updating the entire messaging system is gonna be tough, but we will try to bring more current forum features to the guild system.

Is the VIP Convention Club completely dead/abandoned at this point, or is there a chance for someone else to pick it back up? surprised
I... Totally forgot this guild was a thing. sweatdrop I can't imagine we'd be doing anything with it anytime soon, unfortunately. The people who were in charge of it don't work here anymore.
Features: Are there still plans to update Guilds? I've been told before that it would happen, but i think it's been two years now or something. It feels like forever ago.
Sorry Guilds is still on the waiting list. We're gonna migrate the whole system to use the new forum backend once we're ready.

Although the guilds know that the staff is busy with fixing the bugs after the migration, we still have the BBCode missing. Is the problem even on the fix list of the staff or are we just going without? Even a recognition of there being a problem would be nice. We're not looking for an exact time and date for it to be fixed, just to know that the problem is recognized and will eventually be fixed.
Sorry the issue should be fixed sometime this week.
features: guilds any new features coming to guilds now that there are new servers? might be nice to add something somewhere idk where just wondering thats all
For the immediate future there will be image upload features for guilds.

Guilds. Any future plans to restructure guilds? It's been neglected and dry there for years. It could really use a face lift. Possibly after the working of the Gaia mobile app perhaps? Just thought I ask!
We do have quite a few things to work on first, from additional mobile features, to adding more HTML5 games. Guilds do have to wait for a while.
I posted this in bugs subforum already but was hoping to get some eyes on it through ATS.
Could someone look into guilds and that fact that moving threads between subforums appears to make those threads accessible to only guild members? I did a reorg on the guild not realizing there was such a bug and now a number of guide threads can not be seen by those outside of the guild even though they are in public subforums, they get a permission error.
We will work on the guild permission error later this week.

I know the payments page has held you hostage but is there a chance you could look into the guild permissions error?
It is still not possible for people who are not part of a guild to look at threads which have moved subforums even if the guild is public. There are several guilds which host various kinds of guides and this makes those guides inusable as not everyone wants to join yet another guild

When using the search bar links to navigate to a guild, for instance the Gaia Tools guild. The URL is

Yes, with a second M on the TLD. Thus making the URL invalid. Please fix.
This has been an issue since you reverted the header from when Ruce made that other header that didn't pan out.
Please clarify which link you used to receive the malformed URL. Typically searching with keywords results in a listing of various guilds, in which the link for the thumbnail or the guild name will navigate you to the corresponding guild, but it sounds like you're referring to something else?
It's when you click an auto-completed link for any guild, for instance the SCAS guild or the Gaia Tools guild.
Oh it's the autocomplete script. Okay I'll see what Ruce added during that time.

Hello, I hate to be a bother. Has the dev team had a chance to look into the guild issue with non-member permissions? Or, at least, I hope it's still on the list as something to look into

Feature Change Gaia has long since used BBCode. BBCode is relatively archaic on the internet now. Would you be willing to migrate from BBCode to markdown? Especially given that you’re using TinyMCE for the mobile app, but the converting the WYSIWYG HTML to BBCode (and then back to desired HTML?). Markdown examples with TinyMCE https://www.tiny.cloud/docs/plugins/textpattern/
 This comes to mind often when I want to use the CODE tag, but inline. There’s no inline, but there’s also no syntax highlighting (JS, PHP, Python, Java, etc).
Obviously this would be a fairly big project since many areas that accept user content allows for BBCode. So I’m not saying it should be the next big project, but maybe sometime this year? 3nodding
I've been looking at Markdown a lot, and I like the simplified syntax more than the lengthy bbcode. I can implement a backend that can decode both types of markdowns, hopefully it won't be too much of a burden on the servers.

features: guilds how does ignore work in guilds, so if you or a crew member has someone who is on ignore can they still join your guild. or is that blocked? if blocked is that guild permanently off limits to ignored people. or can they still join? some info on ignore and what happens in guilds would be helpful
I have not worked on the ignore list in Guilds for quite some time, I will look into it later and PM you once I figured it out.
Greetings and Salutations! I know your busy with other high priorities but checking in on the guilds bug I noted here with moved threads no longer being publicly viewable. It's confirmed to be happening in other guilds there just aren't that many that have mass moved threads. It, unfortunately, leaves half of our guides and projects broken.

features: forums a couple of weeks ago the issue was brought up where users cannot go to specific post only the top of the page 2 weeks later its still broken, when will the issue be fixed or addressed? its irritating many users they cant go to the direct post in forums or guilds

Any news on when anchor posts are going to be fixed? Directly linking posts has been broken for a long while now, throughout many features on the site. I've tested between many different browsers, on both mobile and desktop, and between browsers with extensions and with vanilla browsers, and it's broken on all of them.
I'm sorry that its not working for you. As soon as I hear about the issue I try your anchor link (https://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/gaia-community-discussion/ask-the-staff-07-may-2019/t.106172016_49/#49) and had no problem. Please check your browser's console log and see if there might be errors causing the anchor to not work, and post here or PM me if you see any errors. I'd like to find out what is causing problem for you.
Guild join request process had been adjusted so that if the requested user is blocked by any crew member, the request will be denied.

Okay, there's some kind of bug in Guilds right now where if you edit the first post of a stickied thread/announcement thread, it will remove the status of that thread and revert it to normal without being able to return it to its previous status. Meanwhile you can't make a stickied thread/announcement thread at all because of the same bug. I know it was mentioned in last night's ATS, but the question was skipped over and any time guilds are brought up, it seems like they're actively ignored. Can someone please fix this?
Looks like one bug fixed caused another issue to appear. We will work on this issue this week.
