Back when you first came into my life,
we recalled a place that I knew as a child,
a special place, one that I held close to my heart,
won't you leave me in a dance down this winding road,
where light and shadow entwine to take hold of the thoughts so far,
one left far behind.

"If I could breathe, I'd sing a song for you. Life's but a dream, and I'm dreaming of you."

Edgar was looking around the camp for a place to sleep. He opened up a door, the wind gusting in, causing paper to scatter.

"Well, this room is occupied..."

Before he left, he spotted a picture of Rose.

"Well, at least I know where to find her to play her a song."

To remind her, he took his guitar case off his back and left it in the room, leaning against the wall, so it'd be the first thing she noticed upon entry.

Dance is the hidden language of the soul.

Rose nodded when he talked about the cord, thinking about the rope she had in her own pack. She normally wasn't the most daring of the scavengers and almost always went out in groups, so she never bothered much with that. However, what had happened to Gavin today was making her a bit nervous. She didn't let that show on her face however. She nodded when he mentioned not wanting to get an infection as infections were ten times nastier than normal in this wasteland.
"Good, infections can get pretty nasty." she said matter-of-factly, reflecting on her own injuries in the past. She'd never had anything too major since the war, but she had broken toes countless times before for dance and her wrist once when she had fallen. Never anything too crazy though.

She was drawn back from her thoughts when Gavin said he would head to the clinic anyways, nodding.
"That's probably a good idea. And alright, thanks. I'll head south for the day then." she said, barely even looking in the direction he motioned too since she knew her cardinal directions - unlike many of the people in this town. It was actually a miracle how some of them had even survived as long as they did before finding this camp. Hearing his comment, Rosalie smiled gently, nodding at him and taking his hand, shaking it firmly. "Thanks Gavin, I'll be careful." she said genuinely. She appreciated the concern, but she was always careful as well. She knew how shitty it was out there and how to take care of herself well enough. She wasn't exactly a pro and she knew very well that if something ever happened out there she would probably be screwed, but she wasn't stupid either.

She started to turn and walk away, only getting a step or two before Gavin spoke again. She turned to face him, smiling and taking the geiger counter from him gratefully.
"Thanks, I appreciate it." she said, giving a short wave as she turned and walked off, glad to have one of these if she was going to be out and about on her own. She walked to the camp gates and addressed the guard briefly before stepping outside the camp walls. She was always hit with both a sense of freedom and of danger when the gates closed behind her, knowing that she could roam the world if she so desired - but that'd she never get far. Shaking this thought from her mind, she headed South, ready to spend a few hours trying to find food and supplies that would keep the camp alive longer.

After a good few hours out in the dessert that surrounded the camp, Rosalie made her way carefully back, nursing a large gash on her upper arm amongst several other scrapes that decorated her body. Her pain was worth it however, since her sack was filled with canned and non perishable foods. She honestly couldn't believe her luck and despite the ache in her arm, she walked back through the gates to town all smiles. She had stumbled on an old storm shelter a two miles or so out of camp - or more so fell through an old storm shelter. The entrance was so well hidden that when she stepped closer to get a look inside the abandoned homes that surrounded it, she fell straight through the rotted wood and down to the stone steps that led to the shelter. She was mostly just bruised from the fall, but a piece of wood caught her arm on the way down, tearing a lovely gash across it. She had torn a piece of her own shirt with her pocket knife to wrap it immediately after it happened, but was barely concerned with her injury. What she was more interested in was the fact that this place hadn't been found yet. She had gathered everything she could fit in her pack before climbing her way back out of the shelter and covering it back up the best she could. She didn't want anyone else finding it. Her load, ability to keep it hidden, and even her 'battlescar', as she'd been referring to it in her head, left a triumphant smile on her face as she made her way back into town.

After she dropped off the canned food and told the guards about where the shelter was so they could send more people out to carry more loads, she headed to the clinic, the pain in her arm suddenly more apparent. Walking in, she leaned against the wall gently on her good arm, watching as people bustled around. She didn't want to interrupt anyone's work, so she just patiently waited for someone to take notice of her. Otherwise she'd just go get it cleaned up herself.

Favian had been wandering aimlessly about the camp ever since he'd left the gift for Rose. He was just about to head to his own room when one of the nurses walked past him and winked. He followed her back to the clinic knowing he'd at least have something or someone to do here when he walked in and saw Rose leaning against the wall. His brow furrowed when he saw her, what was she doing here? He sauntered up to her and looked her over, noticing the gash in her arm.
"So, purely business then, not pleasure. Such a shame. I was looking forward to something fun but I suppose you'll have to do. Now don't just stand there, follow me and I'll get you fixed up."
She clearly hadn't been dancing when she'd received this so he refrained from asking, but it was killing him to know. Had she found it?
"I wonder why this has brought you here... Pain didn't seem to matter to you before." He whispered softly in her ear, his breath tickling her hair.
He walked over to a chair which happened to be the only free thing in the tent and gestured for her to sit down, pretending indifference as he collected the bandages and other utensils to fix her up.

Dance is the hidden language of the soul.

Rose had been absorbed in watching the nurses do their work, helping others, and basically just being all around good people. She admired them for being able to do the work they did. She knew enough to bandage up her own wounds but not enough to help anyone else out. Favain's voice made her jump a bit, as she hadn't even noticed him approach.
Oh great, what is this.. the third time today? she thought to herself, turning slightly to look at him. His arrogant attitude and words pissed her off, but she followed behind him none the less, shooing off his words by not even responding. Of course of all the people to help her out, he had to be it. She walked beside him without a word until he leaned over, whispering in her here. She shivered slightly, his breath against her skin causing her to react.

Sighing gently, she spoke up, saying calmly
"This is different." It was obvious what she meant. Of course the pain bothered her. Pain bothered everyone to an extent. But this pain she could have treated since it made sense, she was out scavenging. But her feet.. those she couldn't have treated. She didn't need everyone knowing about that. She walked forward and sat down on the chair he gestured to, gingerly removing the bandage from her arm. "You never even told me your name Doc." she added randomly, watching him carefully as he gathered what he needed to fix up her cut. It was a few inches long and relatively deep, but nothing that some bandaging and keeping a close eye on couldn't fix. Or at least that was what she thought, she couldn't see it too well since it was on the back part of her arm.

Favian turned and smiled at her sadistically as he held up a needle and thread.
"Oh is it now? I do recall wanting to help you because I'm just such a good person, you know."
He put the needle and thread back down.
"Don't worry Princess. I won't be stitching you. Nothing a few butterfly clips won't fix. Though..."
He moved behind her, lifting her arm up gingerly, running his fingers slowly along her skin as he inspected the damage. He crouched down beside her and twisting back picked up some alcohol and a piece of cloth, tipping a little onto it. He turned back to her arm and lifting it gently, dabbed it on the open wound.
"This on the other hand, is going to sting like a b***h, no matter how gently I handle you."
He watched her reaction and found it grieved him to see her hurt though his face stayed its arrogant mask. Wiping her arm clean and the area around it he attached the butterfly clips and started to bandage her arm delicately. He took his time, enjoying wrapping her slender arm, knowing that this was just another thing he could hold over her if he wanted too. She would be so far in his debt soon she'd have to practically beg him to take her. Then a brilliant idea hit him, though he couldn't possibly put it into action yet. Finished with her arm and with nothing left to do he had to let her go.
"There you go Doll, all better. Hopefully that won't stop you..."
He let the sentence hang in the air as he stood up and looked down at her, a smirk dancing across his face.

He nodded and smiled a bit at Rosalie when she thanked him, and said she'd be careful, nodding as they shook hands. She'd be careful, just as she said. They all would, and did. It was why they were still around and working in this line of work as scavengers. He watched as she went to the gate, talked to the guard a little, then left, before turning and heading into the camp itself, to drop off what little he'd scrounged up. The town storage wasn't much, but it was all sheet metal welded together with only one way in, so it was easy to guard, and large enough to hold plenty. Of course, it was almost gapingly empty... Far too empty. They were living by the skins of their teeth here, off of what they scrounged up and little else. But he shook that out of his mind, heading out with a nod to the guard and a flash of pockets. There was no rule for it or whatever, but he always felt better seeing that nobody had tried to squirrel away anything during his turns up here. Then he went on to his next destination, the clinic. All he had to do was slip inside and over by a door, waiting for a few minutes before one of the nurses went over to ask what was wrong. A short comment about the cuts on his arms and legs and he was sat down at the edge of an injured mans bed, one of the scavengers to take a nasty hit to the head from one of the bandits that popped up occasionally. He'd crawled home with dehydration, nasty burns, and what developed into an infection. He'd been layed up for some time now, although he was recovering. So, they chatted amicably for a bit before a nurse dropped by to clean up his wounds. Not that he minded the wait, delays to pain he knew was coming were nice, and there were other's in much worse shape then him in here. Honestly, it was more a routine check to see if the cuts were worse then he'd thought, or he could just as easily have fixed them up himself.

It was quick, painful as hell, but ended up with nothing more then a short pat on the knee as his last leg wound was finished cleaning out and his pant leg rolled down, with a "Nothing major, just some scratchs." as she walked off to the next person with his thanks trailing behind her. Then, as he glanced around, he noticed someone come in... Looked like Rosalie was back, and apperantly had been injured somehow. But, she'd be taken care of easily enough, so he stayed to talk to the man a little bit more.

Dance is the hidden language of the soul.

(( Sorry that this is so long. ))

Rose didn't let his sadistic smile get to her as he held up the needle and thread, but her eyes did falter for a moment, not exactly liking the idea of stitches. She'd suck it up and deal with it, but that didn't keep her from biting her lip a bit nervously. That was a bad habit of her's - lip biting when she was thinking or was nervous about something. She rolled her eyes a little when he mentioned being a good person and wanting to help her.
"You know why it's different." she said simply, not wanting to talk to him about it. She didn't even like that he knew in the first place. She watched as he set the needle and thread down, releasing her lip from the grasp of her teeth, relieved those weren't going to be used today. She wasn't going to let him have satisfaction by admitting she had been nervous about the stitches, so she just shrugged and nodded at him. Her eyes followed his movement as he paused speaking, sliding behind her and lifting her arm up carefully, inspecting the damage.

The way he touched her was gentle - much more so than she would have expected from him, even if he was a doctor. It only lasted for a moment however before he dabbed alcohol into her wound, causing her to grit her teeth and grip the chair tightly for a moment before it became bearable. It was always the initial sting that hurt the most. She watched him carefully as he bandaged her up, his hands wrapping the bandaging around her arm carefully. His dark hair fell down into his face slightly and she found herself almost staring for a moment before she blinked, snapping herself out of it. She could see why the nurses spent time with him the way he did, looking the way he did. Even though he might be easy on the eyes, but he was also an arrogant jackass.

Ignoring him calling her doll, she stood and wiggled her fingers, nodding at him.
"Thanks, I appreciate it." she said honestly. She wasn't going to be rude to him just because he was arrogant towards her. She just wasn't that kind of person. However, the smirk he gave her and the way he left his sentence trail off made her place a hand on her hip, smirking right back at him. "Stop me from doing what? Just because you know doesn't mean it's something you can hold over my head. You made a promise." she said, her voice softening as she mentioned his promise. It was just the way he seemed to taunt her with the fact that he could spill those simple words out whenever her wished that irked her. She turned on her heels and walked out, having quite enough of him for the day. She didn't even notice Gavin as she brushed past him, but it was obvious just by her demeanor that she was annoyed, her triumphant mood from earlier diminished. It was time to dance her frustrations out and then get some much needed sleep. She hurried back to her house and shoved her ballet shoes in a bag before heading back to where she had been practicing earlier, the sky almost dark now as they entered the early hours of the evening. She had all but forgotten about Edgar and his music as she made her way to her makeshift dance studio, the excitement of a good scavenge and an injury taking over her thoughts.

Arriving at the building, she slipped inside without being seen and made her way up to the second floor, blinking several times at everything she saw before her. The first thing she noticed was a black guitar case - the same one Edgar had on his back earlier that day. Stepping up and off the staircase, she took a few more steps into the room, her eyes fell on the ballet shoes. Rose's heart caught in her throat and she dropped her pack down on the floor by the stairs, walking with hurried steps over to where the ballet shoes sat. It was only as she made her way across the floor that she realized how clean this place was now.. it was spotless, absolutely perfect. She didn't pay much attention to that fact however, reaching down to touch the ballet shoes like they were the most priceless and precious thing she had ever seen. She sat down on the ground, holding the shoes in her hands and checking the size, finding them to be a perfect fit. Her face broke out into a smile as she set them down in her lap, glancing around the room in absolute shock and excitement. She had a brand new pair of shoes that wouldn't rip up her feet.. a place that was cleaned well enough to be a studio. Everything she possibly could have wanted or needed.

After she absorbed the fact that this was even happening, she snapped back to reality. Who could have done this? And then it dawned on her - it had to be the Doc. Right? Who else could it be? Her eyes traveled over to the guitar then, running a hand through her hair. How could Edgar have known? There was no way he was behind this.. but, his guitar was there. Confused now, Rose stood, ballet shoes clasped tightly in hand. She wanted so badly to try them out right here and now, but she felt conflicted about who had left this gift behind and what they're intentions could possibly be. Then there was the fact that Edgar's guitar was here, so even if he hadn't been the ones to leave the shoes, he knew where this place was.
"Whoever did this should've left a note or something." she mumbled out loud, wanting to know who had given her the greatest gift since the war broke out. It meant more to her than they'd ever know.

After pacing for a bit with ballet shoes in hand, Rosalie finally caved, having to try the new shoes. She couldn't just walk away from them and investigate - she needed to wear them now. Slipping her toms off, she gingerly slipped her feet into the new shoes, smiling a bit at how they fit. They needed to be worn in, but they were perfect, hugging every part of her foot in just the right way. Tossing her other shoes to the side, she stood in a fluid movement, humming a tune to herself as she spun around the room, the new shoes carrying her wonderfully. It felt amazing to have solid shoes on her feet - not ones that caused her to trip up or her feet to bleed from holes from overuse. Her steps were quick and graceful and her hair spun around her as she twirled and leaped, the feeling of new shoes something she thought she'd never have again. It was a simple joy, but it left her feeling happier than she had in a while and light on her feet, a smile plastered across her lips.

Favian sighed as he watched her go, running a hand through his hair. He wished he knew why this girl affected him so and why he kept being such a tool towards her. He moved to go after her but stopped himself, he would find her later and hopefully she'd be dancing in the new shoes. He'd tell her it was him, though of course it was and she would jump into his arms... Just then a nurse brushed past him in a most inviting way. He looked after her and she mouthed 'later' at him, before winking and walking off to help the next person. He shook his head and ran his hand through his hair again. Why when he could have any girl he wanted, did he want the one that most despised him. Because that's clearly what Rose thought of him. Sure she'd been polite just now when she thanked him but that was just her nature. He had to admit though, he had liked that spirit she had when threatened.

He moved amongst the beds searching for something to do, trying to get his mind off her, when he noticed his lighter on the ground. Jackpot. When was the last time he'd had a smoke? Too long, that was for sure. Another nurse came up to him just at that moment and asked him to follow her but he brushed her off with a wave of his hand and walked outside the tent, leaving her mouth agape and staring. He barely noticed though, so mixed up in his own thoughts.

Favian took the packet of cigarettes from the inside pocket of his suit jacket. He was getting low, he noticed as he slipped one between his lips and jiggled the packet in his hand. Five left... Perhaps he should join Rose on her next venture out and see if he couldn't find some more... What was he thinking? Rose this, Rose that, she was everywhere! He chewed the end of the cigarette and closed the packet, putting it away. He held up his lighter, hand cupping it against the breeze as he lit the end. He puffed a few times before taking it out and blowing the smoke into the wind.

He began walking in no particular direction though after awhile he knew where he was headed. He couldn't make himself walk in though. He began circling what was left of the block that the ruined house stood in. He couldn't do this forever. His cigarette was long gone and he was itching for another. But it didn't seem like something Rose would appreciate so he held off. He looked up at the window, hoping to see her glide by it but it was too dark by now to see anything inside. He sighed, hands in pockets and looked down at the dusty ground... What's this? He bent down, picking up the small slip of paper. His note. He frowned, putting it in his pocket. He'd make sure she got it personally.

Edgar entered an abandoned building, still searching for a sleeping spot, but stopped when he heard the sounds of someone moving. He slapped his forehead with the heel of his hand, remembering that this was Rose's building.

Well, since I'm here...

He snuck over to where he'd left his guitar, though he was distracted by Rose's movements.

]She's really good...

He slowly slid the guitar out of the case, then took a seat on a stool to watch her move. He watched her for a moment, before realizing what to play. He began strumming the strings, a low dancing tune floating around the room in perfect time to Rose's dancing. There was a small smile on his face, eyes closed. He was enjoying the simple act of playing his guitar.

Favian looked up at the window again as he heard the notes of music drift down to him. He moved inside the building unable to stop himself, his face twisted in anger. He moved silently up the stairs until he could see the culprit, playing away with his eyes shut. He was about to tell the brat to get out when he noticed Rose's hair flying about her out the corner of his eye. He turned to watch her, looking down at her feet. She was wearing them! He almost smiled but then he turned back to Edgar playing his guitar for her alone. His eyes hardened as he took the note from his pocket and scrunching it up he turned and walked back down the stairs as silently as he had risen, throwing the crumpled paper over his shoulder.

He was shaking with anger but he couldn't place why. Was it the competition? Or the fact that she had looked so happy in his presence when the only look she ever gave him was disdain? All that work for her only for her to not even know he'd done it. And Winston... He cursed himself and took out another cigarette as he stalked back to the medical tent. He was so angry though that he couldn't light it. Giving up he put it away and went straight up to the nurse that had been so willing before. He didn't even bother looking at the rest of them. He grabbed her by the hand and pulled her along.
"Come on."
She giggled girlishly as she dropped what she was doing and followed behind him. Neither of them noticed the other nurse watching them as they left.
Favian pulled the woman around the corner of a darkened building, out of sight of prying eyes. He pushed her up against the wall lifting her up around his waist, sliding his hands up her thighs as he kissed her hungrily, letting all his anger out in his feverish kisses. She didn't mind one bit though, the rougher the better for this one.

Dance is the hidden language of the soul.

Rosalie had her eyes closed as always as she spun across the floor, enjoying the feeling of the new shoes and for now, ignoring the feeling of wanting to find out who they were from. She was so absorbed in what she was doing that she didn't notice the footsteps that she normally would have.. she really was being careless lately about keeping this secret. Even when the sounds of Edgar playing the guitar first started, she didn't even open her eyes, his tune matching the one she was humming so perfectly that she thought she was imagining the sound herself. However, when she realized that it wasn't her own mind coming up with the music, but someone else, she spun to a stop, her eyes shooting open and falling on Edgar. She looked like a deer caught in headlights and she stood up slowly, biting her lip and running her hand through her hair. Not only had she seen Edgar when she opened her eyes, but a head of dark hair bobbing down the stairs, Favian.

It took her another moment to collect herself, not even knowing what to say anymore. To Favian it was easy, since he was just watching her. However, Edgar was here playing music that matched her tune, absorbed in his guitar just as much as she was always absorbed in her dance.
"Edgar.." she said carefully, trying to get his attention so he'd open his eyes and stop playing. She was obviously extremely confused about what to do with herself right now. To go after Favian - who had to be here for some reason. It only made her think that he was behind this gift even more than before. Or to stay and talk to Edgar - who needed to know that this talent of her's was a secret. She was also curious as to why he even knew where to go in the first place. He had left his guitar here. Sighing, she ran a hand through her amber locks, stress causing her to furrow her brow. "Okay, first of all, you can't tell anyone about this. That I dance. It's my thing, my secret." she said simply, laying it out like it was the law to Edgar. "Secondly, that was absolutely beautiful.. you've got talent." she said, grinning a bit at him before she spoke again. "And lastly, how did you know I was going to be here? This isn't even where I live, it's just where I come to practice. How did you even know?" she said, a bit exasperatedly.

She gave him a minute or so to respond as she started taking off her ballet shoes, knowing that she had to go after Favian. He had to be the one to leave this gift for her. Spotting a crumpled up piece of paper by the top stairs, she walked over bare foot and picked it up, reading it over.
"It was him." she mumbled under her breath, shoving the note in her pocket before she walked back over to her ballet shoes, picking them up and standing as well. She looked over to Edgar, knowing she probably seemed like a crazy person right now. She didn't handle people finding out about this very well. However, she was actually happy that Edgar had. Maybe he'd play music for her again in the future. "I'm sorry I seem so crazy about this, Edgar. It's just kind of my thing, what keeps me going out here." she said carefully, walking over to her bag and dropping the new ballet shoes in amongst the old ones. She then turned back to him, saying "But if you ever want to play while I dance again, I'd love that." She smiled softly at him, tucking a stray lock of hair behind her ear to tame it. All that spinning and leaping had ruffled it up pretty well.

She shifted her feet a bit impatiently waiting for his reply. She did want to talk to him, but she knew she owed Favian the biggest thank you ever. He had given her something that brought her more happiness than she'd felt in a long time, so she needed to get to him right then and now. She knew she was being rude and impatient, which she felt badly about since Edgar was a really nice guy, as well as talented and easy on the eyes.. but she needed to do this. She'd been a jerk to Favian earlier, not to mention he had been one to her as well. Now she was even more confused, wondering why he would get a gift like this for her only to treat her like she was nothing.

won't you leave me in a dance down this winding road,
where light and shadow entwine to take hold of the thoughts so far,
one left far behind.

"I sing to life and its tragic beauty, to pain and to strife, and to all that dances through me..."

Edgar shrugged.

"I was just walking and found this place. But if you don't want me to tell anyone, I won't. But only if you let me use this place for sleeping and to play."

He flashed her a smile.

"And of course I'll play for you. I enjoy it, so why not? I think we'd make a great pair, your dancing to my guitar playing."

Bit by bit I´m falling under your charm,
you'll keep me and all the world far from harm,
bring hope to everyone, take in your hands eternity,
even when it seems that I don't need you,
just know that I am in love can't wait to,
leave this endless darkness,
won't you come along with me, hold my hand

Dance is the hidden language of the soul.

Rose nodded thankfully at him, a gentle smile on her face. Her smile turned into a bit of a grin when he mentioned using this place for sleeping and playing. Laughing gently, she said
"I don't own this place, so go ahead, sleep and play here all you want. At least this way I'll know where to find you." She grinned and winked at him before slinging her pack over her shoulder and taking a step towards the stairs. She paused hearing what Edgar had to say about playing for her and about them making a good team. "Yea, we definitely would. I need to take care of something though, so I'll come find you another time." she said gently, giving him a short wave as she stepped down the stairs, her steps hurried. She needed to find Favian and ask him what was up with this gift. Even while talking to Edgar, her mind had only been on him. Why would someone who had only treated her with arrogance leave her something so amazing?

She walked with hurried steps to the clinic, her multi-colored eyes searching the now much quieter place. She only had to look for a few moments when a nurse came up to her, asking
"You looking for the doc sweetheart?" She seemed nice enough, so Rose shrugged, saying "Yea, um, have you seen him?" She felt a little weird asking for him when she normally just ignored him, but she needed to talk to him. She had his note tightly in her hand, her eyes falling on the nurse as she waited for her answer. "He's out back, smoke break." she said sweetly, pointing in the correct direction. Rosalie smiled and thanked her, following the nurse's pointed finger. The nurse just smirked to herself, knowing exactly what Rose would find and how she would react. She didn't care about Rose, she was just annoyed that Favian ignored her open invitation earlier and went with that other little slut instead.

Rosalie made her way around the back of the building quickly. It didn't take her long before she stumbled upon Favian and the other nurse. Actually, she almost ran right into them, since they were pressed up against each other right around the corner. Taking a step back, Rose cleared her throat loudly to announce her presence. She laughed, a sarcastic laugh that made it obvious this made her a bit upset. She wasn't sure why it upset her, but it did. Maybe because she was actually beginning to think that he was capable of something more than being a scumbag. Angrily, she threw the crumpled note at him, watching for his reaction.
"I came here to thank you for that gift.. but it looks like you're a little busy." she said, frustrated. She turned on her heels, ready to bolt out of there. The girl Favian was all over was already trying to get herself out of this situation, not wanting to get caught in between whatever was going on here. Favian had an opportunity here - he could either go after Rose, which could end badly or maybe not so badly depending on how he handled it, or he could try to coax the girl he'd just been with back. Rosalie honestly didn't even expect him to give her another moment of his time, although she just didn't get him. Why go through all of trouble of getting something like this for her only to turn around and do something like this? Maybe she just overestimated his ability to not be a douche.

In backyards, winning battles with our wooden swords
But now we've stepped into a cruel world

Favian had been daydreaming a little as he kissed the nurse, his mind not exactly on the task at hand, though that made little difference in his ability. He had been imagining what Rose would do if she found him like this and when Rose cleared her throat he thought it was just his over active imagination. And now she was laughing, he cringed at the bitterness and hurt in it. It wasn't until the note hit him in the back of the head that he snapped back to reality. He froze in place, his eyes glazed over not seeing the pretty little thing in front of him but Rose's two toned eyes. He released his grip on the nurse who fixed herself up and took off without a backwards glance.

He still hadn't turned to face Rose as he tried to regain his composure. But he knew he would lose her if he didn't hurry up and get his act together, but what could he possibly say to make this alright? He righted his suit and ran his hands through his hair before turning and grabbing her wrist, just as she was about to take off. He spun her around, holding her wrist tightly. He looked down to make sure it wasn't her injured arm, still not meeting her eyes. He was so angry at himself and it flashed across his face, followed by guilt and confusion.

"Look..." He looked up at her, searching her face. "We both know that I can be an arrogant a*****e. But please, don't leave me, don't go." He raised his hand to smooth her hair, tucking a lock behind her ear. "Rose... What are you doing to me?"
