Try as he might, Lophorinth couldn't seem to close that gap between himself and the crimson. His attempts to woo her had gone without notice and all she did was tease. He loved her a little for it, but also was ready for her to make her choice.

Blue Magith
He was so close. So close, but the winds were not favoring him at the moment. He was trying, using all of his energy to chase the lovely crimson. The others were flying well also, and whoever caught her was certainly worthy of doing so.

He was huffing and puffing now. No matter how hard he tried to go faster he didn't seem to be getting anywhere! Ititth gave a small bellow of frustration. He couldn't be that out of shape could he? The brown sent an angry hiss at his rider who was laughing. He'd show him, and her, and everyone! Once more the brown tried to put on a burst of speed.

Capuleth was tiring fast, if the flight didn't end soon he was going to have to drop out. Gathering the last of his strength the blue surged forward, passing several of his rivals and letting out a high sweet call. He was close to Mirath now, nearly close enough to touch but rather than reaching for her he used his momentum to orbit her just beyond the span of her wings.

Mirath saw the males were inching closer, ever so slowly. But eventually one put on a final burst of speed and grew rapidly closer. Finally someone was able to catch up with her! And one of the blues, no less. Blues almost never got to catch a clutching female, so she had been hoping one of them would make it. She cast a regretful look at the other suitors - she hated to leave them with nothing after all their efforts, but only one could win - before turning to the circling blue. She crooned at Capuleth and told him, No need to merely orbit any longer, Capuleth. Come fly with me, and as Rukbat retires for the evening, so shall we.
