"Wait." She followed after him, still spooked about her name being on a list, which she made sure that they remained unrecognizable to anyone else who felt like coming in here. "I want to know why I'm on a list of targets when I know for certain that I've done nothing to get on it." Her happy mood was gone and sadness fell over her, knowing a few people personally that were marked off on the list. "But, if it is for the best that no one needs to know, then can you stay at the academy for a bit longer? At least until I get through my graduation exam." Aurora was never this vulnerable to anyone outside of family, plus her world was changed when she saw her name carved on that wall.

Darrick stopped and looked back to her as she cought up. He gave a single nod, "yes I've been led to the academy to learn to use a blade. I still intend to do so, I think this..." he pointed back where they came, "was a demonstration from my Faith of what is to come and why I was led to the academy." He closed his eyes to think a moment and choose his words carefully, "And at a time like this i'll admit it's a good idea to have an Allie to help keep watch..." he grumbled, "though I'm sure it wont last long. Weird things usually follow me or happen to me, just like this. This is why I go solo." He opened his eyes to look at her. No longer as strong willed as he seemed most of the time, but also in sadness. It was simple, things like this kept him from having any friends, and he had no family, never even knew any family to have. But he was sure at least by how she asked him to stay, at least until she was at her exam, she would be around. But now it was also certain, she could see the lonely boy inside his eyes, with a small sense of hope she would understand what he's already been through, even if she didn't know it.

Aurora saw the look in his yes and came to the conclusion that his Faith must have been hard on others that tried to be friendly with him. He needed a real friend, and she wouldn't give up on him now. "Well, I won't let that keep me from being a friend to you. Besides, with how you fought in there, you have the makings of being a great swordsman. I'll get my family to train you properly, trust me." She grabbed his hand and pulled him back towards the academy, as she had many things to inform her family before they came to observe her graduation test.

As they headed back Darrick was mostly silent. She had called him friend, and said that she could help him learn to be a swords men. He wasn't aroused by the women from she was, but rather by the fact she was going to at least give him a chance. This would at least mean also that his days in the academy, wouldn't be as lonely as he expected. He followed her all the way back without saying anything though, mostly in his regular thoughts. One hand however was on his wooden blades handle the entire way, he never even realized it until they got back.

As they returned to their room to get some rest, other more powerful forces were at hard work high above them...

Clanking of heavy footsteps could be heard in a grand hallway as an Angel walked down it's lengths, wearing armor that was glamorous and had a few scratches here and there from it's time in thousands of battles in his past life before he was asked to ascend to the heavens as an Angel of Justice, among others that became key aspects of Judgment. Tyrael always kept a hood up that fully hid his face from any angle, as a sign that his title was all that was needed to be identified. He fully devoted himself to his blessed duties and never faltered, keeping true that his duties were to protect the innocent. However, a key difference from other angels was that instead of feathery wings, his were tendrils of light that waved into the air endlessly behind him as he strolled along.

Of course, his days as the embodiment of Justice was numbered, with the death of his mentor, the Arch Angel of Judgment, he had to fill the role for the chosen successor and would serve as her advisor when she finally took her place in the Council. Until then, he had planned on finding his own successor to become the next Angel of Justice. He surely didn't trust his old comrade, Imperious the Angel of Valor, to help him with that; he had too many flaws with how things should be; that the strong would rise as the weak would never become strong. They've clashed on many occasions about how the right kind of Judgment should be given, but Tyrael was a little glad that Imperious would not become the Arch Angel; that would have been a complete disaster for everyone.

Shaking his thoughts from the past, he continued down the halls to find one of the members of Fate, hoping to see if his decision would change the outcome of their grand design of all things; he really didn't want to take a chance on getting them angry at him for picking the person they were interested in.

Upon the same halls there happened to be a Arch Angel Dead in front of him headed the opposite way it seemed. Avision the Arch Angle of Hope, the lisener of all prayer from the living down below. She was a tall women, with what looked much like a leather set of armor, even though it wasn't quite armor, it appeared that way. Her large white feathered wings behind her almost stretched over the sides of the hallway, even bunched up and closed. This women had long white hair, and a whitish haze in her eyes as she stopped near him as she stepped aside to move her wings out of the way, "ah it's been quiet some time Tyrael..." she announced unsure just exactly were he was headed or why. Her voice however was stronger then most would imagine a angel of hope. And just recently had Avision became an Arch angel for her position, her ability's were still becoming perminate. In her past life many knew her as a warrior that would help the peoples wishes. And still yet in this life it seemed she was to do so, as her job consisted of hearing out all the wishes made to the heavens. But she eyed Tyreal, even here in Heaven everyone had there right to choose there own thoughts, sadly Avision didn't like the Judgment side much. Even the descendants since Mana, mostly of personal reasons.

"Ah, Avision, I've been meaning to ask that we gather everyone to the Table as I have something to ask of Itherael. He won't show himself for anything else..." His mood was a little down at that, since Itherael and Tyrael were friends in their time as mortals. But when Itherael became the new Arch Angel of Fate, they barely ever spoke anymore, as he was diving himself into his work to rarely ever show his face. But he understood the reasons for that; his Scroll is the key to his power to alter one's Fate, and that having it fall into the wrong hands could destroy what little balance was restored from Mana's death.

Shaking off the negativity, he became a flash of light and was soon warping towards the Council Table, where the others would slowly gathered. Since there was yet a time for the newly named Arch Angel of Judgment to take her role, He would be taking her place until the time came.

* The large stone table stretched in the room, on it's surface, the entire world. here they could see anything, anyone, and everything if need be. It's keeper, Calob the Angel of Validity stood and called to the other angels entering the room, "please take your seats, we do indeed have a matter to decide it seems." The four current Arches took there seats, Fate, Validity, Death, Hope. Tyrael stood for the fifth, Judgment. Sadly time was absent, and sadly life hadn't appeared yet, if there was anyone to take the seat at this time.
As they all got organized, Calob (validty) looked to Fate, "this is a decision namely in your fields this time." He reached a hand out at Tyrael, "go on."

Tyrael calmy cleared his throat as attention was drawn to him. "Itherael, I've been meaning to ask for your insight about the decision I have made about finding my successor for the role as the Angel of Justice." He knew that with the way things were, Judgment needed to recover the strength they lost when Mana died, and with him having to take the role as advisor and sub for the training Arch Angel, he would not be able to continue his original duties. He needed someone to become the perfect embodiment of Justice, to protect the innocent. "There is a tournament in the mortal world the students of the order that Mana forged from her own blood, sweat and tears, and I wish to choose one of them to wield El'Druin." His sword was now set on the table for the members to see.

Since the Angels were a little bigger than most humans, the blade was 5 feet long, and the center gem radiated with an endless light. The blade was a gift to him for his long services created by Mana, whom he believed that she had a feeling that she wouldn't have long after that big confrontation about the angels also being judged. Also, a stray thought lead him to believe that, even though it was made for a hero of Justice, that it wasn't for him to wield, but instead would be used by whomever became the next Angel of Justice. An unseen smile graced his hidden face as he looked to the rest of the Council to figure out what they were thinking. He wasn't a mind reader, but his 6th sense was attuned to the justice that they were to receive...

The other Arch Angels leaned and glared for a moment. To bring up the worst event that had ever happened in heaven itself, the biggest mistake they could have made thus far was now once again before them. It seemed they couldn't still excape the fate of their own first, and only wrong doing. Mana, the angel of Judgment warened the Arch Angels they too were to be judged, and that there names had come, and in fear they cast her out to the living realm. Then once again, it backfired on them in many many ways. When they finally gave in, it was too late, and Mana had died leaving her few finale loyal Angels, and a chosen child to become the assasser of her once held title, the doughter of the second grim reaper, Ami. And that child was none other then percillia, who had to take the role as just a immortal child, without even a choice. Now 1000 years had past, and she was still within her training. Never had she set foot into the Heavens. Some felt becuse she came from the reaper a symbol of death, she was not be alowed. Others, felt becuse the Reapers helped move the stuck souls on that they were just as welcome in the heavens as the angels were. So Percilla had to earn her way up, further then her own wings could carry her.
Deathira (Death) gave a slow now, her voice sounding of that of dust in her windpipe, a shivering whisper sounded, "we cannot undo the wrong that we had made, I am the last surrviving of the origanl Arch Angels, i've seen what had be fortold unravle even when i had not seen it coming first hand..." she took a long inhale, "since then that balence was broken, becuse we did not heed our only warning..." However Avision (hope) slamed her hand down on the table, "so what now we take pitty? We give them all we want? When does this end?" She looked around the table, the others thinking. Calob (Validty) held and hand to his chin and gave a nod, "this could be the final fix actully. Think about it before you asume. Percilla wasn't ready nor prepared, and far to young. She's not going to be fit to rise for many more eons to come perhaps. She does not know what happens here, what decistions we make. She needs a advisor she can trust, someone who can do the leg work she cannot. WIth that out of the way we should no longer have a problem with what happened and can leave it all behind us in the past." Avision (hope) Sat all the way down again, not that she was up, but rather huvering in her seat. Deathica (death) gave a nod of approval. But finally Avision spoke once more, "what of this torniment then? What gives any the right to fight for your current spot then another? Any can hope to gain wings and asend to the light. What deems any worthy? Is it just fighting they need to do, this tornimate just a bloodshed event, the surrvivor wins?" She asked. All eyes now layed on Tyrael."

"It is much more than that, Avision, and none of the students are to be killed unless things go out of hand. They are to prove several skills during this test; First, is a sort of quiz that challenges their wisdom of the laws first made by Mana herself when she created the Paladin Order. The second is more combat based, but the key difference is the choice in the matter; they are given something that they must protect until 'reinforcements' arrive, and that the 'enemies' far outnumber the defender. This will force them to decide whether to flee and abandon their duties, or to stand their ground at all costs. The final trial that a student must pass is passing judgment upon a criminal whom supposedly has done a great, unmentionable crime, and to give a justified reason for said judgment. If the students meet the standards, then they are allowed to ascend to the lower ranks of the Order, or if a veteran member sees promise in a failed student they can be taken into apprenticeship. Besides the tests, I have one personal trial I wish to enact upon whom I choose, and if I find them worthy, only then will they gain my blade."

Outside of El'Druin, no one below the rank of Arch Angel had an artifact forged within the Heavens of such power, and that sending such a powerful blade down into the mortal world would be considered ludicrous. "I've almost forgotten something that Mana once told me about El'Druin; it has a mind of it's own when it comes to whom wields it, and that it has tolerated me for this long. This is why I wish to find my successor sooner, rather than the blade leaving the Heavens to find someone worthy later and cause panic and tipping the balance among our ranks." That would certainly get Validity to side with him on the matter, since Hope was going to be a lost cause in the end. "I leave the final decision in your hands..."

"I approve." All heads would turn to Itherael, whom also had his hood hiding his face as he closed up the Scroll of Fate. "I see the wisdom in Tyrael's suggestion involving his role being passed on. Even though I can see the many possible futures with this artifact, this blade does not show itself in the Scroll. It's fate, and that of it's chosen wielder, is unwritten." This would get their attention; the fact that something could not be seen as a possibility was frightening, meaning that it was possible that either the blade will do something great, or disastrous. "I would not wish to evoke it's wrath upon any member of this Council, even though the blade itself will think otherwise if it truly was made by Mana herself."
PostPosted: Sat Aug 16, 2014 2:32 pm

Deathica nodded again, "ah yes, a tool made to defeat even the highest of authority if judgment was to be placed. Nothing to fear, just a tool for the correct rules within the cause..." she gave a nod, "I... Approve as well..." her hoarse voice replied.
Avision however kept quiet a bit longer before she shied and tapped her fingers on the end of the table, "it seems to me like a inspiring instrument... the first of it's kind crafted souly for the cause of a Arch Angel as well and that in itself. I will admit that it's a rather interesting concept. You seem to have everything in order in the mortal realm as well already..." while she still looked for a bad side to the idea, Caleb (validity), "Which shows that you know the risks, and that if you cannot find this person, then you will have to move on with your current rank even after. It's a fifty fifty chance you will find anyone who could wield the tool... but there is also a sense of order in the way you handle this event. I accept."
Now it was all back on the final member at the table, Avision. She shied again, "alright with carful thought I also accept, however as you would all expect, I think there should be a overseer to back you up. A second opinion, just in case when the choice at the end of your tournament is to be made. I am not saying it isn't you choice, I'm just stating that someone's there to see it happen when you make the choice." She looked to the others, "something as important as a wielder of this tool would be viewed carefully and respectfully." Calob agreed with a nod, "a fine and fair jester. Itherael since you are the angle of fate, and cannot be seen on the earth, I think you should be there when the tournament finishes for this. Other then that, we are at agreement to your cause Tyrail and we wish you good luck."

Tyrael hid a sigh of relief, at least now he had an agreement with every member of the council so proper changes could be made. But he wondered why Avision wasn't arguing the point any further than she would. She wasn't a fan of Judgment, but neither was she out to ruin them.... at least as far as he knew. With a nod in thanks, he looked to Itherael and they both nodded. "If any of you have further doubts about my choice, then you are free to come down here to observe the final decision yourselves..." With that, he let the other members leave until it was just him and Itherael.

Fate looked to his old friend, and noticed something he hadn't before. "You planned this, didn't you?" Tyrael turned to him with the hood bending sideways like he was genuinely confused. "I have no idea what you speak of, old friend. I surely didn't have my mind made up about whom I would choose before I held this meeting." Itherael chuckled a bit and excused himself to prepare for the descent to Earth, as did Tyrael. At that moment, history would be made, for both men and angels alike...

Down on Earth, that morning.....

*BEEPBEEPBEEPBEE-* Crash!!!

Let it be known that Shonryu's were NEVER morning people, Aurora being the worst of them. Removing her hand from the shattered remains of her 248th alarm clock that year, she looked to the calendar and sprang into action; today was the day of the Graduation Exams. After taking less than a minute to prepare herself, which was an Academy record, she ended up stopping outside of Derrick's door. "Derrick! Come ooon, I know you won't take the test, but can you at least come for moral support??" By her behavior, it seemed that she forgot all about last night's fight and horrifying discovery.
PostPosted: Sat Aug 16, 2014 2:58 pm

Darrick opened his door, but seemed already ready... dressed exactly like he was the night before, but that was because he didn't own anything. He stepped out his room, "I wanted to observe either way." He gave her a nod, "also I wish you personally, Good Luck today. Weather you win, pass, fail, or loose, at the end perhaps we can do a calibration if you wish." he offered as they walked down the hall quickly. However in his head he wondered how the exam worked mainly, and what sort of skills were required. He felt a feeling in his gut when she mentioned the exam in the first place, and since then he knew it would be important to go. Right now he also had a friend it seemed aswell, his first Allie, so he also felt perhaps to gain her trust, he needed to be there for her aswell. Still however, he held the same expression as before.

"Aww, I knew you cared Derrick." She laughed herself silly down the hall, waking the late risers in the process. Yea, this was a normal morning routine for this dorm hall.

After a big healthy-ish breakfast, all of the academy students went towards the biggest building of the Academy, where the Graduation Exam would take place. Derrick and any observers would sit up at the thousands of chairs that would watch the whole thing take place.

((Gonna have to push this since I gotta get going))

As the students took the written exam, Derrick could hear whispers from some of the more noble members of the stands with things along the lines of "Crap, she's still here." "How did they fail?" "No matter, her little accident later will make sure she doesn't make it." "Shonryu will not become one of us if it's the last thing we do." Something was very wrong with these exams.
