I know that we ask a lot about Fishing, because we care about the game dearly. Can we at least have a small update to give us hope? I keep seeing so much negativity about the future of the game- people are starting to think that you're just going to remove the game for good. Please prove them wrong and give us something to go by- it's been 7 months. We support the staff greatly and understand how busy you are. Even if it's just to let us know the game is staying and there are no plans to take it down, will you give us some small bit of news? We've tried to be patient all this time. It's my New Year's Resolution to continue supporting the game- please let us know if there is something we can do to further encourage you all to bring the game back. I'm sorry to say that we just do not have an update to give you all about fishing. That's not to say the game has been forgotten, we just don't have anything to update everyone about regarding its status. When we have an update, we will make a staff notice about it. Until a staff notice goes out about it, we won't have anything to really update everyone with. I know that it must be frustrating because it is a loved game, but again, rest assured that we have not forgotten about it and that we know how integral the game is to various other features on the site.

But yes, we do know that people miss it and want it back. We see the posts, we get the PMs, we see the threads. We know it's something that is desired. Unfortunately the issue isn't as simple as "just changing a CAPTCHA." If it were, we certainly would have fixed it because that would be a quick fix. We're keeping the community in mind and it is something we would like to address sometime in the future.

As we have stated, when there is an update that is of use to the community, we will post it in a staff notice so that the community is aware of a change. Until that time, we will not have anything that we're ready to announce to the community and continuing to ask these same questions will either warrant no reply because we have addressed it, or a reiterating of our current stance on the subject.

I noticed that the April 2015 winners of fishing have already gotten their trophies. What about the May 2015 winners? That month was the time that fishing went down. I've previously asked in the ATS if we were still going to get trophies even if we only played for half a month, and the answer was yes. However, almost a year later, we still haven't got it. When can those be granted? Or because it was tied to the time fishing went down, it has become more complicated?
It doesn't look like we'll be able to grant out the May 2015 trophies. We'll still see what we can do, but it's looking doubtful that we'll be able to. Sorry!

We've been told in the past that when questions go unanswered, it is because the appropriate staff member is not available to answer the question. Who should we direct our fishing questions to?
Other reasons questions may not be answered is because we have already addressed the question, or we have no update for it, or we don't have an answered prepared.
In this case, it is the former.
One of our fears in the Fishing community is being forgotten about. Can someone let us know every few weeks what the status is, even if there hasn't been a change?
There is normally an update about every few weeks when ATS gets hit with a bunch of Fishing questions and we reiterate that we have no update at the moment that we can post to the community and that when we have said update we will make a staff notice. It's not being forgotten about. We know Gaians want it. We know it's something that is incredible desired.

I was vaguely aware of the actual bug itself, but I'm also not the person who primarily deals with keeping track of bug reporting. I was testing some things and wanted to ensure that the problems I was having were either existing problems (as I was having a hard time recalling if they were) or new problems that had occurred. It's not unreasonable to expect that people can remember every single bug with every single feature. So instead of being a troll and deciding that you want to look "cool" and "edgy" by making inappropriate and offensive comments, you could be someone who can help by either giving me more information about any other existing problems with the game, or just not say anything and not drag down the community that is trying to hard to push for the game to be fixed.
In short, don't be that guy.

We have somebody actively working on this. As soon as it's fixed we'll definitely update you. Unfortunately, I can't really give you a time estimate. It could be incredibly soon. Or the fix we're working on could fail and we'll have to go back to the drawing board.

What is Gaia's current stance on using resources from obsolete features? There are tons of potential items from zOMG and HoC for example. Will they ever make an appearance? Or would they have to go through a rebranding?

Heralds of Chaos is still accessible, it just isn't supported, so if something breaks it won't be fixed.
Question: Will there ever be/ a way us members of the fishing community can say, make a ticket towards making an item in game? Like how you can prtty much make a kindred, but say we want to make a fishing rod accessible only viacatching a certain amount of fish, we take care of the details, but let their be another option for a rod? Maybe a ticket that effects in game such we can buy? Or a poll for updated fishing that allows some of the users involvement? Thanks!

Does any of the staff know what the original track names were for the zOMG soundtrack which was then repurposed for the MoGa soundtrack?
I believe it was all reused, you can listen to it on Spotify or get it off of Amazon.
I know it's a long shot, but could we possibly get a formula to make an Alchemy useable only Diamondback using the Aquarium fish from the Aquarium rig to not only allow people to actually complete their backwings sometime this century but also give those fish some value again. Hell, make the requirements the same as it would be for the Fish trade, 1k of a fish but make it something like 10 different fish so it's not too easy but also not impossible.
Are you talking about the Fish Market CI, or plain old Aquarium fish? If the former, unfortunately not as there is no way to differentiate those two items. If the latter, it's possibly something we can discuss for the future, but no guarantees we'd move forward with it.

Now that the fishing captcha has temporarily been resolved, I would like to ask if the developer who is working on the game, would consider putting in an achievement grant for a Demonic Rod (grant based on an in-game statistic // amount of fish/junk etc. // Times in specific Lakes etc.) designed/coded in the manner similar to the Angelic Rod.
Comment 1: Personally I would like to see the rod with characteristic similar to the Hellfish of Durem, with Glossy Black Rod Shaft and Hellfish fin; instead of wings (colored in manner of the Ecomane, Ethomane or/and Firemane)
Primary difference will be the added "depth" descriptive which is not applied to the other rods. It has been/is/ also suggested that the Demonic Rod would, if grant be on the amount of fish/junk caught, that the required amount would be around 200k to 350k caught ( these number would also reflect the consideration of the upgrade) Thank You for your consideration.

It was also suggested(during an in game room texting) that to appease our fishers who are looking for an added Fish Area.. that if Additional Achievement Rods are Granted ( hopefully a Demonic Rod, then maybe Kiki and Grunny Rods) with the "depth" descriptive being coded, that the activating of any Achievement Rods with the depth function, will access another level of the fishing areas that we are now accessing. ( that is, Deep Sea Fish types could be Rarely available would also satisfy the need to have a Rare fish for the current new fish that were last coded into the game) if not, then be coded as regular availability i.e. *no rare attributes attached* to the new deep sea types.

Unfortunately we probably won't be able to provide anything in the way of actual updates to the Fishing game for quite a while, if at all, as the game's code is very old and Flash doesn't actually support the code it is written in anymore. Updates would have to come in the form of us rewriting the entire game.
