Other Family: He has half-siblings. They are unlikely to acknowledge him.
Personality: Under ordinary circumstances, Coriole is inclined to keep his own company. That doesn't mean he's unapproachable; far from it, he is happy to talk with others, equally as willing to listen as to share, comfort or advise. He's just not often the one who will start the conversation. He prefers to observe first, get the lay of the land before involving himself in anything. It's a matter of self-preservation and self-defense, learned from his earliest memories as the unwelcome product of a willful indiscretion.
Though he won't turn away a stranger for a simple conversation, don't expect him to spill out his life story at a first meeting, or to trust you with matters close to his heart until he's known you for a while. He has been fooled too often by those claiming to be friends to play that particular fool's role again. This means he may question your intentions for a while. Prove yourself trustworthy, and those walls of his will come down.
To varying degrees. An acquaintance might get his support if needed. A friend will get his loyalty. Those close to him will find him a staunch defender and a faithful confidant. Those he dislikes will find him steadfast in his determination to oppose them. He's not the confrontational sort. He will not start the fight, but he will dive into the heart of one already churning, and he'll see it through to the end.
He wants to have foals of his own one day, but could be content to simply fill a role in another herd. He has not found a herd or a mare that suits him or appeals, but there's time. There are more important things to be done first.
History: In the grand scheme of things, Coriole probably shouldn't have happened. Without question, there are those who would prefer he didn't, but his mother was persistent and very fond of a stallion in her herd. Not the leader of the herd, however, though of course she was fond of him as well. A deliberate indiscretion with Lorue, on of the herd guards, led to Coriole's birth. Judging by color and confirmation, his lineage was clear and were it not for the fact that Ecasti, his mother, was the alpha mare, he surely would have been chased out and left to die.
She protected him fiercely, however, and raised him proudly as her son. Her protection couldn't shield him from the looks and comments, nor from the herd leader's temper, but it did give him time to grow and learn to stand on his own.
At three, however, it was made clear to him that tolerance for his presence was wearing thin and it would be best if he moved on to greener pastures, so to speak. He bid his mother and his father goodbye and left for Dorrala, which had been rumored to be the center of all things. He had no relatives in that village, no reputation to overcome and a new place to live up to his potential. He has been in the village ever since, a quiet observer, a stallion willing to lend aid if and when it's needed. With time and luck, he will find his true herd at last.
