"H-hey!" She opened her eyes. That was a good sign, wasn't it? So why wouldn't Helmut acknowledge him?
Li Shou temporarily pulled back when the wendigo let out a groan and moved. Well. Okay. "Tch. Hold still." The boil grabbed ahold of her head and focused on draining her heat. It would probably be a lot easier if he just... Picked her up and held her, but she was a ghoul and ghouls were gross and there would be absolutely none of that here.

Little by little, the overwhelming heat in her core subsided. Between the cool ground and the hands on her head, she began to feel better. Enough to not feel like she needed to puke, which was always a plus. Eventually she tried to sit up, and once she managed to accomplish that much, she slouched heavily and looked around. Her gaze went past Shoebox once, twice, and finally stopped on him, squinting at him in still somewhat ill confusion.
"You...helped me?"

Once Helmut sat up, Li Shou pulled his hands away and started shaking them to get rid of the excess heat he had just taken on. Jeez, even he felt a little dizzy after that one.
Though, he froze when the ghoul posed such a strange question to him. "... Y-yeah? So what?" Trying to regain some of his aloof demeanor back, he folded his arms across his chest and looked away. "Not because I like you or anything, but I wouldn't just leave somebody there."
Nah, he actually would. If it had been someone he didn't know, chances were he would've just walked away and pretended like he hadn't seen a thing. Li Shou might've held Helmut to a slightly higher standard.
Just slightly, though. "Don't think too much of it or anything."

"That was...really nice of you." She breathed out, still surprised - and still quite dizzy and lightheaded - at the turn in events. Helmut was even too out of it to tell him off, or announce that she didn't like him either. Instead she blinked stupidly, and then tried to get to her feet.
"I wanna go home." She announced sluggishly, unhappy now and only because she had let herself get overheated over something stupid. Unfortunately, her words and her body seemed to have a great disconnect, for despite all her efforts to stand she wasn't actually getting anywhere, but she was at least down on one knee which was a decided improvement.

"Yeah. I'm pretty cool I guess." He looked away, cheeks either flushed from the heat he'd just taken or embarrassment. Or both.
Only when she started moving did the cat boil look back, raising an eyebrow. "Well. Bye then." Li Shou hopped to his feet and turned to walk away.
Yes, he was really going to walk away without offering to help. Still a douche.

Li shou was walking away. Why was he walking away?
"N-no! Come back!" The ghoul whined, trying desperately to get to her own feet to move after him. "Y-you have to help me get home!" She whimpered, finally getting to her feet and staying there with the help of a nearby decorative rock.

Li Shou glanced over his shoulder before turning back and folding his arms in front of his chest. "I don't have to do anything." His nose pointed upward as he huffed.
"Why should I help anyways? It's not like you won't be fine in a little while." Or a long while. You never know.

"Because..." Helmut started, unsure. She didn't want his help, not really, but he was her only way of getting home fast enough to make her feel better. "B-because..." She was drawing a blank. She wanted the help so badly, but couldn't think straight enough to provide a good answer. It was around that time she started to feel the familiar well of despair in her chest, and she felt moments away from bursting into tears.
"I...I'll keep Mao-Mao if you don't!" She cried out. If he didn't help her now, she would never let him into her room to get his cat back. She'd just cling to it and cry.

When Helmut couldn't immediately give a reason, Li Shou smirked his cocky smirk and prepared himself for a gloat and a retreat.
Until Mao-Mao was mentioned, that is.
Mother of Jack she was good.
"FINE." He groaned, marching over to grab her arm and sling it over his shoulder. "You're not going to make me dress you too, are you?"

Helmut flinched at the loud groan, wondering if perhaps she had crossed a line - thankfully though, it was getting her what she wanted from him.
"NO~" The ghoul cried as if appalled by the very idea. "I can do it! I just...w-want my stuff..." Her clothes were important, but her helmet was worth more to her than anything she ever possessed. With Li Shou's help she got to the changing rooms, and after shooing him away she struggled to get into her own clothing, and there she stayed, waiting for the cat sidhe to come back for her.
She was sure he would, with Mao-Mao on the line. Though a part of her didn't want him to come back; she really liked that plushie cat.
When she saw him again she raised her arms to him, being as pathetic as possible for as long as she could get away with it.

Li Shou wasn't entirely sure why her tone was so shocked, nor did he really care. "Good." Mao-Mao may have been important, but keeping his integrity as a spoiled rich kid was equally so. Li Shou didn't want to dress someone like a servant would!
The boil tapped his foot anxiously on the ground as he waited on Helmut after Li Shou had dressed himself. After not hearing anything for awhile, he moved in.
The cat sidhe's cheeks puffed out as she held up her arms, eager to object but realizing all to quickly she had him in a checkmate.
"Ugh." Li Shou lowered himself in order to carry her on his back. It was about the only way a weakling like himself could carry something even half his weight. So many things he wanted to say, so little room to actually say them.

Helmut knew she would be in for it later, but for now, she was relishing in her little victories. She climbed onto Li Shou's back as fast as her dizziness would allow. Her arms wrapped around his shoulders and she rested her head against his.
"Where did you get Mao-Mao?"

And thus began their painful journey home. Painful to Li Shou, that was.
"Mama made him for me." He tried not to sound strained, considering how light she was. She was still heavier than what he was used to carrying, which was basically nothing. "I watched her a lot when she sewed. It was a little like watching a machine. She was so precise." The cat sith mused.
"She said it brought her great joy to make something for another person, and overwhelmed her with happiness when she saw someone using that something, so all the clothes I usually wear were made by her. She made things for my sisters too, but they're always too busy doing physical activities to wear or use them." Like rough housing. Eugh.
"Why do you care?"

"Your Mama sounds like a really, really nice lady." Helmut mused, though she had to wonder how someone so nice managed to spawn someone like Li Shou. She did suppose that maybe he was just a rotten pumpkin, which wasn't really his Mama's fault. "And very talented." Especially for caring about rotten pumpkin kittens.
"Oh. Um. 'Cause...I like him?" She squeaked quietly, squirming on his back. "I, um, never had plushies so..." She trailed off, nuzzling her face between her arm and his shoulder.

"She is." Li Shou sighed longingly, his thoughts drifting back to the home front. Right about now she was probably teaching his sisters how to be more lady-like while they squirmed and watched the time.
If the cat boil hadn't been hauling her back to the dorms, he would've halted in his tracks and turned around all slack jawed. Seriously? No plushies?!
"W-what?! How?" He almost demanded to know. "Why don't you have any? And stop squirming!" His legs were already shaking. She didn't need to make it worse.
