"Mother health is doing better. Father is well, and so is my elder brother," he paused. Sei was alright when he had left, but mother wasn't to fond of the Gehaka. Sei was needed to help father in the forge so his brother couldn't be punished horribly. "We deal in scribe's work. Elegant banners, signs, notices, and the likes. Father also does a bit of repair and other odds and ends in the forge."

Shizuka lifted his pale grey eyes and stared at the beautiful Haka as it spoke. "I'm s-sorry, Honorable One. M-My mother always taught me to bow when in the presence of a H-Haka... she said that if I did not I would never marry like my br-brothers." He was so nervous, poor chap, that he still remained kneeling.
At the mention of his opposing views, Shi rose and sat just under the shade of a nearby tree, one not so far the he couldn't comfortably talk to his new acquaintance (sp). "I'm sorry," he said again. "I'll remember that..." He reclined just a bit and checked himself for cuts anywhere on his body, any cuts and he'd be in trouble.

"there's no need to call me Honorable One either. Just call me Tsukiko, without any honorifics." The raven haired haka said as he sewed. He then threaded the needle with a different color and started to sew another part of the doll. "what's your name?" He asked.
He took a second to look at the gehaka. The pale skinned gehaka looked very fragile. It would be very hard for him to find a husband. Tsukiko felt a bit sorry for the other but that's just the way things were. He couldn't change that.

Shizuka stared idly past the Haka, trying not to be rude, until he was spoken to. Then he was a bit surprised and stated sofly, "I shall... it's a pleasure to meet you Tsukiko..."
He watched with growing interest as the Haka took out a different colored thread and continued to sew on the doll in his lap. He could see where sewing could be just as tedious and just as delicate as carving out boats... He inched as far as he could without leaving the shade to watch Tsukiko's delicate hands work.
It's true, it was very hard for Shizuka's mother to convince any Haka to marry him, even those that wanted him for nothing more than a possession. He had a great heart, and other surprises that lurked inside, but his health was just such that none could see past it.
Blinking innocently, he looked up and matched gazes with Tsukiko. "I am Tsukiko, Shizuka," he said, placing a hand on his chest and bowing his head just a tad before raising it again. This was his family custom when meeting someone for the first time and was a great sign of respect and warm welcome. "Who is that doll for?" he asked curiously, eager to know more about the dark-colored beauty. (Gotta go in 10 minutes)

"Ah, I'm glad to hear that." Hachiro tilted his head slightly, raven locks spilling over half of his face as he studied Shinku. "Scribe work...I was never taught how to write." This was said with a hint of remorse, and the trace of a wistful smile. "Mother said that writing was not my business, and I shouldn't worry about such a thing."
He seemed interested about Shinku's father however, glancing at the Haka once more. "Does he? And your brother...what does he do?" If the more delicate male didn't feel like answering, Hachiro would not press him to answer. Family affairs were a sensitive, personal matter, and he should not pry too deep into where he did not belong.

Shinku's eyes lit up. He was proud of his father and brother. "Brother helps in the forge as well. He repairs weapons and he makes small weapons. Like Tessen((bladed fan)), Kansashi((Long six inch needles)), and Kunai." Most of the weapons he name was small concealed weapons that even a Haka could weild.
"Writing is rather easy to learn after you learn the letters." He glazed at the Gehaka. Taking a first mate was important to a Haka. Hachiro was handsom, sweet, and strong. He pushed his hair back becoming silent as they walked thinking it over.

Akimatsu Reizo Reizo had been too distracted to notice that the Gehaka's wrists were not quite bare. When he saw the small action, the Haka merely sniffed. Well. He'd let the man's husband deal with him. "Is this your profession?" He gestured towards the carving. It was quite good, and although his family already had a carver that they went to for the woodblocks that his arthe required... "My mother is sir, and he has told me often that is where I get my little talent." Keeping his eyes on the ground, his fingers itched to complete the wood work. They always did, but he didn't move. He just had a good feeling, that it wouldn't be in his best interest to at the moment. "I merely make things for Haka interested in giving little things to their children." He breathed slowly.

Hachiro saw how Shinku's expression changed, only feeling his like for the Haka grow. He was proud of his brother and father, even if they were Gehaka and technically his inferiors. That was something that Hachiro could respect--seeing as he was considered inferior. "That must be a very useful trade." He murmured softly, knowing how difficult forgery could be.
"I was taught the alphabet at a small age, but never the writing that went along with them." Hachiro smiled briefly at the memories that came with that particular statement. He had enjoyed learning, as a child. Noticing Shinku's sudden silence, the Gehaka glanced at him from the corner of his eye, slowly turning his head. "Is something the matter...?" He asked gently.

Shinku long hazel lashes flickered; he shook his head breaking out of his daze. "I, I was just thinking. Nothing is wrong." He glanced back to make sure his retainer was following behind him. "I got lost in my thoughts, what did you ask?" He questioned somewhat embaressed.
He looked up at the Gehaka, taking in his inky black soft looking hair, his broad tall built, and cool water eyes. He would have to make sure about his desicion.

A look of concern had entered the Gehaka's eyes, slowing his pace slightly when Shinku did not respond right away. A soft sigh escaped his lips when the Haka finally seemed to snap out of whatever trance he had been in, slowly looking up at him with those delicate china features. With his gorgeous, silky locks framing his face, the Haka was quite stunning to look at when one had been hidden from such beauty for so long.
"Nothing important, Shinku-san." Hachiro said quietly, keeping his eyes fixed on the other's brilliant ones. "I was simply making sure that everything was all right for you."

"I see." Reizo's glance returned once more to the carving. It was quite good, and that this Gehaka had chosen to carve him..."But the face isn't done." He actually wondered how it would turn out. He tilted his head to one side.

"I'm fine. How old are you Hachiro?" He questioned, motioning for the older Gehaka samuri to join them. His faced colored slightly at the other concern. His left hand curled slightly wishing for the familiar feel of the Tessen. He could hide the heat rushing in his cheeks with the fan.

"No sir..." Taini was a bit shocked," I...will finish it if you wish lord." His ears were perked. He couldn't believe the Haka was actualy commenting on his carving!

"Mm?" Hachiro blinked once at the question, but did not hesitate to answer it. "I am eighteen, Shinku-san." It had been his birthday a few months ago, actually. He didn't ask Shinku's age in turn; that would simply be rude, and the Gehaka knew where his limits were. But he was curious as to what sparked the question. Ah well; if Shinku-san felt the need, he would either tell him or not. The marvelous display of color in his cheeks though was certainly noted, and Hachiro could only wonder what had caused it.

Reizo happened to be the interesting mix between, well...a Haka and an artist. He shrugged, still affecting vague boredom. "Do what you wish." He wondered if it would make the Gehaka antsy if he watched him finish. He wouldn't care, under normal circumstances, if Taini was uncomfortable, but...this was artistry, no? He knew HE wouldn't be comfortable at times with someone watching his work.
