"Uh," Sherry shrugged, "It's a pain? And you have your own stuff to move. But, if you're sure..." She dumped a couple of towels on top of the basket he was holding.
"And yeah. Someone had to help me move, and I didn't want to bother anyone. But don't worry, she can't hurt you." And she'd promised not to.
"Alright," she walked across the room and picked up the box on the desk. "Let's head up."

He would have objected that it wasn't, but then she dumped some towels in the basket and proceeded to pick something up after he told her not to strain herself.
"Give me that." Putting the basket down, he took the box from her, placed the basket on top, and then picked them up again. "Ok, let's go."

"Excuse me?" She was a bit confounded when he took the box from her, but it all made sense a moment later. "What? No. It's not," she scowled at him and moved to take the box back, "that heavy. And I'm fine."

Jake only scowled at her, and moved away when she made a grab for it. "Sherry, your hands are still healing. Please, just let me take it."

More scowling on her part, but at her hands more than Jake. "They're fine." She moved to grab at the box again, but stopped. He'd asked, with 'please' and everything. "I'm pretty much all better, you know."

Yes, Jake was learning. Please and thank yous all around~ "... it'll make me feel better. And besides, I want to make it up to you." And then he moved towards her door, not planning on giving her room for argument.

Sherry sighed. "You don't have to make up for that." There were a number of things he'd done wrong, but her wounds were unrelated in her mind. But she didn't try to argue. Instead, she turned around and grabbed the blanket off the bed. It was hers, and she was taking it with her.
The short trip to her new room gave her just enough time to worry about things. She knew Armagnac couldn't cause any physical damage to anything, but...
"Don't, um, let Armagnac get to you," she whispered as they neared her door. "She's not going to be happy to see you, I'm sure, but..." Sherry shrugged, then reached down to open the door and let Jake in.

If his hands weren't already full, he would have attempted to wrestle the blanket from her. So he only frowned at Sherry and followed as she led him to her new room.
He only sighed as Sherry warned him. "It's ok. I owe her an apology too." And then he stepped inside.

Sherry shook her head. He owed Armagnac no apologies. Not after the things she's wanted to do to him. "She'll want one," Sherry mumbled, stepping in after Jake and trying not to look worried.
Armagnac was in the far corner of the large room (someone before Sherry had knocked out most walls, creating one large room, it seemed at first glance), standing over a bed. When Sherry had been in the room before, the bed had been against the other wall. Armagnac was re-arranging things again.
One very tall, very green golem turned to regard the Hunters. "What does the worm need from you today?"

One look at the room, and he wondered if the golem had been moving things around the whole past hour. He almost dared to say she was even more fussy than Chester, which was something.
"Armagnac?" He put the things down and started to walk towards her. "I came to apologize, to you and Sherry."

There had been some carrying of things, and some putting of things into drawers and hanging things in the tiny closet that came with the room. Then the weapon had set about organizing things to her liking. It was all for a lost cause, she knew, since Sherry would just unorganize it later.
Jake wanting to apologize to Armagnac was not anything anyone would have expected out of this day. Sherry was still worried, even if she knew physical harm was not possibility. The golem could talk. Out loud. That could be bad. She hoped it wouldn't be, but you never knew.
Armagnac laughed. It was a mocking laugh, Sherry knew that's exactly how it was meant to sound. "You should apologize to me," Armagnac said grinning, "You broke my hunter. You took her squishy, soft heart and shattered it. You--"
"Armangac, don't--"
"Did you tell him?" The weapon didn't even glance at Sherry, her gaze was centered on Jake. His reaction meant everything to her. "Did you tell him how much it hurt? How empty and stupid you feel? How--"
"Armagnac!" Sherry was bright red. She'd expected Armagnac to tell Jake all the ways he wasn't good enough, or to make him apologize again, or... she'd hoped the weapon would go stalking off to their old room. But no, she'd decided to bring up Sherry's feelings.

"I know, and she did." He cast his gaze downward, but then lifted his eyes to meet Armagnac's. He couldn't keep running away anymore. He had come to hopefully resolve everything with Sherry, and that included her weapon as well. "I know she deserves someone better, someone who'll love her and cherish her, who'll treat her the way she deserves to be. She deserves someone who'll always be there and'll protect her, and would never hurt or belittle her, and yet, she settled for someone like me. But I want to make things right now. I know I don't deserve another chance after all the ones I've been given, but I won't stop trying to amend them, and I mean it."
"If I could, I'd give you the chance to gut me right now, but I don't think Chester or Sherry would like that, and I'd rather not dish out an unnecessary half grand if I can help it." And then he dared to give her a lopsided grin. "There IS, however, another way to take your frustration out on me, and now that Chester's back, it won't be so one-sided and you can believe I won't hold back." That was, of course, after Sherry had fully recovered.

Armagnac scowled. Sherry started moving towards where the other two stood.
"You misunderstand," the weapon's tone was still one of mocking, "the point of gutting you would be to watch you suffer. A fair fight is not what you deserve."
"Armagnac," Sherry was fully intending to stand between them. Jake was baiting her, challenging her and Sherry... was actually a bit surprised Armagnac wasn't yelling at him. "Both of you-" She stopped talking when she felt something curl around her waist, and then felt herself pulled toward the golem. One large, scaly tail had her, and then her back was against the her weapon, one clawed hand resting on her head. Sherry felt both protected and like something being shown off.
"Hush, Sweet. I will say my piece and then you can edit me like usual." She ruffled Sherry's hair. "Look at her," she said to Jake, "so much more than you deserve. You don't care enough to remember her, or to tell her the truth. Why should I give her to you, who cannot properly cherish her?"
Sherry sighed. "No, Armagnac."
"No, Sweetling. I am not finished." At least she wasn't yelling. "He has hurt you and tossed you aside and you are foolish. Remember all of the things he has done, yet you let him apologize, you pretend nothing is wrong and that you don't hurt. Why? So he can do those things again? We all know he will. He doesn't even like when you touch him, the way he flinches. He doesn't tell you the truth when you ask for it. He doesn't check on you when you are hurt. He doesn't know how many stitches you had. He should, but he doesn't. He doesn't care. Bah. He will not be the lover you need. He should tell you the truth there, but we know he is not good at truth."
Sherry sighed. She'd heard it before, but she didn't want Jake to hear it. She could order Armagnac to stop, she could drag her back to the labs and put her away. But the weapon would complain for months and months. And... she was being nearly civil about the whole thing. Trying to plant doubt in Sherry, yes, but civilly.
"Do not worry, Worm," she was addressing Jake again, "we will fight. I will taste your blood. But you must first convince me you can care for my Hunter."
She sounded way too civil. "I think," Sherry began, moving to untangle herself and finding no resistance, "it's time to turn this golem back in." She'd apologize to Jake after the weapon was muted.

When Armagnac grabbed Sherry, his first instinct was to protect her, but, well, this was her weapon, and he was pretty sure Armagnac would never harm nor allow harm to her. He said nothing as she continued to berate him. He deserved every word, and he acknowledged that he was scum. Despite his doubts, he should have gone to visit her right after the mission, and yet he hesitated, scared of agitating her further.
"No, it's fine," he interrupted, knowing that doing so wouldn't solve anything. Her weapon would only continue to hate him, and while he knew it would probably be near impossible to get on her good graces, he would at least try. "Tell me what you want me to do then."

Armagnac scowled again. It wasn't any fun if he didn't argue with her.No fun if he wasn't going to play the game. She liked being right, she liked knowing he knew she was right, but it wasn't nearly as fun if he didn't fight back. Humans. "I can't have what I want. She would cry again. But tell me, do you really want her? No lies this time. What do you want with my hunter?"
Sherry was still moving towards the door, one of Amragnac's large hands in both of hers.
