Claudia Vesslia

Dusk settled over the charred land and the shadows elongated in certain areas. The orange glow pierced the window with its last bit of warm to confront the group. Once in a while, Claudia stood up to stretch and strolled around the halls to get her mind off Ruby which was nearly impossible. She noticed that moment citizens have been relocated to shelters provided by the elementals. The soldiers were housed in spare rooms as a reward for their efforts, and although she thought about going to her own room she didn't want to stray far from Nyru. There was a chance that he still needed her even though he had Laxion. There were times she would pass the Oracle and she thought of asking him questions that even he wouldn't know the answer to or deem impractical. Coming back from a short walk, she sat down next to her partner and glanced at Alexis concentrating by the window. Lucas approached her a few times, but she made it clear that she didn't want to be bothered. Adi's disappearance was eating away at all of them and Ruby's death was something they'll never forget.

Anyway, Claudia sat quietly with Nyru by her side and even though she drifted off into her own world, she would eventually pull herself back to him. At some point, she subconscious held his hand giving it tiny squeeze to signal that she was okay for now. On the cot across from them, Laxion and Lucas discussed the aftermath of the country. Obviously, the Guildeam would handle the major cities and prevent another war from arising. Also, the dragon was spotted above Shard and apparently there is a conspiracy about the Circle being involved. She wouldn't put it past them knowing their power over everything and everyone.

As the blonde's attention faded away from the two, Nyru called to her only to be silent. She turned to him and was about to reply when Lucas came over to borrow her for a moment. Giving Nyru a nodded back and slowly letting his hand go, Lucas sat by her. He struggle to find the right words to say and found the strength to apologize for something that was beyond his power. Regret and despair were written all over his face and Claudia had to say something to easy the tension. "You did all that you could, Lucas. None of us could stop her. I know she didn't suffer though, and I'm glad that you were by her side in the very end..." Claudia chocked on her words trying to hold back tears. In a moment of weakness, she stood up and ran out of the main hall not sure of where she was going.

The sun has set, I close my eyes
I pretend everything's alright...Drowning in anger
I can't pretend everything's alright...Please don't let me fall forever...

I'm holding onto you, I'll never let go

I need you with me as I enter the shadows

When she heard them arrive hours later, her heart sped up a bit in anxiousness and happiness. To eager to see that they were all alright, Adi couldn't stay away, but neither did she wish to be found out...not yet. So a little dark magic to hide her, dark clothing and sticking to the shadow of the rafters of the temple, Adi watched on as her companions greeted the Oracle. Hearing them ask about her made her smile; she was cared about, it was heart warming.

Perched there, a knee drawn up on the thick wood blank, resting her chin on her knee, she listened in with ease as the Oracle flat out lied about her being there which made her feel guilty. Adi was more interested in the Dragon conversation. The gypsy had suspected as much, as a far as songs and legends went, stories of dragons were not few. She had always enjoyed them and wanted to travel to the Crossing to greet and see the Dragons there; she had yet to fulfill that dream. It would have been her next stop after the Land of Crows if this mess hadn't happened.

Her friends settled in, Adi continued t watch over them and observe...still struggling internally with her choices and potions, watching them was a distraction. The gypsy feeling a bit like a guardian angel herself as she sat there in the shadows of the rafters unseen. The numbers of wounded and homeless twiddled down till it was some of the more seriously injured and house soldiers, and her companions remained, but she knew it wasn't going to be much longer before they were moving on.

Adi sighed as she watched from her perch how her disappearance wore on the others. Alexis more then others, but Ruby's death wore on them all the most. She would have to confront them soon, apologize and make her choice, but she still struggled with it, flip flopping as the days wore on. And still Zuriel was quiet...once her temper and simmered, she was missing him already.

They needed to talk, but she was getting the impression that he didn't want to.

He was happy that Claudia was understanding, but as much as she told Lucas that it wasn't his fault he couldn't help but remember that he was their leader. But then she choked up, the emotions bottled up inside becoming too much for her as she ran off leaving Lucas alone. He watched her run away with a strange feeling of loneliness and guilt overcome him. When she went out of sight he wasn't sure what to do... should he feel bad? He looked around at Nyru and Laxion, the elemental shook his shoulders. "It's not your fault" Nyru said, trying to calm him. Lucas could only sigh and say "But that's all I can ever feel..."
"Hey" Laxion then interrupted, "We knew there was going to be sacrifices... Ruby knew it better than anyone. You shouldn't be so hard on yourself."

Alexis overheard much of the conversation, she even saw Claudia run from the corner of her eye. It wasn't until Lucas began showing his guilt that she silently approached the others, it was as if she appeared from the shadows behind them in her layers of silver and blue cloth. It was obvious she was a wizard just by the looks of her, it was also obvious that she studied at Merlin - it was just a shame she never got to graduate. Alexis couldn't help but say "She accepted her future, we should do our best to forgive her... I understand..." Alexis looked down at the ground beside her in her thought, she went on to explain "I made a similar choice when I left you all to save my father. I ruined my life knowing that your's will be fine" and witht hat she lifted her head and tried to smile, even if it was just a small one. With a nod she added "Ruby's fine - where ever she is. But we should be trying to find Adi". Lucas almost gasped, he looked down at the bed nearby where the Purevelion Blade sat and couldn't bare to think about what may have to be done. But Alexis pulled his chin back to them with her finger and said "We are not finding her because of that. The Angels can say what they want but whatever happens it will be Adi's choice. Not there's.."
"But what if she chooses to go through with it?" Lucas asked, "I don't think I could go through with the process..."
"Then... I don't know." Alexis replied.

Claudia Vesslia

Claudia ran down a branch of hallways absentmindedly until she found herself at a four way junction. She was lost in the labyrinth she had put herself in and became reluctant to chose a way. Down each path, she saw a transparent vision of who or what could be at the end of it. The path to her far left showed the Land of Crows and the Prince of Crows waiting inside it. The one behind her showed Ruby smiling and frozen in time. Of course, there was no doubt in her mind that she should take that path, but something told her to wait. The path in front of her represented Adi with her back turned and her beautiful wings spread ready to take flight. The last path showed the werewolf she had a relationship with until she found his true personality. Everyone of them had to symbolize something, Ruby's and Adi's seemed easy enough. Past and Future, love and friendship, or fate and undecided. Her home and the Prince could stand for loneliness, wisdom, regret, and the werewolf only represented betrayal to her so why would he appear?

As much as she wanted to return to her homelands, that concept wasn't an option so she quickly dismissed that hallway. She never wanted to feel that feeling of betrayal again, so without a second thought she dismissed that path. The remaining two were Adi and Ruby and as much she wanted to run to Ruby, the gypsy was the one alive. She had done so much for Magic Earth and had saved her and Nyru countless times on top of it. Claudia felt disgusted with herself not being able to realize how much Adi was suffering and didn't lift a finger to help. Dipping her head low, she apologized to the illusions in front and back of her.

But, before she could move forward the sound of bare feet, lightly stepped towards her. When she looked up, it was the Oracle and she immediately bowed low while whipping away the stream of tears on her face. "Forgive me. I didn't intend to wonder so freely. I know you said we could, but I might have strayed to far." she wasn't sure what else to say to him and hoped he would be somewhat lenient.

Listening still she heard Alexis' determination to find her...it made the gypsy smirk to think she was hiding so close to them and they didn't even know it. Taking refuge in the Spirit Fissure left her well out of the way and no chance of being found unless the Oracle wanted to take the others there, which seemed unlikely. Part of her felt bad as well for how long she was dragging it out, but it soon would be over.

Hearing Alexis admit she didn't want to find her for the angels, which just another relief to Adi. But watching Lucas look to his sword, the sword that was so troubling for the both of them it seemed like, it brought many questions to the gypsy's mind. No answers did she have, but there was a certain angel that did.

"Zuriel..." she stated mentally calling him out within her own body and mind; knowing that he was there, she felt him. "What is the process? If I am to make a choice, I wan to know how it is supposed to go...the risks." Breathing deeply to calm her already anxious nerves just thinking about it. "Do I have to be slain for us to be separate? Seriously wounded? How painful will it be, will I come out the same or different?"

So many questions were coming up now that Adi had opened the ugly door to this topic. Her doubts and insecurities coming back with a vengeance as her insides twisted at the mere thought of not seeing Zuriel again...at the idea of dying. Drawing her knees up, Adi wrapped her arms around her legs and rested her chin on her knees as she stared down unnoticed.

When your soul finds the soul it was waiting for
When someone walks into your heart through an open door

◢ ♞ ◣

The Oracle was surprised by Claudia, he didn't expect to find her during this hour wondering his halls. He stood calmly and anyone could tell he was giving her his fall attention, in reply he said "If 'too far' was a place, it would be a tourist attraction Claudia. Roam to your heart - or your mind's content, I have nothing to hide in my temple, it is yours to discover."

Back in the temple hall the others were still talking amongst themselves, knowing that in a few moment they will probably be moving upstairs to the rooms that the Oracle had so willingly given to them for as long as they need. But up above Adi called for Zuriel to finally reply and give her some sort of guidance. Almost sheepishly the radient voice echoed in her mind, he said "Like falling asleep if the process is done correctly. All that will be different is that our souls will be independent... just as things should be."

"I'm going to head upstairs" Alexis then said to the others, who agreed and said the same. Nyru and Laxion followed Alexis to the corner of the hall were a spiral staircase exited and went up to the high living quarters were rooms awaited everyone. Before Lucas reached the archway he looked back... he hoped that Adi would return but was also scared of what her choice may be. He also hoped that Claudia wouldn't be gone too long - or that she had found some peace of mind.

Alexis lay in her bed with the red covers neatly tucked under her arms as she stared up at the ceiling. The bed was so comfortable she was sure she'd drift to sleep in a matter of minutes. But she couldn't stop thinking about Adi and Ruby - their team-mate and friend was no gone forever, and Adi was probably on the edge of never seeing them again either. She felt so helpless. Meanwhile Laxion got into the emerald green covers with Nyru, the room smelled fresh of incense and every wall was decorated with dragons and spirits. Behind Nyru they spooned as Laxion rested his head on Nyru's shoulder, putting her arm around his side letting the comfort of Nyru's arm over his fill him with warmth. "Are you okay?" Nyru asked, knowing that Laxion must still be distressed over Ruby, and now was the first time they have had to really think about things, in his hand he could feel Laxion's grip on his intertwining fingers tighten at the question. Nyru tried to look over his shoulder at Laxion, who nodded slightly and whispered "...I'm fine...", but Nyru knew the truth. He just wished he could sympathise more... the thought of losing Claudia so suddenly was more than he could take. But Laxion did his best to hold back the tears until he couldn't bare it any longer, all the memories he shared with Alexis and Ruby the last few months since finding Alexis again, everything they'd been through right from the start and everything they were going to do was no gone. As soon as Laxion's body shook with the fear tear Nyru turned around to face him and held him as closely as possible against him, he tried his best not to break down at the sight of Laxion so upset and wrecked with emotions.

The Oracle forced on her and joked about his sacred temple being a tourist attraction. Claudia straightened her posture as he gave her permission to roam further until her wary mind needed rest. She knew that if she went up the rooms now, sleep wouldn't alleviate her and not having Ruby sleep by her side was almost to heartbreaking. She decided to dismiss the illusions and stepped closer to the Oracle hoping he could help her. "My sister, Ruby, is gone. I'm sure you already knew that before we came here. Adi is still missing and her disappearance is almost to much to bare. Part of me wants to accept what has happened and find peace in Ruby's death. And, part of me wants to see Adi to apologize for neglecting her feelings. The other half wishes that she's gone forever and has found tranquility instead of haunting sorrow. I hope the angels never return and leave her be. I'm so torn because I don't want to feel or to believe, and why should me feelings be considered when I've failed. Oracle, I beg you to help me." she collapsed to her knees shamefully crying.

Everything around her felt like a meshed blur and the only way out was through the Oracle's advice. Was there anything he could do for her, like provide with an object to find Adi. Allow her the chance to see her sister again to exchange a proper goodbye. Encourage to stand up and travel to some far off land where she'll find a device to solve all her problems. She'll accept anything, even the risk of sacrificing herself to bring just one of them back.

It came slowly...sheepishly as if Zuriel was hesitant to come forward and face her fury and distrust. Gradually though Zuriel presence came forward, filling her up like there were cracks in her very being that he some how come to fill without her knowing. It was a feeling that she feared would be permanent upon his departure.

Adi squeezed her eyes shut and shoved those thoughts and feelings aside and focused on what he said; his words filling her head. A small sad smile with hints of happiness spread across her face as she heard him not realizing how much the gypsy missed her angel's voice.

Her angel...

Seeing that everyone had left the room, and no longer under her watchful and silent guard, Adi stood with lucid grace. Spreading her wings she flew out a nearby arch and took the the dusky skies of the nearing evening. Her goal her little nest high up on the Spirit Fissure and took up a spot on the railing of the balcony there.

Focusing back his words as they explained the process she frowned though as she thought it over. "...if the process goes correctly? If its as simple as going to sleep why would Lucas be so reluctant to do follow through with it? His response was as if he had to run me through..."

Adi had no want to cause Lucas any form of hurt or pain...kind sweet and fair Lucas.

"Is there any other ways...I'd rather not force his hand," she spoke up staring into the beginnings of the setting sun, admiring the wide range of beautiful colors that would only become more vibrant as the minutes began to tick by.

When your soul finds the soul it was waiting for
When someone walks into your heart through an open door

◢ ♞ ◣

It wasn't often that a young girl would fall to her knees in sorrow before him, but unfortunately it wasn't something he rarely saw. Many would come to him in the hopes of finding direction, freedom or strength and more times than not he would have an answer. Though sometimes the answer was simple and exactly what the victim feared. Looking down at Claudia before him, he took a moment to take in her Liberimmunis features, that pale skin and her fangs that still remain sharper than any other race on Magic Earth. It was unlike one of her people to be so lost. "You ask questions that you have no control over" he began calmly, his voice soothing yet giving the answers that she probably feared the most. "But consider this" he went on, "If we all faded away when we failed where would we be today? " he then bent his knees as to lower to her level, his tone was quiet now for even he did not want to be judged by the lady of which he's about to speak. He said "Look to your Queen. Declasia has fallen further than any, given her people more reason to hate her than all... yet the lady of the night stands taller than any and can sway the heart of her people with but one action". The Oracle then stood up and began to walk away but stopped once more, over his shoulder saying "I'm sure Adi will be alright, as for you - perhaps some sleep... there is nothing else for a broken heart. You can trust me when I say the spirits will guide her soul."

At her mention of 'running her through' Zuriel fell deathly silent again, he did not want to have to paint a picture for her. There is no other way to be killed by a blade. When she asked for other ways and looked out to the golden sunset Zuriel looked through her eyes and remembered the Heavens that he missed so much. He only hoped that visions would not run through her as he did his best to hide the memories. Little did any mortal know that on rare occasions these sunsets, or when the sun breaks through cloud over head and leaves beams of light in the distance, could be doorways to the Heavens for a mortal. But that was even a myth he didn't believe in. Yet the suns rays were so similar to that of the light that always shun down on the Heavens and its beautiful spires. How he longed to see it again. Finally though, he said "... no..." with regret.

The Oracle is a gentle and humble man free of evil intentions. He only confirmed that her questions were far beyond her reach or anyone else reach for that matter. However, she didn't know how to answer his question knowing that failure was a main part of life. She may be faltered now, but in the end she'll thank herself for standing up. The worst has come to pass and her internal wounds will heal in time. Lightly, he continued the dark subject matter and gave her an example of her beautiful, strong, and independent queen. The blonde believed his words to be true considering how much she doubted Declasia over the last year. There was no reason to question her loyalty especially unmasking the villain behind it all. Plus, the queen share her background with Claudia exclusively which was something she took to heart. The woman has suffered so much yet she continues to guide her people on the path to salvation even though she has to stay behind. The Oracle arose to his feet and walked away to leave her to her own thoughts. There was nothing he could do expect offer her a bed to rest in for the night.

Watching him disappear down the hall, she sluggishly picked herself up and ventured to the bed rooms. The rooms next to hers sheltered the others and she didn't dare bother them. Her room was furnished in navy blue and the bed looked inviting despite her sister's absence. Not bothering to undress into more conformable clothing, Claudia laid down and passed out almost instantly.

She felt him fall silent at her words and begin to stare longingly into the sunset. The bang of longing hit her hard making her heart twinge. No amount of words or emotions on her part would keep him here, Adi just grasping at straws to do just that. Zuriel was keeping something from her thought, she could sense that, but he was keeping it well hidden and part of her hurt at being fooled and possibly lied to.

Zuriel gave his answer then, and she scowled lowering her eyes to the ground of the temple far below.

"No...no other way, there has to be! I refuse to have Lucas risk his own sanity and beliefs on my behave. What if I simply took the sword and took care of it myself. Didn't your people say that if I died that it would take of it as well? That I must be slain..." her words came out sharp and clearly pained. Adi wondered if she had it in her to become a martyr and run herself through.

The others certainly wouldn't like it or let her...what other options did she have if they were so few. Sick of it all the choices, the pain and grasping at something she couldn't get a grasp on, no matter how tightly she held on just to have it slip through her fingers like morning mist. Sick of hiding an waiting; sick of wanting to be selfish and missing everything she once was, missing her people she couldn't return to.

Before Adi really knew what she was doing, she began to hum, beginning to sing a few lyrics in her head as a song came to her. Singing from here would spread throughout the temple, but she didn't care any more. So she sang...finally doing something she loved and missed was refreshing.

I'm a ghost of a girl, That I want to be most
I'm the shell of a girl, That I used to know well

Dancing slowly in an empty room. Can the lonely take the place of you
I sing myself a quiet lullaby; Let you go and let the lonely in
To take my heart again, Too afraid, to go inside
For the pain of one more loveless night
For the loneliness will stay with me
And hold me till I fall asleep

I'm a ghost of a girl, That I want to be most
I'm the shell of a girl, That I used to know well

Dancing slowly in an empty room
Can the lonely take the place of you? I sing myself a quiet lullaby
Let you go and let the lonely in To take my heart again
Broken pieces of, A barely breathing story
Where there once was love, Now there's only me
And the lonely....

Dancing slowly in an empty room. Can the lonely take the place of you
I sing myself a quiet lullaby; Let you go and let the lonely in
To take my heart again

When your soul finds the soul it was waiting for
When someone walks into your heart through an open door

Lucas sat on the edge of his bed in his pure white top and trousers that he always wore beneath his robes. His long white hair draped around him like an elven prince as he stared before him. He never thought he'd be afraid to look at the light he had always believed in, but even now it stared back at him with eyes that beckoned a choice he didn't want to make. The Purevelion Blade lay on it's side on the table right there, one beam of twilight crossing the blade's middle causing it to go invisible just as it did in direct sunlight. Lucas let out a long drawn out sigh as he looked away from the blade and remembered the discussion from a few days before. Flashbacks of the angels demanding what they wanted, revealing themselves as a little less than the god-like beings his Syndicate had come to believe. Perhaps all these years of mystery and legend has only coated the angels in gold to cover up the fact they are but another race that want to survive. More images of Adi and her suffering... the image of Zuriel becoming angry... Injustira leaving for Bloodholme. Lucas wondered why Justice had to be gone for the one moment that demanded it most.

He couldn't help but look back at the blade and stand up, slowly walking up to it he placed his hand over the hilt and lifted it. It hummed with energy with his touch as always, but now, having learned it's real purpose, he could force the blade to be visible in light. It sent chills down his spine after learning that this was an Angel's weapon... a weapon of tearing souls away from flesh and doing with it what you wanted. "This is too much power..." he said to himself, looking up and down the blade. But he couldn't hold back the thought that maybe Adi will return... wanting him to do it. It made his grip on the blade tighten... it was that thought only that convinced him that he would uphold Justice. If Adi wanted, then he would do it - just to return their souls to their own bodies and return everything to normal.

Back in the main halls, The Oracle arrived after everyone had left, yet he arrived just in time to see Adi fly out and hope that whatever she may have heard was not anything to scare her off. A firefly glowing a warm orange then hovered over to him, and he graciously lowered his staff for it to perch on. "Things certainly do seem lost, don't they?" he asked the bug, as if it would reply. It buzzed its wings once or twice as he observed it before it flew off once more. Looking around the room and feeling happier that most of the citizens had been healed or re-homed, he began to hope for the future of Zakernand, but even he felt uneasy knowing that a young girl faced an impossible decision.

"Everything comes to an end..."

The next morning greeted everyone with a warm sunrise, the sound of tweeting birds and the buzzing of dragonflies whizzing about outside. They had all gathered in the hall where they were healed that had been converted even earlier in the morning to a dining room of sorts. A large long table with plush cushions to sit on surrounding it. It was strange to sit so closely to the floor, but everyone still rejoiced at having a calm morning for once. Laxion, Nyru, Lucas, Alexis and Claudia sat around one end of the table enjoying bowls of tasty and rejuvenating breakfast. The Oracle stood, as if not hungry, at a window observing the mountains around them with his arms neatly tucked behind him. They were doing their best to stay cheerful and hopeful of the future. Even Alexis was breaking a smile in the discussion. All of their weapons were left in their rooms too, as if they finally had a reason to leave them behind. Alexis wasn't even wearing her normal clothes, instead she wore a regal deep blue and cyan kimono, patterned with swirling flowers. Nyru, Laxiona nd Lucas wore the now clean clothes they normally wore under their armour and robes.

EDIT FOR NEMO:

Adi continued to ask questions that Zuriel, as a High Angel, thought the answers were obvious too. Almost as if he snapped, he said "You cannot do it yourself!" half with anger that was built up within him and half to protect her. "An Angelic weapon cannot be used by anyone who is not it's original user. Purevelion lives on inside your friend, that is why he must do it. If it is done any other way I will be freed and you will be killed and your soul vanish to the end of existence itself or what other realms mortals believe happen to your dead. If you so much as hold that weapon your skin will burn. If he does not do it then he shows but only cowardice."

When your hand finds the hand it was meant to hold
... Don't let go
There's a day when all hearts will be broken, when a shadow will cast out the light,
And our eyes cry a million tears: help won’t arrive.
I may fall, but not like this: it won't be by your hand!

Claudia Vesslia

The morning greeting her rather irritably and Claudia yanked the blankets over her head. To her surprised, she had slept the whole night without getting up or experiencing a nightmare. As miraculous as this was, she wished the sun would stop rising and time would freeze. The angels would be returning for Adi wherever she is, and she only hoped they would find her first. Besides, in order to remove Zuriel within her Lucas has to impale her with his sword, Purevelion. What if the ritual goes wrong and Adi ends up dead while Lucas will be deemed a murder. Claudia's stomach ached with the countless scenarios to which she grabbed a pillow and cuddled it to calm her. The blonde closed her eyes and attempted to go back to sleep but was unsuccessful. Sighing, she kicked off the covers and sat up realizing that she was still in the same clothes from yesterday. On the edge of her bed, a silk navy blue kimono with golden embroidered blossoms was laid out for her by one of the maids. Ironically, she heard no one enter her room and usually she was very aware about those sort of things. Glancing over to her quiver of arrows propped up against the bed, she stood up leaving them untouched.

Stripping off her tattered dress, and letting her blonde hair down, she strolled over to a mirror on the wall. Absentmindedly, she studied her naked body noticing minuscule nicks and scratches from the fight. Her eyes were still puffy from all the crying she conveyed last night, but she tried to ignore that. She caressed some of them lightly before she stomach began to growl. Claudia bare eat yesterday and the day before she had nothing at all so she was practically staring. Suiting up in her kimono, she brushed her hair to the side allowing it to hang loosely as she walked out. Claudia was always so pristine, but today she could care less about her appearance. She waddled down the halls since her legs had minimal movement, and came to the main entrance. In the middle of the cleared entrance, was a lowered table with cushions neatly placed around it. The others were sitting down already enjoying a scrumptious looking meal so she joined them quietly. The Oracle was not far from them as he stared out the window and the orange hues of the morning complimented his physique. Claudia crouched down and swiped her bowl of food off the table and stuffed herself until she was ready to explode. Occasionally, she would smile at the others to signal that she was alright and that she enjoyed their cheerful company. It's what she needed right now despite all that's happened.

The sun has set, I close my eyes
I pretend everything's alright...Drowning in anger
I can't pretend everything's alright...Please don't let me fall forever...
There's a hate inside of me like some kind of master!

I try to save you but I can't find the answer
I'm holding onto you, I'll never let go

I need you with me as I enter the shadows

She physically flinched at his words and outbursts. The outbursts itself making a headache spring up to pound painfully in her temples that it took Adi messaging clockwise to even relieve half of it. She wasn't all that surprised in Zuriel's response...but at the same time she was. His clear but wordless declaration of wanting to protect from such a fate clear. It warmed as well as soothed her aching heart...but it also pouring salt on a fresh wound.

Zuriel wanted to protect her...just not enough to stay. The ache of knowing that Zuriel would chose the Heavens over her was a painful reality that was sicking in like a rock in water. Sighing Adi shook her head, feeling her temper springing up again, and she didn't want to fight. So the gypsy stood and turned on her heel as she jumped down from the railing and to the balcony floor. It was early but she knew sleep would not come easy so she would head to bed early in the hope to at least catch a few hours of sleep.

"Never underestimate a determined human woman..." she breathed out sinking into the blankets and furs she had retrieved from her bags to make her bed like nest on the floor of the Spirit Fissure.

Her thoughts were many through out the night; different emotions crashing through her like waves of the ocean. Somewhere before morning, when the predawn still pained the sky a dark blue and slight grey, Adi found slumber though fitful as it was.

- - - - - - - -

Morning came with the same flood of emotion that Adi tried to leave behind last night. But also came the new dawn determination...confirmation of a choice long and thoughtful in the making. She had already formulated a slight plan within her head shielded from Zuriel to the best of her ability. The others would retire to the main hall for breakfast, where they normally took the morning meal; one she had only joined by afar by watching them from the shadowed rafters. Crossing her fingers among everything else she could, Adi hoped that per usual, weapons were not taken...leaving Purevelion unguarded.

"Sorry Lucas...but I'm borrowing this," she whispered as she dropped from the balcony above the one that led to his own room and entered soundless. Her honey brown gaze traveling over the room before settling on the weapon she had come for.

Testing the wrappings and cloth wrapped around her hands, Adi had come prepared since she heeded the warning Zuriel gave her the night before. Dressed in her essential ceremonial best a wide range of bright and rich colors layered over one another; cream bases for her skirt and mid-drif top with longs sleeves, with yellow-orange scarfs, with rich sky blue over them. Ruby reds and deep purples, she felt more like she was at home in this dress, but it wasn't dancing she was going to do. No...she came here for a purpose of her own choosing and would involve no one else.

So Rur'Adika Addaharra took up the heavily blade, dropping it quickly out of shock of how quickly the heat bit at her human hands. "Arghh...it complicate things but neither will it stop me..." she spoke up to fill the heavy errie silence that fell over her; blocking Zuriel out the beset she could, but he was still the stronger soul. So with more determination, Adi grabbed the base of the blade, where it was the dullest, but still surprisingly sharp; it was too long for her to hold by the hilt after all to do what needed to be done.

The young woman cringed as the heat built in her hands, the steam rolling off of her hands as she held it up, the deadly point turned towards her. It cut through the fabric into her hands effortlessly she could see her blood rolling down the blade towards her. Still as much pain she was in, fighting every instinct to drop the blade and stop the pain, Adi didn't. Felt the slightest touch of the cool sharp tip against her ribs just below her sternum and off to the left, even then it burned and ever so slightly nicked her skin like she was tissue paper.

Sucking in a breath and squeezing her eyes shut, Adi stretched out her arms as far as they would go preparing for just what needed to be done. Mentally prayed they would forgive her and not morn her, but that she knew was not going to happen.

"...I'll stop the whole world...
...from turning into a monster..."

Caught in the darkness I go blind
But can you help me find my way out? Nobody hears me, as I suffer the silence

I'm holding onto you...I'm holding onto you
There's a hate inside of me like some kind of master!
I try to save you but I can't find the answer
I'm holding onto you, I'll never let go
I need with you with me as I enter the shadows

When your soul finds the soul it was waiting for
When someone walks into your heart through an open door

◢ ♞ ◣

"Are mornings always like this in Zakernand?" Alexis asked, looking over the boys' heads to the Oracle, he looked back and nodded, "There is never a dull sunrise or sunset unless the spirits are unbalanced"
"It's beautiful" Alexis replied as she gazed out the window, the golden morning light stretched in over them and it was a wonderfully warm glazing over their skin. They all did their best to keep subjects sweet until the Oracle felt something change, he couldn't decipher it yet he felt impending death. Very suddenly a cloud covered the sun and plunged the temple into a gloomy morning, as if rain-clouds had come in. "You might have said that too fast" Laxion joked, but the Oracle was staring around, his hand raised looking very concerned.

"RUR'ADIKA!" Zuriel bellowed, finally able to break through Adi's mental barrier she had so powerfully put up between them. He knew something was wrong some hours ago but he was unable to find the door or once found even break through it. But the closer he got the more he was about to see, and the last image was enough to enrage him and bring forth the former Zuriel, the High Angel that had no trust in mortals. In that moment he took control of her body, and the power of the Purevelion blade surged through him, the thought that this is what a mortal feels upon the touch of an Angelic blade was shocking. He, with her hand, flung the blade aside as it hit the wall and fell clattering to the ground. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Zuriel shouted, forcing himself to leave her body and project himself with a golden light before her, he barely fit in the room with his wings unfolded. Gesturing with his hand, throwing it to his side he added "Even after I warned you that you will DIE if you do so much as touch Purevelion's blade let alone attempt severing our souls yourself with it! Is this what you wanted? For this is not what my brother has been trying to tell me since the dawn of time, that mortal's don't just... give up. As if your gift of life so so insignificant! You would rather run yourself through than give your mortal ally one ounce of pain that will be erased mere moments after it has been conducted? I could have driven you to death long ago but I have not - I'd much prefer you didn't go against my decision..."

Suddenly the clouds came back and golden light refilled the room, but the Oracle still felt a presence in his Temple, it sung through the air, it's very soul was harmonic and chimed, it resonated emotions and anything closely related to happiness or depression could easily be confused for the opposite. The Oracle then decided to disappear down one of the nearby corridors before anyone could really notice. He brought with him the streams of incense smoke that clasped onto him as he passed the burning sticks. Once out of the main hall the smoke formed two smoky guards by his sides. With them, he would easily find the problem and he had two ideas as to what it could be. One involved further killing, the other... may still involve killing.
