!'
Those words hurt the most. Even now she wished they were just a nightmare.

'Come on babe, what's wrong? I thought you wanted to party tonight, but you've hardly touched your drink. This isn't just some grocery store crap, this is preemo beer man. My dad owns a dealership, and his buddies apparently swindle stuff right off the factory line. Heh, can you believe that s**t? Taking it right from the man...but that's why we can drink for free, so why not enjoy it, right?' The arrogant voice cut itself off only to be replaced with the sound of dreadful gurgling, as the high school dropout chugged at the beer he'd been bragging about moments earlier. An arm stretched around her, and the girl lifted her blank eyes to stare at the unscrupulous crowd around her, consisting mostly of teens and delinquents from her school. Even as she looked up at the one who'd been bragging so haughtily about his father's crimes, she saw the familiar face of the boy who'd assaulted Aoki to try and get her attention. She'd wanted to harm him so badly then, and now..."Hah, you're so brave...the way you brag, you'd think you were the one with the connection. Does your dad know you're giving his stolen booze to your friends...?" Even as she complained, the girl raised a glass to her lips, sipping at the bitter taste. It tasted vile, but everyone chuckled at her expression following, and she felt like the sensation weighing on her lightened a little in the aftermath. 'Hey, who gives a crap what he thinks? Sometimes you've gotta party...that's something those adults think we kids don't know about, but you know that better than anyone else, don't ya? I hear you've been playing around with more than a few guys yourself. Heheh-urgh! B**ch...' The glass shattered over his head, but she was happy just to hear him muffled for a few moments. That droning voice was beginning to get on her nerves, and already she felt like melting away...but nothingness still hadn't come. What was the purpose of her life suppose to be, again? 'Oh, leave that b**ch alone Naoya. She's probably just upset from seeing the news earlier. You saw it right? They found that kid earlier in his room. Turns out he wasn't just skipping school, he'd locked himself in there for days and wasted away...some people are even saying he killed himself.' A sudden chortle of laughing followed, gruff and heartless. 'Oh yeah! You mean that Aoki, right? Looks like that wimp finally did me a favor. Hey, you use to screw 'em, didn't you? Bet you're glad you won't have an ex following you around now, harassing you over every little thing! Bwa ha ha-"

The whole scene froze. Aoki missing was something she was aware of. Even though she knew he'd taken it hard, even though she'd basically spat in his face in public...and sworn she would never see him again...but now he was. He was...?

A flash of silver glint cut the tension in the room, and suddenly blood droplets littered the karaoke room's table. 'SHUT UP! You didn't know anything about Aoki! He wouldn't do something like that! Even though I haven't seen him, I know that because I...because I...he...' She held up a knife, and the truant boy backed up against the door to the room, holding a hand to the gash on his arm. 'The hell's wrong with this chick? This b**ch just cut my arm for sayin' something! Tch, maybe she was right for Mr. Freako out there.' Even though he was merely insulting her, everything he said felt like an inescapable truth. She'd put Aoki in a position of suffering, and now he...he...when she looked up, the news had come on. It was a review of the biggest story from that morning...but even as the tagline ran by, only one thing stood out to her. She knew that he was lying...she wanted it, was willing to offer up her life to anyone who was willing, but even despite all the promises she'd made, the newscaster wasn't being drug off stage, the people before her weren't lying. Aoki's face hung in the corner of the screen, and they continued to speak calmly about the disposition of someone they'd never had the wonderful pleasure of knowing. Even as they dismissed him as a troubled boy, without ever really knowing...she...she...'Jeez, look what you did Naoya. She looks like she really might kill herself right now. Bwahaha! Wouldn't that just be perfect? Offing herself to be with that trash she dumped, or something. They'd probably interview us or something if we told them it was all 'Romeo and Juliet' or something...tch, I hate the news.' Even as fellow grabbed her drink, apparently dismissing the threatening violence moments ago in favor of alcohol, a silence fell. Not in the room, of course, strange techno music still playing. But inside her heart....and in her mind, the girl's thoughts were filled with reckoning. 'Juliet...' That nickname had been so funny once. But now, completely devoid of joy, it was felt with new meaning.

Maybe the idea of killing herself wasn't so bad. The night was still young. There was plenty of alcohol left, and she had the knife that none of her 'friends' cared enough to take away. Maybe she could do something. To stem the numbing...and see his face again. She couldn't picture it now with her waking eye, but maybe if she got closer to the boundary, in the hazy line between life or death. No...in fact, it felt so easy to cross it, like there was a fog before her, encompassing her...as if she were drowning...

Only the sensation of nothingness followed. The memories ended there. The feelings ended there, the belonging. The next part could be pieced together through simple deduction. But just as suddenly as the nothingness began...

"Since you were such a pathetic waste of life the first time, I'll be deciding your fate this time. Understood?" This time, new memories began. But they felt entirely disconnected from before, as if the previous life they'd seen was nothing. Standing before the tall, snake-like man were a man and woman, the Empress and Emperor just as they'd been when the team first encountered time. "I have one question, if I may. How am I here? I know that I had already given up on living, but I remember clearly; I accepted the end." The taller figure gave a dismissive frown, but then smiled slyly regardless. "It seems my Impure Resurrection still has a few holes in it. It's true that the humans you once were are dead...but I've decided to give you pathetic lot another chance. I've used the Shadows possessing your bodies to give you a second chance at Absolution. Over time the Shadows will grow weak, and you will disappear once again. What's dead is dead, after all...yours is an existence only forestalling the inevitable. In order to prevent you...wasting this gift, I granted the others new lives, erasing any memory of who they might have once been. But it seems you two are special. Perhaps that's because the people you once were, were so...close." A hand gripped the Empress' cheek, pulling it back and forth as if examining his work for any imperfections. The Emperor flinched, and for a moment the void that had become the Empress' life felt like it wavered, his agitation shining a brief light into it. "You have new bodies, and as long as you gather Shadows you should be able to prolong your existences. But if you truly wish to cast off this mortal yolk, there are only two options. One is for you to destroy every other one of my creations, just like you...including each other." The Emperor bared his teeth, but the snakey b*****d only grinned, as if holding back a laugh.

"The other is to kill, and bring me a new body. But you can't stay alive with any ordinary being; even you were already dead when I found you, and so it will remain. But there are people with a special power...Personas...and if you can bring them to me, then that will be the beginning." The pause was an obvious bait, but the Queen never hesitated in allowing him his proposition. "The beginning of what?" "The beginning of our new utopia. A world where everyone can live, according to their true, inner desires...and I will grant you new life, in the form of the one you've taken. To have a second chance, where everyone has only ever imagined...and all you have to do, is destroy their little Investigation." The two Shadows exchanged a glance, locking in clear understanding. There was only so much time remaining, and his offer seemed lucrative...but the two were never fooled. The sinister smile he'd offered the first time they opened their eyes told them all they needed to know; that he would never honor his side of the deal, even if they brought him all that his heart desired.

And yet, they were still dying...and while she didn't lament her own fate, the chance to see him once again...to return the innocent face to what it had once been...

"We...are already dead. Orochi-Hetero told us what we were...that if we twelve Shadows united, we could bring about the Fall. With that sort of power, we could even revive the dead; but he only intends to use it to bring an end to life as we know it. I knew it, but even so...even so I wanted to see him, just one more time! Even if it was a lie! But now...I...I..." The tears returned anew, but already whole parts of her body had faded. There were only seconds now until the Empress disappeared, the girl that had filled their visions, and she had already exhausted all options to prolong this amount of time. Things were reaching their conclusion...just as they had been destined to, for a long time coming. "I realized...too late, that he was the Emperor. And so I vowed to protect him with my life. Because...I didn't deserve to see him again, because it was me who...but I...*hic*..." The Empress looked at each of those gathered one last time, taking in her last sights. That they should be inside this dark tower was truly unfortunate. "Please...save him...somehow, please! If not, then please...tell him that I'm sorry...and that...I..." The glimmer finished, and the dust was blown away like a thousand fireflies, disappearing into ash and vanishing from sight.

The Empress Shadow was dead, but now that the team knew what their existence truly meant, the battle...well, one could say that it was only beginning.

Wait, so, there wasn't a villain to topple anymore? But Zeo had just went Super Saiyan 3-I-I, uh, mean...Super Pimp Mode...and he didn't do that lightly, which meant he still had 3 posts to do something awesome! And he got the feeling that he couldn't deck Shadow Soji in the face because Plot Armor, because reasons...still. 'Look at him standing there, with his back turned...walking away from us. He's looking down on me...my true enemy, believing that I'm powerless. Believing he's unstoppable. But if I can score a blow here...to show that he's no god, only a man...then...' Zeo slowly stepped forward, closing in on his enemy. Let the other guys take care of that dude dressed like a lady, he had to finish things now! Suddenly he broke into a dash, drew back his fist, lightning crackling around it...and puuunched that faaaace! "Uh, round 3, ZeovsRednalokayreadyfight!" His fist crashed into the jaw of the unsuspecting opponent in the Grand Prix, at least probably crashed because I mean, god-modding and all, but still! He had just powered down, and I was like, WAY suped up, and there's no way Rednal could see this coming! And with this one blow, Zeo moved to knock out Rednal, end the match (which General Teddie would tooootally approve of, right?), and move on to the next Round!

And then the visions from the hot chick came. And he felt like a giant douche. Turned out, Zeo had very bad timing for his shenanigans. The End, question mark?

All of these abilities are legit. Probably.
