Elin DeraWhat am I missing?
She gave off a smug look seeing her blush. For some reason, it pleased her. "Unless I've been drunk since I stood up on Sina, I really don't think you're that bad at all." With that, Elin continued to make her way to the bottom of her present mug. Modesty wasn't such a big thing on this side of the wall, but really, there were so many issues with people these days.
Hearing the brunette's comment, she raised her head, cheeks heating subconsciously at the smile before her. "Definitely." The redhead leaned forward a little, adding flirtatiously, "And so, our fates intertwine like the fingers of lovers." Whether she meant to say what she said that way or not was starting to get out of the range of things she could remember. The world was full of things consisting of no logic.
OoC: Yey. ~<3 ALSO I am soooo sorry! I was waiting on you when I totally forgot it was my turn I AMSO SORRY

[Wren Harbinger] Wren looked back to the side at the window, resting her chin against her shoulder as if she were a roosting finch. She held some of her previous smile still, hiding it against the burlap colored fabric of her jacket collar. The other girl's words sounded a little humored, but genuine nonetheless, and she felt comforted by that fact. "I hope you don't change your mind about that later," she said quietly, laughing a little. It dawned on her how long of a day it had been, and Wren closed her tired eyes, sighing wearily. She was beginning to feel the throbbing ache in her ankles again, and uncrossed them to try and prevent any further discomfort.
Besides the uncanny fatigue of two consecutive sleepless nights and her ankles feeling half broken, she felt good. Her ears rang a little with the thudding hum of the rain on the roof and her own quiet breathing. Eyelids low, her olive gaze remained focused on the world outside of the tavern, wordlessly memorizing every droplet of water on the glass. Her mind reeled with memories of watching the rain from her bedroom window as a child, and she suddenly wanted to be in her old house again, just once. She knew it was still standing, empty, on that narrow little street next to the ferry docks. She could see it vividly in her mind.
"Elin, would you be opposed to going for a walk with me?" she piqued, sitting up straight again and looking across the table at her inebriated friend. She hoped, once again, that this girl would humor her. -- ooc; no worries! also gosh sorry i didn't realize how long this post was until i previewed it D:

Elin DeraWhat am I missing?
Elin watched Wren, brow furrowing as her mind and consciousness seemed to start to wander away. "Yes!" she nearly shouted, smacking her hands definitively on the table. The girl quickly coughed a little and relaxed, seeming quite embarrassed by the abrupt lack of judgement. "Rather...'no' is probably the right answer. I don't mind you, or walking. Just don't let a puddle on the side of some street kill me, alright?" A recovery attempt was made, but it was getting progressively more difficult to wear her mask of nonchalant-ness. It was frustrating to have her language skills falling apart like that.

[Wren Harbinger] Wren nodded giddily, her award winning crooked smile returning in full force this time, pink freckled cheeks beaming. She felt around her lower back to be sure that her notebook was still resting securely in the confines of her leather waist apron and straightened her jacket a little, hoping she didn't look as absolutely wiped out as she felt. "Ah, don't worry," she said, peeping over all her mugs and downing the last few sips that were left in them.
"I think I can take on a puddle." She said, standing and stretching her long thin arms above her head, groaning as her spine gave a few quiet cracking sounds. She offered Elin a hand, smirking again. "You sure you can walk, Lieutenant?"

Elin DeraWhat am I missing?
The redhead followed suit in her seat, flinching at one of her many tense muscles. She scowled and lightly batted Wren's hand away, pulling herself up out of her seat. "Oi, I can stand just fi--!" The young woman found herself scuffing a boot on the ground at a weird angle and, with a low amount of balance, falling against Wren briefly, clinging to her jacket as she steadied herself back onto her feet, cheeks reddening. "...just fine." The Lieutenant stood herself up, looking a bit like an irritated cat. And she was much heavier than one would think someone of her size to be. Still light to out-maneuver and outrun most people, but still heavier than the skinny frame alluded.

[Wren Harbinger] With a haughty laugh, Wren gave Elin a playful jab in the ribs with her elbow and nodded toward the isle. "Ladies first," she said, one eyebrow raised in amusement. Worst came to worst, they could pass out drunkenly in the old house. There were probably still some candles and things lying around. She hadn't taken much with her when she left, and having recalled that fact led her to believe her bedroom was probably just as it had been the day she looked it over one last time before leaving for the Training Corps.

Elin DeraWhat am I missing?
The look on her face did not hide her injured pride as she took a few wobbly steps to the door. "If you insist." The redhead opened the door and watched the rain. Luckily, the wind wasn't blowing toward the doorway she presently stood in. But it really was raining, this was no pleasant nighttime mist. In all honesty, there seemed to be no logic in going out, or most of this meeting. But Elin didn't want to head back to her quarters.

[Wren Harbinger] Wren nodded politely at the shorter girl before she turned to head toward the exit. She pulled her light brown satchel from the back of her chair and paused at the counter near the door to pay for the drinks. The man who had been arguing with the underage cadet from earlier took her money and offered a gruff " 'ave a nice night," as she turned to follow Elin out the heavy wooden door into the rainy air.
The small porch offered them shelter from the falling rain, and she thought quickly over which direction would be the quickest path to her old neighborhood. She turned to eye the other, who was standing quietly next to her. "My dorm is empty, and I honestly avoid it as much as I can," she began, sighing. "I figured we could camp out in my old house, at least until the rain quits. It's not far from here," She reached to pull up her collar to help shield her neck and chest from the billowing wind.

Her eyes curved over to Wren, nodding slightly. "I do all my paperwork in the same room I sleep. I'll follow your lead." After her lips turned up slightly, she looked out at the rain, and found herself grateful for the roads not just being dirt. "I might seem like I know everything, but that's not always true." Yellow orbs softened, looking up toward the dark sky. Yes, the sky...the real thing. Her lips seemed to raise further as she looked at it, less aware of her companion at this moment.

[Wren Harbinger] Wren related to Elin's comment, musing over it for a moment. She had fallen asleep on one of the bleacher benches in the training grounds a few times before, too tired to walk back to the barracks. Her dorm felt empty and impersonal, which left her to not be drawn to it in any way. She wondered where Elin felt most at home. Perhaps she would ask before her buzz wore off and she lost the confidence. If she had to give a precise answer herself, it would probably be the roof of the armory base. It was high up enough to see over Wall Rose, and she would spend hours of her free time there, staring out at the city or drawing whatever was on her mind that day.
"I don't know anything but how to fight," she collected herself again, looking down at her feet for a moment before stepping down onto the wet pavement.

"Bullshit." The Lieutenant replied quite quickly, considering her state. And she'd been starting to zone out in a pleasant haze, too. "You're also good at art and being a smart a**." Elin added with a smirk, stepping closer to the rain and further from Wren in case of any sort of backlash from the older woman.
She put a hand out, and found that the rain was warm. And with that, the redhead briskly pulled out all the confinements on her hair, putting them in her breast pocket. Wild, fiery hair cascaded across her shoulders and down her back, catching glints of candle light before she walked freely into the rain, pleased by the feeling.

[Wren Harbinger] The brunette laughed loudly, muted somewhat by the pounding weather. "I appreciate that," she called, turning to glance over her shoulder at the other. Noting she had unbound her hair, Wren decided she looked much more like her age with her hair down. She smirked a little behind the edge of her upturned jacket collar. "You're pretty good at looking like a normal girl, for someone so sharp." she added playfully.
Turning back to face the road ahead, she stuffed her hands into her tight pockets and focused on the rain, matting her hair down against the contours of her sharp nose and high cheekbone. Her ankles were protesting diligently, but she ignored it and kept a brisk pace. She was sure Elin didn't favor catching a cold in the rain.

"Normal, haa?" She gave Wren a dirty yet somewhat playful look. "I don't think being 'normal' is in my cards. And don't get too many special thoughts just because you're one of the only people who've seen me this way, with my hair like this." It was her own sideways way of saying yeah, I'm starting to let you in, for sure. However, she couldn't move as fast as she liked to, as she found herself walking almost from one side of the road to the other if she chose speed over accuracy. "Never had someone look at me and say I was a normal girl before."

[Wren Harbinger] Wren crossed her arms over her chest, turning her head down somewhat to keep the water out of her eyes. She giggled a little as the other replied, and reminded herself to return the favor somehow, seeing as Elin was being open with her.
"Well, it's not often someone compliments me for anything other than my combat skills, so sometimes I forget that I'm a normal person too," she offered, looking up to examine the road and turn toward the junction street leading to the old neighborhood. "I'll try not to take your generosity for granted, though." she said, laughing again and turning to glance at the redhead with an enthused grin.

Elin DeraWhat am I missing?
Ginger hair had turned a deep burnt orange as it pressed to her back, neck, and face in what had looked like many layers from before. Her mind felt a bit foggy, and she walked a little nearer to the short-haired brunette. "You better not." she responded with a bit of a delay. Out of inebriation or just thoughtfulness, Elin wasn't entirely certain. Perhaps a bit of both. "I don't know if our interests are normal, but if we were out there, able to live all around the world...would we be 'normal' then?" her brow furrowed at her own question slightly, wondering if her family ever wondered such things, especially going back past her parents. Back a hundred years, even.
OoC: already so late...
