Justin touched one of his ears and sighed. He was late, horrendously late - the missed time had been spent dodging his relatives with a dexeterity that did not come easy for Justin.Ah, Durem. The suburbs were home to his mother and one of his sisters and of course the family congregated there for every holiday and big event. Excepting him, of course. It was pure luck that this Halloween party had coincided with his sister's wedding. Well, sort of coincided. The wedding wasn't for another week or two, but his mother had decided to lump it in with Halloween and Thanksgiving. Justin had barely unpacked and he already wanted to strangle someone. Multiple someones. He hated it. With a sigh, he scooted into the garden, looking around curiously and straightening his blue shirt. Justin was Spock tonight: shiny, 2007 reboot spock, although he could not quite tame his hair into the pin-straight bowl cut a Spock costume dictated. In fact, he hadn't even had moderate success. Illogical. His hair was still the usual messy and long wave, curling around the collar of his uniform. In a bag (cleverly disgused as a tricorder - or, at least he thought it clever), he'd put the little vial of fei essence because why not? And also because he didn't feel like leaving it in the curious clutches of his family. But tonight was a night to forget his family - before he'd be forced to remember for the entirety of November. MAybe he could break an expensive vase and get banned for Thanksgiving. Sighing wistfully, he drifted towards the drinks, snagging a hot cider before heading to the lounge. With light steps, he advanced on a suspicious ghost. No legs meant it was a raevan. The proximity to Anita meant it was likely Cruz. There was Poison Ivy (whom he hadn't really met - although he thought it was the raevan from the beach, the one with shells or something), Anita the skeleton (and didn't she look terribly comforatble?), and Cruz. He stood behind them for a second, hoping to startle them or something. The spirit of Halloween and all that, although his costume was not cary in the least. "Cruz, I find your costume fascinating," Justin said in his very best Spock impersonation. "Hello, Anita, and ...ah, I don't think we've really met." He beamed at the lot of them, feeling the essence weigh down his bag. He would need to show them sometime, he thought.

((Tatiana & Cam - Lounge - Lulu & scanning the crowd at large ))
Tatiana pursed her lips and swayed her shoulders slightly at the compliments. She grinned and hummed to herself glancing over at Cam before flushing.
"Oooh- I like you more and more, Lu..." She paused ruffling her feathers as she considered how the nickname rolled off her tongue. Given the Sigel's name it had to be a common one however, she still felt the need to ask- "Lu is okay to call you, I hope?"
"H'd reckon y'did rathuh well bu' I ain't the authority on such matters," Cam nodded and admired the fierce design once more before swiveling to glance for any familiar faces. He squinted recognizing more and more from the crab boil and Harrison's endeavors to reunite him with reality.
Anita, Cruz were obvious. The other-other adopted children by the man who couldn't have enough strays. Cesc from Hockey night but he was now arm in arm with an exiguous woman. Justin alway looked familiar. He returned to the two raevans.
"So- now tha' 've deemed y'both th' belles of th' ball where to?"

((LuLu - > Lounge )) The sigel nodded without hesitation. That nickname was already familiar to her. A favorite of her guardian. "It is." She could not help but smile at the hamsa's modesty and the way the frei lit up after compliments. "You should let others enjoy the costume you worked so hard on." LuLu motioned in a wide circle around them and the crowd that had gathered for the party. Tati was also sure to get plenty of praise throughout the night. The rabbit began to move to another area of the party but abruptly stopped when the feathers on her hips brushed into a party goer. She spun around carefully to assess for any damage. The sigel spotted an unfamiliar frei. LuLu's jealousy spiked just slightly at the way the spider wore sheer whites framed with dainty lace. They complimented her porcelain skin so well. Anya did indeed look like a specter. Something ethereal. The rabbit did not have such luck with fragile looking garb. They had a tendency to clash with her features and often ended up drown out by the fierce red of her birthmark or the bright display her wings were adorned in. Nevertheless LuLu spoke evenly, "Sorry. I should be more careful in my costume. Good evening." A curtsy punctuated her words. The feathers on her headdress bobbed with her.

[[Doucette >> Troxel]] The redhead let out a gusty sigh, resting a finger on her little baron's cheek before nodding at the obvious wisdom of the real pilot.
"I just...can't help worrying," she said, eyes darting over towards Revontulet with all the concern in the world. "After everything that happened."
Doucette had lowered her voice, careful that the aurora would not overhear the tone the girl had come to call overbearing in the last few days. In an attempt not to drown her so-called first born in worry and nattering, Doe now focused all the nervous energy on the little bundle of happiness flopping about in Trox's carrier.
Keegan, at least, couldn't complain if she watched him too closely.
Being a hovering mother was not out of character for the woman by any means, but after feeling like she'd let Ren down so badly, and being unable to try and make amends, she now felt determined to prevent the newborn to suffer even a second of unhappiness.
"She looks happy, right?"[[Revontulet >> Tatiana, Lulu, Anya]] The aurora did, indeed, look quite happy at the moment. The music and chatter of the party seemed to fill her and her rune (and even her hair for the first time in months) glowed with the excitement coursing through her.
Standing on tip-toe so to speak, Ren was on the look out for familiar faces. They were comfortable and easy, something sorely needed at this moment. And, with the whole aurora-ordeal, she had not done well with keeping up with her friends.
This, she was ready to remedy.
Immediately Revon had caught sight of Tatiana and thought to follow in her sister's footsteps, recognizing the bunny sigel even under all those feathers. But before she could move forward the two had parted ways slightly.
Troxel's mention of Anya had the girl's head turning towards the white lady, a smile forming at the simplicity and beauty of the queen's costume. And what luck! Lulu had just joined in with the frei as well.
"Yes, it's Anya."
Eagerly, but careful to maintain her poise for the delicate balance of her own costume, Ren moved towards Lulu and Anya, hopeful she wasn't interrupting their conversation. It did not occur to her that it might be possible these two good friends of hers would not already know each other.

((Tatiana & Cam - Lounge -> Lulu, Cesc (et. prox) | Harrison - Entrance -> Doucette ))
Tatiana scrunched her nose in confusion at the velvet-eared sigel's aloof yet endearing demeanor. She smiled pleasantly and gave a tiny wave with a - "I'll catch you in a bit". She leaned back and pressed a wing into Cam's shoulder for stability as she craned her neck- seeking the crowd at large again. A mop of pink hair caught her gaze and she let out a tiny sigh of relief, approaching the group of guardians and raevans- that little one was very new.
"Ey- it's your buddy." Cam mentioned at the sight of Cesc- juggling a drink and phone now as he checked Troxel's current position.
"Yes but he looks busy- I don't want to interrupt," Tatiana pursed her lips.
"You're at a party, Tati, sneaking into conversation - politely- is all part of the program and social norms bit." The medic chuckled, sliding his phone into his front pocket.
The hamsa groaned. Barring the beach party she'd been happily avoiding large crowds and social gatherings. All the Raevan link ups were in small groups in safe places set up by Harrison- who had a far more hands on approach than Cam did when it came to 'parenting'. She glanced over at her uncle to see if he had any more offers of advice or maybe he'd at least help interject however, Cam wasn't budging. His face remained fairly slack and lack luster, the one eye not covered by a patch was half lidded and pointedly staring at her.
He took a draw on his drink and managed to look more unsympathetic in response to the pouted mouth and pursed brows Tatiana threw him in. His mask of apathy was broken by a large beaming grin as soon as she dropped her shoulders and the distressed act to move toward Cesc, Vivi, Duncan and Aina.
As the Hamsa drew near her shoulders drew up once more, cautious and anxious to not ruin any sort of conversation. She drew in on herself in a way Harrison Troxel needed to because of her size- attempting to make herself smaller. A smile pinched her cheeks and she managed a tiny wave at the group.
"Uh- Hi!" She glanced over at Cesc and then to the other three individuals, "I saw y'all and I wanted to say .. hi."
--
"She's glowing, Doe-bear," Harrison sighed, smiling happily and a lot more content with the whole Revontulet thing in general, "Literally we could ask her to stand in the bathroom and would save the cost of a nightlight."
He leaned over, pressing a kiss on the top of the mess of red curls, "You done good. Ren has done good. We have a very happy, healthy, sleep deprived family."
Keegan gurgled, kicking tiny feet out and deciding once again the hand was the tastiest part of this new world.
"Let's go say hi to Zeke-- And then I've really gotta check in with Tatiana. Cam's been pinging me since we first unloaded from the car."

(( Cruz and Anita – Lounge w/ Ethiriel, Henry, Justin ))
Both the frei and his guardian went to attention upon hearing their names. It was impossible to see beneath the sheet, but Cruz was absolutely beaming; his eyes were wide and vibrant against the stark white. ”Thiriel,” he purred as they approached.
”Hey,” Anita laughed and gestured to their costumes in turn, ”so are yours, wow. It's great to see you both.”
Without even needing to be told, Cruz jumped at the chance to bring Ethiriel over to him. He took her hands carefully despite the barrier the sheet caused and, with a bit of adjustment, pulled one of his arms free for her to anchor herself to. ”How are you? Are you chilly?” The sheet was providing a decent cloak of warmth for the croc against the Autumn breeze but the declining temperature was one he couldn't ignore.
Once the two freis were settled, Anita turned her attention back to Henry as another friend approached. ”Justin,” Cruz rumbled appreciatively. He didn't recognize the costume.
”Oh, hey man! Thanks,” she idly pulled at one of her braids and looked down at herself, ”kind of a budget year but pretty fun anyway. Oh--” With a quick hand, Anita presented Henry to Justin and smiled at both of them, ”This is Henry, he's Ethiriel's guardian.” The tea frei received a similar gesture. ”Guys, this is Justin.”
Anita crossed her arms and turned back to face him with a sly smirk accentuated by her skull facepaint. ”And I heard through the new call sheets that you snagged yourself an essence. Welcome aboard.”

(( Claire & Aaron --> Lounge, approaching Anita, Henry, Justin, Cruz, & Ethiriel ))
Once the cookies had been deposited on the buffet table, Claire nodded towards the lounge, where most of the crowd seemed to be gathering. "Let's go see if we can find anybody." She tugged on his sleeve to get his attention, as his own attention was on the table before them. Aaron turned around, his mouth already full of sweets.
"Founs goo'," came his muffled reply, followed by a grin. Claire shook her head, her hand sliding into his free one as they made their way through the crowd. She was beginning to regret her choice of costume as the wind picked up, and goosebumps sprung to life on her exposed stomach. But Aaron had insisted, and Claire had to admit, the costume idea was pretty good, especially after a two year hiatus. Might as well come back with a bang, right?
"Fee anyon'?" Aaron asked through his next cookie, and Claire was halfway through shaking her head when she recognized a familiar face next to a tall man with shockingly green hair to match his Joker costume. She tugged Aaron's arm and led him over.
"Hey there!" Claire called out happily as they joined the group. Aaron swallowed what he was eating and raised a hand in greeting. "Hope we aren't barging in."
"Hey Justin, dig the costume," he added, nodding his approval. He was only a recent fan of Star Trek, truth be told, and into the newer movies moreso, but Justin was easily recognizable as Spock, and likely put more effort into his costume than Aaron and Claire had (two or three afternoons worth of thrift shop hopping). His gaze honed in on the skull-faced girl before them, and it took him a second to recognize Anita beneath the face paint. "How's it going, Anita?" As his eyes scanned the group, his jaw slightly dropped at the Joker next to them, having only just noticed him. "Damn. Your costume is awesome, man."
Claire, meanwhile, smiled at the group and turned her attention to the hovering sheet nearby. The green ribbon poking out ever so slightly underneath gave away Cruz's identity, although the lovely Frei next to him was a new face. Not wanting to interrupt, she waved politely in greeting.
