Though correcting himself DID help to alleviate the irritation that now stewed within her, it didn't fix the problem at all, the largest malefactor to her mood. When they reached the building, Alassea definitely had her reservations about entering a building inhabited by a stranger. For all she knew, he could have been some sort of trafficker; helping the sick and destitute as a disguise to capture youths such as herself. Lord knows the kind of peril she'd find herself in if he were to traffick her. With her guard at the ready, the young elf entered the the strange man's laboratory, looking in awe at all the marvels of technology before her. The amount of time she'd spent here in the more...upgraded areas of the plane had been extremely limited, as a large portion of her time had been spent dedicating herself to the study of medicine and archery. Most of the tech she saw here was completely new to her. It took all her focus not to continue staring and actually listen to what she was being told. She'd heard little about these diseases in the past, mostly that they were either major inconveniences, or population killers. Honestly, it seemed very much like they were faced with the latter.
"I haven't had much experience with...science, so I'm not sure I'll be much help to you with all of this research. I've never run into a situation where my healing abilities weren't sufficient. Especially not something as severe as this plague." Above all, Alassea was truthful, even if it got her into trouble sometimes. Perhaps her inexperience in this regard would have Sariel's interest fade away. Maybe he'd kill her for being so useless to his goals. Either way, his own look of defeat under the mask was surprising. Someone with so much to say about the current state of the continent, and with so much chatter about his research, the symptoms and the combination of diseases...wasn't it a bit odd for someone so obsessed to look so defeated? "Above all else, we must be vigilant, Sariel. We won't solve anything sitting here, waiting for these machines to tell us the answer."

Neither of them had noted his presence. Watching them from a distance, everyone. The plague was a grand distraction, and one the puppet master of this show took full advantage of it all. A corpse could easily become a vector for illness once necrosis had set in, and the ability for Sevastiana to send whole sale plagues across entire nations combined with the state of death itself for an interesting ability. A dead body being carried on a cart became a spy for Sevastiana so long as the plague still existed within it. And this plague did not simply die with it's host. Currently, she'd seen and heard everything that the plague doctor had said about the plague during his autopsies. His autopsy had been monitored to see if he would gain progress worthy of destruction: after all, she'd created and let loose this plague, but it was not fool proof. She was not so ornery to believe it was beyond these crafty mortals, and it was this careful observation that would make her dangerous. A corpse rose from the ground in a dark allyway, far away from the lab, and at the behest of a being of great power across the Great Ocean, a mist rolled in over all of Yuran. The corpse could see through this mist easily enough... but nothing else could. Even the sight would be blocked off outside of a ten foot range. This creature moved fast, and the sounds of terror as the blinding mist caused the sick and healthy alike to panic and be confused. These sounds would precede the arrival of the corpse, which took it's empowered muscles and claw like hands to grasp a dead body and throw it with great force right into the front door of the lab and through all the walls between itself and his prey, both of them. The sound of buzzing locusts and moaning like only a zombie could filled the air suddenly, and the creature pointed his fingers towards them. A wall black mist, rife with the smell of death itself and mosquitoes began to flood forward. A perceptive eye would notice that the corpse seemed to desiccate and fall to the ground. The hair on their necks should be standing on end.
"No, sitting here won't accomplish much. I was hoping that my machines would have come up with something useful by now, but it seems that nothing is working right now like it should be. Normally at this point, the machines would have been able to isolate the virus strain. But no such luck." Sariel stood up, walking to one of the machines as the entire building began to rumble. Moments later, a body came crashing through the walls, breaking most of the machines in the room. It was then that Sariel was confronted with the menacing zombie of doom standing in the doorway.
"Alassea, my dear, it would seem that the forces behind this plague are onto us. I suggest we make our exit, stage left." With a wave of his hand, the wall behind Alassea would dematerialize into air, revealing an opening to another street, this one too shrouded in mist like the rest of the district. "I myself shall deal with our uninvited guest. If you would be so kind as to secure our escape route, I would be ever so in your debt." Sariel turned to the locust swarm as it tore through the building, grinning. He reached to the machine next to him, pulling out a small thumb drive, before making all the machines in the lab turn to dust. In Sariel's other hand, a large blow torch would appear, already spewing flames, filling the hallway with flames as Sariel whipped it back and forth. Soon the walls of the building would instantly be in flames, causing the building to crackle and smoke. A wall of fire in the hallway to cover his escape, Sariel made his way out of the opening in the wall.
Now in the cool air of the night, Sariel reformed the wall behind him, sealing the fiery inferno behind him. "With this mist, our visibility is severely limited. I suggest we get out of it or get rid of it." Sariel's attire changed yet again, replacing the lab coat with a casual suit and golden face mask. "Whatever you decide to do, I suggest we decide quickly, there is something unnatural about this mist." Sariel straightened his suit, looking around, scanning every visible part of the street. A moment later, an assault rifle appeared in his hands. Nothing fancy, just a run of the mill FN FAL, with side mounted PEQ-15.

Alassea was startled to hear crushing sounds around her, the timeless sounds of violence. Before long, a body would come crashing out of the wall in front of her, affording her little time to quickly sidestep out of her chair before the body crushed her would-be perch. Sariel's words were little more than a dim hum in her mind, though by some miracle she understood the gist of what he was trying to tell her. Long before had her mind entered a sharpened combat mode; whatever this was, the elf would try to be as prepared as humanly possible to battle it. Taking action, Alassea would draw her bow, creating two arrows of energy along the string as she drew. Firing two arrows into the hole in the wall before retreating at high speeds, Alassea would dart out of the hole Sariel created, unleashing a grappling hook at the building nearest to her to create a height advantage for herself. Should Sariel need it, Alassea would shoot another hook at the ground to give him a means of ascending. Otherwise, she would keep her bow at the ready to continue shooting when their target exited the building, her senses ever at the ready.
But his words concerned her. The entity responsible? Sure...it was a plague of vicious intensity, and had racked the entire continent in a span of time almost impossible to describe, but...no. The more she thought about it, the more it became clear to her; something like this was most definitely NOT possible without a higher power's intervention. It had been a long time since she'd spoken with Justor, but...maybe he'd be able to give her some answers. In her mind, she sent a soft-spoken prayer to her god. 'Justor...please give me guidance. Please instruct me in these dark times, so that I may carry on for the future of Axiom.'
Their responses had been swift, and substantial to stop the plagued corruption from crashing into their bodies. Hwoever, the flames of the blowtorch were little beyond a distraction, and swift side to side jerks avoided the arrows. The closing of the wall provided cover between itself and those that the mist seemed to have been barrelingtowards. However, a moment of silence would precede the newly formed wall being smashed and debris flying forward as yet another plagued corpse flung itself at them. This one had the same elongated claws, that same empty eye socket housing a blue glow, that look and stench of death as it closed in on it's prey. Energy was now surrounding it's body twice over, giving it a blackened aura as well as turning the creature into a living weapon as well as all but teleporting the beast right in front of him. Whoever was in control of this mist was barreling directly for Sariel, aiming to shove it's clawed hand through his neck and sever his head.

Sariel was about to join Alassea on her higher vantage point when the wall behind him cracked and blew open, spewing debris over the street. It seemed that their pursuer was not so easy lost as he had presumed. "Alassea, my dear, I will join you as soon as I can, I appear to have another uninvited guest to deal with." As the creature stepped through the opening in the wall, Sariel fired off a volley of shots in the creatures direction before throwing down his weapon to raise his hands. He had barely enough time to think of a defense as the creature appeared a few feet away from him.
As the creature swung at Sariel, several steel plates appeared in the space between the two of them. The plates would not be enough to negate the creatures embodiment, but it would slow it down as it attempted to break through the sheets of metal between the pair of them. It also gave the Sariel the time he needed to launch a counterattack of his own, summoning several orbs of energy in the air above the creature. 16 in total, they would appear as nothing more than ripples in the air, more like condensed air than balls of energy. The orbs would shower down on the creature, each one strong enough to shatter bones. Each would ire down from a different direction at varied intervals. At the same time, Sariel would hold his free hand in the air, creating a grappling gun, firing it into the air to join Alassea on her perch.
"If at all possible, I believe we should take this creature alive. Or at least in one piece, as its probably not alive in the traditional sense." As a last measure of protection, Sariel reached into an inside pocket on his suit, remove a small, golden wand. With a flick of the wand, Sariel drew in several chunks of metal from nearby buildings, forming them into an Atronach that stood in front of Sariel on the roof. Its right arm was a blade and the left was shaped like a shield. He would then turn to Alassea, pointing his wand at her for a moment. She would feel a warm energy wash over her for a second, empowering her to move even faster than she already could.

Seeing Sariel in the situation that he was, Alassea knew that they'd have to deal with this opponent much more quickly. Using a special ability of hers, Alassea would quickly bend the light around herself, becoming nearly invisible with little more than an outline to give away her position. She darted to the left, leaping across a couple of rooftops to give herself an opportunistic angle now that her position was likely sheathed. Taking aim, the joint use of another special ability--as well as a skill-would create an arrow that would appear almost as suddenly as Solonor would summon the sun.
This arrow--if the creature chanced to look at it--would cause severe damage to its vision, with even temporary exposure causing a modicum of visual damage. This was the other ability of Mania; Bright Lights. Though her arrow was enchanted with something else, something much more sinister. As it soared through the air, the blinding arrow was quite readily enchanted with the Dawn Elf Skill, The Blade Marches. It if were to come into contact with the corpse, its body would feel the searing impact of ten sun-baked arrows instead of one across its body, the energy exploding into a piercing volley. For now, Alassea would keep her perch on the same building, waiting guardedly for the creature to respond to their attacks, her senses always at the ready.

Dawn Shroud Available during night or day, the Dawn Elves can mentally edit the light around them, turning them almost completely invisible. They can do this repetitively, although it ends when they begin striking. They're not wholly invisible like this; you can see an outline of them. In the heat of battle, someone with premature concentration would not be able to keep up with the Elf. Bright Lights A very potent ability, the elf can enchant two items/areas connected to their own person with a horrifying effect. Looking at the item will be like directly looking into the sun, causing extreme pain and permanently damaging their eyesight if they look for more than a glimpse. Even a short glimpse will damage their sight for the duration of battle, making it nearly impossible for them to see your outline through Dawn Shroud. You can switch the two areas that have this effect. You can choose between: both hands, your legs, your weapon(s), your arrows, your eyes and an accessory of yours.
• Dementia - Dawn Dawn Elves can transmit their conscious into the air, similar to Dark Elves. They can use this very effectively, especially for spying. This is perfect for assassinations, as it allows you to completely recognize the conditions of the target. It's as simple as projecting your vision to anywhere within a km of you. You can look through walls, magical or not. Your other senses are available as well; you can hear, smell, feel. You can even project your sight into their bodies, although that's usually only helpful against monsters. It is, however, dangerous to use this in many scenarios. While you have keen senses, another stealthy opponent could assassinate you while you use this. This is the first of their projection passives, as they have another.
The second one enables them to, after having projected their sight somewhere, warp to it. While this is useful, it is simply stupid to try in battle, as it takes time to project your vision. The Dawn Elves will often use this to warp into the shadows, and perform a perfect assassination.

The ability to spawn something from nothing was a surprise for the diety behind this assault, and in the moment of distraction from the metal, the creature had failed to notice the enrgy forming in the air above it. It's shield of energy shattered against the metal, destroying both but leaving him unharmed. However, before it could simply attack again, the balls of gravity crashed into him and leveled his body against the ground. The swarm of plague energy around it seemed to fizzle out and die, and though they could not see it, the corpse was gone. Little did they know this was not the only one that the hunter set forth against them. The mist persisted, and something more sinister than the previous was now stalking the pair of would be surgeons. A few rooftops distance away, well over their own sight range, another creature was studying them. This one was of a different race, and it was biding it's time before it attacked them. Learning their nuances. Taking in their scent, the sounds of breathing.

Sariel watched with a small bit of satisfaction. It seemed that the individual controlling the creature didn't know the full extent of his power, and with any luck, they wouldn't have gleaned much about his abilities from just conjuring a simple steel plate and several orbs that it shouldn't have been able to see. Sariel turned to Alassea, nodding to her and giving her a thumbs up. "Yet another terrible beast eliminated. I suggest we carefully make our way down there to investigate our undead prey." Sariel jumped off the roof, a metal plate appearing under him that carried him safely to the ground. His Atronach would take a more direct route, jumping off the roof and slamming into the ground behind him, slightly cracking the pavement as it landed, keeping a watchful eye as Sariel stooped down to examine the body.
s**t I wish I wasn't such a shitty little crybaby all the ******** time :/. Oh well fourth wall break complete now.
Surprisingly, the body was no longer there in the street, the only trace that anything had happened was a broken steel plate and an imprint from where the gravity had impacted the ground. It was as if the corpses they were fighting weren't even real, some illusion being crafted by the mist. The creatures mangled corpse should have been in the street but not a single trace remained behind. "Alassea, my dear, it appears that our foe has somehow disappeared. Which means, he either dodged my attack, had his body vaporized, or never existed in the first place. I suggest we proceed with extreme caution. This mist may be behind all of this, we need to find the source of it before it destroys us." Sariel stood, having thoroughly examined the ground where the creature had stood only moments earlier. "Be careful, there may yet be more creatures lurking in the mist."

Taking the brief moment of solace, Alassea would use the sound of Sariel's voice to locate him among the mist, locating the place where the metal was created, and where the body should have been. However, something about his words didn't quite sit well with her. That they were potentially being watched. Her training as a marksman taught her that the best range is long range, and while the possibility didn't particularly please her, ultimately her senses were sharpened as was the normal in situations like these. Keeping an arrow knocked, the elf would begin to charge energy into the arrow she had knocked before deciding to scale the building once again. Drawing her string, the elf would let loose an extremely bright arrow of light above her, waiting only a short period before letting it explode in a brilliant flash.
Looking around, Alassea would make sure to confirm whether or not Sariel's theory held any credit. And, with his experience shining through, she saw it; their pursuer. Its figure hunched low, like a natural-born predator. Hopefully, her flash of light would be enough to stun it. Quickly--almost by instinct--her bow was knocked with two arrows of energy, firing both of them in a viciously straight path at the eyes of the creature. If this were successful...their opponent would hopefully be blinded--not only by the technique--but also permanently from the arrows.

It was unfortunate for the planned attack, sure, that the plagued victim could see the woman priming the arrow to be fired into the air. It was smarter than to believe that this would be something he should simply sit and watch, and instead the monster dove from the roof quickly, bouncing off of the wall and into an open window of the very building it was on top of. By the time the arrow exploded, the creature was already out of it's burst range. With it's heightened senses, it could still hear them. The creature prowled quickly, silently opening a different window and cleared the distance between them. The creature dug it's nails into the wall, climbing it without making a sound. It was now on the same building as his prey, drawing eight knives while holding on just barely at the edge of another window. Quietly it snuck into the building, a floor below them. Of the people inside on the floor, it killed the ones in it's way silently as he approached the vents. Still making no sounds, and paying energy to mask it's energy signature, the creature climbed to the opening of the vent, having a line of sight on his target. Energy charged into it's throwing knives, and with a swift swing of it's arms, all of them flew towards them. From it's position, the knives were visible through the now recovered mist, but could they respond in time. In the event that they moved, the creature would simply attempt to reacquire with it's heightened sense of smell and hearing, as well as sharp vision.

Wrong turn, again. Ugh. This place smelled weird. I was beginning to think that we had the wrong directions. This place had been so pretty when we first walked through it, high in the mountains practically touching the sky. It felt so strange being this far away from the depths of the ocean. "Look Cypress! I've been to the top of the world and to the bottom of the world!" That's what I said when I first passed through the mountains to get here in Pronta City. That was also the last time I smiled. Maybe somewhere along the way we took a wrong turn. People here were looking at me weird. Was it my clothes? Did I smell like fish? It made me uncomfortable. As I walked they didn't even try to get out of the way. I think even a few times they purposefully ran in to me. One guy even knocked me to the ground and stood over me, menacingly. From his position on my head Cypress was ready to strike. The blue glow signaling his building of energy washed over us. Thankfully the guy was too intimidated by the dragon skull about to unleash something to notice how fearful I was.
I need to deliver this thing and be on my merry way. I think it's making me nervous. Every time I meet someone's eyes I have to shy away, else they may somehow be able to pluck from my mind the secret that I carry. What an inconvenience it was for that guy to just go and die in front of me and hand me some magic gem and ask for help. "You could have said no." I frowned at that and shook my head. No, if there is one code to live by its never say no to people who randomly die near you and bequeath you with a quest. I held up the piece of paper where I scrawled the address on and squinted at it. "Where do you suppose this is? We've been up and down this district and I haven't seen it anywhere!" The hairs on the back of my neck rose to a stand. A chill ran down my body and I looked up. This woman was staring - no, glaring - at me. Burning blue eyes bearing down on me. Her hair was bound in a tight braid and fell alongside her. Armor gilded gold was bound to her body, and a sword was in her hand. "Naëal! Run!" The battle-ready woman brought her arm back and launched her blade at me. Cypress whipped my spear through the air, still having it coiled in his tail. The sword was slapped out of the air and I was already running. The heat behind me began to rise and I ducked my head just in time for a fireball to sail over it. Left, left, right, left, I turned in random directions as I fled at top speed. Looking behind me I failed to notice a man and I collided right in to him. I had been going fast enough to knock both of us clean on our bottoms. "Sorry! It's just that there are these people chasing me and I don't quite know why I swear I didn't do anything bad!" The words poured out of my mouth so quick it was as if my sentence was actually just one big word. There really was no time to explain because not only did the woman who attacked my enter the other end of the street I was on, but it seemed she brought three other friends. They were all so beautiful and terrible, blonde, tall, armored, and angry.

The water you are manipulating in its entirety retains that hardness, and the energy buffing the water lasts for four posts.
With the creature having dodged her strike, Alassea was continually turning her body, making sure to scan the area frequently to increase her chances of surviving the next attack. Though...it was frightening to her that this creature was able to move as stealthily as it did, despite her keener-than-normal senses. Knowing this, the elf put herself on high-alert, periodically shifting her position so that her opponent wouldn't just be aiming at a stationary target. It was then that she began to hear a very faint noise, akin to a whisper. When she turned in the direction of the noise, she was forced into immediate action; a multitude of knives was flying right at her, and they were already very close. Pulling an arrow from her quiver, the elf was ready to begin parrying the knives as they flew at her. Instead of knocking the arrow, Alassea decided instead to throw it like a knife, intending to knock away the first knife in the crowd when it reached about the five foot marker.
What she was greeted with, however, was an explosion. The merits of a skill unknown to her. The concussive force of the blast knocked her back off the building, forcing another hasty reaction with her grappling hook. As she fell, the elf had the idea to activate her Dawn Shroud, becoming nearly invisible as she ascended an adjacent building using her hook. When this was done, she slipped around one of the larger air conditioning units of the building. The loud noise coming from the machine, as well as her own controlled breath, would leave her nearly undetectable to the creature. Hopefully.
For now, she would wait. Obviously, her opponent was able to sneak up on her without much difficulty, so the best plan of action was to wait on this building, where most any attack it made would be within plain sight, as there were far less structures atop this building. With her outline, she would likely be able to use her counterattack before her foe would be able to completely detect her position. At the moment, this was the best she could do to set a trap.

• Mania - Dawn Their connection to Solonor enables them some unique abilities, triggered easily and continuously throughout battle.

Calanar grunted softly, feeling something collide with him with decent speed, nearly knocking the breathe from him as he stumbled backwards half a step before his vision shifted upwards slightly as he fell to the ground roughly; landing on his butt with a shocked look on his face. A split second later he inhaled sharply to fill his lungs for a moment before his eyes snapped downwards slightly, bringing his line of sight directly onto the person that collided with him. Which upon doing so he realized it was a rather beautiful looking woman that from her clothing and armor style he would hazard a guess that she was either a Mer or she just really liked their culture. His mind settled on her being a Mer the moment she began speaking in rushed Meritian to him, explaining that she was being chased for some reason and that she wasn't doing anything untoward for them to be chasing her. Grumbling softly to himself the dusk elf replied in Meritian to her, his voice and tone far more gruff than it normally would be, irritation coursing through his veins as he did so. "No worries about running into me, however I'd suggest we both get up and either kill those chasing you or start running, since from the looks on their faces they think I'm with you now." With that said Calanar would channel his energy into the ground beneath him, causing a small pillar of earth to push up underneath him, forcing him into a standing position instead of being on his a**.
Brushing his backside off quickly he reached out with his right hand towards the girl, offering his hand to help her stand. However this wasn't all he did, as he pulled his staff of earth off his back with his free hand. With staff in hand he channeled energy into the staff before tapping it down onto the ground, causing a large wall of flame to erupt from the earth near the entrance to the street that the three attackers were coming from. With that done he would hopefully pull the girl up to her feet, turning on his heel before breaking out into a slowish jog away from the wall; turning his head to look behind him out of the corner of his eye to see if they made it through the flame wall to chase after them. While doing this he would speak once more to the girl, again in Meritian; this time in a much less irritated tone. "Would you mind telling me why exactly they were chasing you? Because I highly doubt they'd bring three people to chase you for no reason at all, and while I don't mind helping someone in trouble, I dislike not knowing why exactly they're in trouble, especially if they may have accidentally pulled me into said trouble." With that said he would narrow his glowing crimson eyes on her, waiting for a reply while occasionally checking on the people after them.
• Dementia This ability allows them to store a tiny fraction of Justor's magic into their own body. The result is simple and yet very efficient. Not only are their casting times reduced by one post, but their spells are increased in size and range (and speed... slightly). This makes their magic harder to dodge, further solidifying them as the most efficient magic-users. The rate at which size/range are increased = add 1/3 of the base. So, 15 feet in length would become 20 feet in length. Speed is increased by about 1/5th, although this can become overwhelming if you constantly sling spells.
• Mania *Can be used at any time The Dark Elves may project their immediate conscious into the moonlight, and projecting your conscious into very nearby mana allows you to directly connect to Justor's energy. This allows for a wide-range of spells that are not possible with other bloodlines, simply in concept. Furthermore, these spells are all free of energy, as they use the mana nearby, not your own reserves.
These abilities, as listed: The Dance of Veils By projecting your magical conscious somewhere else, a very quick and easy process, you may warp to that location, similar to a teleport. Upon disappearing, your location is wrapped in a dusk-colored shroud, and re-appearing is animated by a bright white flash. Of course, this is a very useful spell, but it may only be done once every other post. You can only teleport up to twenty feet away. It should be noted that you only project your [magical conscious] here, meaning you don't go blank or lose concentration while using this.
The Scion of Justor In legend, it is told that Empress Cirstec - the first Dark Elf - was brought to a state of immortality and divinity by Justor. This ability conjures her influence in the mana rather than his, allowing for a unique spell. Cirstec will allow you to twist the light around you, making you invisible to the enemy's eyes. Those with good hearing/smell can still sense you, but many people will be unable. Casting or attacking ends this spell. This means all you can really do is walk and run. It's useful when cornered, as it's a very potent hiding skill. It's also useful when trying to use a surprise attack, although the technique will end the moment you begin the attack. The most common use of Cirstec's shroud is waiting for the cooldown on the Veil (teleportation) to come off, so that you may make distance between you and the target. The Veil will not end the shroud until it has already teleported you.
I Am Loved This is a legendary ability of the Dark Elves, only spoken of in stories for its heartwarming take on the relationship of Justor, Solonor, and their children. If a dark elf is to die, their light fading and their blood running cold, they may call upon their God and hope that he answers. Those with mark three and above can use this once in a real life year, though they will be ejected from the fight and teleported far away after being brought back to life. This will simply not work for someone with a lower marking.
• Detect Magic Passive The magus can detect magic. This means when others cast spells, or emanate high amounts of energy, you can see their aura. This also means you can detect magic in an area, meaning if an area has something magical about it, you can feel it. At expert rank, you can determine the source in an area. Each source of magic has a special signature, meaning a magus will be able to recognize the energy of a person if they are expert rank or higher.
• Chosen Element - Earth Passive The element that the Magus chooses to gains a substantial increase in potency, making them larger, more refined and generally easier to cast. They cannot change elements once they have chosen.
Technique Used:
• Wall of Flames - B-rank A caster can generate an entire wall of flames, 20 ft high and long, to act as a barrier between them and their targets. Or as a trap. However the caster really wants it. The walls are not very thick, though people have been thrown through these conjured flames and literally burned alive in that moment.
