Lunear reacted badly to crowds. More, he reacted poorly to crowds where he felt he was not worth his time nor his consideration nor sharing his same air and breathings space. It made for the whole 'go out and protest bit a touch difficult, but then, a lot of things did. Lunear was hardly one to be considered likeable or very mature even if he'd grown. He was a brat, knew it, embraced it, and yet refuted it all the same. He'd just been born a better hand and while sure the system was broken in many ways and shapes and forms, he was still above the commoners, the plebs.

It was only by the fact she was asking for his pardon and that he was in a crowd that Lunear didn't snap at the redblood who's touched his person, (had she touched him oh by the mothergrub he'd had to have this outfit burned for more reasons than hiding evidence now). Tilting his head to get a better view of her from behind his mask, the fact remained. He'd been asked a question, and while he could have brushed it off or ignored them, doing so was... a bad idea at best. He would have to play nice. Just like he usually did.

"I am afraid I have not seen your friend. If that is what I assume they are?" He smiled, wondering how many trolls actually matched the description of that tall with a lot of bows. Maybe a lot? He wasn't a bow type of troll. More lace. Lace was better, more detailed and refined, just like him.
If easier to ruin.
Also like him.

Standing on the tops of his boots he aimed to look above the crowd, only barely noticing one troll's colored ribbons fluttering about. "Tell me," he asked the red blood. "Are they of low-er, of more yellow shade? Those are the only ribbons I can spot from this distance I'm afraid." He held out an arm, offering at the least to escort the smaller troll to their companion lest they be trampled in the crowd. "Lune." He offered as his name. "I doubt you're fairing very well with ah, locating what this or that is going on given the state of the masses."

Keionx wanted to run, but she did not. She stood her ground as best she could and hoped it was enough as she was very unheroically carted away. After being put through security (the less said about that the better. Very unheroic and definitely NOT suitable for any story) she was spat out, a little tumbled, back into the crowd.

She gave the security drones a very unhappy look before brushing herself off and walking away. Fine. The culprit behind the drought wasn't even there anyway. They had found a clue – the plants – and it would point to where her adventure lay... Keionx would have to catch up with Alexin about it.

She pushed herself into the crowd, heading for the outskirts...

"Oh, yes, that's her!" Odette said joyfully, peering around to see if she could catch a glimpse of her friend. Turning back to the other troll, she noticed his arm was extended in assistance. "Oh! You didn't need to, but..." She said, blush creeping on her cheeks. It wasn't every day she experienced such kindness from strangers. Really, she was pleased that he didn't scream at her for touching him. She took a moment to compose herself, tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear. "Thank you kindly for your help, sir Lune." Odette bowed before the masked troll. Raising a delicate hand to her chest, she replied "Odette Cygnet, it is a pleasure to meet you."

She took hold of Lune's arm and followed him to Vremea. Once the yellowblood was in sight, it took all her energy not to ditch her benevolent escort. As they approached closer, Odette spotted a familiar pair of horns, with an even more familiar hairstyle.

"Athene?" Odette wondered out loud. Her pump biscuit started to beat fast. It had been so long since she had seen her! There was so much to tell her! Once the two were close enough to the growing social circle, Odette turned to Lune, letting go of his arm. She rushed to Athene and pulled her into a hug, and exclaimed "Athene! It has been too long! I have missed you so much!" Then she turned to Vremea to give her a hug as well.

"Oh Lune, this is the troll I told you about. My moirail, Vremea," Odette motioned to the yellowblood, and then turned to Athene. "And this is Athene, another close friend of mine. Friends, this is Lune." After everyone was properly introduced, Odette fiddled with her hair some more. She looked at the sand at her feet before looking up at Lune again. "Thank you again for all your help. I'll have to return the favor some day."

Katanari

((Oh boy. Way to get on the Royal shitlist, Kei. Sneaking into classified areas will do that.))

Keionx was not used to crowds, and she found herself jostled here and there as she forced her way through. By sheer chance and happenstance, she bumped into a particular redblood and was about to keep powering through when she recognized, first, the horns, then the symbol, and then – finally – the lusus.

”Ephias!” she exclaimed, ”Wolly!”

When she'd left him, he'd been at home, with his dry sink... ”What art thou doing out here?! Where thou couldst be harmed?!” she looked around warily for the drones, but after booting her out, they seemed to have returned to their posts.

”Tis dangerous out here, amongst this crowd...” her expression became one of very great and sincere concern, ”Thou... thou hast not been... chanting have thee?”

Be polite, be nice, and be good and you will gain allies. Supposedly that's how it worked. At least that's what his gut and all his learnings from the tubes and trashy books he read told him. Sir Lune made him stand a little taller, a little prouder. A little.. more egotistical. He liked this troll. He liked her a lot. She was a good red and this was placed in his mental category box of 'yes we shant call this one peasant we can call them by their name'.

It was a very sparsely filled box.

Of course, he was moderately surprised to find that the other troll he probably would refrain from calling a peasnt was the one who was the red blood's friend. Smiling, genuinely, he offered his hand out to Vremea and could have laughed.
He was taller now.

"We've met before, though I was.. shorter then. But it is a pleasure Athene. Vremea never mentioned a moirail, though, it was a ways back."

      ∞ Ephias Sagine

Total: 5

Ephias should have known better. Going to a rally was just asking for all kinds of physical contact. People were crowded in, jostling one another back and forth, and pushing through in their efforts to inspire change and be heard. It was unavoidable. Still, even knowing that he could not help but feel sour when someone barreled into him.

As Ephias got to his feet, his mouth in a barely perceptible frown, he heard a familiar voice. Or perhaps more accurately, he heard a familiar manner of speech.

“Keionx?” Ephias asked, surprised to see her. Wolly in the meantime had bounded over to the orangeblood and was nuzzling her shoulder. Ephias did not bother reeling his lusus in; he was studying his friend. Her clothes were dusty and a bit disheveled. Her hair too. Ephias dismissed it. The desert had that effect.

“It's not dangerous... yet,” he said, casting a furtive look towards the drones. “The crowd is pretty contained and no one is get-getting out of hand...” At Keionx's expression, Ephias felt a pang of guilt accompanied by a dose of annoyance. He was not some newly hatched wiggler that needed protecting.

“A little,” he admitted. “Though I don't know if it's the most effective choice of action. The p-people in charge might not be able to hear from in there and even if they can, there's no telling that they'll actually listen. I would like to think th-they will but...” Ephias sounded doubtful. He continued, “Everything just gets worse and worse. Our 'Merciful' Empress is too far removed to care and the same goes for the most of the highbloods. If we wait, nothing will happen. Nothing will change. So, we have to t-take matters into our own hands. O-or at least make them lis-listen,” he added hurriedly. He had begun to sound borderline treasonous.

He would have to keep his thoughts on better lockdown.

Giving her old friend a smile as she listened to her, the yellowblood's eyebrows knit in worry after hearing her response to the last question. She stayed quiet for a second, struck by shock— "Athene, you will not die. The letter seems mysterious, yes, but not life-risking." Hopefully. Reaching over and grabbing her hand, she squeezed it tightly. "I think we shall go on the trip as well. The rebels can spend some time without us. For now." She said, then looked back to the crowd, thinking of the new rebels that this would bring— just one time was alright, right...?

Looking to the side, Vremea happened to notice someone familiar— was that...? A smile burst across her face and the yellowblood nodded behind Athene, playing a little with her long hair as she watched Odette pull Athene into a hug and then slide over to give her a hug. Returning it, Vremea felt a little shy at her introducing Vremea as her morail, and looked up to say hello-- when her eyes bore into the other trolls with a blink. He looked... very... familiar... her eyes strayed to his horns, then to his scar, blinking again. Was that... "Lune?!" Holy crap, what the heck?! He was just a kid the last time she saw him...! "You're so-- tall," She said in awe, then caught herself, standing a little straighter.

"I was... something of a mentor of his in the past. For the WACKY problem. He and I worked together along with Milieu and an orangeblood named Zariah." She murmured, remembering the harsh days in the desert. "It was before the... Old Hemisect problem." Turning toward Lune, Vremea dimly remembered how annoying he had been. This was quite the change, unless he was just putting on a front. "We only recently became morails." She stated to him, remembering the events that led to them becoming morails and looking to the side slightly, her cheeks heating up as she looked over to Odette whom was playing with her hair. It was so strange, putting a label on their relationship, but it was true. They calmed each other down, one way or another-- she remembered having thought she'd ever get a relationship, even a morail. It seemed she was wrong. "However we have been friends for a long time. It has been a long road since then."

Why was this crowd, the jostling sound of voices, and the yells for justice, making her have flashbacks? Images of OHC kept flashing in front of her eyes. One moment she stood in a thong of trolls, yelling for the water to be returned, and the next she was in the middle of a large room. It was dark except for the burst of light from the guns and swords. There was a teen, of teal blood, large and imposing she knew barely but felt she trusted... Far away from here. Protecting someone they were fighting. Then, in another moment, she was standing stock still, sweat trickling from her temples as the crowd stirred to sing another rendition from the movie "Where the troll steals the bread and then is imprisoned only to leave and have a mistake with a child and is wanted to be culled by a highblood, but the highblood and he fall into a calignous relationship, and then the troll that escapes takes the place of a lusus who died for a child and is running around Alternia trying to raise her into a teen while still keeping contact with his hate mate until there is a civil war with some rebels and the glorious army wins of course, but the girl falls in pityship with a rebel and it breaks the older trolls heart. He eventually dies and his black mate partner kills himself out of his mix of hate pity and sorrow of his loss". Milieu scrunched her nose. Honestly, she wished there was a shorter name for that movie. Or all movies in general.

One more moment and the world changed. Odette, her small child's body, lying in Vremea's arms... Redblood pooled everywhere. And then the light, a yellow light, so warm and entrancing. Suddenly, alive. Alive again, and well. Life. Death. Death. Life. It was this circular motion that made her dizzy. Abrutply Milieu knew she couldn't stay in the protest any longer. It was too nauseating. If she remained, she'd likely lose her food and made her bile sack churn. When the flash back ended, she began to leave the area.

Picking her way through the crowd, the teal teen cast her gaze this way and that, scouring the mass of black hair and candy colored horns combination that seemed familiar. More and more were joining the protests and Milieu felt her pumpbiscuit squeeze. Crowds pressing everywhere, all the yelling, and her silence. It was dizzying, like a drop of white being thrown into a bucket of black. She stood out, but at the same time was unnoticed. There were more important things to focus upon than a troll that could not speak.

Breaking from the large group, the girl bent over and pressed a hand firmly against her chest to keep the racing heart from bursting out. After a few deep gulps, she stood straighter and continued the search.

Then she spotted them. A pair of horns that Milieu had dreamed about recognized. Vremea. An infectiously bright smile spread across her face as she began to approach the group quickly.

Her steps faltered. There was someone there she did not know. As well as... Was that Lunear? Well, she knew Lunear well enough, and one troll who was new shouldn't have dissuaded her, but... It felt wrong to approach them. As if she were interrupting, no, interfering.

The old Milieu might have slunk away, but the confident Milieu shrugged off those feelings. Writing down a greeting, she approached the group and gave Vremea and Odette a hug first ad foremost.

Then she displayed the message to them all | Vremea! Odette! Lunear too, you've grown. We've all grown.. And hello Miss. My name is Milieu Aojiro. I came to check up on Vremea. I'm so surprised to see everyone gathered. It's been too long. |

[ Sinter wasn't sure what he'd been expecting down at the Chittentown Fluid Distribution Station. It wasn't exactly quiet, but for some reason he was expecting a little more... push back? There wasn't visible property damage. At this point in his short life, Sinter was impressed with anything more peaceful than anarchistic street riots. He silently berated himself for not thinking to pack lunches.

Granted, while Sinter was pleased by the lack of violence, he was still miffed about the lack of water in the area. Pretty darn miffed. Tamiya had even come out to see what all of the fuss was about. Sinter was as touched by the gesture as he was nervous. While he didn't want to get roped in with the rabble, he was also aware that hanging out with a clown in the middle of a gathering dedicated to being upset with highbloods probably wasn't going to make him any new friends.

Sinter rocked on his heels and tried not to knock into anybody in the crowd. "Sssooo..." He turned to Tamiya. "Do you think we'll get any useful information here?"

[ Sascha took his sweet time looking around the room. He pulled books off of shelves, rooted through drawers and rattled locked cabinets. He put the bare amount of effort into returning objects to their rightful place. He didn't believe the employees would be in the position to hunt them down once they'd left. At the same time didn't want to make it too obvious he was going through their stuff. He had some class.

Sascha pocketed a heavy glass paperweight and threw a look over his shoulder to Aandes. "Yeah. Nothing interesting in here we haven't already looked at."

He meandered down the stairs at a casual pace while his lusus tried to keep up. The steps may have been easier to navigate sans shell, but the length of her body relative to that of the steps threatened to toss her all the way down like a Slinky.

Eventually they ended up on the bottom floor. Sascha was easily distracted by the portraits on the walls--not that there was much else to be distracted by. The subjects were lame old people, but the frames were shiny and well-maintained.

"I wonder what poor schmuck gets paid to dust ugly paintings every night," Sascha commented.

Katanari

Keionx gave Wolly a hug and a skritch on the head. ”No, not yet...” she cast her own furtive look towards the drones. Still peaceful. The crowd... still angry. For now.

”Don't chant!” she exclaimed, startled by her friend's words. ”Please, I beg of thee, don't get thyself into trouble.” Crazy as she was, the idea brought a chill to her guts. She knew that she – they all – walked a very thin line where the establishment was concerned, she just chose to cloak it all with her madness and decision that action was better than moping and hiding, and thus the best route, irregardless of the consequences. She could handle the consequences of her recklessness. Ephias... couldn't. She was not sure he could. And the way he was talking, he was about to be reckless, and that scared her - She couldn't let him do that.

But how?

”Then we do not wait! But we do not incite anger and violence, either.” she explained, ”We take matters into our hands! We help!” surely, helping the people would not bring danger down upon her friend... would it?

You never know with highbloods...
She ignored that thought for another, bright, sudden, heroic, and far less dangerous thought.

”These trolls thirst, so we bringeth water and give it to them!” she said, ”Isth that not better than chanting with the crowd?”

Between chants (actual chants and also shouting about water miracles), Tamiya looked down at her companion. She'd nearly forgotten he was there. When he didn't jingle, he was surprisingly quiet! Plus, he was short. Still short.

"Useful information? There is always useful ******** information if you just pay attention. p***k up your tiny antlerbeast ears and hear the goddamn truths, my dear diamond companion."

Tamiya preached. She put a hand on his shoulder and looked around. "The circus of rabble breaks up handily and reveals to our most heinous sicklords the true secrets of discontent, ********. PREACH!" Tamiya was screaming again. "CHITTENTOWN WILL BECOME DUST AT THIS RATE! SOMETHING MUST BE DONE!"

Tamiya was making a bit of a scene. She calmed quickly back to her normal high-strung state and her hand on Sinter's shoulder turned into a vice. "If you engage with the drones, find me. We will crush all bulgesuckers who oppose us for righteousness,"

He thought he'd seen him pocket something, but maybe he was just paranoid. He was one to talk, after all. If he'd seen Aandes putting away some goods, he might feel more confident to take something of his own. Maybe he hadn't been so sneaky. Either way, they had soon left with more than what they came in with. Aandes slunk out with Sascha, feeling the documents in his pockets. He smirked. This was a blast. He'd have to hang out with this kid later.

"Who knows. By their expressions it sure beats working here," Aandes laughed. He stepped in front of the more exaggerated characters of apathy and disdain and pulled a face.

"Looks like we're back at the main entrance. Can't believe security's so low here," he commented. Aandes puttered around and peeked behind some of the portraits. You know, just in case! "Oh, what's this way?"

He tentatively pointed down the hall at their next location.

Odette couldn't have been in a better mood. Yes, she was in this strange mob under dangerous circumstances, but she was surrounded by friends, and to her nothing was better than that. Even the stranger turned out to be surprisingly polite- a rare treat for the redblood. She was surprised to hear that he was familiar with Mili and Vremea, but a friend of theirs was a friend to her. Yes, everything was lovely and Odette was enjoying the pleasant conversation amidst the riot.

That was, until she heard a voice ring out from the crowd. Shrill and distinct, Odette recognized it immediately, feeling nauseated at the mere sound. A strange feeling bubbled in her blood as she stood there, eyes wide, listening to the voice. The sounds of her friends drowned out among it. She mumbled an "I have to go," to her friends, not even sure if it was audible among the riffraff.

She felt captivated, drawn to the voice, and she wiggled her way through the crowd carelessly and quickly. It got louder and louder with every step, almost exponentially. It got to a point where all she could hear was the voice and her own bloodpusher, beating fast. She saw the purple and a glimpse of the white makeup. Clenching her fists so tightly that they shook, she snuck behind the purpleblood with silent precision. Wanting more than anything to bash the girl's skull in, she raised her fist...

And stopped. Standing beside her was a kid redblood, who reminded her so much of herself that she almost thought her mind was playing tricks on her. He was clearly here with the purpleblood, but why? Regardless of the answer, the mere sight of the kid brought Odette to her senses. She couldn't attack this purpleblood now, certainly not in front of the drones that were keeping their eyes on her. With a sigh, Odette released her fists.

There would be a better time for such behavior, a better place. Swanmom might have agreed with the idea of revenge, but not here and now. It could get her and her friends involved in too much danger. But maybe there was another way. Odette could find her later, when the conditions were not so dangerous. She could possibly attack her in her own home, when she'd least expect it.

But Odette had no idea where the troll lived now. Her previous home had been destroyed, and Odette was certain the girl wasn't taking up permanent residence in Chittentown of all places. She could search for her elsewhere, but Odette didn't even have a name to work off of. She needed more information, and there only seemed to be one way to get it.

"E-excuse me..." Odette asked in the most polite tone she could muster in that moment. Inhaling sharply, the redblood tensed, bracing herself for whatever screaming might be returned her way.
