Alexander hardly paid his fiance any mind as she began reading down the lists of available foods, fingers tracing along, smudging up the paperwork with the blood and grease of his very recent meal. Making a grab for a nearby pen, he began marking off various dishes, all very much meat based, and at least half of which featuring brains, flipping through pages, caring very little for the fact that he was likely going completely overboard.
At this point, he barely even cared. He had been dragging his heels, metaphorically now and literally before they had even arrived, because all of this was so much more work then the would ever be interested in doing.
Looking up only he noticed the book sliding his way out of the corner of his eye, Alex looked over, glancing up at Yin and back down to the page before smiling. Cacti? Why not. It was interesting, and original, and fit the color scheme nicely.
"I like it." He said, in a hushed tone, as if what they were doing had suddenly become a private affair now that his mother was just leaving them to making some few decisions without any interruptions.
Marking off a few more things on his own list with barely a glance, he pushed his book away.
"Done. And I do mean I'm done." He looked up at his mom, his gaze narrowed, his typical smile and easygoing nature dropping. "You can decide on the rest. I am certain that we've covered all of the main, and most important, aspects." He concluded, with a glance towards Yin, a question in his gaze as though asking the other boil if he agreed.
It had felt like they had been there for hours. An entire day, completely wasted on pointless nonsense.
...It had really only been two hours.
