lMy life goes on in endless song
Above earth's lamentations,
I hear the real, though far-off hymn
That hails a new creation.
Through all the tumult and the strife
I hear it's music ringing,
It sounds an echo in my soul.
How can I keep from singing?

History: To say that Tabea grew up under the watchful eye of her father is to put it mildly. A more accurate description might be to say that he kept her imprisoned by his best intentions, trying his best to raise her in an environment totally sheltered from the dangers of the outside world. It was an effort that worked, to a degree -- she grew up suffering only the most expected of hardships, like a belly that was frequently empty or loneliness for want of friends.
Tabea's father was a grizzled old wolf full of ideas and advice. He was not, however, very forthcoming about his past, and so Tabs grew up with only the vaguest ideas of how she had come into this world and why her father was so vocal in his beliefs. Things she was taught from an early age: packs cannot be trusted; males cannot be trusted; no one does anything for free; you must do for yourself and never rely on anyone to help you. Sometimes these lessons were spelled out directly. Other times, they were relayed in the form of parables and more fanciful tales -- but they always had the same morals at the end.
Things she never knew: Why her father spoke only Velskan and refused to learn the common tongue; why they lived in solitude; where her mother might have gone; whether she had any siblings; or, really, anything about their history.
Her father took these secrets to the grave, leaving Tabea to put his advice into action at a relatively young age. His lessons were only halfway effective: She has certainly learned to be self-sufficient, but instead of a staunch avoidance of other wolves, she is deeply curious about them...and maybe a little eager to exploit them when she can get away with it.
Personality: Tabea is by turns confident and naive, kind yet mischievous. Driven by curiosity, she frequently gets closer to trouble than she probably should, but she has enough experience in getting herself back out that she often throws caution to the wind. She refuses to be tied down but will frequently latch onto situations that fulfill her needs for comfort and companionship, making the most of them until it's time to move on to the next adventure.

Bombazine had her eyes on the same wolf, so I semi-jokingly vowed to give her first dibs at plotting. Somehow, in my quest to create the perfect lady-love for Casimir, I landed here. I don't understand how my brain works, either.
