"Peyton! Hi," InvisibleDog said, brightening immediately at the confirmation that he knew her and that this was indeed someone he liked. She got a slightly goofy smile. "Guess who," he said, playfully.

Oh look! A nibble.

The goofy smile was returned, and the dainty gryph was peeking up at the name above Dog's head again. "Mmmmm." That single eye narrowed, and she parted from Phoenix' side so she could move around the table and look up at the him. The purple hair was throwing her off, but she was pretty sure she knew that smile. "Is it someone I went to New York with?" A small hand came up between them, palm up.

The smile widened. "You got it," InvisibleDog replied. "I don't have a prize for you though. Sorry ... "

The grin grew, then she was reaching up to wrap fingers into his furry cloak so she could pull him down to her level. "I wouldn't say that," she teased softly, then stole a kiss, quick but firm, and let him go so she could lean into his side.

Things just kept getting better!

Okay, so maybe that had been half a suggestion, but it had worked, and InvisibleDog was not at all averse to providing the "prize." He put his arm around her, pleased, and asked, "How're you doing so far?"

The blush didn't go away, and he didn't quite look at the other people at the table, because he kind of suspected he knew them, but he was okay with that, not really embarrassed or anything. This was just -- new.

It had worked, and had they not been standing in a tavern full of people that may or may not know she'd have given more then a quick peck, but she, like him, had pulled back from the kiss with cheeks rosy. There was, however, a certain smugness about her smile as his arm came around her, and she returned the gesture by loop her own arm around his hips. "So far so good, Talked to some trees, found a fragment, wandered past a weird lake." She gave a oh, you know sort of shrug.

"How about you?" Did everyone start in the same place? The question had her glancing around towards the table filled with maybe hunters until coming around to rest on Phoenix. "And you, too." She hadn't gotten very far yet, but maybe one of them had?

"Yeah. I did those quests too," InvisibleDog agreed. "I think I met the Cheshire Cat. Uh, not like, not like him," and he nodded towards the still-very-drunk cat-angel at the table, "I mean like the character. At least, I talked to a smile, and it vanished after."

He sipped absently from the cup of invisible mead that he still held. It was sweet and strong, and the burn of alcohol didn't hit until after he'd swallowed. He blinked rapidly as a wave of pleasant fuzziness swept into his head, and said, intelligently, "Whoa."

Phoenix shot Slain a concerned look as he passed but didn't say anything. He'd get down to work once he realized that this probably was work and then he'd definitely...definitely leave off these insta-drunk drinks. She rubbed soothing circles on Divinity's back, and grinned broadly as the Hottie and the InvisiPuppy acted like the cutest ******** ever.

Turning to mister angel cat, she stage whispered, "Puppy love, I bet they're even cuter with this s**t in real life. Are you feelin' any better, hon? I'm gonna get out of here for a bit, there's someone I need to find."

The drink wore off, meandering to nothing and Divinity was left washed up on the shores of sobriety as his thoughts fell solidly back into place. Iron certainty slithered through blurry synapses and the world drew back into focus. There was a moment where he was forced to stare blankly ahead as he recounted the last few minutes, what was said, what he had said and distilled whether he still had a leg to stand on from the haze. Embarrassment did not occur to him, simply the good fortune he had not said anything incriminating that he could not wave away as an effect of the alcohol.

His senses were full of America and even the contact against his back drew his composure back together again. He might as well have been once again using Butch's charge for all the strength he pulled from just her touch. He nodded. "I am. Yeah." he said, finally remembering which persona he was presently inhabiting. He had erratically leapt through various ones in his inebriation. He had been watching InvisibleDog and Hottie through the haze earlier and at least was able to hazard what she meant, though he did not even begin to comprehend "cute". "Yeah, I wouldn't doubt. And thanks, I'm sorry about that, I can normally hold my drink. No more for me. Heh."

Leaving. She was leaving. Phoenix, he noted. This was a game but his intentions were never a game. He intended to find her again and weren't games notorious for how simple it was to purse people?

He gave her a rakish smile, amusement dancing in his light eyes. "Hopefully next time we run into each other I don't make a fool of myself. Really nice meeting you.. Phoenix."

He had to be careful not to call her Missy.

The gryphon reached up and mussed his hair, "An adorable fool, at least. I'll be seein' ya!" With a wave and a loud, "Gotta see a thing about a man, back in a bit!" Phoenix exited the tavern.

Shoving the door open with both hands, a tiny gryphon walked in, looking around for a stool he could jump into. Luckily, all stools here worked when you stood on them.

Marchin his way forward, he jumped up and stood on a stool, leaning on the counter and tipping his hat up to look around at any fresh meat worth gawking at.

HotLovin69 had just entered and was looking for a good time.

Hots passed a quick glance over Divinity, nose wrinkling slighting in what may have been amusement. "I'm pretty sure I saw him too, up in a tree. He talked to me then disappeared." It had been pretty neat, actually. Like how she imagined it might be luck to casually run into someone you knew from TV or music and having them offer a bit of advice before wandering off again. Having never experienced such a thing she had no way to tell, but she figured it was probably similar.

Phoenix was shot a pleased grin, tanned cheeks darkening just a hint before the Dog's exclamation drew her attention back up to him. "Hmm?" She eyed tankard in his hand curiously. "What's that?"

A temporary distraction from the mead came as the other gryph announced she was leaving, and she looked up with a small, automatic frown that lasted all of five seconds before it faded and she offered a wave. Hopefully it wouldn't be terribly hard to meet back up again. In the meantime that left the fiery little blonde with one known associate and a table full of possible allies. Divinity was given another curious glance, but he hadn't offered up his name when she'd given her's, and she wasn't about to press him.

So she looked back up at Dog and his tankard of mead, brows arched curiously. "Is it good?"

InvisibleDog was pretty sure he knew who Phoenix was; he hadn't been around her much, but she was loud and distinctive and he knew she was Peyton's friend. "See you later," he said tentatively as she departed.

"It's-s invisible mead," he explained. "I figured, since, you know," and he glanced up at the username hovering over his head. He was blinking more than usual, he thought. He showed Pckt the apparently-empty cup. "Do you want to try? It's, it's heavier than it looks, there really is stuff in it."
PostPosted: Sat Mar 22, 2014 4:28 pm

Divinity stared after Phoenix for a long time after she left and made no move to fix his hair.

It took him some time to finally look over the others, most of whom were still an absolute mystery to him. He flicked his cat tail and seemed to turn his attention to observing Peyton and Dog.

"So you guys are an item?" he asked.

"Invisible mead," she echoed, brows rising ever higher, first at him, and then the cup he held down for her to see. It did indeed look empty, and lips pursed thoughtfully as she reached up for it. "Sure." It was heavier than it looked, and the contents that weren't visible did feel like liquid. It was the oddest ******** thing, but considering everything else so far, she supposed it fit their surroundings rather nicely.

"I've been told," she informed him with a sly little grin. "That I hold my liquor well." A chuckle, then she was lifting the tankard up for a drink. It was sweet, she could feel it on her lips, over her tongue, and down her throat, but there was still nothing to see, and if she hadn't been tipping the mug slowly it would have sloshed all over her. Curiouser and curiouser.

Then the bite hit, and she gave a soft little gasp followed by a light giggle and the buzz followed immediately. It reminded her of being back in Taym's room when she'd been hurt, sharing whiskey. That same fuzzy feeling hit her now, but it had only taken one drink, opposed to the multiple shots she had taken then. "Whoa is right." Another giggle, followed by another, smaller, sip. "Good though." Wisely, she offered it back up to the doormouse she was leaning against.
