Odette rushed to Vremea's side with some water and food rations. She seemed tired and frustrated, and they were getting nowhere fast. She debated eating some of the rations herself, but her bile sack churned at every thought of her mother. Anything she ate would come right back up.
She pinched the bridge of her nose and cried dry tears at the pain in her body. Her head seared in splitting pain and she fell to her side, shuddering. Keep the memories out, keep focused. Remember your friend, she told herself. Fight for what you have left.

Truly, the Colonel was once a mighty warrior bound in eaglesnake form. How else could she unleash such devastation? She caught Kursha gaping. He quickly shut his mouth and looked away. Not before he saw a fountain of blood gush out of a freshly lacerated throat though.

Odette kept pushing forward. She'd fight zombies if she had to! And she might have to if the two of them researched the crypts much longer.

Finally getting himself out of the jam he had been in, his lizard-like father snarled, hissing as it bit into a near by brownblood loyalist. Over the radio came a disturbing call about the Loyalist being after the club. He'd intercepted the transmission, hacking t heir frequency for the briefest of moments before it was lost. It was still enough to go off, and give warning to those fellow rebels. He radio'd in about the incoming attack, only hoping it was enough time to help them not loose the place.
The spirit of vigor and battle was in the air. They wouldn't loose another base so easily!
While he wasn't much one for such things, the fact a place they had control over was in danger was not something worth being under estimated.
Stryke's lusus deals (2*2)= 4 damage and takes 1 damage! He can reroll. All Rebel trolls deal double damage for the remainder of the round!

No, he didn't need to know more about bases that he couldn't do anything with. Stryke hadn't seen the building in question since the start of the fight, and any intel pertaining to it, or would be mission closer would certainly be a fools errand.
He tuned out during this bit, sighing as he realized he really should be paying attention and moved to go get batteries for his radio, reloading them before joining his lusus's side.

This was more like progress, he'd finally managed to find a place that was safe from loyalists and rebels threatening to trample him.. he couldn't count for the number of times his poor lusus had gotten smacked or hit in the line of defense while the yellowblood barked orders over the radio, trying to move and position trolls based on data available.
Anything really to be helpful.

Odette clung to Vremea's leg and kicked at anybody who dared come near. It was with her little feet, but sometimes she got a good kick to the shin and knocked them down. Disabling the trolls was much better than cutting them up and making them bleed, she thought.
LOCATION: GLADIATORIAL SHOWGROUND [3,2] TARGET: BEASTS OF THE ARENA
New kid rules:
NEW RULES OF NOTE: Kid battle mechanics have changed somewhat for this battle event.
If you're a kid on assault: Roll 2d6 for your first turn after the boss attacks. The first die is the damage you take and any effects that happen, and the second die is your (lusus') damage roll as normal.
Additionally, at half-hour opportunities between rounds, lusii can attack. They roll 1d4 damage that automatically hits. Lusii cannot be healed or support trinketed.
Rough and ragged, the rebels sought shelter from the royalists pursuing their forces through the city. Finally, they sought shelter -- the Gladiatorial Showground, which appeared abandoned from the outside. It would be a fine place to rest and regroup, and fortuitously the doors could be closed behind them to the outside rebels. Disarming the guards was simple with the numbers of the rebels, and the rebels made their entrance into the showground.
A deep growl came from within the arena. No wonder there were so few guards -- the lions within the arena were doing a mighty fine job of keeping away intruders.

If you roll a 1, the manes of these lions are not only beautiful, but shedding. All of the fur in the air causes your eyes to water and your nose to itch. Of all things, you just can't have this kind of distraction at a time like this! You can't focus and find yourself cornered by the beast. Take 2 damage and lose 2 accuracy from your attack rolls.
If you roll a 2, you barely manage to dodge a lion’s pounce, but it’s just enough. The lion smashes into a wall behind you with enough force to dislodge rubble from the stadium. You’re beaned with a rock, but at least you’re not mauled by a giant cat. Take 2 damage.
If you roll a 3... Lions are just big cats, right? Maybe if you just pet it behind the ears and show it you mean no harm, it will leave you alone. This is a bad idea. Take 2 damage.
If you roll a 4, The good news is that the lions don’t seem interested in you. The bad news is that they’re interested in the wires hanging from the intelligence equipment. If you are an ASSAULT troll, you get an extra attack that can be used immediately! If you are an INTEL troll, roll 3d6 for your coordinate searches. If the third die number is odd, you fail your coordinate roll and take 1 damage.
If you roll a 5...If you are INTEL, you identify which doors in the arena lead to the animal holding chambers, and which door is the exit. You take no damage, and enemy coordinates searched this round will not do damage to you. As an ASSAULT troll, you’re left holding off the lions while the INTEL trolls disengage the locks. You take 2 damage, but deal 1 extra damage per attack.
If you roll a 6: You realize the loyalists must have had methods of dealing with these beasts if they were able to maintain a base here. You break away from the group to find the lions’ food storage, which the lions are all-too happy to be distracted by. You take no damage this turn, and if you are a kid with a lusus, you gain 3 HP.

If there was one thing Ganyma knew he could do, it was grapple with an animal. Frankly, they were much less frightening than royalists with long range guns and gambligants with their explosives. He just hoped he didn't screw this one up.
Fortunately, some of the other trolls were doing important thinking business and Ganyma could focus on subjugating these ferocious beasts. He took a couple of paws to the chest with a hiss of pain and managed to pin one of the lions. Take that! It reminded him of Luxara and Didero. Ganyma's expression drooped as he held the animal down.

As they moved along, the small troll while tired kept his chin up, determined as he moved along keeping up. The battle field was a horrible place...he would keep an eye out for those who were in need of healing. Even if hat meant touching sometroll. He's spent enough time in the medical wing back at base to have an idea of how to help some one injured.
"The pale flush district is on their hit list..?" Making a face at the district mention it didnt matter. He had to do something about it. He was still tuned into that frequency. Stryke had been tampering with his radio practically all evening. Listening for voices he didn't recognize, trying to find things of relevance. "We should position ourselves for a counter-strike. Move it!" The boy called out, radioing into their base.
The only thing he asked in return was some one to keep him safe. His lusus did a fine job of it of course..but it didn't hurt to have backup. Even if the bruises still healing made him hesitant to ask for it he had no choice. Cowering in a corner away from the fur and noise his father all but dragged the troll away from the corner to a safer location.
Stryke's result does (2)*2= 4 damage and takes 2 damage. He can reroll. All Rebel trolls now deal double damage for the remainder of the round!

He knew almost everything about this particular location, including what could or could not be deployed from it and what resources it contained. Never mind the fact they'd been by there earlier in the evening. Radioing in for a status report Stryke was satisfied he'd at least found a spot far away from all the lions. He and his lusus even seemed safe..
Stryke had time to call in for more troops, and try and get a baseline about where his fellow rebels were. As long as he stayed where he was for the time being..it seemed like his father's harsh stares and made the felines think twice about bothering them.

It was tiring keeping this lion at bay, and Ganyma began to sweat under his uniform. When were the other trolls going to open up the gate, anyway? He delivered a punch to the snout of the lion he was grappling and struggled to hang on as it thrashed around.
