Danny was about to open her mouth to make another joke when Shun started very poignantly dismissing her in the rudest, meanest way possible.
She stood up when he finished, not really sure why she was standing up, but knowing that it felt uncomfortable and queasy to stay sitting. Her hands twitched into balled fists, and she really wanted to punch Shun right in the face. But she reminded herself that he was a friend, and friends didn't punch friends unless friends asked to be punched.
"It was just a joke," she said quietly. "Sorry." She felt somewhat lost, and completely embarrassed by Shun's outburst, a hazy red painting her cheeks. No doubt everyone was looking at the twosome now, and since Danny was being the one scolded, even moreso for her. "Um I'll just ... I'm gonna go back to that one um ... the fish booth! Yeah ... um ah- bye." She scooted off in such a hurry that she didn't even remember to grab the enormous basket of food she'd bought.
Danny began walking away from the bench, but then realized that the scene might have hurt the poor bakers nearby. That, and she still wanted one of those cakes Elliot had mentioned. She stepped into the booth and said, "Can I take one of these to go? The coin cake thing? I'll pay double the price for being rude ... and stuff ... sorry." She set her bits on the ground and awkwardly shifted her weight from foot and foot. "And I'm kind of in a hurry- 'cause- aha, well you know."

Mitchell quickly and neatly wrapped up a coin cake and passed it over, but only took the priced three bits of the six offered. "Don't worry about it - emotions run high in a festival like this. It's not like you were brawling or anything - no harm, no foul. Don't forget the rest - " He nodded towards Danny's abandoned basket, still sitting over by the bench.

Brendan had been feeling a bit peckish, and the booth seemed to just pop up out of nowhere, offering all sorts of culinary confections that made his peckish stomach become a very grumpy and grumbly one. "Okay, okay, good Rose would you shut it." He chuckled to his stomach, patting it lightly as he walked up to the counter.
"Ah, hello there. You've bought flour from my store, haven't you? You look very familiar~" The mulberry hair man stated with a smile, looking among the treats. "Couldn't possibly discount me one of those lovely leek tarts and a coin cake, could you?"

Rikki looked conflicted for all of two seconds before he stood up as well. Shun was a big boy, he could deal with his s**t on his own, but Danny looked way more uncomfortable than he'd seen the entire time they'd been at this festival. "See you later," he said quietly to the other man, before walking quickly to where Danny stood at the booth with her basket of food in tow.
He came up by her shoulder and easily put down a few bits of his own. "I'll take a coin cake, too."
When he'd received it, he put it in Danny's basket with her other stuff and gently prodded her away from the booth. "Let's go catch some fish."

Mitchell smiled in recognition. "Yes, we do." He quickly wrapped the two items and slid them over, smiling conspirationally. "Just a copper mark for you -" he whispered, "- just don't let my sister hear about it, she's hoping we'll make enough profit for her to get more paints."

Even the bubbly Brianna sometimes knew when to keep her mouth shut. She completed the transaction quickly and wordlessly, then peered suspiciously at her brother. Why was he whispering with that man?

His words seemed to actually make it through to the flame haired girl. Shun kept a narrowed gaze set on her as she stood up as well. Huffing lightly, he glanced between the others, then turned to leave.

The storm was brewing, but surprisingly no one got physical. Just a spat of words, and angry huffing and hurt looks. That in its self Alec was in mid bite, his blue eyes wide as he watched the drama unfold. He felt bad in a way, Danny wasn't that bad she was just loud and energetic. Rikki at least was right there to comfort her which at least Alec was glad for. Blinking slowly he looked back at Elliot unsure what to say for a moment or two. Slowly he finished his cookie giving the other a bit of a small smile. "Thanks again Elliot, hopefully I'll see you around soon." He would have stayed and talked longer, but he was certain they would bum into each other soon enough as he'd indicated.

Giving Mitchell a wink and quickly changing the copper mark into the other man'a palm, Brendan gave an affable chuckle at their covert exchange. Black market pastries. "Paints, you say? I wish I could get those for you, Mitchell, a sort of I scratch your back you scratch mine sort of deal, but those are out of my buying circle." He whispered, noting Brianna's suspicious stare.
"Well, it was good to see you two again! Stop buy the shop again, and I'll set you up with an extra sack of potatoes!" He chirped, now audible enough for both of the Adams siblings.

Sometime later, Shun returned, looking over the stand. He still had those three bits from earlier.
"I'll take one of those coin cakes," he murmured while handing over the coin.

Brianna smiled, wrapping the dense coin cake carefully and passing it over in exchange for the bits. "Enjoy, and good luck!

Preacher stared at the booth with narrowed eyes. Was she feeling lucky enough? Maybe she should've rubbed Alec's red head a bit for good luck. Or something. But a silver mark was an awful lot.... And she'd seen Shun over here. So maybe it had a good enough chance. "'Lo, kin I get one o' those coin cakes?" With a grimace, she flipped over the precious three bits. But Preacher was hungry (as usual) and loved the occasional game of chance (also as usual). Maybe her teeth would click against the coin. In a strangely superstitious move, she crossed her fingers before accepting the little cake.

Brianna grinned in her usual cheerful way at the blue-haired girl. "Sure! Here you go!" In her typical clueless fashion, Brianna was oblivious to the state of the girl's clothes, and the other signs of just how much that three bits must mean to her.
