Kali shook her head at the man's curt reply. Apparently, he didn't do much talking. She was quite shy herself, so she had no idea how she would be able to get him to talk more. Why doesn't he talk much? she wondered. And how will I get him to talk? "Have you been here very long, Aiden?" she asked. She was genuinely curious about the length of time the man had been at the mansion.

Okuron Conway"Give yourself something to work towards." Okuron was starting to get a little anoyed now. Aiden was getting on his nerves. He used to be so cheerful. Now he was being all secluded. It was just plain wierd. "Yeah." Aiden replied bluntly. Hey, it wasn't his fault the newbie asked such a generic question, and that he loved giving generic answers.

Kali couldn't help frowning slightly at Aiden's continued one-word answers. She had to say something to get him to give more than that. "Pardon me if I'm speaking out of line, but could you possibly say something more than just one-word answers?" she asked. "How long have you been here?"

Okuron Conway"Give yourself something to work towards." Okuron couldn't keep from snickering a bit. Aiden now would at least have to say something. But he on the other hand, had to use all his will power to keep from laughing. But no. He had to keep it in. "Longer than you." He mumbled louder than he should have. No, more like longer than he wanted to.

Kali sighed softly. She could see that the man didn't like to talk much, but he didn't have to be impudent about it. "I kind of figured that, since I just arrived here today," she said. "But that doesn't tell me much. Do you think you could give me a less vague answer, by any chance?"

Okuron Conway"Give yourself something to work towards." The girl was now just being dumb. "No." Hmm. She may not be able to decipher that answer. Oh well. That was her problem.

Shadowgal555 sorry it took so long. i'm in a place that doesn't have wifi, but i'll be on on the weekends Kali didn't know how to respond to this answer, so she fell silent. Is there any way I can get him to open up a bit? she wondered. She looked at Emili, hoping the girl would lead her around the rest of the house so that Kali could get away from Aiden. She didn't like the man, and if she was being honest with herself, she was actually somewhat afraid of him. She liked Mr. Okuron, however, as he'd shown her some kindness, at least.

Emili Howser"Why be sad when you can be happy?" Emili smiled apologetically, a bit embarrassed that Aiden had not made a good impression. Then again, he rarely did. She had to think of a way to get Kali out of the room, but she couldn't think of an excuse. She had run out of a list of people she could introduce Kali too, something that Emili usually regretted. Had she shown Kali her room? Emili thought for a moment... no, she hadn't. Perfect. Emili spoke up. "Well, I haven't shown Kali to her room yet, so I guess we should go." She turned her head in the direction of Kali, "Ready?" ((that's ok, I'm not going to be able to get on much either :/ If Emili did show Kali to her room already, then tell me, and I'll re-write this post))

Kali looked over at Emili again, nodding. "It was nice meeting you, Mr. Okuron, and you, as well, Aiden," she said. She was grateful that Emili had come up with a reason to leave the room, and she wanted to see her bedroom. That was something she hadn't had for quite a while, and she was looking forward to having one again.

Emili Howser"Why be sad when you can be happy?" Emili guided Kali to the entrance of a hallway. On both sides of the hallway, was some kind of door or another. It was a queer hallway, indeed. Each door was different. Some were even upside down. Some doors were windows. Some, were completely normal. She came up to one of those. She opened the completely normal door, and it came to a bare room. The room had bland, green carpeting, a bland, red bed, bland, blue walls, and one, bland, white, closet. Inside the closet, would be a walk in closet, magically cursed to know exactly what type of clothing the being would feel like wearing that day. "Here's your room." Emili smiled, opened the door, and gestured inside. All rooms are like this. "The reason why it's so plain is because it's meant so the pet can decorate any way she want's."

Kali followed Emili down a long hallway. On either side of the hallway were various doors. Kali was curious about some of them, but didn't say anything. When Emili stopped and opened one of the normal doors, Kali entered the room to find it quite plain. She was looking around when Emili spoke, explaining why the room was so bare, and Kali turned to face her. "It's perfect, thank you," she said. I'll have to invest in some posters sometime, she thought. "Would it be alright for me to take a nap now?" she asked Emili. Kali was rather tired from meeting so many new people, and lying down sounded rather nice right now.

Emili Howser"Why be sad when you can be happy?" Emili tilted her head and smiled. "Sure!" She shrugged. "You can do pretty much whatever you want. No one's really into slavery here. I mean sure, it'd be nice if you pitch in a bit, but that's nothing." Compared to what I've been through. she thought.

Kali nodded as she listened to Emili's words. "Of course I'll pitch in," she said. "I know how to do some stuff, like laundry, but cooking is something I'm still working on. Hopefully someone can teach me sometime." She walked into her bedroom and left the door open, then lay down on the bed. It's so soft, she thought, sighing with pleasure. Closing her eyes, she quickly drifted into sleep.

Emili Howser"Why be sad when you can be happy?" "Well that's ok. Lavana usually does the cooking. She's one of the mistresses here." Then Emili walked out of the room, looking one last time at the sleeping neko. For some reason, Emili thought sleeping neko's were cute. After all, they clearly resemble sleeping kittens, which are also cute. Emili waked down the hall, when someone blocked her path. "Hey Raven." She calmly waved. "I am going to go somewhere, I just wanted to tell you, so you did not worry." The shadow spoke. "Ok." Emili chimed. Like that Raven disappeared, and Emili continued on her way.

Kali slept for the better part of the afternoon. As she slept, she began to dream of her time with her family. She and her siblings were laughing as they watched their father acting silly. He did this often, to keep up the family's spirits. It was a small thing, but it worked quite well. In the middle of the dream, it began to turn into a nightmare. Her family was put in chains and led away by humans, leaving Kali alone in the empty house. The silence was deafening, and Kali found that she, too, was in chains and being led to a slave van. She began to toss and turn, making little mewing sounds in her sleep. It wasn't until the humans slammed and locked the door to her cage that she woke up with a start. Kali was breathing heavily as she looked around her room, and her breathing started to return to normal as she remembered that she was safe, no longer in the pet shop.
