After warping to his Closet, Xashowd began wandering the halls for a sign of the source of the Grunnies. After a few hours, a rank stench permeated the air, and Xashowd recoiled from it. "****, that's nasty..." Xashowd said aloud. He kept walking and found that it got stronger in the direction he was heading. Taking small, measured whiffs, he noticed the scent of decaying blood, madness, and...Was that Grunny fur?

Xashowd sped forward, thinking hew may have found the source of the problem. He scanned the area as he ran, and while there were some Grunnies here and there, few gave chase, and those that did were left in the dust. It seemed these Grunnies recognized the difference between their top speed and his current speed. Xashowd thanked himself for that, but realized that a fight might lay in store where he was headed.

Soon enough, he reached a stairwell...heading downward. Damn...I can Warp to my Markers, but if I find something alive down here and need to bring it back, the Grunnies could be an issue... Xashowd noticed there still weren't many Grunnies, but the stench was immense here. He proceeded downward, deciding to float on the wind so as to make less noise, and found the Basement Door, still open. The scent was so intense Xashowd had to cover his nose for fear of getting sick. Blood he had no problem with, but the decay and Grunny scents mixed in made it a putrid amalgam that made him want to retch. This is it...it has to be. Xashowd walked inside...

And found multiple beady eyes suddenly staring at him.

Xashowd pulled out his Scythe and prepared for anything. One Grunny, bolder and apparently hungrier than the rest, leaped at him with sharp teeth bared. Xashowd cleaved it in half with one swing, the bisected bunny falling to the floor with a plop. Multiple Grunnies bared their teeth and hissed at him, but no others made a move. Xashowd wanted to explore further in, but the horde of Grunnies was in the way. The Grunnies looked like they wanted something to feed on, but something was keeping them at bay. The stalemate went on for a few minutes, then a Grunny started crawling up to Xashowd, sniffing at him the whole way. Xashowd raised his Scythe in preparation to swing, but hit a shelf of some kind on the way up. A very sharp shelf.

Dammit! Xashowd swore as bladed instruments fell all around him, one of them slicing his arm. As his blood flowed from the wound, Xashowd expected the horde to fall on him all at once, and prepared to Warp out of there, but something unexpected happened.

All at once, the Grunnies recoiled in disgust from the knife that had sliced him, and those closest to him made discernible effort to get away. Their noses crinkled in disgust, as though they smelled something they didn't like. Curious, Xashowd took off his left glove with his mouth, ran his hand over the wound, and flicked some of his blood at the Grunnies. The reaction was immediate, as any Grunny hit by the droplets went into a frenzy trying to get it off, and those that weren't hit backed away from those that were.

What the heck...I thought Grunnies went after anything living? Xashowd pondered as his wound began to close, his Vampiric healing speeding up the recovery process. Then it hit him.

They went after anything living. Xashowd was a Vampire, and though he was a daywalker, he was still a Vampire in every other way. Including the Undead part. The Gunnies must not like undead blood, and as the Grunnies recognized what he was, they parted for him when he came close.

Well, most of them. Xashowd noticed some of the hungrier or starving Grunnies would leap at him, regardless of what he was, and he had to cut them down. Just like any starving animal, they'd go after him whether they liked his blood or not. It seemed most of the Grunnies here weren't hungry, so Xashowd was able to explore the basement at his leisure. He noticed a few nests here and there, and saw a few baby Grunnies among them. It seemed the Grunnies had been breeding, explaining the smell, though the period of breeding was nearing the end point from what he could tell. Aside from the various Grunnies on the floor, Xashowd noticed this basement had an inhabitant other than the mutated rabbits. There were signs someone had lived here recently, including a bed, numerous sharp objects like the knives Xashowd had accidentally bumped into, and various articles of clothing. Xashowd looked around at the horde, and saw some of the Hungrier Grunnies were eyeing him venomously. One of the Grunnies his blood had landed on was being torn apart by its starving fellows, proving a hungry rabbit will eat anything. Nervous about staying here much longer, Xashowd warped back to his closet. He hadn't found anything of use, but he'd found the source...and an unexpected boon to being a Vampire, though starving Grunnies would still be a problem. He took a short rest in his Closet, mulling over what he'd learned...and wishing he'd taken the time to shut the basement door.

*TL;DR: Xashowd explores, finds basement, discovers grunnies, discovers grunnies don't like Vampire blood unless they're starving, sees signs of someone having lived down there, and warps out before things can get hectic. Apologies for the massive wall of text!*

-She followed Minty down the stairs, letting her punt what came within kicking distance, while she boxed up any that tried to come in at a higher vantage point. Her ears twitched at the squelching noise, but she ignored it for now, instead looking for good spots to aim the bigger boxes.-

Lemme get their attention firs' then ya can go for it.

-Once they were down the stairs she slipped in front. Oh sweet Lady. Grunnies. Grunnies, grunnies, an' more grunnies everywhere! An' she thought the Chatter and kitchen were bad!-

-She boxed another grunny, lettin' the box roll away on its down thanks to the grunny's own momentum, then focused on a pack that seemed to be eyein' them. She grinned, and a moment later, there was her box large enough to hold good ol' Fafnir skiddin' towards them, same as when the cage caught Monster. It wrapped itself up in a nice bow, too filled with grunnies to go anywhere-

-Gestures to the box as more grunnies come from other corners, her batting staff and giftboxes at the ready to defend the woman-

Lady Luck's boxing ability was amazing, and useful.

"You're a life saver!" Minty scurried over to the main fusebox, shining the flashlight on the panel, none of the circuits seemed to have tripped, but an emergency led was blinking in the display, showing something had gone wrong in Prince's thread. She shut down the power, "Looks like something went wrong in Prince's room. I shut the power down from here so we don't fry ourselves fixing whatever it is, but we're gonna have to repair whatever happened there, then come back here to turn the power on."

Gotcha!

-She sent out a few more small boxes when some grunnies got to close, then punted them into a big box that was wrappin' itself up. GOAL!-

Think Xashowd'll be done 'ere by the time we get back? Or shoul' I leave a hoppin' gift for him at the door?

*Alrighty, maybe make a few changes to the beginning depending on what happens. Sorry again for the Wall Of Text...I hope it was at least a good read, considering I pulled it out of my head as I went along.*

*Option A sounds good, just make sure to leave enough Grunnies so that Xashowd still has his work cut out for him. I'll make a few adjustments to the first few paragraphs based on what happens.*
