Aneta accepted his help and rose to her feet.
Ok. We can do that. She let her senses flare out and bring information back to her.
There are a pair of ponies not overly far from us. A male and a female. They appear to be out on a romantic evening.

Ladies first. He motioned for her to lead the way, though he can see in her mind their location. And she'd never be in harm's way with him near her.

She moved like water across the clearing and into the underbrush, making no sound and leaving no tracks. Her nostrils flared as she scented their prey, moving herself downwind of the couple. In a decent position not to be smelled, she started creeping closer. When she was able to see them, she stopped. Which one do you want?

He followed her, staying close to her but not crowding her. He inhaled and let his sense flare out, getting a feel for the couple.They both seemed healthy.
The female if you'd prefer the male.

Aneta nodded, I think that sounds good.
She waded out of the brush and walked over to the male, flashing him a bright smile and using her voice to urge him closer to her. As he came closer, she let her mind reach out to his to take control. She sidled up to the male and ptu a hoof on his chest, urging him further under her control.

Arron turned his attention to the female accompanying the male. He focused his eyes on hers, entrancing her. He eased up to and took her in his arms, leaning into her neck for that bite. He never used violence and he always wiped their minds after a feeding.

Aneta's attention was solely focused on her lifemate. She found jealousy welling up in her.
Put. Her. Down.
She tried to rationalize it in her mind. It was just feeding. It wasn't like he was going to take her out. Yeah...that wasn't working.

He pulled his head up before he could bite. Gently, he lowered the female down and looked up at his lifemate.
Such a strong reaction to a feeding.

A feeding? You were holding her in your arms like she meant the world to you! I'm the only one you get to do that to. And she would probably try and...oh I don't know....feel you up or something...
Aneta's face was a darker pink than normal; partially from being mad and partially from trying to hold back tears.
She bit her lip as a sob threatened to come out. It's not true is it? You really don't want her over me, do you?

he felt like a brick was just thrown at his face.... which was probably closer to the truth than he realized.
No! You know there can never be anyone else with lifemates. As it stands she has no idea what's going on and she never will know what happened. She'll just think she had a little too much to drink.

Rationally, I know that no one can come between us, but my instincts are telling me to get rid of my competition anyway.
She reached for the male and pulled him to her, How would you like it if I decided to wrap his arms around me and to feed at his neck?
Aneta's tears were starting to leak out of the corner of her eyes. Would you hate it? Would you want him dead?

He frowned at her and pulled her away from the male, not caring if he dropped haplessly to the ground.
I wouldn't wish him dead, no. I would dislike it but I also understand that you need to feed. If it Makes you feel better, we can switch. One way or another, I'll make sure you feed.

I would like to switch. She moved over to the female and pushed to put her further under her power. She sunk her fangs into the female and fed well. She was careful not to take more than the female can donate. She sealed the wound and moved away, keeping the female enthralled as she helped her to a sitting position.
You must think I'm horrible...Aneta's voice dripped with shame. She felt like she'd let him down.

Why would I think you horrible? For reacting to something you didn't think you'd react too?
He finished the male, easing him down and wiping his memory of the event, replacing it with one of too much drink.
We're not without emotion, Aneta. We still feel despite our gift of longevity.
