Ahh...
Mommy was making the same face Daddy was when the last group of bandits attacked. Mommy was going to go somewhere far away, just like Daddy was, wasn't she?

With his determination back, Tucker swings his sturdy tree branch at the bandit doing 2(2)+4-2+1-3= 4 damage.
Thus leaving the barbarian with 7HP.

NPC Phase "A-Ah....! ..Timmy... be safe... please..." Sarah falls to the ground, the crystal of her stave shattering as it crashes against the cobblestone. "...No... Sarah..." The elder turns to the three young villagers. "...Forgive me. I underestimated you... From here on, we'll fight them together." The elder directs his spear at the barbarian that killed Sarah and attacks him, doing 6+5-1-3= 7 damage and felling the barbarian.

Move out, on the double!  Felix froze in place, witnessing Sarah's body drop to the floor. A hand was held out to beckon Issac to stay where he was, not wanting him to see the scene as he stepped forward to join the rest in protecting the elder.

Timmy watched Mommy fall to the ground, right before his eyes. Mommy wasn't dead, right? Mommy was just sleeping, right? Right? Come on, someone confirm this for him!
But no one did.
So Mommy was dead.

Tucker moved over to space 16 with Felix and the elder.
Sarah's death weighed heavily on his shoulders. They could have saved her. If he hadn't run, Timmy wouldn't be an orphan right now... If only... Tucker tried to shake the depressing thoughts from his head. "Elder, please try to find a way to heal yourself. Maybe go to the shop and trade your bullion for a vulnerary or something."
He attacked the extremely weak barbarian with his tree branch doing 4+4+1-2-3= 4 damage thus killing the enemy.

The swordmaster laughs as he comes into sight on space 22. " What is this... they seriously couldn't handle an old man and some kids?" He eyes beside them. " Well, least they got some of 'em... and they least knew how t'gut a wench right..." He stares at the remaining villagers and smirks. " You all look ready to go... tell you what. Come on. Give me your best." He raises his hands into air and holds them behind his head, his sword still sheathed. " I won't even make a move. Show me what you've got..."

NPC Phase "Too late for that, I'm afraid..." the elder said, as the swordmaster walked out of the darkness. "Maybe you can find use for it..." He trades over his Bullion to Tucker, instilling the optimism that at least they can still survive. The elder glares at the swordsman. "...I don't think there's any escape, lads. But he's one man... if we can strike together, then maybe... we have no other choice... together! Strike!" The elder darts forward and does a fake out where he acts like he's about to thrust, but then spins around and thrusts for real at the swordmaster, doing 10+5+1-15= 1 damage.
