The meeting had been in the starting throes when Liryn finally managed to slip into the canteen, padding into the canteen in his cat form and winding his way amongst feet in an attempt to find a spot where he could both see as well as hear the goings on. He hadn't really been successful in the former - even though he wasn't even near being the last to turn up, there were already several people there and the canteen was quickly filling up as more and more people slipped in and found spaces - he had however managed to snag himself a spot on an empty chair that at least afforded him a glimpse of more than the feet that had been in sight range from the floor.

He had listened in to the different conversations in uncharacteristic silence, whilst doing his best to aura block, however his mind wasn't on the discussions - no it was on the fact that his former team was here, was in the same place in practically forever and ever.

There was Ida, in Princess form as she had been in the meeting she had held not that long prior and Tsui - who he'd recognise anywhere despite the fact the years did not seem to have kind, although the years hadn't been kind to any of them - not since the Negaverse took over.

And then there was Athene, to complete the founding three, three members out of four of the team that he had failed.

There was talk of fleeing and talk of standing and fighting but Liryn didn't contribute - after all his choice had long been already made. He would fight and would do so as hard as possible and whilst he couldn't promise that he'd kill he would put his best paw forward in the fight that he knew was to come.

Not today, and maybe not tomorrow, maybe not even a week from now - but it would definitely come - Liryn was sure of it.

It was a mauvian's duty to protect and it was one that he had always taken very seriously.

He had failed the PSSG, which had broken and fallen apart, had failed Athene. He wouldn't fail a third time.

If this was to end up his last stand then so be it - when the fight came Liryn would be ready.

Briar Mackenzie (aka Super Sailor Oort) was one of those who on arriving at the canteen had lingered about the periphery still after all these years prefering his own company over that of the group. That preference hadn't stopped him from coming though – this meeting was too important for him not to.

He hated the Negaverse – they had taken his family in an attempt to get to him — taken his father, his mother and his beloved big brother. Their 'official' status was unknown but Briar knew the truth, knew that they were gone — he had seen too many dissappear over the years in similar ways over the years, occasionally they had reappeared but mostly not. On the occasions where they they had resurfaced however, they had resurfaced dead.

It was why he fought the Negaverse wanting to stick it to as many of the basterds as he could.

He hadn't thought about the consequences, thought about the fact that he was on a path which (if nothing changed) would eventually lead to his death and whilst death had touched his life and had taken others it wasn't something that Briar had really thought about as happening to him.

He still didn't, even as he marched over to join those who wouldn't run, those who planned to stay and fight.

He was Briar Mackenzie, who was also Super Sailor Oort and if the coming fight meant that he could stick it to the Negaverse that had taken away so much, so much of those he cared for then fight he would — as Oort he would fight the good fight for revenge.

When Camelot spoke, Scylla examined him critically before giving a small nod and a quirk of the lips in his direction. As a Knight of Earth, he truly belonged here more than any of them. As such it was both right and responsibility to help band these ragtag defenders. And as he was a higher-ranking party here, it would allow for firm leadership who people may respect- by rank alone. And his head seemed to be calm. He was older, but that seemed to be the case of several of the Knights she was noticing- not that it was a problem.

Scylla laughed at Shalott, not maliciously, but wryly. "You're right. Everyone is allowed to make their own decisions." Shalott was winning the vote for team mom, and Scylla idly wondered if she gave out hugs too, because Scylla had never been this terrified in her life, even when she had been about to die. Battle was one thing, when life and death wasn't a choice anymore, but a reality. This was sitting here, determining to fight for something, and having people you trusted tell you that you were wrong. But Jada was used to being wrong, and used to being selfish, and so she sucked in a deep breath and tilted her chin. "Lead by example. Alright then." She stepped over to the slowly growing group of people willing to fight.

When Andromache had died, all those centuries before, she had gone into battle knowing she was with child, knowing she was weakened, and knowing that without her, no one on her planet stood a chance. She had fought for her children, and the women she loved, and the men she loved; She had fought for her son (Solon, prancing through the snow, laughing at her as she sat bundled up in furs), sent far away from her world for his own protection. She had fought because there was no place to run, and no one had come to help her. She had died alone, gasping, surrounded by enemies, all her friends far away. When she died, her only thoughts had been of the loved ones she had failed.

Watching Pollux send his children away with Castor was a bitter reminder of her many failures. She didn't want to fail again. She might not have children of her own, however much she would have given up for them, but she still had her siblings- Lucas, Zora, Aidan, Giulia. Her father was another failure to add to the list- a galvanizing loss. Just like Castor's final curse. "You can't change anything if you don't try. I have to try." In the world that would be coming, left unchecked, Jada Chamberlyn would be gone. A pretty face, good career, and money in the bank wouldn't save her from a hand in the chest, flooding her with corruption- or ripping out her starseed and crushing it, ending Scylla forever.

She tilted her chin up. The time for self-pity was over. Her decision was in stone. She could be a group leader, she could follow, she could work alone- it didn't matter, so long as she wasn't hiding anymore. "I could lead a small team, but I am sure others would be more comfortable led by more familiar faces. I'm also not afraid to work with any Negaverse sympathizers, if that's the path taken. My civilian identity hasn't been compromised, and could be very beneficial. Put me where you think I could make the biggest difference in this fight." The words were directed to Camelot, but could carry over to any others stepping up to the plate as well.

There were it seemed quite a few who were willing to fight Falias noted as, at the Royal Knight's gesture, he stepped up to stand closer to Shalott.

"I think my civilian identity remains uncompromised too" he said, after a dark-haired eternal senshi had finished speaking. It was hard to be certain, especially given the rumours that he had heard flying recently, however Falias thought that by now that the Negaverse would have already been on his doorstep if they had made the link between fruit, veg and occasionally bread seller Marlin and transcended Earth Knight Falias.

No his Marlin identity was safe for the moment — at least as safe as any of them could be.

"My magic however won't be of any use in battle" he continued, wondering as he did so what his ancestor would think of the choice he was making. The magic of Falias had never been meant war, instead it was meant for maintaining the honour in the truce because peace was just as important as war. Falias would not let her magic be subverted — not even for her Knight.

Peace and the right to live peacefully was but a distant dream at the moment, would be so as long as things remained this way and although he could not rely on magic, Falias knew there were other ways to fight — and he would use them.

Alexandria had, surprisingly, shown up. What wasn't surprising was the fact he wasn't really hearing anything. It was going in one ear and out the other. He was so tired of this damn war it wasn't even funny anymore. He'd seen Chris and Paris. That was all he needed. Fingers twitched as he tried to pay attention. This was important right?

Guine
Your idiots here.

Fang shifted awkwardly when Lyonesse spoke, instantly looking down to avoid eye contact with anyone. He would have pulled his hand from the Earth Knight if he hadn't been holding it so tight. He didn't like talking (ha) about any of this. He didn't like hearing about any of this, but he knew it was unavoidable.

Songstress Kitsune

Avalon shifted uneasily; none of this talk was actually getting anywhere, as far as she was concerned. All she really wanted was to get set loose on a battlefield and feel blood under her nails--she didn't care how it happened. Only that it did.

Tomlin lurked beneath a canteen chair, listening to the ebb and flow of the discussion as he concentrated on holding up his edge of the dampening field over the gathering. It was too important now for that field to tear. It had happened before, and it still tore his heart with it.

Familiar voices cut through his focus, and raised ones. He wished he was the kind of cat who could help with something like this, build them some kind of device to make their work easier. A purification amplifier? A portable aura dampener? A good-luck charm? Tomlin didn’t have the skills to build a reliable toaster, let alone something complicated enough to swing the tide of battle for them. So he listened, and tried to keep them hidden.

Gigi stood at the back of the room, in civilian form, arms crossed in front of herself against a cold that came more from the conversation than the weather. She felt clean and pampered and awkward among the denizens of the camp, and even though she’d brought in a few supplies with her, she felt she had little to offer. Sailor Subamara probably had cobwebs on her fuku at this point, and the Senshi of Coffee only had a buffing power anyway, not an attack. Still, when the call came to divide up the room, she shuffled herself to the ‘fight’ side. There wasn’t much she could do, but she’d do it with all her heart for as long as she was able.

She wondered if this is how it had ended for her asteroid, somewhere high above them, and whether the people had cried or fought or gone for cake with their friends. Sometimes she wished she’d spent more time investigating, but there was no time now. Her shiny distant homeworld couldn’t offer a place for all these people, so there was no time for it now. If the Negaverse took her, she couldn’t trust in its protection. She had only her modern self, and this moment now. She would have to make it count.

“Um,” she said, leaning out from the crowd and raising her arm, “going after Metallia directly seems like a good plan, but would it be worth targeting the Mayor too? General-King Kenisite? If we want the rest of the civilians to support us, if we could make them see what kind of monster they’ve voted for? Um.”

She didn’t have a ‘how’ for her suggestion. She couldn't really march on City Hall with a placard and expect it to be effective. It had taken all of her logistical skills just to get out of the city to be here tonight. She shrugged, wrapping her arm back around herself and stepped back towards the edge of the gathering.

"And how do you propose we seek Metallia? Shall we just charge them and demand they take us to their leader? How do you know that the second she senses us moving she will not shield herself? The mayor is but a figurehead and mouth piece. If he is removed, he would just as easily be replaced. It is less a matter of how we fight, but how do we get to our main target?"

Pollux addressed those gathered, eyes moving to Scylla before forcing himself to look away.

Ida had watched Castor's outburst with mantled wings, tensed until he left with the children. His anger bothered her, but there was little remedy for it here. If he wouldn't help, then this meeting was not for him anyway. The princess listened to the voices raised, all willing to fight. It was heartening to know that they were not beaten yet, that the forces of Order were still resisting...

"Paris's earlier thought brings up a suggestion, since others support the idea of striking Metallia. What if we used a Trojan Horse approach? We have a few allies among their ranks, others who might know how to approach her. Transcended can't be corrupted by normal means, if one was willing, would she draw it close? If anything could do it, it would be the heart of their power..." She spread her hands, hoping someone might know more of this than she did.

"Perhaps a multifaceted approach is best... Some to attack the source while the bulk of our fighters distract and engage the lower ranks."

It was too easy.

All they'd needed to do was wait.

And now that they'd been patient?

It was time.

What once only a few knew, in the past few hours, every agent of the Negaverse now knew, from the oldest to the newest, the weakest to the strongest—everyone had their target:

The Resistance.

At first, nothing seemed out of place. It was just a meeting between friends, allies. All Order, planning what they could to save themselves and the ones they loved. What they could do to stop the Chaos from growing. What they could do to survive.

But something changed, between one second and the next.

At first, there was only the sudden sensation of dread, followed immediately by a sweeping surge of Chaos—from every side.

The higher-ups of the Negaverse must have been planning this for some time; the sheer power it must have taken to teleport all of those officers to the surrounding edges of the Resistance Camps simultaneously must have taken out a good chunk of the General Kings and Queens Metallia ciphoned her energy through. But better to use a few pawns as conduits for her energy than take a bit of energy from each and every officer.

No, she needed them at their absolute best.

And there, in droves, they stood.

And then, they charged.

The Negaverse has launched an attack on the Resistance's headquarters! From this point on, anyone can play! If you have a Negaverse agent, your orders were to raid the Resistance—capture, kill, do whatever you must, but just make sure you leave a trail of destruction in your path! Dark Mirror Senshi, you can assume to have been invited by anyone you side with! If you want to make a stand, now would be a good time to start!

OOC Rules and Information

  • Everyone may participate! If you are Order, Chaos or something in between, you can now join in!
  • If your character feels like they are on the wrong side, they can fight for the other team! Negas who feel sympathetic for the White Moon are not obligated to fight for the Negaverse—but be warned, anyone caught helping the enemy will be considered a traitor!
  • All shop rules apply. For instance, no godmodding.
  • If your character wasn't at the meeting but still wants to participate, that is okay! A friend can have phoned you for help or something!
  • The Negaverse has been instructed to do as much damage as possible , but please remember to ask for consent before doing something drastic to someone else's character!
  • If you would like to have your character killed, corrupted or captured, this is fine! You may also attempt to defend the Camp or flee. Note: This is not the end of the meta, though we are getting close!
  • Be respectful to one another even if your characters are not.
  • The ambush will remain open until the evening of Wednesday, the 24th!
  • Feel free to direct any questions to the mule or the Meta Q&A!

Please Note: This battle does not give Chaos players the power to Godmode! You are striking a blow at the Resistance and you have orders to detain or kill, but if you do either, you must plot this out!

He wasn't surprised by the arrival. They had after all, been gathered in a mass of energies for quite some time, never mind the fact that the attack was likely planned days if not weeks ago. Pollux had stopped being surprised by what the negaverse could and would do.

White moon was as ever, unprepared.

As he moved away from those arriving he remembered very offhandedly, that his daughter's birthday was next Wednesday.

Maybe if he was lucky, he could still make it to her birthday party.

General Painite was all too happy to follow this order. While she liked to do her own thing, there were the rare moments where her instincts still fell in line with the Negaverse and their leaders. Usually, it came down to blood, and how much of it was being drawn. Being told to attack this pathetic little stronghold was like an early Christmas gift. All the people she hated, gathered into one place, just ripe to be picked off one by one.

She could not think of anything more wonderful.

She wasted no time. She charged in head first, spear in hand, a grin on her face. The anticipation she felt was other worldly, and she could not remember a time when she was so giddy. Honestly happy. Maybe, if she stopped to think about it, it would mean something. That her delight at something so cruel and vicious was important somehow. But this was who she was. She had always wanted to be the villain, and now, with Chaos fueling her, with their tide rising up, threatening to crush the White Moon once and for all, she felt only joy.

Whatever happened today, she would have no guilt.

"Knock knock, Order! Come out to play!"

Behind her, General Merlinite followed, though he was not sure what sort of a role he was going to play in this fight. Everything had gotten so confused and turned upside down for him, but he was doing his best to be loyal and to enjoy his job like he used to. Maybe this fight would be what solidified his allegiance. He could only hope so, anyway, because it kind of sucked not knowing who he was any more.

(Anyone can feel free to interact with Painite! She's ready for some serious fights and to do some damage. Of course, that means she's ready to take some damage, as well! Merlinite too =] )

Camelot turned when he felt the sudden burst of Negaverse energy, his heart sinking. Never had he felt such a surge, such a sudden explosion of raw Chaos. Whatever they had been talking about was meaningless now.

They were here.

"We have to make our stand now! They've come for us! Protect each other!"

He called his massive shield to his hands, holding it up and ready as he moved to stand forward, though there was not much of a line to be drawn. The Negaverse was everywhere, all around them. There was no time to formulate a defense against an assault of this magnitude, that came from all sides.

(Feel free to fight with or against Camelot, too! I'm open to anything!)

How much time had they spent tracing shadows? How many excursions into the night, with naught but a shred of light to guide their searches? Bischofite himself knew not - for over the years, his fervor for the Negaverse and the upheaval it wrought waned toward an emaciated degree. With far too many days wasted on placating the cattle, combing the darkness to avoid upsetting those newly indoctrinated to Negaverse rule, Bischofite lost the taste for following such measures.

He wanted Chaos, and he found far too much order for his liking.

Yet the news broke not long ago of a location, confirmed, a wish too pure for truth. He guarded it as the rest of his peers did, and then bloomed the appointed night. It reminded him of operations lost over the years, of the true meaning of servitude behind Metallia.

And most importantly, it reminded him of how much he reveled in the rancor of war.

The massive spatial shift left he and a veritable force of the Negaverse in the surrounding skirts of a terribly motley and disheveled camp, with a fair grouping of Order signatures toward the canteen area. A smattering of other signatures lay around the vicinity, though he offered little recognition of them.

Instead, he turned to those surrounding him - those indoctrinated by the Negaverse years ago or weeks ago, who now stood alongside one another for a unified threat. Idly he wondered if these agents measured their motivations before battle - if they knew the final product that they so vehemently fought for. Instead, he offered little more than a few words before they fell upon the last dregs of the White Moon.

"We will harvest our own garden of stars tonight. Let no hesitations mitigate your triumph - overpower ze lot of zem, and eradicate ze rest. If I find zat you falter in ze face of your enemy, zen I will bury you in ze ground wis' ze last of our opposition.

"Do not disappoint me. Now, go!" He hissed at last, wings drawing open shortly after. To announce the charge, he himself hollered toward the battlefield, a chorus alone of voices inhuman. From the trees he approached deliberate in pace, allowing those around him to draw focus in forming the first wave against the enemy.

When the time arose, he would embark on his teleportations.

"Sheeit!" Faust called immediately, fur expanding to almost impossible proportions as the Mauvian instinctively swelled up with alarm. With eyes the size of dinner plates, he hunkered against Quenton's form to stare out toward the night. With ample night vision afforded by his feline traits, Faust spotted an unnerving number of soldiers approaching from the surrounding area.

"Quenton! Bust yo' a**, man! Everyone, get in yo' damn costumes and kick some a**!" Unfortunately, the pissing contest that was their last attempt at a game plan offered no legitimate fight scheme, so he settled into his familiars for the attempt to survive.

"Okay, I can act as a decoy like we used to do on Shadow missions. No one can catch a goddamn cat, anyway. I'll jus' piss 'em off, lure 'em around the corner, and you gas 'em out with flowers, yeah? An' if you got a better plan in that head o' yours, lemme know like yesterday!"

Stara laughed. She laughed, and laughed, and laughed, one hand seemingly frozen to her face while her body convulsedi n the effort to slap her knees or straighten up. She hadn't decided which.

Really, she didn't need to.

Leaning on the nearest agent, Stara scrambled desperately to recover from her mirth. "It's like a perfect mouse trap! I can't believe it! The White Moon is the perfect disproval to all of Skinner's behavioral designs! Look at them, still bickering after all these years! Oh..." She sighed, resting the back of her wrist against her forehead in further lean against an increasingly disgruntled agent. Without warning, she sprung off of her former backrest almost immediately, drawing her pair of daggers high overhead in a silent declaration of sheer excitement while she drew out toward the unfolding battlefield.

If her clever luck held, she might just find someone worth capturing.
