My first was the first, Clerks, and believe it or not, I saw it when I was 6! Still amazing, years later!

The first Kevin Smith film I ever saw was Clerks, and to this day, it's still probably my favourite film. It's just so true to life, you know? I've had at least one "oooh, NAVY SEALS!" guy in my store before. Though, to my knowledge, there's never been any necrophelia in the bathroom...... whee

My first was Dogma. I think my sister or her roommate had it on VHS and I was bored at their place one day so watched it. Loved it, but didn't realise that there was actually a series of movies leading up to that one. Later, I saw Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back in theatres and again, found it hilarious but as it turns out, I'm immensely dense.

Finally, I picked up Clerks on VHS from the clearance bin at the convenience store where I used to work. I thought it would be appropriate as it seemed to be about what was basically my life.

After watchin that, all the pieces finally came together and I hunted down Mallrats and Chasing Amy.

When Clerks II came out, I got free tickets to an advance screening from the record shop I was working at. I have not laughed so hard at a movie before, or since. It was the perfect sequel, true to everything that made the first so wonderful and completely regrounding Jay and Bob as real people. A masterpiece.

My first was Dogma...I think. It was bits of pieces of Dogma. I didn't know what to make of Jay and Silent Bob. Then when I saw them in Mallrats at a friends house I wondered how many of these movies those guys had shown up in. Someone mentioned to me they were in Chasing Amy, so I watched that.

It's funny, I saw the animated series of Clerks before I saw the movie. So in the beginning of one of the episodes when Dante and Randal get a letter, and the reader says he wants the series to be more like the movie. So naturally they bring out dancing singing animals and the whole thing turns into this circus, I'm like "what the F....?" I realized when the opening started it was probably nothing at all like the movie and that was the joke, but it made me even more enticed to watch the first View Askiew.
