"I was thinking of going to an amusement park or something. The kids mention it a lot, and it's been a long time since I've been there. Whadaya say? We could probably get in cheap if you act like the kid you look like. You've already got the bratty side down." he snickered."Your music will live on."

☸ Alan Brandt ☸ "The science of it all is simple." n irritated vein reappeared on his forehead, fists tightening. "I'm a physicist, not a chemist," he murmured, offended beyond reasonable belief. He wasn't some hack chemist! He believed in science, not explosions! Sitting on top of his desk, Alan crossed his legs and arms, contemplating the proposal. He couldn't help but wonder what it was like to go to an amusement park, but he had two more classes! He could possibly be fired if he were caught. Although, honestly, he'd never really gone, and the kids would be overjoyed at not having class. What harm would it bring?
Shrugging, Alan hopped off the desk and started digging around his desk drawers for his wallet. "Alright, I guess one day of playing hooky wouldn't hurt." "The numbers never lie."

Reed de Févin"You were my everything."It had been a week since Reed had seen Alan. Ever since that fateful reunion with his ex-wife, he hadn't seen the scientist. It was a double-edged sword. Reed was glad to no longer have a hateful tension between Mary, but he missed Alan. He missed that grumpy, stubborn attitude he had when it came to new things, he missed how he'd show off his knowledge of science, he missed Alan's eagerness to get food with him.
Reed sighed as he entered the main building. It was the last day before Christmas break. Dozens of students were already gone, he was pretty sure Alan was too. Even if he was, there was no doubt he was hiding. The band director came into the physics room every day to see if he was there, but it all ended up with nothing. The first few days he tried going at their usual lunch time, but once that was made clear that it wasn't happening, Reed tried random times. He even left in the middle of his own classes, which Ryuu and Kaoru were fine with handling. Right now was the last class period before the final bell. If Alan wasn't there, then Reed wouldn't be seeing him for another month."Your music will live on."

☸ Alan Brandt ☸ "The science of it all is simple." "Why couldn't you ask me these things during class?" sighed a familiar irritated voice inside the classroom. A fairly young, but very persistent male's voice answered unintelligibly, to with Alan exhaled through his nose at. "Alright, alright, fine. Sit down and I'll explain it one more time." He walked to the chalkboard, holding a piece of white chalk in one hand as he wrote out the equation. "Ohm's law states that the current through a conductor between two points is directly proportional to the potential difference across the two points. Introducing the constant of proportionality, the resistance, one arrives at the usual mathematical equation that describes this relationship: I equals V over R, where I is the current through the conductor in units of amperes, V is the potential difference measured across the conductor in units of volts, and R is the resistance of the conductor in units of ohms. More specifically, Ohm's law states that the R in this relation is constant, independent of the current." He stopped, eyes on the student. "With me so far?"
The student, a very tall redhead with cute features and curly hair, nodded excitedly.
As Alan prepared to continue, he looked to the door, noticing Reed. He stood up straight, swallowed the lump in his throat, then looked back to the student. "We'll continue this after the break. You don't have any homework, so don't worry about it." The student nodded and scurried off, leaving Alan to collect his things and shove them into his bag. He had to get out, fast. "The numbers never lie."

Reed de Févin"You were my everything."Reed stared at the scientist as he taught as he leaned against the door frame, feeling a small smile climb up his face when he heard the explanation. Of course he didn't understand a word of it, but it was cute seeing the student respond so well to him.
When the Alan caught sight of him, the band director frowned again. He moved and gave a short nod to the leaving student, though his gaze stayed on the man that was trying hard to leave as quickly as possible.
"So are you going to keep avoiding me all the time now?" he finally asked after a silent moment, his eyes sad and weary."Your music will live on."

☸ Alan Brandt ☸ "The science of it all is simple." Alan flinched at the man's voice, then quickly zipped up his bag and turned to erase what was on the board. "Shouldn't you be with your lover instead of hassling me?" he asked harshly, trying to stifle the pain in his chest that just wouldn't go away. He raised one hand to his heart, rubbing gently in his attempt to combat the pain. Why was Reed even there? "The numbers never lie."

Where he would usually have a goofy grin and a happy expression, he was serious and quiet now. It made him look older. ☸ Alan Brandt ☸ "The science of it all is simple." He paused, taking a moment before looking over at Reed, his hands falling to his sides. "Who?" he asked, his voice suddenly hoarse. Green eyes stared at the band director for a few seconds before he cleared his throat and stared back at the board, continuing to erase. "Is it that floozy who looks like a girl that works for you? What's his name, Kaoru? I didn't know that you liked girly boys, Reed." "The numbers never lie."

He slung the strap over his shoulder, taking his keys from his pocket to lock his desk up. "Get out of my way, I have a plane to catch," grunted Alan as he started then for the door. He had to be back in Africa by the next morning. "The numbers never lie."

A vein pulsing at the side of his head, the musician reached out and grabbed Alan's wrist, forcing him to a stop. "Goddammit, Al, I was talking about you." he seethed."Your music will live on."

What was Reed going for, joking around like this? It was cruel, yanking at Alan's heart the way he was! "You aren't funny!" he cried, feeling the well of overwhelmed tears begin to overflow. "Let me go, you a**. I won't stand around and let you walk all over me just like every one else does!" The stress of everything was finally bearing down on the scientist, and the tightness of his chest was throbbing with pain. "Let go!" "The numbers never lie."

Reed de Févin"You were my everything."The vein at the side of Reed's head got bigger. What the hell?! He confesses and gets it thrown in his face? Wasn't this supposed to be some big romantic scene? Where were the blooming roses, the pink backgrounds? What the hell did he have to do to convince this stubborn brat?!
Deciding on a more physical approach, Reed kept a firm grip on Alan's wrist and used his other hand to grab his chin. He leaned in and pressed their lips together, hoping to convey his message that way."Your music will live on."

☸ Alan Brandt ☸ "The science of it all is simple." Alan's eyes widened as he was forced into a kiss, his free hand clenching into a fist and moving to Reed's shoulder. He was really dedicated to this joke, wasn't he? As the heartbroken physicist prepared to strike the musician, an image appeared in his mind. It was a memory, a hazy one at that, of the night he and Reed had gotten so incredibly drunk. He remembered crying, the angry Reed, and... a kiss. A kiss that he himself had ended before Reed started another one. Why would Reed kiss him? Why hadn't he stopped it? How could he have forgotten?
The short teacher pushed out of the kiss, his fingers uncurling as he looked up at the band director, eyes searching for that familiar ashamed desire that each of his previous offenders had in their eyes. Reed's were clear. "You're such an idiot," he insulted, before throwing his free arm around Reed's neck and yanking himself upwards into another kiss, his eyes closed as their lips touched for the fourth time in their lives. "The numbers never lie."

Reed de Févin"You were my everything."When the kiss was broken, Reed gazed down at Alan, staring into his eyes to see if he finally believed him or not. At being called an idiot, his eyes narrowed into bold lines. Did he-
Before he could even finish the thought, he found himself being kissed again. He didn't bother thinking or feeling surprised, he quickly let go of the scientist's hand to wrap his arms around his waist and returned the kiss. It was a powerful kiss with fireworks popping in the air around them, celebrating their union. It was actually the first kiss where they both knew their feelings for each other.
