Dysmas took a deep breath. As she described this mythical creature, he realized that he had not really taken any time to fully look at her. "Beautiful..." Dysmas smiled at her, hoping that things were better between them now. "Now, I've seen one too." He put a hand on her arm, rubbing the skin that was somehow hard and smooth at the same time. "Can you even feel that?" Dysmas tilted his head.

Sweetie blushed, or well, she would have it showed through the diamond exterior of her skin. The fauny couldn't tell if he saw her blushing or not though. "What is?" She blinked, looking at him. Something was beautiful, she wondered if it was something behind her. There was no way he was talking about here, was there? But after everything just a few minutes ago, he probably was looking at her when he said it... She blushed a bit more, glad she didn't know if he could see her blushing or not.

"Feel wh-" She looked down, "That? Not at all." Sweetie frowned, wondering why her arm didn't feel anything. "That's really strange, normally when you touch me I feel it. Every time." The female chewed her lip, thinking about it. But he said it was only temporary right? That meant soon she could feel his touch again.

Dysmas didn't notice the blush, but carried on looking at his handiwork. "Interesting." The male pulled his hand back, deciding that it was strange that he was rubbing her arm, even if she couldn't feel it. "I guess its just part of the coating. None of your actual skin is on the outside so you can't feel it?" Dysmas suggested, he didn't know enough about pae anatomy to have any idea what he was talking about.

"My mom... she can do this... sort of. It looks a little different. I never really saw it long enough to really see. When she did it, it was quick like..." Dysmas snapped his fingers to demonstrate. "It was to keep herself from getting hurt." Dysmas explained, it was all he had for reference to what was happening to Sweetie. "Yours is lasting longer... but I honestly can't believe it would be permanent." Dysmas shrugged his shoulders. "Do you want to get out of here?"

Sweetie nodded, feeling that he'd made sense. "It sounds... Well not logical, but it makes sense at least." But his mother could do it too? So he'd seen something like this before, but not done it himself? Sweetie still wasn't certain how he'd managed to do magic without a horn, but this was a different land after all. The fauny passed it off as the different land having magic everywhere. She'd noticed a lot of it since she arrived.

"Sure, lets go somewhere. It would feel nice to stretch our legs after such a long nap." She grinned, not at all concerned about the fact that she was all covered in crystal. He said it was only temporary, so she didn't need to worry about it. Sweetie was glad she wasn't blushing. Or at least, the blush wasn't visible. "Do you think we could ask your mom to show us? Maybe figure out more about... Whatever this is?" She asked, tilting her head a little. It was strange, whatever was making her crystallized, felt like her own skin. Even if she couldn't feel anything outside of it.

Dysmas got up from the sack, it was difficult after being in it for so long. The male took some time to stretch and brush out his long hair before turning to Sweetie and staring at her. He blinked for a few moments, ask his mother to show them? That would require meeting his mother... it made the thought come into his mind of what would happen if he emerged from the room with Sweetie.

The male's stomach sunk as deep as it could. "Yeah... of course." His voice broke as if it was pre-pubescent. Dysmas wasn't sure how much it would be the same since there were already some pretty clear differences, but it couldn't hurt getting an actual explanation. How would he explain to his mother how the diamond coat got on Sweetie in the first place? Maybe it would be better if he asked on his own...

"Alright, I'm ready if you are," he gave her a reassuring smile and crossed his mother was away.

As she climbed out of his bed, Sweetie pondered something. She hadn't thought about how awkward it would be for him to emerge from his room with her in tow. But then, she really hadn't ever been in this situation before. This was her first experience with a male of any sort really. Unless you counted the isle, but then, that was just them getting to know one another right? How strange she didn't know what to expect if they were caught leaving his room together. Would anyone else find it strange? It was almost as strange for her, but it still felt so very right.

"What's wrong?" The fauness tilted her head, hearing the crack in his voice. She'd only heard that kind of voice cracking in colts who were turning into fine young stallions. He looked stressed even. "We don't have to ask your mother if you don't want to?" She offered, wondering if that was the cause of his distress.

She gave him a kind smile, holding her hand out to him. "Quite ready."

Dysmas shook his head, "No, it's not that." His voice had returned to normal now, he took her hand and a deep breath and pushed through the door. The room looked clear, that was until he saw his mom standing on the far side of the room digging through a bowl of fruit.

Trager looked up from the bowl of fruit when she heard the door, "Oh, hello D-... Dysmas?" Trager tilted her head. There was no sort of anger in her voice, just simple confusion as she stood upright from the bowl. "Is this a friend of yours, sweetie?" she asked, clearly taken off guard by the unexpected guest.

Dysmas gave an awkward smile, and quickly let go of Sweetie's hand before his mom had the chance to notice. Though he didn't want to offend Sweetie either so he used that hand to scratch his head. Yes, that would keep both females happy. "Yeah... this is Sweetie." Dysmas decided not to go into what she was doing there. He didn't want to explain the truth to his mom or explain why he lied to Sweetie. "We were stuck on that island together..."

Sweetie blinked, not really having expected his mother to have been in the house when they left his room. She looked from one to the other, more than a little shocked. This wasn't at all awkward. The fauny forced herself to smile, waving a little with her now free hand. She was quite glad she was still all crystal pony, since Sweetie was pretty certain she was blushing like mad. What must his mother think of her?

"He-hello." She smiled, trying to get her heart rate to slow. What was wrong with her? She'd just wanted to talk to Dysmas' mom to figure out whatever this whole crystally thing was. Now she was all shocked and embarrassed? Oh Celestia this was silly of her.

Trager had not immediately noticed the crystal coating on Sweetie's skin. The first thing she had really noticed about Sweetie was that she was a female, but now that that was out of the way. Trager observed that she sort of looked like a faun, she had raised a faun before she had her fish boys and was familiar with her adopted daughter's appearance... but this was slightly different, diamond coating aside. And the diamond coating... well that looked familiar too.

"Hi Sweetie, I heard you took good care of my bo... son... on the island. I thank you for that." Trager decided calling him her boy wasn't the most flattering thing for Dysmas right now. She felt uncomfortable as a mother knowing what might have been happening behind that closed door, she tried to keep her mind from thinking too hard about it. Trager supposed it was naive to think that nothing like that had happened on the island.

Dysmas was sort of staring blankly at the whole situation unrolling before him. Deeply horrified, "We were just catching up..." Dysmas finally managed to say. He decided that was not much better though. The water angel attempted to shake himself out of it, "She isn't... it just happened...the diamond skin, it's like yours isn't it?" Dysmas took a deep breath after a bunch of words came quickly fumbling out of his mouth.

Sweetie was trying not to look as uncomfortable as she felt. This was a lot more awkward than she had been anticipating. But then, she hadn't expected to meet his mother the second they left his room. The fauny was glad her furious blushing wasn't visible.

"I think he took better care of me than I did of him." She rubbed the back of her neck, remembering all the times he'd saved her from that almost drowning thing she had going on. And the coconuts when they'd first made their way onto shore. "Thank you for letting him go on that cruise. He's a good man." Sweetie grinned, trying not to think what she would be thinking Trager's shoes.

Oh Celestia, she must look terrible in the other woman's eyes. "We just needed to catch up. It's been so very long since we left that island." Sweetie was quick to jump on the catching up train. It was true after all. Just not vocal catching up. Sleep.

Trager couldn't help but quirk her eyebrows at Sweetie's statement. She hadn't let Dysmas go anywhere, he was a full grown male. If she had any say, she would've said no, and she spent the whole time he was gone worrying she had lost one of her boys. Trager let it slide though, and tried to calm her heart that was still filled with anxiety over the whole ordeal.

Dysmas glanced at Sweetie, who was frozen as completely as he was. He had thought she might ask about the diamond skin, but that didn't seem to be the case. Well it was apparently his power after-all. Dysmas coughed before looking back over at his mother. "I was wondering if you could tell us about your power... since this is... mine?" Dysmas hoped he wasn't required to explain how it got there.

Trager gave a soft, motherly smile. "I see... well it happens when I'm under a great deal of stress... were you stressed Dysmas?" Trager continued without waiting for an answer, " Its only a few seconds if that, but it came in handy several times, especially when you and your brother were little. It is protection mostly, it seems to shatter at a physical injury, if it didn't go away on its own first... did you have any other questions?" She did her best to explain.

Sweetie broke her own stiff posture, smiling at the elder woman. She was Dysmas' mother after all, if Sweetie wanted to continue to visit him, she'd have to be friendly with his mother. "So all I have to do to is... Well hurt myself?" She asked, almost stunned. It seemed so very easy. Why hadn't they thought of it earlier?

But it happened when she was stressed? Was Dysmas stressed about that kiss? Or was it the situation on the whole? She knew he'd been stressed after, but that was also her fault. The fauny chewed on one of her lips, thinking about this. Was the entire thing her fault? She really hated to think it was. But all signs were currently pointing to it being her fault.

"It's lasting a bit longer, I wonder what else is different about your two powers?" She wondered aloud, trying not to let her thoughts turn into voiced words.

Dysmas looked at Sweetie, slightly disturbed, he didn't like the idea of testing out this theory that if she hurt herself it would go away. He didn't know how this was different from his mother's abilities. "Maybe we should wait it out a bit before we try anything drastic, unless something happens on its own." Dysmas said, his voice full of concern. He could think of the one major difference between his power and his mother's power: the kiss. Whether it had been brought up by stress or not, he didn't have a clue. "Well thanks mom, you've been really helpful." Dysmas tried to make it clear that he was done with the conversation.

Trager nodded her head slowly, "It is difficult to know how Dysmas' power may manifest differently from mine. I guess the best advice I can give to both of you is to wait it out and see what happens." Trager gave her warm motherly smile, "Of course honey..." Catching that Dysmas was ready to move on, she pulled back her motherly tendencies to want to protect her son and let him go. "I need to get back to working on this fruit dish... you two have a good night."

Sweetie listened to their exchange, deciding it was far better to just wait this out and see if it would go away on its own. She didn't think it'd be a good idea to go and get herself hurt for the sake of learning about his power.

"You as well Ma'am." She smiled, trying to be polite. But now she had no idea what to do. They had been going to stretch their legs after such a long nap, so they'd just go for that right? She looked back at Dysmas, the question clear in her eyes. "Shall we then?" Oops, where did that come from?

But she'd meant to ask hadn't she? Even if it had just been with her eyes. Well, it was better that she made sure he still wanted to go for a walk, otherwise they'd just be all awkward until something happened.

Dysmas quickly nodded his head and beckoned for Sweetie to follow him out the door. He didn't want to seem to his mother like he was rushing out of the hut... but he was rushing out of the hut. When they were out and gone and a good deal away from the hut Dysmas finally could breathe again.

"Well... that was one way to introduce you to my mom." It was the single most uncomfortable thing Dysmas had ever experience and he wasn't quite sure how to recover from it.
