Normally the guards would have protested and insisted that she be held some place where she couldn't harm others but this was the Prince giving them orders. They did as they were told and released Lynora but she remained on the ground and continued to cry. She knew the Prince was at her side now but she was still unsure of whether he should be trusted. For the first time Lynora was alone and she was scared.

Althalos moved to Lynora's side and grasped her arm, ready to help her up if need be. "Are you that desperate to return home? I already told you I would try to find it for you," he said, though he doubted it would do anything to calm her down. He had never heard of the place she had told him about and he wondered if it even existed. What would happen if it didn't?

Lynora looked up at the Prince as he took her arm and used him to help her stand up, rubbing the tears from her eyes. "Yes...I am. I've never been on my own like this before and I don't know where I am...or when I am for that matter." she said softly, trying to calm herself down. "D-Do you have a map I could look at? Maybe I can find my home if I look at one."

Althalos sighed. "Come with me. I'll show you all the maps you need," he said as he lead her to his study. "Tell me what happened. What do you last remember before you arrived here?" If Lynora's strange clothes were of any indication, she must have come from a place undiscovered and her behavior showed that her travels weren't natural. Perhaps her recent memories may help piece together the problem.

Lynora had to think about this for a minute or two, she just got here a few hours ago but already the memory of how she got here was starting to fade. "Hmm...I remember going on a field trip to the museum. And I saw this really pretty necklace on display. It had a lot of different colored stones and the center stone started to glow really bright. I started to disappear from the museum and...the next thing I knew I was in the woods."

"You appear to have encountered a cursed item. You didn't touch it?" Althalos asked as he opened the door to the study. "Were you the only one sent here? If the necklace was what caused you to come here, it would be difficult to find a way back." He led her to the collection of maps and handed a few to her. "See if you can locate your home with these. With luck, it should be nearby."

Now Lynora was confused. "Cursed? No silly, this is the real world I'm talking about. There's no such thing as magic or curses where I come from." she almost laughed in his face at such a remark. "As far as I know I was the only one sent here." she said softly as she looked down at the maps but she didn't recognize anything! "Where are the neighborhoods? And the highways?" She asked, though it was more of a question she was asking herself, it didn't warrant an answer from the Prince. Lynora took a step back from the maps and gave a soft sigh. "I don't see my home anywhere on these maps.....I'm not even sure where I showed up at, I don't really know how to read maps that well." It was hopeless, she was stuck here and there was nothing she could do.

Althalos raised an eyebrow. So Lynora did not seem to come from anywhere. "Once again, you have strange terms. Perhaps the name of your home is in another listed here," he offered, reading the maps for the street the girl had mentioned. It was nowhere. "This is odd. Perhaps it is simply an undiscovered land you come from. No need to panic just yet."

Lynora needed to find some place to sit down, sure the Prince was cool as a cucumber, he was trained to be calm in stressful situations like these! But it was starting to look more bleak everywhere she turned. Then something occurred to her: a new place she had never been to before, everyone dressed like a renaissance fair, kings and princes... "U-um...Mr. Prince...Sir....Um what year is this?" She asked hesitantly.

Althalos paused in his reading. "15XX, I believe," he answered before going back to the maps. "A particularly prosperous year, if I say so myself. He closed the maps and turned to Lynora with an apologetic expression. "It appears that I can't find your home. Have you been telling me the truth?"

It was all starting to make sense now, except the necklace, she wasn't quite sure how that fit into everything. "Oh no....no no no no no no.....This can't be happening..." she said nervously as she began to pace back and forth. "I don't think I belong here...somehow that necklace shot me back in time!! IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE 2014 FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!" she said hysterically as she continued to pace nervously.

Althalos grew annoyed and grabbed her shoulders, halting her in her tracks. "What are you spouting now? You have been speaking nonsense since we met. One would think you mad from the start!" All Lynora ever seemed to do was panic or express some odd denial that even a fool did not dare say.

Lynora calmed down a little as the Prince grabbed her shoulders. "Okay....I know how this sounds but that necklace must have sent me back in time! The home I'm used to is in the year 2014." she took a small pause but she could see the expression in the Prince's eyes. "Yeah you're right, that does sound crazy.." she muttered softly. There was one way she could prove what she was saying. She wiggled out of the Prince's grip and turned around so she could reach into her cleavage, pulling out a slightly worn picture of her and her family in front of their house. "This is my family." she said softly, showing the Prince her picture.

Althalos took and studied the picture, noticing the other members of Lynora's family wore clothes just as odd as her own. Very simplistic yet they clearly weren't poor. The house was also strange, as it did not appear to be made of stone or clay or even straw. It was as if the colors themselves solidified to form a structure. The oddest part of the picture was how real the people and the house looked. This clearly wasn't an ordinary painting, if a painting at all. However, considering the girl's confusion and lack of knowledge about magic, as well as her indignation to the idea of being related to a witch, she herself could not immediately be affiliated with one. "I suppose this explains your odd vocabulary. It is as if you came from a completely different world," he said as he handed the picture back. "2014? From what I see of your picture, many will change in the next few centuries. Well, the way I see it, magic brought you here and only magic can bring you back."

Lynora's heart could have soared at the information she just heard, she half expected him to think she was a witch too! "Do you really think so??" she asked and began to squeal at the answer she was given. "Oh my goodness that's such good news!!! How long do you think it will take to find someone to send me home?" The way she understood this world, those who practiced magic were either feared or it was against social custom. Surely they wouldn't find just anyone to help with this task.
