She arched her eyebrow a bit when he seemed to not know his own name. "Well, it's nice to meet you, Pothos," she said. That was odd....she really hoped it was just nerves (though, really, what kinda god would be nervous? He's a god. Hello?) and that he'd relax while they were dancing. Not that she was very good at it yet, dangit! Why'd it have to be a waltz? Why not a square dance or somethin' she was good at? She hoped her awful first impression wouldn't get them eliminated first. That would suck.
It didn't even bother her that he just kept looking at the floor while they danced, because she was basically doing the same thing. "Sorry," she murmured when she nearly stepped on his toes....again. At least he didn't seem to mind too much....though from what she could see, he didn't really seem like the kinda guy to complain to his dance partner's face.

Ah.. oh.. yeah.. "Nice.. to meet you too..." he said, lifting his head for just a second to see she was also staring at her feet....hooves... and apologizing... ? "Oh! No...n-no its ok, don't worry about it....ah..." he said and fumbled over his words.
His gaze darted about as his mother's voice rang over the commotion, reminding him he was being judged along with his partner. They were all no doubt looking at him. Or it felt like they were looking at him. Maybe he could waltz this.. Applebloom into a corner and out the door and just head for the hills before it was to late!!
He attempted to smile again... though it looked more like he was in pain.... or constipated....
"Ahe..hehe...ah.. so.... come.. here often?"
WHAT?! Don't speak to it! Her!

It was kinda cute how he seemed shy, or nervous. Though that smile he gave her looked like maybe he didn't really wanna be there, let along dancing with her. Was it because she was a fauny, or did he just not wanna be here at all?
She snorted, a very unladylike noise, when he asked her if she came here often. "Naw, this is my first time, how 'bout you?" she asked and smiled.
He might not wanna be here, but she did. She wasn't that great at dancing yet, but it wasn't for lack of trying. She wondered again if he just needed to relax... "So....your mom do this every year?"

The questions. She had to ask those dreaded questions. It was like a constant reminder he was here and not.... blissfully unaware somewhere else. "Er.... if you mean dancing.... this is only the second year....but...ah....yeh...Mom's thrown a few other crazy parties the past...three four years?" he said with a slight sigh, trying to concentrate on ... well dancing. His wings shifted uncomfortably on his back as he watched the hem of her dress bounce with her movements.... among other things bouncing...
Why.....

Himeros had identified his partner at last (after a few missed attempts at some of his brothers'...and sisters' partners). Well, well, very nice! He cast an appreciative eye over the lovely demon lady before him, then swept low in a bow to take her hand and kiss it. "My dear, forgive me for taking so long. How could I have been so lucky to be granted the privilege of dancing with such a gorgeous young lady?"
Hey, he could take a page from Hedylogos' book as well.
Smiling winningly, he shook off his earlier distractions and tried to focus on his (single) partner. Alright...the better they were at this, the longer they got to keep dancing together. Okay, sure he'd rather go somewhere else for more entertaining activities than dancing...
...but, this could still be fun. After all, some dances required dancing very...close.
Head back in the game in time for the next round, he grinned, pleased with the dance choice. "Ah, the cha-cha, darling; do you know it? The movement is all in the hips, you know," he explained, stepping close and placing his hands on her hips to...guide her, yes. Ah, what was it about demons having such lovely hips...?

Ah, they had made it through the first stage! Most excellent. He knew getting through subsequent stages would be more difficult as time went on, especially considering there was Venus...
But that was alright! Honestly, Eros was having fun just being with and dancing with Psyche. It was a nice bonus that some of the judges were rating them so well, especially his daughter. He shot a grin over in Voluptas' direction when she gave him a rating of '8'--though she had still given another couple a better rating.
It wouldn't bother him! He was excited to dance the ... cha-cha, was it? He had not danced that in a while...
No matter!
To Psyche, he shot his most charming grin, even though there was hint of cheesy playfulness dancing in his eyes and at the corners of his lips. "Ah, the cha-cha. I believe Himeros is a big fan of this dance, because it requires a lot of hip movement." He leaned in a bit, bringing Psyche a bit closer to him. "Also a lot of closeness. Let's not dance in his direction, shall we?"
And, with a warm laugh, he spun her out.

Hiroki stopped dancing when the music stopped, he stood with his partner and listened to the scores being given. The fact he and his dance partner received so many 10s when it was plainly obvious he didn't know the dance surprised him. "Wow" he said looking to his partner "Points for trying I guess" he chuckled and smiled. Then the new music started, he wasn't expecting music again so fast, but at least this dance he knew more about and he set about to lead his partner into the cha-cha-cha

After others started figuring out who their partners were, it only really left a few options for who Zest's partner might be. The demon was surprised when he bowed before her. The things he said were quite... flattering. Was he the god of flattery, was there even a god of flattery? Zest didn't know, but for now she smiled sweetly at his attempts of such. They hadn't done the best in the first round of dancing. This hardly surprised Zest since she didn't know how to dance and her partner seemed distracted, despite his opening remarks. However, they were still in this competition. Zest wasn't sure if she should admit that she wasn't really a dancer... however he could teach her. Eyes widening as his hands moved to her hips, it seemed like he was more then willing to teach her if she didn't know. Wow, this close already? Shouldn't he take her on a date first? "Is this really how the dance goes?" Zest asked, she couldn't help but not believe him.

Naomi blinked, whatever it was she had done with her dance partner, the judges all seemed to think it was really good. Well that was a good sign. Gaining a little confidence, the fae smiled. "The cha-cha?" Once again, she'd never heard of it.
At least this time she had the sense to look around and see what all the other pairs were doing. "Ooooh, this one looks like fun." The fae grinned, attempting her own cha cha. She had a feeling it wasn't very good, hopefully Hymnaios would be able to help a little on his end to keep them in the running.

Kratos eyed her, her rehearsed lines and the way she held herself. Did she...not like him? What, was he not good enough maybe? Or.... did she just not want to be here? Something was off... he couldn't quite place his finger on it.
But somehow they had made it through the next round? And now it was the cha cha... wasn't that a... super close dance?
Looking her over, he did what he say other partners doing and pulled her in a little closer to try to mimic this dance. It was better than the first time at least... but he still looked a bit... awkward. "Sorry... Not exactly a dancer..." he said before tilting his head. "You ah.... you alright? Don't seem in the best of spirits..."
Then again, he wasn't exactly either... but he was always grumpy.
And she was still hawt.
Keep it cool Kratos, man face, chicks dig that kinda stuff.

Why...That wasn't her name. In fact they were still in it? A rush of relief washed over her as she started to relax....Although she wondered if the Judges had something against the Graces. Two years in a row a Grace out first...Oh never mind.
Like she was born to do, Phaenna loosened up and started to dance like she always did. Maybe her partern needed some tips on the cha-cha- NOPE he was doing..Amazing. Phaenna was well...Stunned. "I'll just let you lead ummm..." She had caught his name. She knew it. Give it a minute. "Hiroki!" She blurted out finally.
Maybe mother had been right. Mopping was never befitting a Grace after all.

Well that could have gone better...BUT they were still in it! And that's all that mattered! She giggled and started to bounce from side to side. "...What's the Cha-cha-cha?" Minuette couldn't help but admit she knew nothing of dancing. Though this was so fun she couldn't help but want to learn. "Iordanes , could you show me please?" She smiled to him sweetly, ready to mimic what he would do. She couldn't wait to get back to the tree and tell all the ponies about this place! They should all go next year!

Having located her partner and danced the waltz, Kleta left the dance-floor slightly disappointed. She had danced... average... certainly not her best, but it seemed her partner was not at all acquainted with dance, or at least that one. And the judges seemed to have taken notice. They had not done the worst though. "Terzjian," She addressed him after they got off the dance floor and prepared for the next dance, "if you don't know the dance, let me lead you and we will dance most famously together." She was the goddess of fame after-all. She regretted the words almost as soon as they came out of her mouth. The cha-cha... oh dear. This was not one of her best dances, she was not as... sexual... as some of her fellow siblings. Hip swaying was just... not something she was famous for. "Of course, if you'd like to take the lead on this one, that would be quite alright." Kleta recanted. "I can tell you how this one goes... but showing you is another matter. Watch Himeros over there and you might get some idea." Kleta rolled her eyes to the God of Lust who currently had his hands all over some poor demon's waist.
