There's some correlation with the amount of testosterone available during pregnancy and the probability that the child will turn out gay. And apparently that's why the further down the line you are, the less testosterone is available, and the higher probability.
But it's just a correlation. Not fact.
EDIT: There have been other studies linking being gay with genetics. That doesn't mean if you have "the gay gene" you'll be gay. It's more complicated than that. The prevailing idea is that being gay has to do with a mix of your genetics AND your environment.

Well the whole theory on it is that the environment changes in the mothers womb with consecutive children. The mother's body sees the embryo as a foreign object and so the environment changes.
It's not saying that all little brothers will be gay, just that because of the changing surroundings, the probability is higher for children later on down the road.

I think that it is a bit of both. What I think is that anyone can become bi or gay. It is part genetics and part environement and part choice. wink Well atleast thats what I think.

Scatterheart Meyler But yknow, the say the same thing about boys who grow up with more sisters or women in the household. That's very true. So now if we listen to both these theories... if boys are exposed to either too much feminine influence or too much masculinity, they will turn out gay? OMG, parents, watch out! Your child's sexuality is a careful balancing act and if you screw it up even one iota, they will turn out as one of those horrible gays!!! eek gonk Screw worrying about drugs or school, its your own children that your child from. Limited exposure only. The best tactic is hatred of the other siblings.

I'd say they're SO DAMN DESPERATE to find a cause for the gayness, they'll blame ANYTHING that can't be argued against with any concrete certainty.

i have one older brother and i would have had another one, but it died, then i cam out and i gay. i have feeling its a pretty accurate theory but also... all men start as as female fetuses, so that means there's chances for everyone to turn gay :3
