Ril couldn't say that he was at all surprised when the Oban Vanguard was dealt with in what was a rather swift and brutal manner. The battle wasn't something he was all too terribly interested in but what had led up to the battle, he actually knew that much at least. The Obans were the sort that came in, took over, enslaved people, and otherwise caused a lot of havoc. They were the sort of people that Ril's father would just love to have dealings with he thought to himself, his hands going to rest on the hilts of his swords when he watched those massive beasts as they came closer to where he was standing with Yaholo.
He lifted his gaze slowly to look up at one of them before he was suddenly moving, darting around Yaholo, then raced toward one of the big beasts. He was quick to run up one of the giant beast's legs, pulling out his twin swords as he went, and used them to make a couple of deep slashes as high up as he could reach before jumping backwards off the creature's leg. He landed nimbly on his feet, bounced back a couple steps, and prepared himself for his next attack against the monster. It was going to take a lot of doing to take down something this size meaning that he wouldn't be able to just hold his ground and defend. Not when the thing was getting so close to the one thing in the world he actually cared about.
Attempting to dodge: 13+5=18 1-14 = full damage, 15-17 = half damage, 18-20 = no damage Retaliation: (13+3)/5= 3.2 damage dealt
With a few responses from the people around her, Finnley nodded and began to focus back on the matter at hand. The battle. The vanguard had been defeated quickly to her surprise. She was also happy that it didn't seem that anybody was going down. Though she had seen a few get hurt from the vanguard but nothing life threatening. But then the beasts from before were close enough and began rampaging...right towards her. "W-watch out!" She cried as she jumped to the side and rolled to absorb the impact. She had escaped the Arwa thankfully. She grabbed a clump of dirt that had been blown aside by the force of the Arwa and threw it by hand at the beast. It seemed to hit a nerve or an existing wound as it didn't seem too happy at her attempt of a physical attack.

Quoting both since I don't know which is easiest. I didn't know how retaliation worked with magic users so I just rpd it as a physical attack. I hope thats okay. I can change it cuz I don't want to use one of her spells for that if thats not allowed.
While the Obans scattered, Bhima's focus turned to the beasts that had so horribly damaged their forces the last time. She had been able to hold her own against them, and so she leapt with blades raised as the one nearest the group. Her blade met flesh and coaxed blood.
Successful dodge (no dmg) Successful counter-attack for 2.75 DAMAGE
Gah! These creatures were unimaginably aggressive! Nyiim was able to roll out of the way of the approaching beast while others would feel the sting. Unfortunately his shot from his new kneeling position was not particularly accurate and only met the beast's shoulder. Any damage was good damage, he supposed, and he moved away to try and avoid a second stampede, nocking another arrow.
Has +3 to attack for 2 turns (Ikkio's spell) (1/2 turns) USING POINTBLANK SHOT 18 needed, 19+6=25 HIT DAMAGE: (18+6)/2 +3 +3= 18 DAMAGE TO ARWA 1
Kelina was determined. She had done a lot of practicing and training since Neued and it was apparently paying off. Her eyes narrowed at the beasts who had approached and gotten out of control so quickly. It was attacking a group where her new archer acquaintance was! Thankfully...he made it away almost safely. That beast was far too close to her comrads. She would use one of her new attacks on the beast. She was just about to attack when she felt a slight tingling over her. She looked around to see the prentice she had met earlier staring at her with a book in her hands. Nodding and smiling her thanks, she focused and released yet another arrow. It hit the arwa deep, almost all the way to the fletching she noticed with satisfaction.
maatthh 18 needed 1+7= 8 MISS Damage: (__+7)/2= ..
Fleade had been proud that her last attack had hit. And then her confidence wavered as the beasts started attacking. She was about to attack one of the beasts when it started attacking a group near her. Her moment to attack was gone as debris flew towards her and she shielded her eyes. Drat! She thought. She wouldn't hesitate again!
Vollerei Location: Resistance Zone 1 | Attacking: Full attack(Aggressive Roots) on Arwa 2 | 23.25 Damage Dealt | Health: 47/47| Post count: 2 battle; 8 rp earlier

Attack Calculations: Attacking Arwa 2: def of +8 so I need to beat an 18. To hit: 12(roll) +13(atk) = 25: Hit! Damage: 18 +13=31/2=15.5 damage*1.5=23.25 damage dealt
Using Aggressive Roots! (healed 4 hp... not that I need it XD) and *1.5 damage!
Vollerei, smashing her way aggressively through the Obans towards the Arwa was only half focused on them. She could care less about the Obans right now; she knew her people could beat them! Those Arwa though.. they had been what defeated her people last time; they must die! From the sounds around her she could tell her side was decimating the Oban soldiers; despite their skill they were no match for the ferocity of the Tendajians!
The Arwa she noticed were not in top shape; what ever happened to them at the camp must have made them sick! She thought with glee; perfect. Planting herself to one side she called upon the powers of Aisha to aid her; rooting herself to the ground to grant extra strength to her stab. She aimed at the area behind the knee of the great beast, thrusting up with no care to defense. All she wanted was to attack and get rid of the beasts... then they could mop up the rest of the Obans and eat the Arwa's in a victory celebration!
Kauff Location: Resistance Zone 1 Attacking: Arwa 1 (needs 18 to hit | rolled 5 + 8 = 13 MISS) Damage: n/a
Seeing the vanguard fall to his blade—and admittedly the blades, clubs, and staffs of many others—was quite the victory for Kauff, and he smiled again as he watched them retreat. But his first taste of triumph in battle proved short-lived as the Obans' pair of giant beasts approached next, tails lashing.
He didn't know enough about them to be able to tell if they were sick or slow, all he knew was that he was hardly out of breath and there were things that needed hitting. Kauff rushed in close, clumsily slicing at the Arwa and missing completely as it dodged out of the way.
Action: powered up BarAmal attacking Area 2. 15+ 6 + 3 *power up*= 24 5+6=11/2=5.5 (+3)= 8.5 dmg to arwa 2!
BarAmal had been focusing on the other Arwa so the attack from the second beast had caught him by surprise. In truth he should have countered however that had not been his fist though by the time he had turned and readied the beast had attacked another. Drawing back he fired at the creature glad to at least have an enemy he could face and not feel bad about fighting.

*Ikkio Casts FORCE on VOLLERAI * 1-10 = misses, 11-15 = +1, 16-19 = +2, 20+ = +3 * 10+7 = 17 = +2 * Vollerai has a +2 Bonus to her attack! (2 turns)
Ikkio couldn't help but laugh out loud at how the Obans fell before the might of the people here. Spying a typically ferocious alkidike, she sent magic her way, wrapping the green woman with cold, cruel power.
She held that power in her hands. She was that power. She could kill with that power.
She laughed again, as the great beasts came towards them and looked to her father, brushing hair out of her blazing eyes.
Spells: Fire lvl 2: 6/7 Lightning lvl 2: 6/7 Fire lvl 1: 5/5 Lightning lvl 1: 5/5 Life lvl 1: 1/1
* Biroki used Fire lvl 2 on Arwa 2, Arwa 1 * Needs 18+ to hit * 8+15=23 HIT *16+15= 31/2 = 15.5 damage to ARWA 2, 7.75 damage to ARWA 1 *14 = burn not inflicted
Biroki was, indeed, just getting started. As the Vanguard failed and fled before their own beasts, he gathered flame energy to himself, drawing from the heat of Jahuar and the passionate spirit of the people around him. His magic was like a seed, crystallizing all the hopes and dreams and anger of the people of Tendaji into something tangible, something that blazed hot and wrathful.
With a yell, he threw his gathered ball of fire at the charging beast. The magical flame slammed into the Arwa's armor and blossomed into a great flash of heat and light, it's tendrils searing the other Arwa as it went.
Heat crackled at his fingertips as he prepared for his next spell...
*Nuawahn uses FORCE lvl 1 on SHALVESTA * 1-10 = misses, 11-15 = +1, 16-19 = +2, 20+ = +3 * NATURAL 20 GO NUA? = +3 to Attack!
Nua was foggy on what happened after Ogbonna ran into the healer's tent, and foggier still on whether he had been awake or not during that time.
All he knew was that he had woken up with a still-pounding head to a bunch of Obans who decided to 'remind' him what his relationship was to them.
He was a slave. They were his masters. And he would listen to what they ordered. Nua hurt too much to argue.
So, when they pushed him out into the field and a man with a whip told him to start casting his spells, he did it. He looked over at the big beast on the Tendajiian's side - his side, full of people who hated him now, and at the Oban trying to attack it with a sword.
He cast his magic, the warm, soft light curling around her, bolstering her muscles and will with pure positivity... It was a good spell, but Nua...
Nua wasn't feeling particularly positive just then...
*Ruelash uses THREE WONDERS on ARWA 1 * Needs 18+ to hit *8+13= 21 (hit) , 16 (Miss), 11 (miss) *6+13=19/2= 9.5 DAMAGE TO ARWA 1
By the time the Vanguard was done with him and the rest of Tendaji, Ruelash was covered in a lot of other people's blood and loving it. It was so hard to keep track of heads, though - he slashed and slashed and slashed again and the people just kept coming and going...
But he had a sense of who he'd probably killed, and he was trying, honestly trying, to keep count.
And then he ran out of heads, and watched in dissappointment as the rest of the vanguard scattered...
But not for long.
"First one t' take the big 'un gets bonus points!" he crowed, striking out in a flurry of shining crystal at the beast...
* +2 speed (2/3 turns) * Kaalnia attempts to dodge, Second two dice are in case a Counter is needed ~ *10+3+3=16 = Half Damage (Kaalnia takes 7 damage) * Kaalnia Counterattacks ARWA 2: needs 18 to hit *12 + 10 = 22 (HIT) *11+10=21/5= 4.2 Damage Dealt back to ARWA 2
It was the movement that Kaalnia enjoyed, not the fight. The fight was messy and awful and deadly. She used nonlethal force where she could in her battledance, but she knew she had seen someone breathe their last on her spear.
She shuddered, as she moved, keeping the chill from settling into her joints, saying a quick series of prayers she had picked up to set the dead at ease even as she hurt their fellows.
Soon, though, they were retreating, and Kaalnia breathed a sigh of relief at their survival.
She soon had to move fast, as the big beasts of the Obans charged in. The raging fury of one of them nearly knocked her off her feet, and she dodged back and slashed at it before any real damage could be done, though a leather strap lashed her along the arm as it pounded by.
She sucked in her teeth at the pain and, still moving with the eternal music that only she could hear - if hearing it was -, she followed the beast to see what more she could do to it...
