An older man quietly observed the raucous crowds. His hands were calloused and thin lines wore on his face, but his military uniform was neatly pressed and he stood with straightened shoulders. Always on the lookout for trouble, but with the festivities going on, they were a bit short on good hands. So when he saw a group of four people gathering, it caught his attention. "Hey, what's going on here?" The man bellowed out, grabbing two of the fighters by the back of their collars and jerking them apart with surprising strength. "Looking to cause trouble in public on a day of festivities, are ye?"

For a moment, Rikki tried to grab at Danny's hands to get her to stop, but then Shun's leg swept at his own and all bets were off. "Would you stop?" He shouted angrily. He pulled his fist back and went to hit him, but then he was tugged back by his collar.
His eyes went wide and he twisted to see the soldier holding him over his shoulder, but he pressed his lips into a thin line. He wasn't going to be the first to open his mouth, no sir.

Shun was ready to continue to attack when he was suddenly yanked back by his collar. Gritting his teeth, he stared hard at the soldier that had jumped in to stop this fight from going on further. Right. Of course they would be around right now. All he did was scoff lightly, not replying otherwise. He didn't try to struggle away. Not yet, anyway.

Yet Danny was happy to be the one to open her mouth.
"Yeah! He said he wanted to see me try to hit him, so I hit him and then we all started hitting each other! It was fun!" she gave the older man a bright grin, but it very slowly faded into a frown as she realized she might be getting in trouble.
Uh oh. "Uh ... I mean ... no we didn't mean trouble 'n stuff." Kind of a weak testimony at this point. You tried Danny.

As Cyril listened to what the girl said he wondered what was even going through her mind. He then gave the man a cold stare and replied with a simple "no sir." Hoping the man would leave.

The soldier frowned, but was quietly pleased that they didn't resist any further. He appreciated the respect--or rather at least the sensibility--that the group showed. It was only natural for young ones like these to have so much energy, but without a focus, all they were doing was causing a brawl. That was no way to live a civilized life. With his keen eyes, he glanced over them, wondering at their potential. He couldn't give his recommendation for all of them, but if it was just one, perhaps it could make at least a little difference.. (alphabetical order) The soldier caught the eyes of the one gritting his teeth, a scar evidence of some history at least. Those were the eyes of a survivor. And dangerous, if left alone. "Hey kid," He pulled the 20-something year old fighter aside, throwing what he knew would be an unwelcome arm across the boy's shoulders, "Why don't you find something better to do than throwing fists at people eh? Put your instincts to use, boy. Why don't you try a titan on for size?" His words might have sounded derogatory and perhaps sarcastic, but his facial expression was perfectly calm and serious. He shoved a small stack of papers in Shun's arms, and gave him a slap on the back, "Fill those out and turn them in to headquarters if you want to do something with your life." Turning back to the group, the soldier gave a stern look of warning, "You kids behave yourselves. Next time you won't get a warning." ((Congratulations Blade, you've won a semi-custom! To confirm, it's the character Shun you want? You also do not have to use this event as your character's recruitment story if you had some other history in mind))

Danny leaned over Shun's shoulders, peering at the papers. "Yeah yeah," she said, shrugging off the older man. She'd already grown bored with him now that Shun had new toys to play with.
"You even interested in the military? I heard people die like all the time." She turned to the others. "You guys?"

Shun's attention shifted towards Danny as she blabbed out words that really wasn't helping their cause right about now. He couldn't help but bring a hand up to his face, really. She at least double backed some, but still. That was pretty bad. As the older man suspected, he didn't care for the arm being thrown around his shoulder. He tensed up while resisting the urge to elbow the guy to get away. Then, he spoke again. For a moment, he thought the soldier was mocking him. Though he caught the look on his face, and he soon had a stack of papers shoved into his arms. He was both stunned and baffled right about now. Yes, he had actually been considering something like this but he had never expected anything like this to happen. The anger and frustration he felt was quickly diffused for the time being as he considered this. Looking down at the papers, he quickly realized there was one... obstacle he was going to need to overcome first and foremost. "s**t..." he uttered under his breath. Blinking, he looked up at Danny and lightly frowned. "People die all the time in the city too. Maybe not quite as often but..." he shrugged. Lady Mist Aaaaaah! Thank you! And yes, it's Shun. =D

While there had been some commotion, Alec wasn't exactly keen on throwing himself at anyone if it meant leading to a fist fight. That was the last thing he needed. The festival however was tempting, and after slipping away from his afternoon chores he went to take a look. While he found himself investigatingthe source of the noise and commotion, it seemed to quickly resolve its self at least. "My tempers are running high.." he spoke quietly, more to himself rubbing the back of his head sheepishly.

Fixing his hair that had been messed up from jumping into the fight Cyril
turned to the girl and the scarred man. "It's a an opportunity I wouldn't turn down.
Take it." As he finishes fixing his hair
that nobody else can notice what the difference is.

Fortunately, Kiyoshi didn't seem to mind the close proximity at which Cecilia was leaning towards him; it was the logical thing to do, in a place this crowded and noisy. He did, however, feel taken aback at the stranger's friendliness since he would never just... Walk up to a stranger and talk to them.
Not that he believed them all to be robbers and kidnappers and murderers; he was pretty sure his sister only said that to scare him.
"I am not," He answered curtly, looking down at himself before addressing her again, "Do I look very out of place here?"

Invading personal spaces was one of Cecilia's talents. She was very good at it, though the fact that she was blatantly oblivious to the discomfort of others probably had something to do with it. If she realized that she had surprised him with her sudden greeting, she didn't acknowledge it--or tone it down, for that matter.
"No, not particularly!" She chirped, reaching up to pat his shoulder without really even thinking about it, "I mean, maybe you look a little lost...? If you need any help, I'm a local! Born and raised Shinganshina-er!"
Puffing her chest up, she beamed up at him for a good second or two before relaxing again, giving an airy wave of her hand. "And it'll be my good deed for the day! I like to help people." Because that was what a proper heroine would do.

Rikki looked a little baffled as they were let off the hook. Did that really...? Did he really...?
He pointed at the papers in Shun's hands. "Are those really recruitment papers? What the hell man, I want recruitment papers." He nodded in answer to Danny's question and crossed his arms. "So you're going to fill them out? Roll out of a fight and right into the military?"

It was alright because Kiyoshi would had been just as oblivious about it as Cecilia was... And he didn't feel the need for her to back off despite the suddenness of her greeting.
"I look a little lost? What does lost look like?" He asked, brow furrowing ever so slightly; he would try his best not to look so lost in case he really does attract some unsavory strangers... For now, he was grateful to the girl for her offer.
"I would appreciate that," He nodded, "In truth, I came with my elder sister, but we lost each other in the crowd... She's been here before though, so I'm sure she's doing fine." He's doing fine too, of course.
"Oh, do you? Today, you've helped Kiyoshi Yamada-" He gestured briefly at himself with one hand, "Who do I have to thank for the assistance?"
He was smiling, but rather than smiling at her, he seemed to be smiling to himself, secretly pleased because he quoted that sentence out of a story book. Sure, it was a princess in distress who said that to the prince who rescued her from a rampaging titan, but... In this case, he was the one in distress?

"Lost looks like this," She told him, screwing her face up in a dramatic exaggeration of what "this" was, her expression smoothing out a moment later, "And is that so? I came with my big brother, but he ditched me to go find the girl he fancies."
Despite her use of words, it was clear that she was not at all upset to have been left alone. On the contrary, if the bright look in her eyes was of any indication, she was actually pretty darn excited. It wasn't often that her parents or older brothers let her off the leash.
...Usually for good reason, though.
While she wasn't sure whether Kiyoshi had done so intentionally or not, a look of delight spread over the girl's face at his greeting. It sounded just like a line from a story she was familiar with--a fairy tale! You know, it was all formal-like instead of a generic "thanks for the help" like she had been expecting. Squaring her shoulders and standing up a little taller, Cecilia bowed at the waist.
...A little extravagant maybe, but again, it was what a real hero(ine) would do. "Cecilia Allegri, at your service! I will do everything in my power to protect--er, to make sure that you get a proper tour!"
