June 14th, 2016: Zero Omega Twisted Lady Features-AtSOn weeks where AtS is cancelled, does anyone read through the pre-event threads for the bum weeks, or just the current one? We actually keep it to one thread for the missing weeks so we can go through the week(s) that we missed. Zero Omega 2sammygate misccan you add an 8th rule to AtS telling people not to ask zOMG questions with links to the relevant threads? it's either "where is zOMG" or "bring back zOMG NOW" and it's just ugh... Mmm... We actually have an idea of how we can address this.

June 28th, 2016: excitable sloth houjun-san Misc Are the staffs beside each other when doing this ask the staff? Yep! We're all in a meeting room. c; excitable sloth waterkat33 MiscHow does the pre event question stuff even work? because I often feel like I'm not going to be heard if I ask in the pre event? I wish you guys would respond in the pre event thread so that I knew questions are heard. Also you seem to respond more to "questions" that are basically nothing more than ILU and less to actual questions raised. Which is understandable, but frustrating. The proportions to which we answer these questions has been addressed in the past. We answer far more actual questions than these other 'comments.' There are some questions that we simply can't answer, or the person can answer isn't there that day.

August 2nd, 2016: excitable sloth xx I met my fate xx excitable sloth xx I met my fate xx Misc: Project custom quartz stubI submitted my stub email (though I've not gotten a reply) and I was wondering if it is possible to request that certain artists work on the item or rather certain artists NOT be the one to work on it? There is an artist who dislikes me and I have fear (with good reason) that they would purposefully do a poor job on my item. I can guarantee that every artist that is assigned to any project custom ticket will go about their project with completely unbiased behavior. Anything that an artist does for project customs is approved by the managers of project customs, so there would be no room for an artist to slight any community member, but none of our artists would do that anyway. I would argue otherwise in this case. This particular artist has shown similar behaviour before and has harassed me in the form of tipping every single post I make that mentions them even slightly. Their behaviour towards me in the past has been nothing short of unprofessional and I'm not the only person to whom they have behaved in this manner. If there is harassment on the forums, then you can address it the way you would address any harassment on the forums: report it. Our artists are all incredibly professional in going about their projects. And if they are not it is handled by their manager.

August 9th, 2016: excitable sloth Nyota_Spock Another Ask the Staff, another ignored question emotion_facepalm Which question are you referring to? About the Joker and Harley items? Because I can never answer yes or no specifically to questions relating to items/color choices for items. Zero Omega Nenanah Misc Since we have a thread for those inquiring to join the mod team and a thread about being a forum assistant can we also have one for those who might be interested in joining SCAS or whatever it was called? We have an e-mail for that, apply4beta@gaiaonline.com Zero Omega Nyota_Spock Another Ask the Staff, another ignored question emotion_facepalm waterkat33 Nyota_Spock Another Ask the Staff, another ignored question emotion_facepalm Ask the Staff? More like "actual questions get ignored by staff". I'll address this, as you seem to have ignored the fact that we're also answering a lot of other questions from other users. Let's break down today so far: Arlette has answered two questions regarding our LQIs and exclusive items. I've answered 30 questions, ranging from questions about bans, trade disables, events, features, and more Sloth has answered 27 questions, ranging from Kindred, bugs, features, making sure users feel welcome in ATS, and more. A total of 59 questions have been addressed in ATS this week (and maybe more, as some of us will occasionally stick around to answer additional questions after the fact). So to say "actual questions get ignored by staff" is baseless and incorrect. Define "actual question." What are they? "Hard hitting questions!?" We've addressed things such as LQI and exclusive policies, something that is very important. We've addressed trade disables, something that has plagued a number of users for a couple of weeks now. We've addressed bugs and Kindred, two prominent things on the site. Anything asked in Ask the Staff is equally important as it's a way for users to come to staff and interact with them. We take an hour out of our day that could be spent either fixing account issues, creating art, events, developing or improving features, in order to provide some time for the community to get to know us better and get their questions answered. We can't get to every question, for many reasons, maybe we don't know the answer, maybe the staff handling ATS this week isn't qualified to answer (you wouldn't want a developer to answer an art related question), maybe we've already answered the question in the past and don't want to spend time re-answering the question when we could be addressing someone else, maybe the question wasn't formatted, or maybe we just do not want to answer the question because we don't feel like we need to give a response to it. Do you go onto Reddit AMAs and say that the AMA should be called, "Get ignored by someone because they won't answer my question?" No. You go into it understanding that you may not get a reply to your question, but you give it a shot because if you don't try, then you'll never know. Let's take a look at the two questions that were asked by the two of you: waterkat33 items / GamesCan the Charge Orbs either have some USEABLE purpose again, or else be removed as an LK prize. I know that they're useable in alchemy but they also come out of the zOMG caches so you don't need to force them down my throat instead of a useful prize for a battle. We've answered this question, you even give part of the answer to the question in your question. They're usable in Alchemy, then we need to have a way to supply this item into the ecosystem so that it can be utilized for Alchemy. Yes, there is the zOMG cache, but there is also another avenue in Lake Kindred for users who do not want to gamble with zOMG caches. So no, we currently have no plans to remove Charge Orbs from Lake Kindred as they have a purpose in the game and who knows if we might utilize them again in the future for something else. It's been a question that we have answered, and as a result, we didn't answer it in this week's ATS so we could address other questions. Nyota_Spock Items Can you please make a new Spacefleet wigs item for the reboot Star Trek 2009 characters; we have one for TOS and TNG it's only fitting, and I can finally complete my set. Items Ayer-verse Joker and Harley Quinn items please! We do not answer things regarding item suggestions, this is made clear in rule 7 of ATS here We may tip your post, we may reply thanking you for the suggestion, but in general we do not answer questions regarding item requests because we cannot guarantee that the items will be made. Maybe we'll take the suggestion into consideration, or maybe we'll never do the item at all. Item requests are one of the most asked questions in ATS and typically end up drowning out other questions, so as a result, we don't answer them so we can spend our time getting to other users. If you read the rules of ATS, you would have seen why your question was not answered. I want to make it absolutely clear that we do our best to get to every question that we can. We will never be able to address every question, nor will we permanently extend the time for ATS past an hour as we need to be able to also address other things on the site and do the rest of our jobs. If your question wasn't answered, it isn't because we hate you, it isn't because we want to purposely ignore you, however ATS certainly is not a place where we ignore every question asked of us and ignore "hard hitting" questions. To say so is absolutely wrong and completely uncalled for. So the next time you come to ATS, think about your question, think if it's been asked before, check to see if it's been previously answered, see if the type of question is one that we won't be able to answer by reading the rules, and review why we may not be able to answer all questions before suggesting that we rename it to, "Ignore the Questions."

August 16th, 2016: [NPC] Gaia Staff Welcome Back! Quote: FeaturesAny chance we could ever get like a 5-10 minute video or even a little journal/blog about "Behind the Scenes of Project Tickets" and show the process on your end? I'm sure it would shed more light for individuals new to Project Tickets, and even others who just want to know why it "takes so long" for the item making process. I know that you keep your current projects confidential, but maybe go over past items? I know I would be okay with say my Platinum Ticket being used as an example and such. You could always ask other past submissions as well, or even ask some new subs. We're not sure if this is something we can do, but we'll certainly take it into consideration. excitable sloth kokubourou features // project customthis was brought up in the project thread last week, but with the project team so backed up right right now, it might be a good idea to set up an automatic response when people send in project orders, so people aren't left wondering if their email got received i don't know if it's as bad when it's not so backed up, but i thought it was a good idea While this is something that could be handy, I can see how it could cause a lot of confusion.

August 23rd, 2016: excitable sloth dissonances StaffThank you for hosting this each week. It's fun to come in here and chatter about Gaia like this. It'd be really cool to see you guys poke about in the forums more often, too. emotion_kirakira A lot of us like being able to chatter with you guys on this level, and I think it'd be great for the community to see you guys around more! I try to poke around every so often. ;3; I have been incredibly busy lately so I haven't been able to. But I will try more often. Zero Omega adorabah OH!! Event..? November 1st, 2016: excitable sloth Magnifique_un Tickets Question: Will gaia ever create a system where users can keep track of their ticket submission progress? I know that recently you guys set up a sort of "confirmation email" that stated you guys received our ticket email submissions, but that's just not enough. Everyone, including myself would like to see some changes, and I feel maybe creating a way for users to check on the progress of their recolor/item/ticket would be great for everyone. This would resolve the issue of users resending emails (bc they never received a confirmation email or felt gaia never received it in the first place) and would resolve the issue of users constantly emailing to check the status of their submission. I think gaia should really do something about this, please and thank you! heart We are working on implementing some changes at the moment, but the reality of the situation is that the emails that you receive are the closest thing to updates we can give. We cannot offer more than the approval of your ticket, your mocks, and then your finished item. It should be said though, that not many emails get lost or not sent, even if they do not receive the confirmation email. There have only been about less than a dozen that have not been received, so it is not a common issue.

December 9th, 2016: Artist and be blue IfYouAreNotClickHere Artist and be blue IfYouAreNotClickHere Is the Avatar Item Glitch Thread still monitored? Heavily. Personally, I go through it and resolve any recolor bugs, whenever I have the time. But keep in mind there are a lot of artists not still with us, and it gets complicated to adjust their items~ Ok, in that case, how long should I go before I can repost? I've posted (on another account) twice within the past several years (I lost count of how many...) and still haven't been acknowledged. You can post every few months -- but again, if the item was created by an artist who's not around anymore, you're not going to get much response. We each reply to bugs on our own items, aside from some people who have enough experience to venture into other peoples items, and me, who pretty much only steps in to deal with problems that arise during the recolor process~ Artist and be blue Narishia somtetimes due to the artist not being with gaia anymore is it a case of "s**t i dont know how to update this/what part would need to be updated?" or more of a "dang, dont know if they did this for a reason, better not mess with it" Me, personally? I look at it and go HOLY CRAP I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT'S GOING ON WITH ANY OF THIS. Again, I mostly do recolors, so my item experience is p r e t t y l o w. But sometimes other artists look and are afraid to change because it would also change things people LIKE about the item. Take the vampire base faces for a perfect example -- I was a vampire for like ... 9 years, until VERY recently. The eyes/mouth drove me c r a z y. I wished items would remove them properly somehow so they wouldn't creep in there and mess up face mods. But many other users love the weird faces on vampires, and use them to make strange, new combinations. Is it really fair for us to "fix" the eyes/mouth, if then it breaks what users have been doing for the better part of a decade on that item...? excitable sloth Arowan emotion_kirakira Will we have more Ask the Artists? Can this become weekly / biweekly / regular in some way? emotion_kirakira YESSS. We may not have a planned schedule but we will try to do more events/forum activities like this! <3 Neko brcien Is there a place to request/suggest items? December 20th, 2016: lanzer Hello Gaians! A few of our staff members are already on vacation so we're hosting a mini ATS session today. We are a little short handed so answers will be more sparse than usual. Let's sit back, relax, and get this ATS started!!! A few little updates on my end: - Still taking all my time talking to all staff members and reading through Site Feedback. Getting a good idea on what are the biggest issues to tackle starting 2017 [...] This will be the last ATS of the year, next week we'll be with our family and loved ones (for me that'll be Strider and Waffles). Happy Holidays and Happy New Year! See you all in 2017! lanzer lilloulou Features / Event:Did you bug the ats thread? There's no link to your answers tonight wink Sorry today is the "mini" version as many staff members are gone for vacation, including the one who help create those links. Sorry! sweatdrop lanzer basselope7 I didn't see a staff alert about this, glad to see there is something happening smile Just one quick question! [ insert question that had already been answered a couple times tonight] Whoops! Yeah usually a staff member handle the alert. Hope you all enjoy a more intimate ATS event. blaugh lanzer Thank you everyone for joining us on this little ATS event. Have yourselves a great Christmas and New Year, enjoy the Christmas event, and we'll see you all on Tuesday, January 3rd!

January 3rd, 2017: lanzer Sagebomb First of all thats for addressing the issue of being allowed to mention staff names, nicknames and other non personally identifying info. heart [ Context: during Gaia's Corporate phase, the CEO grew tired enough of user complaints directed at his unsavory business practices that he changed the Terms of Service to make it a violation to so much as name any Staff member in a post. Lanzer, posting in the Site Feedback forum, recently declared that he was removing that clause. -Platonix] You mentioned recently about levels of control you had to hand over as investors selected CEOs, who had thier own styles and ideas. (Which had definitely been noticeable over the past decade). In mentioning this, does that mean that you have been able to settle investments and now have full control again like prior to 2005? Or is there still certain levels of investor interest/control to meet? If this is a sensitive question you cant address thats cool, and I understand. I find myself refreshing the GCD waiting for ATA again, its awesome knowing that communication has become a lot more open and community focused again heart To simply things, today Gaia does have investors who helped us take the company back. However, those investors are very different than the ones we dealt with. They rather Gaia achieve success through me (with the help of CP, L0cke, and staff members) running the show instead of forcing a CEO hired from somewhere else. They do ask for one thing - and that is for us to grow the company. Like anybody who would invest in anything. Of course, now that I'm in control doesn't mean everything is wonderful. I still need to proof to all Gaians that in fact we can deliver on our promises to bring fun and creativity back to Gaia! Only time will tell! eek lanzer Neshira Namea Returns Announcement spam issuesSo...I know you guys are looking into lots of options for the announcement...er...issues. Are we going to get a survey or a suggestion thread to throw our input in? I'm all for surveys for almost every change because I want changes that are going to be positive for as many users as possible. I wanted to put together a survey money, maybe I'll just start with a thread on Site Feedback. confused

Question If I wanted to make a suggestion/Idea for an item or something here on gaia, who would I go to about that sort of thing? If I wanted a genuine direct response, not an automated one that is. Thank you~ heart Anywhere really, we do take a lot of suggestions to heart. A lot of the replies that seem "automated" are genuine, just a lot of the time we can't make a promise to do something until we can properly research and vet the idea.

January 17th, 2017: lanzer Kazuma Ishimaru Feature: Hiya, loving most of the quality of life changes going on. But one thing has bugged me... Recently you guys changed the Announcements to link to direct news topics instead of the general one from before. I was wondering what the reasoning behind this was? The current new version does not allow for rapid-fire news after a build-up of the queue. IE: One can't open a bunch of different announcement tabs off of a single link without it just all being the same topic now. In any case, I'd just like to hear what brought about the change. It's understandable if the rapid-clicking is what you wanted to discourage. Before the announcement update goes live, the sales team is trying to move to a digest format is what we've been experimenting. It's all part of the effort to eventually have no announcement spam on the site. lanzer houjun-san Events Are we going to have free items for ATS like the one in ATA? smile No, you wouldn't want any items made by me. smile The best thing I ever drew were these two eomtes: gonk scream
