Every Ten MinutesAgain, much too soon, Finn was there. Saying something about misreading something...about his blood? Was Finn being a Vampire? Did he potentially have some crazy Lion-borne disease, and they needed to recheck? Whatever it was.
"Hurry up." He grumped, sleepily, as he struggled to try and co-ordinate lifting an arm through the haze of exhaustion and drugs.++++ Friendship"Oh." Ripley mused to her correction. "That's good. I need more of those." The pain killers were making him honest, at the very least. He managed a smile, and when he realized her hand was on his, he briefly threaded his fingers through hers for a weak squeeze. Though he didn't know what to say to her being upset, because he felt he had already done a pretty good job at explaining why she shouldn't be (though he hadn't, really), it was at least nice to know that someone was getting that sort of emotional on his behalf.
The silence had been enough to prompt him to start dozing off again, and he did just that, until she spoke once more.
"Can't listen if I can't hear them." He murmured, ending it with a small sigh.++++ silence is goldenIt was one of the rare moments of silence that he had, and he was enjoying every minute of it. Well, he was trying to, anyway. Finn's 'every ten minutes' or 'when it's least expected' acts had left him expecting them. He was paranoid when it was too quiet, and feared the times when the silence seemed too good to be true - because it was likely going to end real soon.
Though he should have known better, because only an hour ago he had kicked Finn out with the promise of four, and lately the other man had been keeping his promises.
Still, he was paranoid, and the paranoia kept him semi-awake enough to hear the curtain move - which only fuelled the paranoia for one long, horrible moment - and to hear the soft crinkle of paper on the table. Hesitantly, he peeked open one eye to see the offender, and found himself pleasantly surprised to see Chance there, reaching over.
"You look better." He mused, carefully extending a hand to slide the paper off the table, resting it on his stomach while he went to grab his glasses, which had been a thoughtful (and once briefly disarming) gift from the man who insisted on being a rather complete pain in the a**. The glasses went on and the paper lifted enough to look, only to find -
"...Very Punny." Ripley deadpanned, but gave a small, held back laugh after. "This is very good, I didn't know you drew. It looks just like him. Fangs and all." His own, personal monster.++++ you've been winchester'dAs Ian asked for clarification, Ripley drew his gaze towards him, looking confused for a moment.
"What did I-" He paused, recalling what he had said only a moment earlier, and slowly shook his head. "Oh. Nah, never mind. I didn't mean it that way." His gaze shifted, finding Ian's blurry face.
"You and Shiloh work well together." He continued his earlier musing, his mind stumbling easily upon the brief memories he had of the pair of them, be it in passing in the hallway, or on the field somewhere. They always seemed pretty happy, at least to him, and that was a very important treasure.
"Do you have an apple, by chance?" Once more he paused, looking confused at himself, and then looked past Ian towards the curtain that separated their beds. "Not By Chance, of course, but you know - if you had one."

Every Ten MinutesFinn watched his friend struggle pathetically against what he assumed was a drug addled and sleep hazed mind. "s**t, wait, nope. This was the chart for the guy across from you! I swear this place is a ******** s**t show today, Ripples. Sorry to disturb you again." He was beginning to sound slightly less apologetic and more mocking, though he doubted Ripley could tell the difference. He didn't even bother asking for a kiss. This time he just left. ---- Ten minutes later he was back again. "Wake up! I brought you your delicious liquid dinner."

Friendship
Chel could see Ripley fading fast. "You got feelings, dumby. Ain't no one not got feelin's."
She leaned forward to kiss Ripley poor injured forehead and then let go of his hand. "I'll see ya tomorrow starshine. Get some sleep."

SentinelChel dutifully showed up the next day, albeit at a vastly different time since her schedule was ridiculous. But she wouldn't let Ripley down. She poked her head in the door, first checking to see if he was even awake.

Chance smiled benignly at Ripley. "Thanks," he said, and then added, "I feel better, at least. Not quite so much like my stomach's been ripped out and then stuffed back in. This whole fast healing thing is pretty cool, I've gotta admit, even though I was sorta hoping never to have to experience it."
There was still a dull ache around his midriff, but it wasn't nearly as bad as it had been the first day. He let out a laugh. "I did a bit of drawing before I came here, but I'm glad you like it. I still sketch a little here and there to just sort of pass the time, and, well, I figured it might help with the whole..." A pause. "Finn thing."
Meaning the whole coming by every ten minutes to check on him. Chanced reached for his notebook and pencil again.
"Got any requests?"

you've been winchester'd
Ian frowned because that wasn't an answer Ripley. But he let it go because Ripley was in pain and he wasn't about to push anything.
A flush of happiness spread across Ian's cheeks. He shifted in his chair, trying to look bashful but really he just looked like an exciteable little kid, practically radiating with pleasure. "Thanks, Sammy," he said. "I'm glad you think so, and I'm really glad thinks worked out as well as they did with him, and that I didn't ******** everything up entirely."
He opened his mouth to answer the rest of Ripley's question, but there was a confused look on his face to match the one on the other man's, Ian following his gaze to the bed over.
"Uh," he said, not getting it, "Not with me, no, but I can grab you one from the cafeteria, if you want?"enoh love ksdjflsjdjlfsdf kichy pls

Every Ten MinutesRipley was not subtle about the annoyed groan that left his lips this time.
"I'll starve." He insisted - and likely promised - his not-boyfriend. "Go away." It was useless, but at least he tried. "Please."++++ Sentinel"Go. Away." Ripley nearly growled at the figure that peeked in, only aware that someone was there and not, of course, who it was. Finn had made him paranoid, and it was beginning to show.++++ silence is golden"I'm glad." He meant it, he really did. Getting better was always a good thing, no matter what else was happening. "But - this was only a matter of time." It was a regretful thing, but another sad truth. Chance was going to end up here one way or another, at some point.
"The Finn thing." The pale man grumbled, regretting every moment he had in this infirmary, for more than one reason. Though, really, it was because of one really big reason. A reason that was Finn-shaped. He regretted his infirmary stay because of Finn, not because of what he had done. His mind wandered and he gave a yawn, but his attention moved back towards Chance as the other man gave his offer.
"Actually-" Ripley started, an idea dawning on him. "I do. But it's not art. Can I ask a favour?"++++ you've been winchester'd"You did good." Ripley assured his brother friend, before the rest of his focus went on the promise of an apple. An eventual promise, but a promise.
"Please? If it's not too much trouble." He was craving one right about now, and like hell he was going to tell Finn that.
Except, if Ian did go, he would find Ripley dead asleep upon his return. Passed right out, and as comfortable as he could get.

Every Ten Minutes"I would really rather that you didn't." Was his quick but rather dead pan sounding response not two seconds before he dropped the tray of "food" with a loud clatter against the small rolling table that was currently at the other mans bedside. "I'll go away when you eat something." For ten more minutes anyways.

Every Ten MinutesRipley frowned at the food that was dropped on the table as Finn gave him what he considered to be an ultimatum. It took him a moment to sort through what was being said, and what it meant at face value, but eventually he pieced it together enough to look up at the other man.
"If I eat this, You have to leave me alone for the rest of the day."

silence is golden
Chance had started sketching out what appeared to be another drawing of Ripley, though it was just a simple one, based on their current situation. A few lines of the other man's face, sans glasses, which he doodled sitting on the bedside table instead.
"The Finn thing," said Chance, in mild amusement, adding a line of hair that fell across Ripley's forehead. "It's kind of..."
But he let it trail off, because after having learned what he had about the two of them, he couldn't say a whole lot without revealing that he did know. So instead he just shook his head a little, giving a small laugh, and said, "He's quite a character isn't he?"
Another line, this one to add a bit of depth to the glass. But Chance lowered the pencil and raised his eyes at Ripley's question, blinking over at him curiously.
"Sure," he said, without hesitation. "What's up?"

Chel very broodily replied, "Yer the one that ********' told me to come a*****e." More hesitantly, and almost somewhat fearfully, she added, "Did Finn tell you what happened?"

Every Ten Minutes"I can't leave you alone for the rest of the day, since I'm on shift and have to check up on you." Not every ten minutes but at least every couple of hours. But ah, bartering! This could be interesting. "Eat everything and I'll stop by once every 30 minutes until my shift ends and then I'll give you two hours before I come back....and you aren't allowed to get me kicked out again."

Every Ten Minutes"Damn." Augh, bartering. He did his best to focus on what was happening, to make sure he didn't get the short end of the stick.
"Every hour until your shift ends, then three alone, and I won't call security on you for the next four days." Because he was pretty sure he'd be out of here in four days. If god was good, anyway.++++ silence is goldenChance was closer now, and Ripley had his glasses; it meant that now, as the other man was sketching, he watched on with a blank expression despite the curiousity he felt deep down.
"It's kind of what?" Ripley caught the way he trailed off, in such a way that didn't quite match up with what had been said next. Or perhaps it did, and he was still under the affects of the drugs. Honestly he wasn't sure, so checking was the best bet he had at the moment. "But yes, he certainly is something." He agreed with a small sigh, watching Chance's sketch process until the other man agreed to the favour, which made him raise amber eyes to meet blue.
"When you get out of here - can you distract him for me? For eight hours."

Chance waited a minute before he answered, adding a few extra lines to Ripley's hair. "I just meant that Finn is outrageously stubborn - and literal - about the whole checking every ten minutes thing," he said, lifting his eyes to give Ripley a slight smile. "He's a piece of work, really."
He shifted a little, finding the request not entirely surprising, considering, but all the same, it made him raise his eyebrows a little, Chance tilting his head to the side.
"Sure," he answered, and then added, "Well, I mean. I'd be willing to at least try, though I'm not entirely sure how to distract him for eight hours; that's a pretty long time period."

silence is golden"He's a delight." Sarcasm was his best friend, too. Everything Chance had said about Finn was absolutely true, but it seemed like there was a lot left unsaid, though he felt his rather sarcastic comment may have helped cover that a little bit.
"Drug him?" He went on to suggest. Eight hours was a long time, but there was plenty to keep him occupied. "******** him?" He mused, head tilting slightly. "Or both." He spoke as calmly as he would discuss the weather, and shrugged to boot. "I really don't care, just keep him away from me - and that includes texts - before I do something stupid." Like threaten to end what they had.
"I can give you a thousand dollars, if you wanted to take him off-island." Yes, he was that desperate to get his not-boyfriend away from him.
